REVIEWS OF Galatoires IN Louisiana

Rolonda Mayer

Best old world dining and service in New Orleans! Go here to see how it is done. See everyone in the world who matters! Do Friday lunch or your birthday! Simply the whole dining room will stop and sing when you cake comes out and your waiter calls for their attention!

Mike Pool

Well, if you want to experience the best of New Orleans, this is your restaurant. The historic setting and upscale ambiance sets the mood for a memorable evening. I tried the turtle soup. It is a tomato based, creole seasoned, chef quality interpretation. The result is a mildly spiced, intensely flavored turtle soup. Not many places offer this as a menu item, so I would recommend this as one of your selections. If your attire leans a bit short of business formal, a full menu is available in their full service bar room. Cozy tables and comfortable bar stools are yours to choose from. An attentive bartender will see to your drinks and food as you enjoy this modern step back in time.

Ondine Fortune

The fried redfish with almonds was delicious!

L B

Is not in the same league as the other legacy New Orleans restaurants. I'd skip it. Disinterested, lackluster service. Food just ok. Redfish cooked fine but no seasoning. Bread pudding covered with sweet banana sauce but pudding itself unseasoned and too dense. Shrimp and grits plain although lots of shrimp.

Kim Forget

Our table service was impeccable bur the host was incredibly snooty and got mad at me for having a video chat with my 12 year old son in Canada. I was not loud and the table next to me liked it. Very snobby, great food

Burt Kemp

We always have a great meal

Lane Holmes

Best restaurant anywhere. Truly an experience you will not find anywhere else. Try the Galatoire Goute, souffle potatoes and the fresh fish of the day.

Wapitcha Bent

If your going for lunch make sure you get the sampler. Fridays are the best day for lunch. Everyone is celebrating something or just have a really fun time. Bottles are popping and the dining room is filled with friendly conversation that could cross a table or two.

Nick Angelos

An iconic restaurant in the French quarters. Must go see and eat

Grace Kim

A special old school charm that has been impressively preserved. Friday brunch is very happening, especially on first floor. Come before opening at 11:30am to snag a seat. Get the Oysters Rockefeller.

Goudy Jerry

One of my most favorite restaurants in the world. The food is always good and they exceed my expectations every time I visit.

Colleen Kelly

Delicious food and great service

Connor Colson

Maple Leaf Duck was so cloying sweet the taste is coating my mouth an hour later. I don't mind the prices, but this was a waste of a new Orleans dinner.

Sherry Varrone

A MUST when visiting New Orleans! Everything was outstanding - the food, the service, the atmosphere - when you come in off of Bourbon Street you're in a different world.

Chase Ogden

Really good ambiance, but mostly old people. The shrimp creole was delightful as was the bread pudding. Drinks were too strong and not well mixed. The creamed spinach came out cold and they took it back once we said something. The staff were universally friendly and we would go again. The duck gumbo was as good as my Mama's!

Jay McLellan

Favorite French creole cuisine. Best restaurant in New Orleans. Just ask what's good and have a Sazerac.

Danielle Reed

This place had the look, prices, and service of a fine dining establishment. Unfortunately, the food was not good. We started with the shrimp cocktail and oysters Rockefeller. The plate of boiled shrimp with sauce thrown on top wasn’t visually appealing or especially tasty, and we sent the oysters back because the dried out spinach on top was gross. The ‘stuffed eggplant’ was a huge pile of under seasoned bread crumbs with shrimp and some crab mixed in on top of a thin slice of eggplant. It lacked flavour, was gritty, and was sadly shy on eggplant. There are so many better places to eat in this area.

Michael Borders

We had my grandmother’s 85th. birthday celebration here. We rented a room upstairs. Service, drinks and food were top notch. The filet mignon was out of this world. Great restaurant!

