This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Korean restaurant.
Tasty Korean food. We had bulgogi, with half a dozen traditional side dishes. The beef was marinated with a lot of flavor and was very tender. The dumpling appetizer was hot and crunchy. The serving size was enough to share. It was a nice treat.
Great place to eat.
Pretty darn good for Korean food in Metry. Would go again
The spicy rice cakes and glass noodles are delicious as well as the spicy chicken and pork. I've been a few times and those are my go to dishes.
This was my forst time eating Korean food and wnjoyed ot so much I will be visiting them again.
Food is good staff great
Super friendly and welcoming! The food was outstanding. I have definitely found a new favorite restaurant!
Delicious
One of my favorite Korean restaurants! Fast service and friendly staff. My boyfriend and I come here a lot. Lately we've noticed that the restaurants been getting busier. So, they've added some new items to their menu. I haven't tried them yet. My favorite is their chicken wings!!!!!! So flavorful and u can never go wrong on their bugogi.
This place could have used a working air conditioner. The wait staff might do well to check on their customers more than just once after ordering. I nearly died of dehydration while waiting on a drink refill for my iced tea — the refill never came. There was no doubt the food was Korean but the taste seemed made to appeal toward a more western palate so they lost brownie points on authenticity and lack of "pungent" fermentation which can be key to many Korean dishes.
This place is hit or miss. In restaurant the food is decent. Whenever I order for delivery they are always missing something and are real sloppy with the orders!!! Done ordering from them.
Awesome food
Beautiful.
Well priced, good tasting Korean food. Service was fantastic. Seating is a tad awkward since it's previous tenant was a qsr
The staff is very kind and the dishes are very delicious! The food came as soon as possible and the Kpop music being played made the experience more fun!
So far my favorite place to eat. Service is great. Food taste deliscious, location is perfect and the restaurant is really nice with a lot of light. The only reason why 4 stars is because I think the place could be a little bit more cleaner, the floor looks dirty and a lot of little trash. I dont think they sweep constantly. Other then that perfect.
Simple & delicious. The bibimbap was nice & crackling
Omg such delicious food at such great prices. Also, K-pop videos playing on the TV's makes for an awesome dining experience!!! Amazing pickled side dishes!! You get a huge amount of food for such a small price. Try the wings, I am hooked!
Great place to eat, I would rate it a 5 but they play hip hop radio.
Absolutely my favorite Korean restaurant in the area. Honestly it’s my go-to. Haven’t complained about a single thing: the food, music and vibe is just perfect especially for those who are into Korean music aka KPOP.
The food was delicious and the service was really nice, we love it
Interesting food but the prices will keep me from coming back. Kim Chi soup was great!
Good food at great price, hope more people visit so it sticks around.
Food was fair... decor was modern... music was horrible!! Kpop too much
Delicious. Generous portions. Clean modern atmosphere. Well worth the visit.
This is the best Korean restaurant in New Orleans and a great one overall. Prices are slightly high, but that's Korean food for you. I will be coming here again and again
Best Korean food I've ever tasted.
Fantastic place. The food is amazing and the staff was superb. I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in town. We ate the appetizer nachos and dumplings and had the bulgogi as an entree.
No wait, no bs, and they let you share entrees and get extra small plates. Amazing.
Great display of mainstream Korean culture, A beautiful mural painted on the wall and the food is awesome!
Cashier was cold.
First time here with a friend and I left very satisfied. The food and vibe was awesome, love the kpop music videos. We got free dumplings for our food taking a minute which wasn't an issue at all, service was great. Will definitely be back with my husband!!!
Its solid, its close to what you get in New York. Its the #2 of 3 Korean joints in all of New Orleans area. Three stars is respectable, 4 stars is great and 5 stars is impossible (Michelin).
Had a very nice experience here, great food and service. Will return to eat around there menu.
Yu gae jong is amazing...best winter soup there is
Amazing food and service!
So good! Amazing Dak bulgogi and bibimbap! Mashittda!
Yummy & different. Love the little tastes of Korea they give you!
Amazing!!! Great service, atmosphere, and wonderful food.
Great food. I enjoy the bimibap and the precourse samples they brung out like kimchi and pickled beets.
Food is always delicious and service is always prompt and friendly.
