This Restaurant belongs to the category of French restaurant.
This was the best meal I had on my stay in New Orleans. I had the special which was a crisp chicken breast atop biscuits with a garlic butter, and a light tomato based cream sauce with sauteed greens. It was exceptional, I let my server know it should definitely go on the main menu. My date had the steak frites and he said they were amazing. We came in time for the happy hour specials and I enjoyed a lovely daiquiri. We shared the creme brulee for dessert and it was a great finish to a fantastic experience. Nice ambiance here as well!
All the dishes we ordered (the Gnocchi, the Curry, and the Yak soup) were delicious, and the creme brulee was fantastic. Only thing I'd change is to add a bit of texture - maybe some crunch? - to the Gnocchi. Other than that, it was a perfect meal.
Nice and quiet atmosphere. I had the LA Gulf Fish Amandine and it was absolutely delicious. Our server Duane was great, and made great recommendation on the meal. My friend got the escargo and that was good if you like escargo :)
Comfortable spot on the corner. No beer but good cocktails and eats. Recommend the Bloody Mary and the Pimm's Cup
Had a very good brunch here. Wish I could have tried more of the menu.
The brunch was delicious! Intimate, comfortable atmosphere.
Good food, bad service, not worth the wait. We were here for brunch, and waited an hour and a half before being served. While the waiter was apologetic, the manager was less so. Can't say this was a nice experience.
Great bistro with delicious French cuisine. Laid back but attentive staff. The classic Steak au poivre was cooked to perfection. I never had Parmesan on fries but is tasted quite good. The chicken breast was delicious and the clams tasteful. It’s just a restaurant with a good vibe and excellent food and drinks. Try it!
Delicious food and great staff. Away from the craziness of Bourbon Street right on Rampart.
We were with a big group and experienced great food and staff.
Food was great and wait staff awesome
Great duck. Excellent service. $2 rolling rock cans can't be beat.
Outstanding atmosphere, staff and food. Had a great dinner.
I'm used to more of flavor in my food. New Orleans is a place for flavor, and this place is lacking it! Service was great... Reviews are high at this little cute joint, maybe it's just me... We ordered the escargot and it was already out of the shell which sucks for me because personally I enjoy the experience of plucking it out. We ordered a few small plates and wasn't feeling it at all so we packed up the pork chop entree and left to another place to eat!!!! YOU WOULD NEVER SEE ME DO THAT!! Over all experience, service was very accommodating but food wasn't my style!!!! Too many other places I feel to EVER go back.... just saying!
Excellent service and food!
Delicious food and cocktails. Attentive service. I will be back again.
Had dinner with my wife, fantastic staff, service and food. Couldn't have asked for more from them. Superb.
We just randomly googled French food and this place popped up so we thought we would give it a try. The food was great but the service blew us out of the water. We didn’t have reservations and they were able to seat us right away. The appetizer was amazing and they went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed it and the experience. When the food arrived the smell was amazing and my mouth watered wanting for that first bite. It was heavenly. Amazingly authentic and it took me to the streets of Paris.
I'm not from New Orleans, but I am from the Gulf Coast so Nola is a favorite quick, weekend vacation spot for me. This is actually my second time visiting meauxbar, I came once with a group of friends for new years and again this weekend for my anniversary. I liked it so much I came back! The food is amazing, well executed classics brought in to the twenty first century. The service is also excellent. Melissa was our waitress both times oddly and she was great both times. Attentive but not annoyingly so. The desserts do not disappoint either, they make this awesome goat cheese frosting that rocked my world.
Homely and nice service, really pleasing french food!
Hip, cozy place; love the ambiance and warm lighting. The food was amazing and creative and the menu of wine and other libations was extensive. We had the best escargot I've ever had, by far, and the yakamein, a delicious fusion noodle soup dish specific to New Orleans which was recommended by a tour guide. Duck fat popcorn and a genius carrot cake with goat cheese frosting rounded out the meal. Definitely one of my favorite meals during our 8 days in NOLA, so that's saying something!
Delicious late night food in a comfortable, dimily lit space.
Girlfriend and I are visiting from NYC/NJ. We can't find this food by home so what a find. Creative menu and all of it is delicious. Wait staff are great. If you're looking for a night to splurge (and only by a little more than average) I totally recommend Meauxbar. Duck fat popcorn for days! Thanks for the great night guys.
Eclectic takes on local favorites. Go for the excellent service and Yak-a-Mein
Best bartenders on the city. Make sure you ask for Jillian. Oh and the food is amazing also.
We stop by because our hotel was next door. Fancy and nice. Very good food. Super spot for a date. A bit expensive but worth it
Not much variety in the menu. Food was ok, good service
Great drinks! Worth a visit.
Great food, drinks, and staff. Cool bathroom art.
Great food, great atmosphere
We wanted to try something different and we were not disappointed. Great staff, service and the food was delicious. We had the grilled chicken, the roasted veggies and creme brulee. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Great place. Excellent cocktails and wine list. Food is unique and brilliant. Local feel with international 5 star flare. Try it - you'll be glad you did.
Food was delicious and heavy, I especially like the French onion grilled cheese, and some kind of picked fish that was tangy and wonderful. Charming and cozy place, with a bit of an upscale vibe.
The sevice is amazing and sweet. Food was wonderful and true down home cooking. Reservations recommended. Atmosphere was wonderful.