Jeff Patrick

We are from houston and made reservations for 2 in the afternoon on friday before we went to see Chris Stapleton at Jazzfest. The place was chock full of people for the derby (to say it was a full blown party is an understatement) and I was promptly turned away for wearing dockers shorts (with polo shirt, nice shoes, etc) by one of the white waiters (I'm a white guy) rather undiplomatically....on our way out one of the black waiters rather diplomatically mentioned that their bar next door was open for dinner.....not used to being turned away as I have experienced the best restaurants in Houston I was curious how Galatoires measured up so we went to the bar area next door. We got the souffle potatoes, crab maison, oysters enbrochette, duck crepe, seafood gumbo, and bouillabaisse. For such a pretentious place we found out they just don't do soup well as our gumbo was not nearly as good as Tableaus and their bouillabaisse frankly was watered down.....this is a real french soup and very delicious at a legitimate french restaurant. On the other hand everything else was good and their duck crepe was outstanding....and to think I almost didnt order it. Sounds benign but the souffle potatoes were very creative and tasty, I have never seen potatoes fixed like that. Also the waitstaff at the bar were very good as well. I give a two-star rating for rough treatment in the beginning and the soup from the before mentioned. Its obviously a restaurant for the local social cliques.

Nancy Salisbury

Was the best filet mignon I have ever eaten!

Gerardo San Martin

Overrated... Some dishes good, several mediocribly snubish...

Bill Courville

Great food and good service

Victoria S

Vastly dissappointing. Expensive. Food was just okay. Actually, my least favorite meal of our NOLA trip. The wait staff was solid, but you could tell that they weren’t excited about what they were serving. My husband got the trout with crab and I got the shrimp marguery. The trout was okay, a little greasy. The Shrimp Marguery was not good at all. I couldn’t finish it. It was gravy with some shrimp and mushrooms in it, literally. Go somewhere else if you’re looking for a great fine dining experience. We would recommend Cafe Sbisa, or for something a bit more casual but also delicious, Adolfo’s.

Carol Phillips

Always a pleasure to dine at Galatoire's!

hakeem Reynolds

Yep...just call me Cajun!!! Can't wait to go back!!!

FRIDAY LUNCH AT GALATOIRES THE QUINTESSENTIAL NOLA EXPERIENCE

karen ashley

Lovely evening, excellent food and service

Nicole

Very disappointed. We went here knowing that it was more of an upscale restaurant, but being on vacation we didn’t bring the fanciest clothes. We went in looking pretty decent, but were automatically feeling judged by the workers. Also, being on the younger side, we felt as if no one took us seriously. We watched multiple workers and managers check on the tables and make sure the customers were satisfied, however no one checked on us. Besides that, the food was over priced for the amount of food we got. We got very small plates, that were not the best quality. The icing on the cake was when we asked our waiter to split the bill, and he put the whole bill on one card then put half the bill on each of our cards. So basically, my friend got charged triple what she should of. When bringing this up to the waiter, he seemed confused and unwilling to fix the situation. Overall, i would not suggest going here.

Joseph Pearce

Excellent food, service and atmosphere.

Estee Toole

Food was ok. I ordered roasted chicken which had good flavor but was very dry. Not a good meal for the price.

Karen Filos

Simply Delicious! A New Orleans Charm! You must give it a Go! Simply Divine!

Sinan Pismisoglu

Great Food, great atmosphere, great clientele, great staff. Red fish was phenomenal, crepe with Duck was yummy

Bryan Songy

Friday lunch, first come first serve, and not to be missed. As much fine dining as one would need, combined with a celebratory raucous. Not just food, this is an event.

Vivian Xue Rahey

AMAZING. Charming restaurant, great help, I’m sad I couldn’t finish my entire entree because now I regret it

Dr. Maria Clemente

Good food and hospitality

Kaa Blue

Absolutely incredible. Nothing lunch on Friday at Galatoires.

Karen Kunzmann

Wonderful still.. visits 15 years apart still fabulous.. pricey and worth it.

Kirk Chantraine

Super delicious vegetarian options and very good service. The atmosphere is great and people are all very kind. Show up an hour or two before open to put your name down.

Mark Fales

Great Gumbo! Some of the best I think! Lots of duck too!

Stu Johnson

Old school charm in a historic space but with only above-average food.

Luke Southern

Always a remarkable meal. Food, atmosphere, everything about this place is great.

Sean Barrette

Old school food and service.

