Visiting from California for the night, and picked this place due to reviews. Had stuffed crab dinner meal to go. Was good, I'd ask for butter for the bread next time. Also, they didnt put in the fried banana which I was looking forward to for dessert. The girl helping the pick up line was SO nice and she definitely made the experience great. 4 stars because they didnt put banana.

The grilled seafood platter was cooked to perfection. And the seasoning was just right. The grilled oysters on half shell were good but not quite as good as Drago's in New Orleans. I'd definitely eat them again. I was disappointed they didn't have bread pudding on the dessert menu. I was too full to eat it, but I would have taken it home. Definitely recommend this place.

Boiled seafood market price was way more then I would pay for seafood so I settled for a fried seafood platter and cup of seafood gumbo. Fried fish, shrimp, crab fingers and oysters were good, I did like the light batter they use. Stuffing for crab and shrimp were mostly bread. Gumbo roux was too thin for my liking and gumbo did not have a seafood taste even though there were oysters, shrimp and very little crab in it. Waitress and service was good.

I visited New Iberia for a week and everybody I asked said that Jane's was the best restaurant in town. They were definitely on to something. No surprise that they serve some extremely fresh seafood. Their specialty is seafood boils, but they also have some fried and grilled dinners with lots of sides to complement them. Their crab stuffed shrimp is incredible! There's no thick layers of batter, just a perfect balance between creamy and crispy. Service was exceptional from both our server and the bartender. The southern hospitality is real here! Just from observing the dining room, everybody's eating seafood, but there's a whole menu of Chinese dishes if you so choose to go that route. Regardless of the day or time, this place is busy, but it's worth every bit of the wait!

When we approached the hostess stand they had attitude like it was our fault. And. Couldn't find our name on paper. The food is great here in New Iberia. Good Vietnamese style Crawfish in Cajun country. The restaurant is do popular among the locals you better plan on a wait of atleast 40 minutes during peak hours from 6-7pm . The star reduction is purely for reflecting the lost customers due to wait.

We visited New Iberia in late April and found Janes Seafood and Chinese to be one of the better restaurants in town. We arrived about 630 on a Thursday night, the place was already full with people waiting outside. We were able to grab a couple of spots at the bar where they have full service. If you're looking for a fancy place to eat, this isnt it. But if youre looking for some really fine fried or boiled seafood, this is where you need to go! We started with some of the chargrilled oysters which were very good, still bubbling with burnt cheese around the edges, YUM. We also had the spicy crawfish and the fried shrimp platter. Both were plentiful servings and very well done. We'll definitely go back next tie were in the area. Urban Cowgill April 2019

Heard about this place for years. All good things. Finally went there last night and was personally impressed. The menu is so diverse and is sure to have something for everyone. I tried the Jane's shrimp as an appetizer and almost ordered again for my meal! Instead, I ordered the fried shrimp dinner. Amazing! My wife ordered boil crawfish. Although they were a little small because of the time of the year, they were perfectly seasoned and very easy to peel. Also very reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Will definitely be back!

My ticket to go was mixed up in kitchen had to wait for 45 minutes then when I got home to eat my food you can tell that they hurried up and made it. It was a steak kew Chinese food and it was real salty. The price you pay for their food isn't worth it. There are other places in town that their food is just as good and it isn't as pricey. No more Jane's for me .

My husband liked the boiled shrimp. I’m always appreciative of a place with non-seafood options for those of us who don’t want to eat seafood at every meal on vacation. While I didn’t try the Chinese options, I was excited to order the chicken fettuccine. It was inedible- the chicken was very spicy and the cream sauce tasted like fake cheese.

Where should I start?!? I called Jane's Seafood 2 wks prior to confirm that I could have a party of 30 ppl in the private dining area for my bday dinner. The lady that I made reservations with assured me that wouldn't be a problem. On July 27, 2019 someone from the restaurant called to confirm that myself and the party was still attending and I ensured them that we'll be there. Upon arrival at the restaurant we had to wait 17 minutes for the room due to the fact that the party before us was still in the room over their allotted time. We had to wait for an additional 7 minutes for them to leave. While waiting so long I asked the hostess do you know how long they'll be before we can be seated. She kept saying they're leaving now... they're walking out. At that moment she should've went in there and told the ppl they needed to leave so the room could be cleaned because the next party had arrived. When we were finally able to get seated we were greated by an underage waitress that had no personality and wasn't the nicest. I questioned her about the drinks on the menu and she stated she couldn't tell me because she's 18. First and foremost she shouldn't be able to take drink orders because she's not old enough to serve alcohol or get a liquor license.

The food was absolutely delicious!! So much so, that we actually went back the very next day! My husband has to come to New Iberia for work quite frequently, but this is the first time I have been able to come along. Needless to say, I WILL be coming back with him again.... in two weeks. Lol. Seriously though, the seafood we had was fantastic!! Oh and be sure to get there early, you can expect them to be packed by 5-5:30, even on a weekday. We went on Tues. and Wed. and they were packed by 5:30 both nights.

Jane's is a local favorite of ours. It's almost always packed, but well worth the wait. There's a small bar so we usually have a drink while we're waiting for a table. I've eaten at Jane's many times and have yet to have a meal that isn't absolutely delicious. One of my favorite things about Jane's is that the healthy options like grilled fish are just as tasty as the fried food. Incredible atmosphere and the service is always excellent. If you're visiting New Iberia I highly recommend eating here.