Definitely order the crispy pork belly
This is on our short list as one of our reliably consistent ‘go-to’s’. As a matter of fact, it’s an awesome place to go by yourself and sit at the bar. It’s off the beaten path a bit. So it’s not quite as busy as other spots in the Quarter. The entire staff is always friendly and engaging and the food is spot on. Last time I went, I was hungover AF. I had the yaka mein soup aka old sober and the bottomless mimosas and my hangover was gone til the mornin!!
Excellent fod. Good drink selection and excellent service
The sweet potato hash with duck and egg is unbelievable, service was impeccable, drinks are great! Highly recommend!!!
Service was okay. Food was bland. Expected so much more, I had the fish that had zero seasoning when paying top of the line price I expect more than a half stick of butter to flavor the food. As for my vegetarian dinner mate she had a choice of salad, fries and a poorly put together bean dish nothing on the menu even remotely aimed at a vegetarian. Hello Meauxbar vegetarians are people too! I don't recommend nor will I be back.
I came here for my 2 year anniversary for a few apps and drinks and loved it! Super chill, loved the ambiance, great vibes & attentive service. Thank you Meauxbar staff for the wonderful experience.
Great staff, super delicious food
Meauxbar had been on the "to do" list for some time, and since we were coming into the French Quarter to help another friend celebrate his birthday, we decided to have Sunday brunch here first. My gin cocktail was listed under "Strange and Adventurous" and included green tea, shochu, loganberry, lemon, whey, cucumber and strega. Those ingredients might sound a little different, but the result was quite delicious! My friend had only the deviled eggs of the day and while we both enjoy garlic, they had a LOT of garlic. I had the Sweet Potato Hash with Duck Confit and a fried egg, which I enjoyed, but would have liked even more if the egg had been over easy so that the yolk would have mixed with the hash. Lindsay, our server, did a fine job.
Friendly wait staff in a cozy and convenient location for a quick bite before the show at the Mahalia Jackson theater. Had the chicken liver paté on grilled bread, which was very tasty and I got several thick slices which was enough to share. The food menu is short but the drinks/wine menu is extensive.
Meauxbar was my happy place when I stayed in New Orleans. The food was delicious and the staff was charming and hospitable. I'd totally recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, chill scene in front of Louis Armstrong Park. <3
Delicious pain perdu (French toast) and crepes with seasonal fruit. And reasonably priced bottomless mimosas with bonus tinctures to customize your drink. Service was also great.
Nice atmosphere but seating a little close for my comfort. Food was very good but my seafood portion was a little small.
Great food. Real pricey.
Excellent food & service. Wonderful experience eating there!
Do not go on a Monday night, The staff was inattentive.....and not interested in helping us..just standing in the corner talking to themselves. So disappointed.
Excellent service, from our waiter to the maitre-d. Drinks were interesting and delicious. The food was very good, albeit a little on the heavy side (even for New Orleans).
Overall food is good. The fried oyster is very tasty. The steak is fine but I am surprised that it didn’t come with vegetables and just fries.
Gillian is incredible! We had an amazing time here! If you’re looking for a class, well-made drink, this is your stop!
Sorry late posting was here yesterday day. I had amazing chicken breast with lentils, the service was awesome staff very knowledgeable and a great bar. The only bad thing was what I walked in for was Smoked Duck, but was eighty-six. Other than this my meal was perfect, and my service once again amazing.
Excellent food, cordial staff, interesting menu, novel cocktails. I had Pisco concoction, he had a craft beer. Escargot was presented without shells but perfect. Fish amandine was crispy and cooked to perfection. Casual atmosphere. We had a lively and helpful conversation with the table next to us, where a local gave us tips about more things to do and places to eat.
What a delicious brunch! We highly suggest trying the brunch menu that you can pick two items. It's an amazing deal, they are full size plates & yummy food! Loved that we found a local spot in the French Quarter.
Cozy neighborhood place staff is wonderful. Food was terrific
The Lamb was delicious but my favorite was the appetizer Crab balls, would love that recipe Chef!
Great service, amazing food, cute spot, 100% recommend
Fantastic cocktails, apps, and entrees. We had the burrata, fried Brussels sprouts, and drum with almondine. Everything was spectacular and service was excellent. Will definitely be back.
Staff was excellent and food was nice!
Amazing brunch and all around food place. Menu changes a lot so things are always rotated in and out. Parking can be an issue so make sure you plan ahead. Overall one of the better places to eat in Nola.
Great little bistro on Rampart on the lakeside of the French Quarter. Scallops are always fresh and sweet. Red snapper nicely done. Good desserts!
The food and drinks were amazing and the staff all had that great combination of friendliness and professionalism. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will stop there again the next time I'm in town. Be sure to make a reservation.
Our server was the most patient and knowledgeable server! I asked what my vegan options were and he went to the kitchen to figure out what could be done for me. The food and coffee were amazing!
A wonderful Bistro on the edge of the French Quarter, Meauxbar has a delicious array of dishes, any of which won't fail to please. Cocktails and spirits list are solid and if you can't find something on the wine list to be excited about you probably don't like wine. To top it all off, service is that perfect blend of casual and precise. Well done!
One of the most delicious brunches I have ever had in my entire life.
Excellent. Everything was well balanced and tasty.
Best shrimp n grits I've ever had.
