A MUST MISS!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!I would give 0 stars if I could. Absolute wort customer service I have ever experienced. Their website says happy hour M-Sunday 3-6pm. well, they said that was a mistake and they need to update their website... Please do yourself a favor and go to RockN'Sake. Overpriced bland sushi with no customer service.

I would rate them a 5 star, but they need to update their website before I rate 5 stars again. I use to visit this restaurant multiple times when I lived in NOLA, and it WAS the best. They had a happy hour Monday-Sunday from 3-6pm. I went to the restaurant because of this and their website also says they have the same happy hour. Instead of honoring it, they just said the site is outdated like that was the customer's fault. Outside of their obsolete website, the food was ok

This place was great. I started with the beef tataki. It was perfect. The ponzu sauce was a little too sweet for my taste but I just added some white rice in to balance it. I also ordered the pepper tuna sashimi. Not the best I've ever had but definitely solid. I loved the way it was served with cucumber underneath. The Metairie and crunchy rolls were very good on soy paper. All together I would say this is definitely in my top 4.

Excellent restaurant, very classy with reasonable prices. Like their take on pad thai, great first time experience with hot sake, finished strong with 3 unique flavors of mochi ice cream. Duck was good but nothing to write home about.

Their tuna app is 7.95 on the menu posted online. Ordered take out and they tried to charge us 12.95. when we showed the guy trying register the menu on our phone, he said prices were updated. he didn't care when my bf pointed out that it was illegal to statw one price and charge another. I can understand an increase in price by a dollar, but $5 for an $8 dish??!?

The pregnant girl with the nose ring doesn't care about her job at all. I called to place a take out order and asked for a Chirachi. She tells me that they took it off the menu a long time ago and started to argue with me like I'm the crazy one. So I had to drive to hoshun and to show her where the chirachi was on the menu. The worst part is after I paid for my food, she didn't even give me all of my change. Why is this person even here if she doesn't care. I hate to say it, but I'm done spending money here. So disappointed.

Came here once about a month ago and it was very good. Came on a Friday night around 10, not too crowded and it was not very good. Got a roll and added escolar to it and I could barely eat it. Picked up the tail from each side and it came right out left the roll on the tray. Attempted to eat the rolls, fell apart every time into pieces,due to not being cut right. Mentioned to the sever and nothing was said or done, other than sorry. Won't be back for a while.

Last night we call in a reservation for 9 people fairly late in the evening. They told us when we arrived there would be a table waiting for us. Upon arrival, we did not have a table and the manager became argumentative, trying to tell us that no one had any reservations on the books. Eventually we were sat in Ava's section. The initial greet took around 25 minutes. Drinking didn't hit the table for another 10 additional minutes. We had to ask the waitress, Ava, three times to put in our dinner order. Our food came out in great time and we were pleased with our food. However, our waitress forgot to put in two rolls, and they came out basically at the end of the meal. The waitress was obviously overwhelmed or didn't care about providing proper service. I understand being busy as a waitress, but there was a lack of communication between the server and guests that could have been resolved if the server knew how to ask for help or let us know that she was extremely busy, we would have understood. At one point, another table was shouting at her to get a drink order in and my sister had to let her know that she had gotten another table. At the end of the experience I saw someone who I assumed was the manager, flagged him down, explained the situation and the most we got from him was a shurg. We fully understand that it was Mardi Gras weekend, but the server seemed under prepared and trained which is an issue that will extend past Mardi Gras. We visit the restaurant when we come into town, but I think that Hoshun will be left out of our New Orleans experience from now on.

Food here is fresh and very yummy! Again, I was too hungry to take pictures, sorry! Definitely try the Cajun Spring rolls & J- Pops off the appetizer menu. I visited 2 times while I was in NOLA for business, had sushi both times. Picture attached is the sushi called the super dome, if you're a fan of crabmeat and salmon go for it. I requested Sriracha & Eel sauce on mine, for a little extra kick! Definitely a place to visit, open till 2am.

