REVIEWS OF Lilette IN Louisiana

Piccola Gelateria

If you enjoy great french food, this place is a must. 7 years later, since our first visit and it's still amongst our very favorites in New Orleans. Quality of food & service is impacable. When you go ask if you can have Tracy, to be your server.

Jessica McCloskey

Great food and atmosphere. Somewhat limited in terms of choices, especially beer and main course choices. But what they had all seemed very high quality. Desserts were very good too. Server was polite but a little slow and not super attentive.

Jonathan Metais

Friendly staff, great outdoors atmosphere and their food was delicious!

Alex Uhlarik

Waited an hour after we were scheduled to be seated on New Year's Eve. The food was good but I'm not into fancy food. Nice atmosphere though.

Anaijuana Padilla

Food was excellent! No complaints there, it was the service that counts for the 3 stars. The waiter served all the tables around us because she never placed our order!

Zachary Rea

Jammer Orintas

Franklin Gilley

Good food, a bit pricey. Great wine but it'll cost you.

Ben Mineo

Outstanding execution on ingredients just slightly outside the NOLA norm. The Squab was a particular highlight, as were the desserts. The service was also excellent on a slightly slow Monday night. Go with full confidence, order something you've never had.

Sean McKenzie

the menu changes, so i'm reluctant to be too specific (i was there in the summer) -- but i will say that having eaten here several times and been crazy happy with all aspects of the dining experience, this little slice of french life is transporting. Service is unobtrusive, food is fresh and painstakingly prepared -- so don't be in a hurry. pretend you're on the left bank, sipping, pernod or, well, lillette.

Laurie Born

Outstanding food and ambience!! I highly recommended it!

Very romantic atmosphere with fantastic service. The cuisine is excellent!

I was very much looking forward to eating here. We even went out of our way, walking down magazine st in the garden district, just to eat here... and it was closed for vacation. I wish they would've posted that somewhere in the website so that I didn't waste my time going there.

Ric Bell

I've had the pleasure of dining here many times, enough to cover most of the menu. Not once have I had less than stellar service, food and beverages. I like the space too, charming but not excessive. The bar is consistent and reliably creative.

Robert Lamberg

A perfect French Bistro on Magazine at far end of the Garden district. The large shrimp in lemon and better were delicious. The Muscovy duck perfectly cooked with a tasty glaze. . . Oh, yummy! The recommended white wine was perfect with the entire meal though I wish I had been in the mood for another glass before my duck arrived. A red would have been even better. The thick chocolate mousse was dense and rich and was a perfect pairing with the grapefruit sorbet. I will definitely be doing that desert for company soon. Great experience and ambiance. You'll think you are in Paris. Bon appetit.

Showed up with a reservation and was told that they were going to seat us outside while it was raining with no umbrella. Could not believe that they try to pull that on us. After refusing to do so, they let us know that they would seat us inside at the bar. it was New year's so there was prefixed menu and it not have pricing on it and was not advertised online. The bill came to $300 for two people without alcohol. Later on I searched previous reviews and found that there has been many previous dissatisfied New year's Eve guess I really wish that we would have seen these reviews before deciding to go there and laying down a monthly car payment on a three-course meal.I think the worst part of it all was I feel bad that I wasn't able to give my girlfriend a special New year's Eve because of the quality of the food and the service. Will never return.

Joshua Beck

Always an amazing meal with fantastic service.

Matthew Rivenburgh

It remains one of my favorite neighborhood places for the food and atmosphere.

Terrell Jackson

Perfect dinning experience! thanks

this place comes highly recommended and although the food was good ;nothing really stood out except the fries

Alison Zink

Wonderful neighborhood restaurant on Magazine St. The food and service are top-notch and I'd recommend it to anyone. My only complaint would be that some of the tables are a bit close together.

Bree Brincat

*Not friendly to accommodations* Made a reservation and it was not honored. They did not accommodate my injury in anyway (see: crutches) & left me standing outside for 50+ minutes without an update as to our wait time. I received an “apology” call from the owner but it was condescending and back-handed. Needless to say I do not recommend this place — however, I never had a chance to try their food so who knows, it could be delicious.

Jess Hughes

This is a lovely little spot with fine French dining. The service was great and the food excellent. I had the specials, including a tempura-fried soft shell crab, and my companion had the escargots, heart of palm, and the hanger steak. We thoroughly enjoyed everything, and we will certainly return during our next visit to New Orleans!

Cindy Hsu

So awesome place. The waiters are super friendly. I ate 2 entries and we ordered almost everything from the menu. Love the lamb shoulder dish. Highly recommended.

Ashley Young

Waiter was horrible. One person did not eat her entree and the waiter did not even ask if he could bring her something else. We had to flag down another worker to get our check and ask for more bread/water.