HILL ROBINSON

Came here for my grandmother’s 80th birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make her feel special. Great service and incredible food. Will be back as many times as I am able!

David Polischak

Loved it ! Staff, service, food and atmosphere. Recommend making a reservations to get second floor dining.

Trenton Judson

Went for lunch and had their Gumbo. Gumbo was great!! The man working the door was very hospitable and sat be in an ideal location to view the pleasant ambiance. I waited a really long time to get any bread or even to have my order taken. Several people were served before me that came after me. I got the feeling my server saw me as a single person and gave his attention to the larger parties that came after me. That's unfortunate because it's such a great place. I may even give it another try is at because everything else went so good.

Hayden Hancock

My god mother had her birthday here and the service was amazing! Rented out the top room and looked over bourbon street all night with an open bar.

Wayne Anders

Fine dining the way it should be. Top notch service and excellent food. Not cheap but worth it.

Aaron Hanz

Of course it was packed and always so loud it's not easy to carry on a conversation, but the food makes it a worth destination. The mixed seafood appetizer delighted the table and my Trout Amandine delighted me! It's nice to visit a restaurant that understands their diners actually appreciate finding crab meat in the dishes that contain crab meat.

Paul Burke

Anyone who leaves a bad review for this restaurant is out of their mind! Hands down the best restaurant in New Orleans!

P Newcombe

Demond gave us tour of the place, Tres bien!!! (Sp)

suzanne cliffe

Galatoire's is always good. We've never been disappointed. The soft shell crab, when in season, is exceptional. As is the speckled trout, with or without lump crab meat topping.

Kevin Ritschel

Very good food and service but noisy.

rhubers

The ribeye and the mushrooms i had on the side were the best. Great job guys. The service was impeccable

Dean Thomas

Food was average. The best thing was the char grilled oysters. I would not call this fine dining, but it was a decent place.

Ed Revugh

The vibe didn't warrant the price. You can get similar food for much less elsewhere. It didn't feel like fine dining.

Stephen Manuel

A great French Creole restaurant, this is not Cajun food. Great service and great atmosphere

Joann Marks

New Orleans landmark. Love their pompano with crab meat on top. Eat downstairs for a true new orleans experience or upstairs for quieter experience. Friday lunch us the time to see all ladies who lunch..

Jonathan Kirkpatrick

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and our waiter, Sonny, was perfectly attentive and made great suggestions for our entrees. I'm pretty picky, but I think the only negative I can think of was that it took the sommelier a while to locate the bottle of wine we ordered.

Tammie Holley, Attorney at Law

Donating a Frenchy painting to these guys! Love Galatoires! The best of the best.

Raoul Duke

Service is oustanding, and food is fantastic. 3 course Summer Coolinary lunch is a great way to try if you haven't been before.

Tara Levy

The gumbo was delicious, but I went around 3pm and I was the only one in the restaurant. I highly recommend checking out peak times to go. The services was excellent though.

Monique McGowan

Not much for what you’re paying for, but more than that it’s the way we were treated. As a local, I was looking forward to dining in this famed restaurant, but Galatoire’s still exists in a time where black people weren’t allow to eat in their restaurant & that is how they treat people of color in their establishment. No one checked on us, and the waiter tried to avoid us at all cost & only did when it was absolutely necessary. The “manager” constantly passed us, checked on other tables, but bypassed us each time. This place is not worth your hard earned money, or your time. Please enjoy yourself at any one of the other restaurants whose hospitality isn’t racist.

Katie E Hoffman

Always outstanding. The food is delicious. It is a new orleans staple. I highly recommend the whole experience. You will definitely see a lot of different fun characters, the wait staff is amazing, food and drinks are bountiful and amazing. I've never left unhappy. Great place that will leave you with the best memories!

