Was passing through Louisiana and heard about this place and I highly recommend it. The chicken was really good and juicy and had a little bit of a spicy after taste. Also their portions are really big - which makes it better for a long road trip. Definitely will be back when going through Louisiana again!!

The food looked good by the pictures on the advertising online. This proves Looks are deceiving, My chicken was undercooked. Our Fish was soft and pink on the inside!! The place had alot of customers, guess they dont mind undercooked food

The service is very exceptional. The only problem I have had as of recently is placing my orders specifically requesting extra seasoning and my request not being fulfilled with my last two orders. I expect better but honestly, my expectations have gone down quite a bit now.

This is the best fried chicken I have ever had. The size of the peices are enormous. The staff could use a little training on customer service. There not rude or disrespectful. They are young and immature. They also need to update there speaker system for the drive thru. You have a very hard time trying to get the worker to hear you when you ace your order and also trying to hear the worker when they try to confirm your order. Most of the time I'd rather skip the drive thru and go inside and just order to go. All in all it's a decent place to eat. The food is amazing. Its definitely worth going.

If you have never eaten at Mama's Fried Chicken and you find yourself near one, you gotta stop. The chicken is a little spicy, like I like it. The dirty rice is the best I have ever eaten.

It was delicious. We came from Houston, grabbed a 12 piece chicken bucket w/fries, onion rings, fried okra, mashed potatoes. The rolls were fresh and better than any I've had in a while, chicken was well seasoned, fries could have been cooked a little longer, oniom rings were good, okra was crisp and flavorful.

On our way back from Texas we we're looking for a non fast food restaurant for lunch and ran across Mama's Fried Chicken which had some pretty decent reviews and decided to give it a try. I have chicken salad sandwich in my daughter had some fried chicken along with some mashed potatoes and gravy and some fried okra. The food was excellent. We had pretty good timing cuz after we ordered it got rather busy!

Came here for lunch maybe twice a week while taking class at the community college in the area. The food was good. Although I changed my selection one day and had the chicken salad poboy and was in the bathroom 30 minutes later. So I wouldn't recommend the chicken salad anything.. but the other options are ok

Killer food. It is just too good. The staff was awesome and welcoming. The food was phenomenal. I don't usually like restaurant chicken, it's usually too dry if it has a crisp exterior,... that is not the case at all at Mama's Fried Chicken. You can't beat the quality of that meal and you have no excuse not to eat there when it comes to the price.

I have had the shrimp and fish poboy and I have had the fish sandwich. None of their seafood is fresh and I wonder what type of fish they are selling because it definitely doesn't taste like catfish, although they will tell you that's what it is. Their lemonade has been their best drink/item so far.

Mama's fried chicken is always good and fresh. Seasoned fries, corn nuggets, and more as they offer a lot of menu items. Great fish and shrimp baskets and great rice dressing. Food is super greasy but flavor is worth it. Always pretty quick despite long lines of customers.

Best fried chicken I ever ate. Always fresh. And no little pieces of chicken. There home made biscuits to die for but you must ask for it. There's a certain spice on the fries, yummy. And sweet coleslaw, can't get enough of. There is always lots of customers inside and at the drive through, but service is still pretty fast. P.S. Don't forget the fresh homemade lemonade. Wish I lived closer.

The cheeseburger wasn’t the best: the bun was a lot bigger than the pattie and was just lacking in flavor. However, the fries were immaculate! I shoulda bought some of that seasoning! They also had some delicious looking desserts, but I didn’t get to try any this trip. The atmosphere was inviting, and the staff was very attentive. Will return!

I happened stop by Opelousas for something on an empty stomach so I was pleasantly surprised to see Mama’s Fried Chicken on my route. The place itself is an older mom-and-pop type family restaurant. The parking lot did not appear to be very big and it was full even though lunch rush was over. Since I was traveling through, it was nice that they have a drive through (actually, 2) for my convenience. The menu had a big selection and variety and from reviews I’ve read, it seemed like everything was pretty good. I went with the 2 piece fried chicken dinner, I mean the place is named after fried chicken! They had several sides too, not just the usual fries. I chose the rice dressing. I added a drink to my order and my total came out to $7.58. My order was taken quickly and I didn’t have to wait long for the food. The picture of the food I posted doesn’t look the best, but the food was hot and fresh. The biscuit that came with my order was pretty good, the chicken had a spice to it, but could be a little more seasoned in my opinion, and the rice dressing was good. I would also like to add that I wasn’t given any napkins in my bag. I don’t know about everybody else, but if I go through a drive through, I usually try to eat it in the car. Napkins would have been great since everything was pretty oily and got a little messy. (Thank goodness I keep hand wipes in my car though!) If I have another chance to be in the area, I’d like to come back and try some of the other menu items!