Natalia Serra

Delicious food!!! OMG Everything was exquisite! The Italian Wedding Soup was so good. It was my first time trying it out, and i loved it. The Baked Louisiana Crabmeat delish too. I also had some delicious roast been on toasts with some delicious garlic lemony sauce, but I can't remember what it was called. it was an appetizer. I had a great time with my friend. The place is a bit high end, but waiter was still super sweet and fun, and very helpful explaining our menu choices.

Rex Michael Dillon

Got the $60 rib-eye. The flavor was great. Got the chimichurri but the meats flavor was enough to make it without that addition. Had the shrimp appetizer which was also very flavorful. The meal was delicious. Server was a consummate professional. Certainly Lilette is fine dining; still I feel I have had better at the same price point or less and just as fine a meal at other restaurants in New Orleans.

Wonderful food & drink, excellent service! From the moment we arrived we were treated with warmth. The ambiance was calm and comfortable and the noise level was just right. We've had two wonderful meals here and recommend this place to family and friends who are visiting the Crescent City! By far one of our favorite restaurants in NO.

Top notch cuisine with perfectly adequate lighting and jazz. Waiters a little snobby but to be expected maybe. Just explore the menu, you pretty much can't go wrong and everything is cooked to perfection.

Everything we ate was well prepared and light enough for us to not regret eating. We had beets and king crab to start, both delicious. He had the fish special and loved it. I had the veal and politely licked my plate clean.

Serene Ambiance. Friendly and informative wait staff. Tasty Drinks. Super clean bathrooms. Pricey, but expected. I regretted the penis sharpied on my hand from the strip club the night before and forgetting that my credit card and ID were in my bra...keep it classy, NOLA.

Made a reservation but they were very late getting us seated. Despite that we enjoyed the food and had a lovely time.

Chef John Harris can flat out cook and although this spot has only been open 14 years it's a staple for New Orleans uptown foodies. It's an elegant and modern dining room with food and service that aims to please. I'm guilty of often going to his swank craft cocktail bar, Bouligny Tavern next door for more casual dining but Lilette is a great spot with the food almost always being on. I couldn't decide to give this one a 4 or a 5 but the peer pressure of it's popularity and the diligence of Chef John Harris makes me feel comfortable giving it the 5!!

This is the first time ever rode a zero dollar tip I normally tip 20 to 25% for great service my service here was an absolute zero Hence zero dollar tip. I was going to write a very long detailed review on this restaurant but I decided to keep it simple. My food he was very good at the drum fish which was delicious butternut squash and kale. I had asked myself or four times for a drink meanwhile he came back to my table to pour Everybody else a glass of wine and still hadn't a brought me my drink tequila in a glass neat by the way I said 4 feet from the bar.I was never asked for one dessert when everybody else's table was asked for dessert. The manager was weak while we were complaining to the manager the server was behind us making faces laughing like it was a joke very disrespectful. When you're at a table to table spending $2000 for dinner and you get to service of McDonald's it makes you shake your head. The manager was incompetent it look like he was strung on painkillers. Go here if you want to overpay for terrible service never again worst $150 ever spent I might even dispute with my bank.

I spent $70 on a tough Wago steak it was really A Hard Sell especially when you consider the fact it was ala cart. Everyone else's food in my party was excellent according to them. I got to admit they seem to be in control of their ingredients pretty well

Kirsten Cronin-Cartee

Gorgeous restaurant with a delicious menu. Portions are on the small side though. Good spot for a lunch or dinner. Perfect for special occasions.

Pamela Savini

Amazing cuisine! Will go again...

While on vacation in Nola, we had dinner here and LOVED IT. One of our favorite dishes was Fresh Hawaiian Hearts of Palm. It was so unique and refreshing. I've never had fresh hearts of palm and I would walk back to New Orleans to eat this again. I had the Sauteed Drum, which was very good, and my husband had the fish special. It was a great meal and stands out among the fantastic meals we had in Nola. Make sure you snag a table with a reservation to avoid a potential wait. HIGHLY recommend.

Lillette is a cozy restaurant on Magazine street with a great menu and a good wine list. parking can be hard to find, but the meal is well worth it! the appetizers are not heavily seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The Wait staff is friendly and know the menu and the wine list. Dessert was also exceptional, and completed a great meal. The decor, with framed mirrors, makes the dining area seem larger than it is. This is a great restaurant serving really good food in a town known for good food. Lillette is one of the best restaurants I have dined at in the Big Easy.

Wondeful place to eat! Very intimate and romantic place. The duck is amazing! Our waiter was very kind and so was the hostess. This place is slightly fancy so make sure you dress up a little.

One of my favorites in New Orleans. I do love to luncheon there on an early Saturday afternoon. Staff is always fun and accommodating and the food is light and beautiful. Bar is perfect for drinking and/or eating. A real jewel in the city among jewels.