Helaana Caplett

Each one of these stars is for the food only. I could have given more stars if only rating the food but since this review is for the restaurant as a whole I feel this rating is generous. My experience couldn't have been further from a fine dinning experience. The horrendous service started at the check in. Extremely unfriendly as we were told to go upstairs to check in. We should have turned around at that point. We were seated and the server finally came to greet us and take our drink order. I asked a question about one of their specialty cocktails and received a one word response. The drinks arrived and they were tasty. We waited and waited for our server to return to order another drink and ask questions regarding the menu. At one point we got up to look for someone to assist us. Other tables were having a better experience than us as we heard them go over the menu in detail and receive prompt refills and attention. We had to ask our server numerous questions to get any information out of him. The appetizers arrived and the dropped the food and left. No new plates were offered or was the tabled crumbed after the bread service. We had to ask for all of that as well. No one asked how the food was or checked in on us after the entrees either. The food was tasty so no complaints there except for dessert. The key lime tart was terrible. It tasted worse than a grocery store dessert. High recommend the duck crepe and the blackend redfish. We also reached out to the restaurant regarding our experience and no one ever replied. With all the amazing restaurants in NOLA I would definitely skip this one and find another that appreciates their customers. I couldn't wait to leave this restaurant and I can say I've never felt that way in a restaurant before.

Christopher Bennett

Another in along line of great meals and memories that we have shared at Galatoires over the years, may it never change.

Katie Boland

The food was absolutely wonderful. The service on the other hand will make it an easy decision to never go back.

Laserman04 Laserman04

Love the Turtle soup. Eggs Sardou cooked to perfection.Fresh bread yum...

Kenton Smith

Great food, amazing service, and an ambiance you'd expect from a classic southern restaurant. Would definitely come back. Prices were also very reasonable for the quality and high-level of service.

Nathan English

Food was good as usual. Service was off, the sides where not put in with the rest of the meal and the server had to leave in the middle to take some one to the hospital. I would still highly recommend going if you are in town, great atmosphere and food.

Mary Billiot

Delicious fine dining at it's best. Food is great, service was spectacular, professional and friendly staff.

Kale Wright

A tiny salad plate with cold cocktail shrimp and the cheapest lettuce possible (iceberg) was $24. The dressing was very good and the fresh bread was, too.

jerry bauer

Chelsea B. Was a fantastic waiter. She made our table feel very much at home and like one of the family. I tried way too many dishes and each one was quite good. The place was delightfully not loud and a welcome break from the barrage of noises outside. It was an overall enjoyable dining experience and I will be back for more before I leave town.

Todd Jetzer

Food had virtually no flavor. Waiter was there only for a paycheck. Once the food was brought to our table he was a ghost until it was time to bring us our check. We had no opportunity to let him know our thoughts on the meal until it was time to pay, and at that point it didn't matter. It was a very disappointing experience for what was supposed to be a great meal. We had a great time visiting New Orleans and will be back again, but not to this establishment.

David Young

Great old school classic restaurant. Ambiance is awesome. Food is good but some Items could have been a little tighter in presentation and taste to me.

William Netherland

Friendly and attentive staff. Food was excellent! Highly recommended. My only drawback was the singing of “Happy Birthday” every once in a while which seemed a little unbecoming of the atmosphere.

Julie Jordan

I am giving three stars instead of two due to the impeccable service and the Oysters en Brochette. The oysters were perfectly cooked and crispy with a beautiful bacon flavor. Our server Brittney was friendly and helpful with suggestions regarding popular dishes. I was so looking forward to eating at this iconic Bourbon Street restaurant. The Crab Sardou was tasty but riddled with crab shell pieces. The artichoke hearts had very tough strings in them. We were really looking forward to the Bread Pudding because of the reviews but I found it dry - more like a French toast casserole. The Sweet Potato Cheesecake had too much nutmeg. The Black Bottom Pecan Pie was the best of the three we tried but nothing to rave about. Very disappointed in a meal I was looking forward to and paid a hefty price for. Go somewhere else if you want to experience an iconic meal in NOLA.

Richard Kline

Classic old New Orleans. If you go on Friday afternoons it is as if you stepped back I time. Remember to dress properly and you will enjoy your time. Don't be in a rush.

Brandon Peters-Mathews

Food was pretty good. The bachelor and bachelorette parties loudly taking over the main dining room spoiled the evening. I won’t visit again.