I was impressed the moment I walked in and saw all the delicious food at the tables. I ordered Bibimbap with grilled kimchi and pork added and did not know it came with all of the Korean side dishes. The side dishes them selves were a meal. Everything looked great and tasted even better. When my Bibimbap came out it was sizzling in a stone bowl. They brought out a spicy chilli sauce and I dug in. I wish they had some Korean places in Baton Rouge like this.
Waiter was incompetent, two of four entrees served, ignorant person. Mandu was cold. Pork meat served was ground meat, not Korean by any stretch. If you want it bad go golgi. Pass this place by.
I was not able to tolerate the smell. Ordered nachos but couldn't eat it!
Awesome place to eat Korean food fusion.
Loved everything! Cool place
LA style Korean restaurant!!
Lovely place with great food. They have very tasty little appetizers they add with every meal that are made very well
Nice, small place for Korean food. No personal grills, but they have a good array of bbq proteins and bibimbap. I suggest trying out their barley tea, as well.
Great service, food ad advertised.
Best Korean spot in town!!
Great service, side dishes we exceptional.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Metairie. A great place to take family and friends.
Always delicious and BTS coffee
Casual and quick table service only adds to a positive dining experience. The tender and lean short ribs can feed two when you start with an app and order an extra side of rice. I usually pick over the banchan (the small plates served with the bbq) at Korean restaurants, but each of the dishes were a treat on their own, some sour, some sweet, some spicy. While sweeter than I expected, the plum shoju was a nice complement to the meal. Follow @nola.eats on Insta for more food & dining tips! #nolaeats
Good, I like it for the first time trying it, it was good, do recommend if you like spicy and something different and if you adventures
A little pricey but my go to spot for the nearest Korean food.
Finally a good Korean restaurant in the New Orleans area. My friend loved it and she had never eaten Korean. Very bright lighting makes it look like a fast food restaurant.
All the food is tasty!
Food was great. Service was great. Prices are reasonable.
Really good korean food for late night.
Good food! Good service and fast! Casual with an upscale feel. Food prices were average drinks were dollar more than expected..I also liked the Korean pop music streaming..I will eat here again..
Had the bibimbap. It was good
The wait staff is very nice and helpful. The ambiance is fun, cozy and inviting. It reminds me of the Korean restaurants I see in my favorite k-dramas. There is literally nothing on the menu someone would not like. My favorite dishes are the seafood pancake, the kimchee pancake, the glass noodles. I can not remember exactly what this dish is called, but it is rice with fresh veggies in a steaming hot stone bowl with an egg in top. You mix it all together(I added hot chili sauce I love spice) and it is filling and delicious. I also love the spicy rice cakes. If I could buy a container of their pickled daikon to take home, I would be the happiest woman alive. And on top of it all, the prices are very reasonable. Portions are large. Definitely worth the trip to Metairie every. single. time.
I had the best dining experience ever in an Asian restaurant at Gogi. Not sure if it was my lovely dining companion or the K-Pop music videos on the TV but the Spicy Squid, Kimchi Pancakes and Korean Tea were amazing. Clean bright restaurant with awesome Banchan. My new favorite Korean joint in the New Orleans area.
Great Korean food. Really nice space. Love the art.
LOVE LOVE LOVE .... This is like....my fav place evah.
Trying to find an authentic Korean place is hard to come by after living over there for a year. I was hesitant due to the modern look at first. I sat down with 3 other friends who also lived there and we were blown away. The food is so good and the staff are super great. I am definatrly going to be a regular here.
Clean, modern and chic!! Scallion pancakes we're Great!!!
Great Korean food, and great service, too.
The staff is super sweet and the side dishes are homemade. Super excited and happy to see more korean food options in the city. It's pricey but they give you a good amount of food, so you can split things with friends.
They have good food and the service is good. I was excited to see they had BTS coffee.
Its ok im not crazy about this place and if u sensitive about pork smells do not order pork bibimbob yukgejang soup was so good !
It was good. I don't normally eat Korean food, so hard to tell if it was great!
Food was fantastic and quick service. Servers were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.
Best Korean food in New Orleans for the best price. Hand down! The portions are big and the food flavorful, I love this place.
