Less than meh. I'll do this Eastwood style. The Good Despite the dread inspired by the yellow color of the combo fried rice, it was pretty ok. The Singapore maifun tasted of powdered curry and not much else. Somehow this managed to be the highlight of the meal. The Bad The kung pao chicken lacked flavor and was anything but spicy despite the flaming pepper on the menu. The pork lo mein was edible if you pushed from your mind the fact that the noodles were 5mm thick and mushy - very very mushy - and tasted like what I imagine rolled and boiled cardboard would taste like. The Ugly The bourbon chicken was horrible. Just horrible. So horrible that my wife refused to eat it. She is like Mikey, she eats just about anything...but the bourbon chicken. For the record, I ate it. I am not overly proud of having done it, but I refuse to waste food (or however one would classify the sickly sweet and overcooked chicken we received under the guise of bourbon chicken). Chinese House needs to come back from vacation.

My husband and I love getting takeout here when we are tired and don't feel like cooking or going out. Every time I call to place an order, the food is ready within 15 minutes and is piping hot, so everything is fresh. This place is close to our house so we get it about once every two weeks, and we've never had a problem with anything. The price is reasonable, the food is delicious, and they are friendly. Definitely recommend if you need some quick comfort food!

Odered 2 plates it came to 18$ they where very small portions and a 1$ extra for shrimp fried rice that 5 shrimp in it. When my boyfriend got home and started eating he noticed hair in his marderian chicken sauce. We called them and they played stupid like they didn't understand me..never again will we order Mr Joe and don't recommend it to anyone else if that's how they handle there buissness

I stop here and got a combination plate started eating my egg roll as I drove out the parking lot,made it to the interstate and made a u-turn went back and ordered two orders of egg rolls it was that good. The best I've had since I've been down here⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The food was terrible. It tasted like it was burnt. I usually go to the Chinese House on Robert Road in Slidell. Not only is the food much better, but you also get a egg roll with your order. I will not go back to Mr. Joe's again

This isn't some precooked Frozen stuff warmed over, they cook it in their woks right there. I especially love his eggrolls! It is a take out restaurant with only 2 tables in the dining area so keep that in mind.

My husband had a taste for Chinese food (new to Slidell). We stopped here, food was AWFUL. Boneless chicken had more batter than chicken (which was hard). We didn't expect to get plan white rice with the combination. What a waste of $20

My daughter picked up dinner a Mandarin chicken dinner and a boneless chicken dinner. There was more raw batter on the chicken than there was chicken. The rice was hard. The eggroles weren't that bad but the egg drop soup was bland. I have eaten from here before and it was okay. Thought we would try again but no more.

Delivered our food to a hotel & put no utensils in the bag. No fortune cookie either. The sesame chicken had an odd taste but the chicken chow mein was ok.

They were closed when I first moved here so it took awhile to try them out. I usually only get Chinese food when I'm craving Won Ton soup, and since they have an old favorite variation of mine, Egg Drop Won Ton, I kept following up until I saw they were open again. It was worth the wait. Broth was tasty without being overly salty. Noodles had a good amount of filling. Could have been more Won Tons but I'd say the same thing even if the container was overflowing. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I also ordered a side of fried dumplings, but received steamed dumplings instead. Normally that would drop the score more but the steamed dumplings were still pretty good. You can sit in and eat as there are tables and chairs but this seems to be your standard take out environment with various drinks available in cans and 2 liters. I'll definitely go back. Good food and the price is right.

The best Chinese location in Slidell. Comes in heavier duty plastic containers and portions are good for the money. Only $7 for lunch that is an entree, rice, and soup. Great Mom 'n Pop type place. Eat here often and not sure I can recall ever having an issue with anything. English is not great if you stray off the food.