Trish Gorson

Fantastic, amazing food, great ambiance, I highly recommend it

Michelle Chan

Was late to the game in making any reservation, therefore a larger group of 5 was hoping they'd have room for us on the main floor 'reserved' for walk-ins. Karen, the wonderful hostess, worked her magic and we didn't have to wait for too long. Our waiter, SKIP (otherwise known as chip to some), was absolutely accommodating, incredible and provided a wonderful supper service. Everything ordered from duck crepe, steak, crab au gratin, sides, fish and shrimp were incredible.

Eliot kamenitz

The food is good but what really sense of place is the overwhelmingly friendly staff which is very accommodating. Any of the fish dishes are always very good as well are the appetizers especially the crabmeat Maison. Their bouillabaisse was okay. I love the setting and I love the place. It just makes you feel special and warm.

Kevin Young

What a Birthday celebration and Jordan and Kevin where awesome. My wife was cold and under the weather and they did so much to try to make her comfortable. 30yrs of desiring to dine here and it was worth every minute of the wait.

Brian E

Private dining here is the way to go. Awesome food and service. Highly recommend this to everyone.

Ronni Brant

Excellent food and service. Highly recommended.

CarLo ThaStrippa

This place was very upscale, I didn't have a jacket but they provided me with one. The staff was very polite and helpful. Everything we ordered was so delicious! And the cocktails were great too!

Thomas Luby

Best fine dining in New Orleans. Jacket required for men!

Pooja Warudkar

Great food!! Enjoyed the lunch special..

John McAuley

TERRIBLE DIN throughout. WE HAD TROUBLE TALKING TO EACH OTHER ACROSS. THE TABLE . MY SOUP WAS COLD AND HAD TO BE WARMED UP. AND MY ENTRE WAS COLD ALSO AND HAD TO BE WARMED UP. OUR WAITER, ROBERT WAS UNCONCERNED AND INATTENTIVE. THE BUSBOY, NICOLAS, WAS FANTASTIC AND RECEIVED THE MAJORITY OF OUR TIP. AFTER ALL THAT THE FOOD WAS ONLY OK. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK.. IF YOU ENJOY A VERY LOUD DIN AND DO NOT BEING STUFFED INTO A MUCH TOO SMALL AREA AND SO-SO FOOD THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE WARM AND TASTY, THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU. BONSOI

Karen Shelsby

I ate at Galatoires over 40 yrs ago and could still order the same delicious food last night. Its familiar and flavorful, from Shrimp Remoulade to Trout Meunaire. Delightful staff and a great throwback to old New Orleans.

Jesse Benavidez

One of the most elegant restaurants that I have eaten in New Orleans. The food was tremendous the service was great and the staff was very enjoyable and helpful.

Michael Hodsdon

Good but not as good as expected.

P Mizell

Friday lunch is one of the great American experiences. Everyone should try it once. Plan on about four hours. Great food, loud, fun, drunken revelry. You’ll make new friends you’ll never see again until maybe next time you come back. You have to wait in line for a table, call ahead and ask what time you should be there, some Fridays are worse than others.

Liz T

Love this place. A scene and a place to be seen but so much character.

Quinn Martinez

Galatoires was nice! However the service was dull and twice the food was contaminated and there was no kind of reaction from the service either time I brought it to my servers attention. For the appetizer there was dirt in the butter. Later for the main entree there was a piece of tin foil in my aunts food. Besides that the food could have been great. Maybe we just got a server who did not want to get in trouble or get the kitchen in trouble. But if you’re thinking of going here maybe try looking at Bayona or commanders palace instead!!!

Thorne Little

Food was outstanding. Some many choices of fish. They cater to your tastes

markus23

Elegant old world dining experience, a perfect evening.

S Johnson

Although we were told to come on Thanksgiving, I thought I had stepped back in the sixties when our group was humiliated, rudely spoken to and turned away. We were a family with most of them visiting New Orleans for the holiday. Yet, Galatoires did not represent the city! They had been helpful and nice on the phone, but just the opposite in person. It left a bitter taste for each of us and a reluctance for some to ever want to return to the City. You definitely did not live up to Cresecent City tradition or to the 300 year Anniversary of New Orleans.

Helen Vigil

Great food. Nice atmosphere as always.