The food here is so bland. I thought it would be a one-off thing that food doesn’t taste anything at all, but my 2nd, 3rd, and nth visits were all the same overpriced tasteless food.I wanted to like this restaurant so bad but the food is really bland. 2 stars because the atmosphere and kpop playlist must redeem something. Do yourself a favor and go to NOLAKorea or Korea House.
Amazing Korean food and ultra tasty! Been here several times and have never been disappointed.
Best kimche soup ever!
Food was delicious! Excellent service, professional staff, clean, and adequate parking. Will definitely visit again.
Food was delicious. We had the bugolgi ribeye, short ribs, and stone pot rice and we're very pleased with these dishes. Plus, that kimchi was on point.
Excellent lunches and appetizers. Korean dumplings were awesome. Fast, friendly service.
Updated review: Dinged a star, meanwhile the service is exceptional, the same dish I got was different today. Although it was still delicious, I like consistency. The broth wasn't as flavorful (can be seen in the pics), not as spicy, and not as much meat...a bonchon side was also missing =*( Previous review: I've only been here once and this is based on my yukgaejang. The service is friendly and fast. Great selection of bonchons, they give you a lot too. They didn't have lunch specials here, but my yukgaejang was so meaty and loaded, it was definitely worth it. The taste and spice was so good, I can say this is the top 5 yukgaejang I've had and I live near Korea town in Cali so I've had this dish all throughout the U.S. the beef brisket was melt in your mouth delicious! I had to wait for my bf to get off work, so I had to kill some time here. Good thing that they serve it in the hot stone pot, my soup kept warm for a while! My server was very attentive and didn't ask why I've been sitting here for an hour haha. I'll definitely be back.
Love the food but the tables are soooo stick it was pulling my arm hair out! Need to do something about that folks its pretty gross
The good: flavorful food The bad: can only get 1 flavor for entrée size wings
This was my first experience at this place and was pleasantly surprised. I am not really experienced with Korean food so would be unable to address how authentic it was. I went with my wife and 2 teenage kids and we got the nachos, stone pot rice, and the fried chicken dish. Everything was more delicious than they sound and service was great. I did have to take off a star for the price, I will be back but the prices will prevent it from being too often. Dishes average $15.
The food is tasty and the service was excellent.
Great inexpensive food with amazing service. If you want the deeper spice that normally comes from Korean food, you may find it a bit lacking and while the food was great I wouldn't consider it super authentic. Had the pageo and the a lunch special and the portions we're enormous. Then had the coffee for dessert. Don't skip the barley tea for an authentic touch. Will be back.
When you're craving some hot spicy korean but don't want to spend $$$$, this is the best option for you on Sunday. Conveniently located between Target and Café du Monde, the restaurant is modern and cozy. We ordered family style with many dishes so we could share. The service was quick and friendly as the food is made to order. The bibimbop was sizzling when it came out. The ramen was similar to my packaged nongshim ramen I eat at home, so nothing exciting. The Katsu Chicken was crispy on the outside and slightly juicy inside with an interesting tangy sauce. The short ribs and bulgogi were cooked just right with average flavor. The peach soju was refreshing. Almost like a Clearly Canadian but with 12% alcohol content. Great variety for basic Korean. It was a great introduction for the inlaws who aren't familiar with Korean food. They were impressed, but I really enjoy the bbq grill option, which isn't available here. There has been a boom of Korean eateries in Metairie and I hope to have an opportunity to visit the other ones soon.
No frills. Fast, delish. Great value.
Just overall amazing, you'd have to check it out for yourself!
Good quality Korean restaurant in the area
This is d worst Korean restaurant I have been, I had bibbmibap, the vegetables are stale, the rice is tasteless. It doesn’t taste like the bibbmibap I had before. Waste of money
Definitely going back. The food was great.
Amazing and fresh food. Selection is limited but what they have is awesome. Will come back again.
Loved It!
The food is amazing. Can't wait to go back for more!
The nachos are so good! The spicy chicken is one of our favorites too. When you first sit they serve you with a bunch of little sides to go with the meal
Ive gone here twice so far and it has not let me down! Ive had their fried chicken, tteokbokki, bibimbap, japchae, bulgogi, and tofu soup. All were delicious and good service. Very cute little Korean restaurant, I highly recommend!
Love the food
Love Gogi!! The only thing they don't have vs traditional Korean BBQ is you don't cook the meal yourself, but I honestly prefer it the Gogi way. The food and service are excellent, the portions are really big, and if I lived in Metairie I'd be there way more often.
