Food was hot, familiar and very good. I love Chinese food and empress of China had a familiar menu but, all food made in their own way. They had great hospitality, prices were awesome and service time was on point. I do recommend this place for a great lunch and dinner.

The food was excellent though when speaking to the waitress you need to speak up. I think she's a little deaf or something got lost in the translation. I want the skinless chicken breast with vegetables instead got the Fried Chicken with vegetables. Was good and a good bang for your buck. Plenty of food to go around.

My favorite Chinese restaurant ever! The BEST Pepper Steak & Crab Rangoon!!! Great quality ingredients, lots of fresh vegetables & delicious authentic sauces! Beautiful Chinese art displayed, great service & the lovely fish swimming in the pond make Empress of China always memorable!!!

My mother-in-law and myself ordered Mandarin Chicken the chicken was severely overcooked the Mandarin sauce came on the side and taste like something us Cajuns would use to make a roux I would not recommend or go there again not please we put things and I go box and I will give it to my dog because she loves chicken whether it's overcooked or just fried so find another Chinese place to eat this was not Chinese food it was Cajun roux

I absolutely love Empress of China. This is my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is always hot and fresh, and the portion size is very generous. I absolutely love their sweet and sour chicken combo. It’s absolutely excellent.

The food is good. There was a little wait but it was because the food was fresh, a made to order type thing. The serving sizes are large (and I can eat!). The server was courteous and saw to it that we were comfortable and had a good experience. The space is a bit small for my liking but besides that I really had no issues.

I absolutely love Empress of China!! The food is always excellent, served piping hot and you don't have to wait long on take out or dine in! When dining in, ask for Ms. Debbie!! Be sure to tip well because she goes above and beyond!! She's the sweetest ever and provides excellent customer service! The portions are ridiculously large and for the price, the value is amazing!!! Three of my favorites are the mandarin chicken, cho cho and royal kung bo!! You won't be disappointed...

I can't decide whether the food or service is more superior at Empress of China. I have thoroughly enjoyed everything I have tried there. The pineapple and shrimp curry fried rice brings tears to my taste bud''s eyes. The waitstaff is second to none. If you should find yourself on the Westbank of the mighty Mississippi River and in need of some high quality eats, this is your place.

The restaurant is very nicely decorated. The food was really good. Be cautious though you get a lot more food than what you think your ordering, which is a great thing in my book! Our 2 plates could have fed at least 5 or so people.

Slightly better than China Doll. Seems like some of the prices went up and quality went down. After hurricane Katrina felt like it was the best Chinese on Westbank. But after last couple of visits I may have to reevaluate that and try other restaurants.

Went here not so long ago with a big group of family, definitely the place to go with a big group of family the wait staff was friendly, some of my party didn’t like the food but I thought it was great. Westbank Institution, think about the first Chinese restaurant you went to as a child, pre-90's. It has the ambiance, the great service, and an extensive menu. Everything we have tried has been fresh, hot, and delicious. Also enjoy their sister restaurant-China Doll.

Hands down, THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IN THE CITY!!! They are a little more expensive than the average chinese food restaurant, but the make up for it in quality and huge food portion. They also have the Hawaiian Grill. Cant go wrong with the Chicken and Broccoli. Also try the Thai and Pineapple Rice.

It was the first time to visit this restaurant during our trip. People here are nice. Their portion size is too generous. Two people can share one. The juice is not fresh. After we went back to home, we found we were charged 18% mandatory tip and we did not read the receipt carefully and gave another 15% tip. Take care foreigners or new visitors!