Vikas Kumar

Delay in service, missed order... They not split bills.

Sandra Preston

We love Galatoire's, have been coming here a long time for the great food and warm welcome.

ireneinmia

Really good food and service. Their bread is amazing.

Gary J.

Good steak, sides, potatoes and house red wine. Service disappointingly spotty this time, but a fun (loud) Galatoires people-buzz in the air..

Cate Brantley

Was excited to come here as it’s an institution and hadn’t made it here when we lived here. Food was terribly bland, just shy of hospital food. It wasn’t outright bad but I had enough after a few bites because it was just...mush. The side of potatoes was great though! Our dinner was interrupted twice by tacky birthday celebrations where the entire restaurant is encouraged to sing. We didn’t order drinks and the bill was 75 dollars. Absolutely wouldn’t go back but I guess it’s nice to say I finally went.

Matthew Austin

Excellent service, lovely cocktails, and delicious food. The black drum was awesome.

Emily Bradford

Great food! However, when making reservations men wearing a coat was “strongly recommended,” but it was never relayed as required. After waiting for 10 minutes in front of the hostess and other staff, we were seated and nobody stated a coat was required. In fact, a lady was eating in the dinning room wearing a sweat shirt, another wearing leggings, and a gentleman was wearing jeans, and another not wearing a coat as well. However, the manager approached our table, in front of several others in our party, and called out my husband for not wearing a coat. The others were never called out and not required to get up and put a coat on or change their attire. It was embarrassing and discriminating due to inconsistency. Not acceptable!

Arthur Owen

Food is okay but the service was horrible. After waiting a half hour for the food to arrive at our table the waiter bought out our entrees before serving appetizers. Thus we had to wait some more while appetizers were prepared and then we were served our entrees that had been sitting in the kitchen for 20 minutes. A truly horrible dining experience.

Jennifer Steele

Amazing food and beautiful venue for a wedding party! They even had baskets full of beads to toss

Leslie Beggs

When in New Orleans you have to do galatoire's it is so much fun and a great experience

Lola Brown

We went there on a very busy night. We waited 12 minutes or so for a seat then it took forever to order. We ordered Caesar salad , oyster rockafeller and lobster. The oysters came out cold. But once they were heated and hot they were great. After 45 minutes of sitting and waited for out meal we were told the lobster is unavailable because the quality is bad. We never received the salad. We decided to leave.

A Pendleton

Fantastic food, service and atmosphere

Cara Murphy

We are from the Midwest visiting NOLA on vacation and planned to go here for a fine dining experience. The staff was friendly and helpful but the food and ambiance I would describe as dated. The drinks are extremely heavy. It felt like I was drinking straight from the bourbon bottle! The food was hit or miss. My dish was good but the peas were were obviously canned which I found to be unacceptable for a fine dining restaurant. Overall it was fine but not worth the price.

Raouf Naguib

Piece of history in the middle of bourbon street. Gentelmen Need to have a jacket on. They have loners.. food was good. Service was great. Owner / manager was very accommodating.

Lisa Hall

It has held its own as a New Orleans landmark, and rightly so. The place, ambiance and service is superb, and it's undeniably NOLA all the way...classy and fun. The food is what upholds everything else! The food is amazing! I dream of their Crab and Shrimp Remoulade appetizer, but everything, everything is good. I've tried most of them, so many dishes, over many deliciously visits. P.S. Don't skip dessert!

Harriet Oliff

New Orleans' Best! We had a wonderful meal. Service was top notch. The food was classic New Orleans' faire cooked to perfection. We were amazed to be able to walk in and get a table right away.

Kevin Lewis

We waited for 1:52 minutes for our food. We did have a large party of 12. However, half of the table had to send their food back due to steaks either being cold, under cooked, over cooked. One guest received his food 2:15 minutes after his order. Simply put, this is not acceptable for a restaurant that claims to be a 4 star restaurant. If you visit NOLA avoid. Save you time, money and aggravation.

Rob Tulloh

Old style charm. You must have a jacket to dine here. Fortunately, they can provide one to you. Shrimp dishes we ordered we're all amazing. The waiter was excellent at leaving us alone and making sure our meal was coordinated perfectly.