Clean , and good tasting food. Highly recommend for a quick bite
I’m no expert on Korean food but the food we had tonight was absolutely delicious. Good service and fair prices.
I've been here about 4 times and it is consistently good!!! Really polite staff, fast service, and amazing food. Definitely recommend!!
Absolutely delicious food, very courteous service, and a relaxed and pleasant ambiance. If you like Korean food, you'll be delighted here. (I recommend the haemul pajeon!)
The food here was pretty good, but the service was pathetic. After dinner was served, I must have become the invisible man, as we had to walk back to the kitchen to have our drinks refilled. I could tell that I was in for it judging by how long the table next to us took to get their check. You'd be wise to eat elsewhere.
The people were very friendly, the atmosphere was very comfortable and beautifully decorated with vibrant murals on the walls & both the service & food were excellent. We will definitely be coming back again! :-)
We love Korean. This place always satisfies.
Everything we tried was delicious!!!
The food is wonderful and the service is top notch.
The tteobokki was soooo good here! It was the best I've had in a long time. I had the kimchi jigae and it was very tasty. This place has delicious banchan. I liked them all they were seasoned pretty well. I like my kimchi a little more spicy but it was still very good. The food was really filling and delicious. At the time we went the center drink station was out of order so we had to wait for our waiter to refill our drinks but other than that the experience was great. Parking is a little tight and by that I mean like theres not a lot at all. Bathroom was clean.
My original review is left unedited below this one. Originally I gave this place four stars. There is a specific reason why I'm giving this place one star. My go-to Korean restaurant is the Korea House. When Gogi first opened, the food was really good; you can look below this review to see how I felt about the food the first time. Everything was tasty and prepared the way I feel Korean food should be prepared. lived in Osan Korea and ate the local food on a regular basis. In other words, I know how authentic Korean food tastes. One of my favorite dishes of comfort food is bibimbap. That is my go-to dish whenever I go to a Korean restaurant. After my third visit to Gogi, I felt the food was lacking in everything. Something was off. One of the side dishes they give you is called Korean potato salad. It is literally unflavored mashed potatos. That's it. I mean, if that doesn't speak Korean food , I don't know what does. One of the other side dishes was a pickle that came out of a Wickles jar. One freaking pickle . Now, let's move on to tonight. Korea House was closed, and I thought, "Let me give Gogi one more try." This would be my 5th time returning, and I thought maybe, just maybe things would be better. I ordered my favorite food which is it bibimbap. The stone pot came to me warm not hot. The rice was unflavored. There was no sesame oil, and whatever vegetables they had in there were terrible and had a metallic taste. I could not put more than two spoons into my mouth before I had to send it back. I have never in 25 years of eating Korean food sent anything back. The bulgogi look like chopped hamburger meat and a point tasting it realized that it was not flavored or seasoned at all. And on top of that, the bulgogi was cold. This restaurant had every opportunity to be a great restaurant, but there is something lacking in the department of flavor and food preparation. Korea House is the place to go for Korean food. They stepped up their game when Gogi opened. Korea House will always be the place to go get the right Korean food. I ended up sending my food back. So, my friend and I decided to go try the Korean barbecue place uptown in New Orleans on Magazine Street. I ordered bibimbap there, and It was delicious. As far as Gogi, they need to fire that chef and bring in some real traditional Korean chefs that know how to prepare Korean food correctly. That Bulgogi was one of the worst things I've ever eaten in my life. Incidentally, right before we left we asked a few other people who were eating in there what they thought of the food, and they all said that something was off. Some people just eat and pay without complaining. I couldn't do that - just eat something I don't like and then pay for it. I couldn't do that with this food. Gogi has failed on so many levels. And I consider myself a connoisseur of Korean food. --------------- read below for original review. I don't typically give any restaurant 5 stars unless it's an upscale, food network type of place. So I want you to keep in mind that for me to give a restaurant 4 stars, it's saying that I think it's one of the best out there. A bit pricey, but well worth what you pay for. The Kimbap is simply delicious and a must have. I recommend the Bibimbap (a delicious rice dish with beef and vegetable served with an egg on top in a very hot stone pot) and an order of Thuk Poki (Spicy Rice Cakes with fish cakes). Talk about comfort food!!!!! Also, if you have never had bulgogi, you HAVE to try it! This place is one of the best Korean joints I've ever been to. In my opinion, it has The Korea house beat - and I really love the Korea House. This is a place that will make you smile as you eat. The food is THAT DAMNED GOOD! I will be returning.