Amazing ambiance and food made up for mediocre service (waiter forgot to put our order in). We sat in a quiet spot on the upper porch, surrounded by string lights and trees. Everything we had was fantastic: oysters, crudo, lamb shoulder, and duck breast. We finished it off with the goat cheese and lavender honey dessert. The star was definitely the lamb shoulder.

First let me say this was my favorite by far. Can’t wait to come back. Recommended by Chef Chris Dupont of Cafe Dupont out of Birmingham. Great service but the food was amazing. We tried several appetizers such as - Duck Confit and escargot. My favorite was the Potato Gnocchi. So much flavor. I had the grilled Hanger steak with fries - cooked perfectly. Others tried several seafood dishes. Everyone was raving. We finished up with the coconut cake and trio of ice creams with a salted chocolate cookie (my favorite).

Brent Sherman

Simple, classic fare and service in a lovely setting. The patio is very cute and open. We enjoyed the jazz music too. The staff were attentive without being intrusive.

Of the over 200 restaurants I've been to in New Orleans, this is always the first that comes to mind when I hear "poor service." My friends and I weren't dressed as nice as the other guests there for a wedding, so the the staff seemed to cold shoulder us. They were inattentive to our needs and came off as pretentious. I was interested to read that others had experience with snobby waiters as well. The food was fine, but it is everywhere in New Orleans--not enough to get me to come back.

Annette Quintanilla

It was closed when we got there. I was really looking forward to it and was so disappointed. An update on the website would've been nice.

PJ Mac

Very charming date night spot.

Christine Smith

My go to restaurant in the neighborhood I was living Uptown. The sizzling shrimp is a must try. I usually had the crab claws, sizzling shrimp, Italian wedding soup, hearts of palm salad and the hanger steak (of course not all at one time). I was recommended to Lilette's by a local - it became an immediate favorite of mine. I went there often when I didn't feel like venturing down to the french quarter or didn't want a meal that was extremely heavy. If you happen to be visiting New Orleans, Uptown - I suggest to give them a try! And they bring out warm bread as well.

I think the lunch and dinner experience are likely a bit different but had lunch and was less impressed than most. While the food was good it was light fare with fewer options than I'd of preferred. The wait staff was generally attentive though the waters were empty a bit longer than expected. We were also forced to wait at the bar despite a plethora of available tables which we were shown to quickly after the bar tender realized we weren't having a boozy lunch. Probably a bit more than ought be, go for dinner.

Chris Anderson

The nutella custard is one of the best desserts I've ever had

Beth Guliyeva

Lilettes, I've celebrated, mourned and all the I between at your establishment. I can't imagine a more perfect restaurant. Your food is made from the heart and I will love you as long as I live. Thank you.

Met friends here for lunch. What a disappointment!! My husband ordered their hamburger. It came out burnt and shrunken to the size of an Oreo. I am upset I didn't take a picture,..it was pathetic! I ordered chicken "stew" it was a leg and thigh in a black broth with onions. It was horrible! Don't recommend lunch! There is way better food in New Orleans

Cate Gerhart

Wow, excellent service even though it was very busy. Excellent food. The sun choke soup was especially delicious, I want the recipe. The nutella custard was really good too. Nice to get out of the downtown area and into a NOLA neighborhood. Right on the bus 11 line. What a perfect evening. Even had a great Oregon pinot on the wine list!

My wife and I were out to dinner at a nice restaurant last night. Everything was great, but we both were comparing it to our time at Lilette. It has been over a year and we still talk about it being one of the best meals we have had. Since then we have even visited restaurants that consistently rank as top in the US, and still we think of Lilette. We get beef tartare anywhere that serves it, none have compared to the version served here.

Delightful French food in the garden district. The hangar steak was prepared to perfection. I can't find enough adjectives to describe how fantastic this place is. Definitely worth a stop, but reservations are basically mandatory, always seems to be full.

Michael Barrera

The food and service were excellent. The atmosphere on a Saturday night felt crowded and loud, and therefore, not really recommended for a romantic dinner. The two person tables are way too close and crowded. However, if you want to go out with friends and have an awesome meal, this is the place. We had a reservation for two at 9:15, and our table was ready when we arrived, but we were bumped and forced to wait 30 minutes for a new table because Quentin Tarantino and entourage came in behind us and asked for a table. Needless, to say the management seated them promptly and asked us to wait for the next table. However, the management was kind enough to offer us free drinks while we waited, and once we were seated the meal was superb. I will definitely return. Lovely service and food.

Felicia Harper

My Fiancé brought me to Lilette for dinner last night and it was great. The service was impeccable, the food was to die for and the atmosphere was relaxing. If you are in the mood for an experience, the you have to go to Lilette Magazine ST.
