This is a clean place and it is always been good. The best salsa and white queso in town. I try to eat there as often as I can. Never have had a problem with the food or service. The owner is involved and on hand every time I've eaten there.

Very nice. We were seated quickly. It was clean and serene. Food was tasty. Large drink wasn't aa strong as the smaller drink, but we enjoyed ourselves. Had we arrived at 3, the lunch specials began. Chips and salsa tasted fresh. The shrimp taco bowl was cooked well. The enchiladas were good with enough shrimp to taste them in every bite. The beans were okay. The rice was nice. Our server, whose name I can't remember for this review so see my Traveler account, he was very attentive.

Mediocre at best. Friendly face and big smile helped the dinner immensely. Decent pricing. Food was extremely hot a ++. Husbands dinner was a 9 on scale of 10. He never comments so was a good meal. Easy on n off I 10. Is hidden back off street w entrence just before the Popeye restaurant. I would say stop In and have some peace w a hot meal for a traveling pause.

My wife and I stopped in for a drink and appetizer and so far we really liked it. My wife and I both had the margarita house special my wife had an extra shot and she raved about that's how a margarita is supposed to taste. So, so far so good. Next time we will try something from the menu

Not sure what people see in this place. I don't leave negative reviews lightly, but after eating at probably every location around here throughout the years, it is honestly just not very good. We never choose to eat here on our own, only when someone wants to go for a birthday or group. Let me say the service has always been great, it is just that mexican food is better everywhere else. We were actually going to not eat and go somewhere else after we left but the timing of the get together made that difficult so we figured we would give it another shot. Me and my wife both chose the el Mexicano which included a chicken chimichanga covered in a fairly disgusting red sauce, two chicken enchiladas in a sour cream sauce, chicken taco, beans and rice. The big issue here is the same dry, bland chicken was used in each of the items, and the dry flavorless chicken has remained a constant throughout the years. The beans and rice were ok at best, nothing special. The chips and salsa are again, not as good as other places. This may just be us but we prefer the thin tortilla chips served at most places, not the thick chips served here. Salsa was runny and bland. Obviously some people like it or they would not be in business any longer, but when compared to Saritas or Casa Marias, in out opinion, Las Palmas falls way short.

Zero! I called to make reservation for a large group, I politely introduced myself. However, the manager responded with a “What do you want, I am really busy”. Just a quick reminder to this manager: You are in the restaurant industry and being courteous and respectful IS YOUR JOB! Now, the food was average nothing spectacular. Typical, microwaved TexMex food. But maybe my expectations of TexMex are higher because I have a Mexican wife. :)

The food was average for a Mexican restaurant. The place was neat and clean. Atmosphere was nice. Service can change wildly between every reviewer. While I service wasn't bad, it could have been better. We were greeted nicely and sat relatively quick for a party of 11. I'd go back again if I were in the area and wanted Mexican food. Did not try the margaritas.

Similar to cash maria, just not AS good in my opinion. Free chips and salsa is always the best. Enchiladas, burritos, and fajitas are pretty good. Very fast service, and even has a clown blowing up balloons for the kids to enjoy.

Ate here 2 days back-to-back. First day everything was perfect. The waiter was great, food was delicious and the blueberry margaritas we ordered were so good we decided to go back the following day for another. The return trip was complete opposite. The drinks were so bad we didn't even finish them, our waitress was only excellent at disappearing, and the fajitas were highly disappointing. The fajita meat was tough and dry, onions were uncooked and crunchy, and tortillas were hard enough to crack in half when bent.

Don't go on weekends. Came Sunday after church after hearing about good food and good service but I'm guessing that's just during the week cause service was very poor and untimely. My husband asked for a burrito with shredded chicken. He got cubed chicken that was dry and tasted like frozen store bought. I ordered the shrimp fajitas which on the menu said included onions peppers and mushrooms but I got onions and 2 red peppers. The shrimp tasted burnt and had no flavor. My son had the hamburger which is his favorite when pizza is not available. He took one bite and said. I'm done. The house margaritas was great. The waitress was friendly. I had expectations for the restaurant since it was highly recommended.

Las Palmas has one of the top reputations, not just in Ascension Parish-- Baton Rouge as well! Have eaten at Las Palmas; beginning with their 1st restaurant in Baton Rouge for nearly 20+ yeqrs-- still a favorite choice for my 20 and 19 years olds who've eaten Las Palmas all their lives-- HUGE compliment from my 20 year old living in San Diego, CA who eats authentic Mexican and my picky 19 year old who has ordered the same meal since he was a toddler! Las Palmas is the first place my son wants--along w/my 19 and 5 year old when their older brother is in town) THANK YOU LAS PALMAS!

We finished our meal and waited a full twenty minutes before I finally got up and walked to another section to ask for our bill. Poor individual server, but also poor front of the house management because no one else looked in on us either.