Hope Vickers

Fabulous dinner. Wonderful, romantic setting. Excellent wait staff and sommelier.

Gery Williams

An annual event to celebrate two Spring birthdays. Always fun! Always great.

Ronnie Hopkins

A high end restaurant, in the big easy, that is a must , for a fine Creole dinner and some wonderful cocktails.

Daniel Wilcox

Delicious. Never changes.

Helen Dunkley

Made reservations 3 weeks ago to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Made sure I said that, when I made them. Confirmed reservation when I arrived in town, again was confirmed. Arrived and was seated downstairs in the loudest room, not upstairs where I was told reservations are. A large party made reservations, so they just moved us to the general room. My husband and I couldn't even have a conversation. To top things off, the table was up against the wall, so tightly, that the table next to us had to move in order for us to be seated. The food? Well my husband ordered a Red fish which he said was good. I ordered a shrimp plate with potatoes and peas, not so good. They noticed I didnt eat my dinner and did not charge us, added the desert for free. We were looking forward to this dinner, it did not live up to the hype! Will not be returning, and will not recommend to my family and friends.

Joel Fulton

Had a great dinner celebrating my girlfriend's 30th birthday!!!

M B

Gotta be honest...I may have been disappointed because I had such high expectations. Steak was well undercooked (rare/med rare instead of medium) and the onion rings were also undercooked. Fish meals were good enough but not as mind blowing as I had set myself up for. There were some good pros though. The 209 cocktails were delicious, the duck crepe appy was insanely good and the spinach Rockefeller side was my favorite (dress in Tabasco!!!). The service was exactly what I expected though. Absolutely impeccable. Warm, friendly, informative and accommodating. Our server was an awesome gal by the name of Jordan. She was amazing!!! Overall, gave Galatoire's three stars because I think I could have had a better meal for much less money but the experience and service was worth it.

Staci Mumford

So amazing. Had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. Thanks to the amazing staff!

David Godfrey

Great food, attentive service.

TL briggs

One of the best dinner we have on our visit. Good and fast service Thank you!

Chira Slone

We were underwhelmed with the food quality. The servers were spot on!

Michael Gregory

Finally made it and it was worth the effort and money. Great neighborhood atmosphere I was not expecting.

Jesse Evans, Jr.

Great view of Bourbon Street. We had a variety of dishes, but I must say the fish was extraordinary. Great food and excellent service.

David Bowden

Best in New Orleans, possibly in the south!

oromis995

I ate here today and the service was excellent, Mr Charlie took really good care of us and made us feel very welcome. Our glasses were never empty and everyone was very pleasant. They made my grandmother's birthday very good. The only thing is that it would have been nice to get bread plates.

Brandon Melancon

Very pricey! But worth it because it is very upscale and the atmosphere is extremely professional!

Amina Garau

iNot up to the expectations. Very noisy and loud. Not romantic.Food choice disappointing

Salma Bakr

We were a group of six. We liked the atmosphere, the decor and the waiters’ uniforms, which sort of took us to an old black and white movie. However, the food was a disappointment, especially for such an expensive fine dining spot. Some of the entrees were on top of iceberg lettuce which directly put us off. The potatoes au gratin were tasteless and they barely had bechamel and cheese. The spinach and cauliflower side dishes seemed to have been boiled from frozen bags, and not from fresh ingredients. My main was shrimp marguery; I expected a richer meal with a creamier texture and more shrimps. Had a Virgin Mary which was too salty; I didn’t get to finish it. The only bit I enjoyed was the dessert. Had the sweet potato cheesecake which also had pecans and a touch of caramel sauce. I wish we had found reservations at the Commander’s Palace that night.

Glenn Story

Food and service was great.

Toby Biggs

Best dinner in town! It won't disappoint.

Susan Fonger

I had the trout Amandine - so perfect it is hard to describe in words. Our wait staff was superb. It was a bit noisy due to New Year's celebrations and Birthday parties, but if you can raise your voice, this dining experience is hard to beat.

david goldberg

Celebrated an important event with friends here. Staff were attentive and the food was classic and well prepared. Fantastic.