Eating at Hoshun is typically a high point of my annual trip to New Orleans, but my experience tonight was so disappointing that I feel compelled to leave a negative review. Service: We only ended up receiving half of the food we ordered. After waiting for 1 hour, we received the sushi we had ordered. One of our party did not receive her drink until this time. When we inquired about the noodles, teriyaki and fried rice we had ordered, our waitress informed us that they were out of noodles and teriyaki, and the chefs had forgotten to cook our fried rice. We were told that if we wanted more food, we would have to submit another order. We ordered miso soup and fried rice, which was served 45 minutes later. Food Quality: As for the quality of the food, the sushi was excellent. But the quality of the soup and fried rice was unusually subpar. Both were lacking in seasoning, and the fried rice was undercooked. It was apparent that both had been hastily prepared. Cleanliness: In this area, the restaurant was severely lacking. Our server never cleared our dirty dishes off the table; we had to move them to one of the many other uncleared tables. The bathrooms were extremely messy, as if they had not been cleaned all day. The paper towel dispenser were empty, and the toilet paper rolls were nearly depleted. I observed at least 4-5 other tables in our vicinity making similar complaints about these 3 issues. At a different restaurant, I might have overlooked these issues due to the fact that it is Christmas Day. But because Hoshun 1) is regarded as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in America, 2) advertised itself as being open on Christmas, and 3) was not even particularly busy (~75% capacity), I simply cannot excuse this negative experience. At this price point, I expect better.

Been going here for over 12 years. I have NEVER had to send back one plate. It's really great to know that when I go here, I know I'm going to get great service and great food! Another cool thing about this restaurant is that it's open until 2am !!! They are super fast at making your dish and getting it right to you! As a true local, I DEFINITLY recommend this place! They also have happy hour menu during the weekdays that starts (I think) 6pm.

The customer service is horrible! Went here for a late night meal and was unsure what to get, my boyfriend asked the waitress about a meal on the menu and she was very rude and sarcastic. He decided on a salad and beef with broccoli. He loved the beef but the salad wasn’t right so he informed the waitress. He sent the entire salad back and it was still on the bill. When he asked why the salad was included in the bill, she snapped at him and said “there’s no returns on food”. This is the first encounter that I’ve ever had this bad especially to this degree. Never again!

BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT in New Orleans! The food is extremely reasonably priced and you get a ton of food, definitely bring friends to help you eat. You can't find better food around town, especially late night. Their noodles are delish and some the rolls are excellent! I live in Slidell so I don't get to get out there much, but whenever I am near the area, I make it a point to visit.

This has become a regular stop for us whenever we find ourselves late night, in this part of town. At the times we go, there's usually not much wait. Nice quiet intimate atmosphere... booths if you want, and no bright lighting like you're dining in someone's kitchen. We have our favorite dishes here and we often include a not too adventurous try at some sushi and an order of crab rangoon. But last time there we made the mistake of ordering a combo plate instead of our usual separate dishes that we'd share. We found the portions smaller and it came with one crab rangoon instead of what we'd get when ordered separately as an appetizer. We'll not be doing that again.

0/10 would NOT recommend. Completely unsanitary and awful food and service. The green beans were mushier than baby food and were drenched in an "XO" yuck sauce. The lo mein sat in a pool of oil, and the miso soup was acidic from the piles of salt. The waiter forgot two of our appetizers, which ended up being a blessing because of how repulsive the food was. We could see into the kitchen and noticed that the food (I.e. fried Chinese noodles on the side of the soup) were being handled WITHOUT gloves and the chefs were eating the food with their bare hands and then going back to cooking. Furniture cleaner spray was sitting out on tables directly next to food. And not to mention the repulsive, unsanitary bathrooms. I came home with a stomach ache and an oily face.

We were looking for a place to eat after midnight, Hoshun was recommended to us by a guy at our hotel restaurant that was closing. Food was excellent. Server was friendly. One star removed because it took us flagging him down to get to go boxes & our check...he walked past us 5 or 6 times. Maybe he was just busy. We'll definitely be back.