Nice casual Korean restaurant. Not so authentic and some dishes are not impressive but their banchan is good
Finally great Korean in the greater Nola area!!!! Don't let it's humble aesthetic deceive you, everything from the pickled samplings in the beginning to the spicy stews and bulgogi. Everything fresh, tasty, affordable and plentiful!!!
Great Korean food, nice people.
Spicy is mild, lacks flavor except in side dishes.
Always good food and awesome atmosphere
Charlie was our waiter and he was great and informative
This place was good , totally recommend it....
My 5th visit every thing was wonderful
Place is nice, clean, bright looking. Wait staff is prompt. Food is tasty. Price is slightly steep for me.
Tasty Korean food at reasonable prices in a casual atmosphere.
Great food and staff
The Bbq is good, the soups need work.
This restaurant truly has the best Korean food I have ever had. The staff has always been super friendly with me, and the service has been impeccable. Whenever there has been a wait, the waitress gave us some appetizers while we waited, and quickly cleared a table as soon as one opened up. Although the waitresses could have checked in once or twice after serving the food, and the mains should be served all together, I have no complaints. The place could use a few more waiters, but other than that it's extremely well done. Highly recommended!
Food was great!
The Ramen was great! The meats are fantastic and the service is flawless!
The food is delicious. The service was excellent. The atmosphere is very nice and very clean. I would definitely highly recommend this restaurant for my friends to come and eat. I will definitely be coming back in the future.
Went for lunch and was delighted by the portions of the lunch menu. The beef was seasoned well and the sides compliment it well. Definitely making this a regular lunch stop.
The Korean food here is meh.
The ban chan is very good comes with every meal. The Korean food is excellent. Serving sizes are good.
Excellent service, amazing food! Split plates with your family & friends, or be prepared to take home left-overs.
1st time eating this type of food. awesome I loved it you have to try it
Excellent service. We ordered bulgogi, tofu stew type soup, and it was good. The other dish we ordered, I forgot what it was called, it was too plain, no flavor. Good hang out and eat type of place though.
Nice and small restaurant for friend talk and eat
The customer service was very good, but the food was not. I’ve had real Korean food before and this was not it. I don’t think the cooks or owner are Korean , so that might be the problem. Someone who is Korean should teach them how to make food Korean style, not Vietnamese style.
Very clean and had delicious food. We go often.
Excellent food, always reminds me of eating at a cafe in South Korea.
Amazing food! Loved it!
Great staff, very authentic food
Great food and very cute place, alittle pricey though
Great service, good was good, delivered quickly, music and environment was nice. I plan on going again soon.
That was good! I got the Korean rice bowl with beef!! So many flavors and was super filling!
Great food tad bit more money than i expected.
the nachos were excellent and very friendly service. i had the bibimbap and it was kind of bland. had to put a lot of sauce in it.
Tasty, good service. good basic options.
Great food and service
Lovely place
First time trying Korean food and it was outstanding!
Great food & service! I'd definitely go again!
The food is really good. I always get the kimichi soup, and that is big enoug to share. The side dishes are great and the service is good. The interior design is kind of odd, but if you don't care what the inside looks like this is a great place to get Korean food for a very reasonable price.
"Go"gi get get you some!
Love it... great service and korean is a rare treat around here.
Good food good service
Great place. Server was nice and explained all of our questions regarding the different complimentary relishes brought to our table to eat with the cuisine. Had seafood pancakes and goji nacos, and bulgogi - marinated ribeye and onions and korean sticky rice. Super savory and sweet flavors complimented with the spicy, pickled brine of kimchi and other tasty options. prices were not as much as I expected. Great place if you're in the mood for something different!
Very nice place ..food is excellent...great service.i highly recommend this place ..
Great food and atmosphere.
So this location has been a few places over the last few years. This by FAR is the best. I went to their soft opening and while there was a few small kinks in getting food out, the service was fantastic, the food was amazing, and was just overall really something special.
