I had trout with onions and mushrooms. Trout St Charle, was a tad overcooked and dry, the potatoes were a tad undercooked. The ambiance and service are excellent for a neighborhood restaurant.

Started going to mr eds when it was on veterans blvd.still going on live oak. This is,unfortunately a restaurant in decline. I can understand that prices had to go up as costs went up but the quality has gone down. I no longer order the turtle soup because it is watered down. Today I ordered a sandwich and the waitress came back and told me they were out of that, I ordered a different sandwich and she came back and told me they were out of that item also. I went somewhere else and may not go back again.

Mr. Ed's has several locations, so it's a little fuzzy to finf the one you want, as they are different. I was looking for charbroiled oysters today and picked the Metairie restaurant, Mr. Ed's Italian and seafood, thinking this was the right one but they didn't serve charbroiled oysters. I did have the grilled redfish but it seemed more baked then grilled. It had a good flavor but not what I'm looking for. My wife had the eggplant parmesan but the sauce was too sweet for her. Still, it was okay. The waitress was excellent and brought plenty of good crunchy flavorful bread.

Very pricey! Way over priced! No bacon cheese burger is worth $16, $12 for burger, $2 for cheese, $2 for bacon and then you have to pay for fries seperate at $8??= $24..... I dont think so! Food looked decent but small portions for price on what I seen around us. We didnt stay, just drank our drinks and left. Not being cheap either it was expensive for what you get. Good maybe if you got it like that. Even if I did I wouldn't pay them prices. Just sayin!

Ordered 1/2 fried chicken dinner to be picked up very disappointing. Web site states $11.75 but was charged $15.75 substituted french frys for vegetable charged extra which I do not mind paying for but when it's string beans out of the can really. IF YOU ORDER FROM THERE WEB SITE BEWARE PRICES ARE NOT CORRECT!

Mr Ed’s feels like home, likely because they’ve had the same staff forever and the food is so incredibly consistent. We had another great experience here recently. Italian meets seafood and its all a comforting experience. The food is great and the portions are what you would expect in an environment like this, very generous! You can’t go wrong but the specials of the day are the way to go. Follow the lead of the servers and management, they won’t steer you wrong. Jerry always makes us feel at home. Don’t confuse this with Mr Ed’s Seafood and Oyster House. Same owners but different concept. Located close to Bucktown in a quaint Metairie neighborhood. 15 minute Uber from downtown.

Man o man can you get some food at this place! My wife and I got the soft shell crab pasta and the trout almondine and couldn't be more satisfied. The softshell crab pasta came with a big fried softshell over angel pasta with a cream sauce with shrimp and Crawfish. Everything is reasonably priced and you will always have leftovers for the next day.

Probably not going to win any awards, but for the neighborhood crowd -- mostly older folk -- who keep coming back, Mr. Ed's has clearly won some hearts. The wait staff are attentive and courteous. WARNING: Watch out for some tripping hazards immediately outside the door! I'm surprised an elderly customer hasn't already fallen face-first out into the parking lot due to the trippy threshold or sloping sidewalk outside. :-/

This place is definitely one of the staples of New Orleans cuisine. It's staff and food are truly an example of what it means to be a New Orleans restaurant. You are treated like family the moment you walk in the door. The food is consistently delicious. One of the best places in the city where you can get great seafood and great Italian food or fried chicken in the same place. The last time we were there the owners mother sat at our table with us for awhile and had a great conversation with us and mostly my grandma. They exchanged stories like they had known each other for years. Great experience every time.

Went there for lunch with another couple. Menu selections were varied, their special was outstanding, waiter was very accommodating, and all 4 orders were excellent! They were out of diet coke but gave us diet Barqs bottles instead which to us was acceptable. Highly recommended!