Thoroughly enjoy this restaurant. The food is excellent. Cajun spring rolls are tasty, sweet and sour soup excellent and the prices are very budget friendly especially during the 3-6pm happy hour. The lunch sashimi portion sizes are a little small and the Wasabi Tampico portions are just a little too big. Atmosphere is relaxed and parking can be challenging, but generally you can find a spot in the back or side street.

In town from DFW stuck in the hotel and based off the reviews I thought I’d give this place a try. The General Tso chicken has ZERO flavor. My partner ordered a vegetarian meal and it had meat in it. Total waste of $30. Not going to recommend this place.

Here's a bit of trivia about this quiet, low-key restaurant. It was originally built to be a hotel. Apparently, that didn't work out so the owner purchased the building and opened the restaurant in 2018. I have been several times for lunch and the staff has generally been attentive and friendly while the food has always been tasty. I hear it can get quite lively at nighttime, if that's your thing. I'm not sure if the service suffers during later hours. Long story short---give a try. You'll enjoy it, more likely than not.

First of all, our server was great and took care of us. However, my entree showed up with crawfish in it (I ordered pork), and my friends entrees were cold and unappetizing, management refused to send our orders back and even threatened to call the cops on us. We were completely compliant, we just did not want to eat these entrees and did not want to pay for them. I don’t know what happened but this is not okay.

Can't see how this restaurant is even in business. Went for Friday lunch and it was a circus. I asked for manager and there was none to be found. She was apparently removing someone from the schedule upstairs during lunchtime (the busiest time of the day) rather than handling all the commotion coming out the kitchen. We heard yelling and cursing nearly the whole time. We kept getting promises our food would be right out but it took them nearly 40 minutes to make a General's Chicken and we were the only ones dining in the restaurant. There was music playing but it would cut out and that was the time you could hear all the yelling and fighting the most, when the cooks were supposed to be preparing our lunch. There was an eye lash in my guest's soup, but given our seat must have been the farthest from the kitchen, it wasn't worth mentioning, since we only infrequently saw our server and who knows where the manager is. We did ask for noodles instead of rice when we ordered, but that request could not be accommodated. Really, they could not get us Lo Mein instead of rice, even if it was a slight upcharge. That's ridiculous. Needless to say, this circus made me late returning to work, and we ordered from the lunch menu. It was so bad, even the cook walked out. Unfortunately he came back in after he changed his mind after 2 minutes. This is a huge place and it beautiful, but the antics I witnessed today, I will not be back until they close, re-lease a new vendor, and open up as something else. No one in charge and the answers you to your questions don't make any reasonable sense.

Disappointed in the food the experience and the service. After it was so highly recommended. It started out innocently enough promptly seated, friendly hostess. That was the beginning of the end. ‘Twas not busy, and took a good 10 mins for our waitress to arrive. The over cooked calamari was at best a preview of what the grease trap must have tasted like after a corpse had been decaying in it for about a month. It gets better. The 1 Star is for the playboy roll it was very good and that’s when our waitress was the most attentive because she had no choice being that it required her to ignite the dish which was actually delicious. The rest of the meal however was such a let down and we were willing to give it a shot after the calamari fiasco, which was replaced by the crab Rangoon which was just as horrific. The chicken lomein was cold, and the mushu pork tasted like leftovers from the week before. That atrocity should have been illegal to serve.The waitress took my soda to refill it and never brought it back! Then the bill arrived, after expressing displeasure with the food she said a manager would be right over. 15 mins later the waitress had come back with a different bill and did apologize but no management ever came over to the table to ask what the issues were on any level. Will never return, I still feel personally attacked by the calamari. YUCK!

So, they have a crawfish with strawberry slice and champagne sauce roll that was seriously the best sushi roll of my life! I’m from the west coast and have had great sushi in Seattle and San Francisco, but I had never had anything this delicious and flavorful. I loved it so much that I went back twice in one weekend haha
