REVIEWS OF Cochon RESTAURANT IN Louisiana

Evan Kase

Everything our server recommended was spot-on delicious. No words to describe the smoked pork chop (from blue Berkshire pig; the special of the day) and Louisiana cochon with cabbage, crackling and picked peaches. The buttermilk ice cream was excellent with the fried apple pie. Just all-round excellent ingredients, treated with terrific technique, and in perfect balance. And served in a casual, friendly atmosphere.

Richard Sandy

Excellent fine dining. Would recommend one try it. Friendly service.

Omar Barnhart

We knew we were going to eat here during this trip, even with all the other places to go. And I am so glad we did. The staff were great. The food was excellent. I don't like to write about food because taste is subjective but I know that everything we tried was well made and made us happy. And it is reasonably priced.

Kathryn Justice

Good service great food

Heather J. Radloff

Get the oysters. Trust me. Get the oysters. SO SO SO GOOD! My husband had the Rabbit and Dumplings, I had the Louisiana Cochon. Both were quite good! Very pleased, and had a great dining experience. The menu is a bit unusual and very unique, and most people will find something fantastic to munch on. If you are picky, this might not be the place for you, BUT FOODIES do this.

Latoya Mewborn Joyner

I don't know where to start. The staff were super nice and helped me pick put my drink choice. Thank you! The food was to die for. It was family style serving and incredible. I tried food I never thought I would try, like alligator. The collards were so flavorful and the fish just melt in your mouth.

ms danielle

I ordered the cucumbers and herbs in vinegar as well as the smoked pork ribs with watermelon pickle ans a side of mac and cheese. Food was delicious! Very filling so come with an appetite.

Doreen R

My first visit to New Orleans and this food was an amazing start! I had the BEST ribs and greens EVER!! I cannot wait to visit again... sooooooo deelicious!!

Sarah F

Overpriced, limited menu. The customer service was excellent. Servers are knowledgeable about the specialized cuisine. One of our party of four enjoyed the food.

Tejas Dharankar

We enjoyed my husbands birthday dinner

J Lunar

The smoked rib appetizer is excellent!

Cara MacDonald

If you like food, then you’ll love this place! I came in today with a big group. We couldn’t decide what to order so we decided to go family style. Every

Sari Custer

Food was excellent in this upscale local joint! Try the crawfish pie and gumbo for sure. Portions are not huge, but we ordered several things to share and it worked out well. Good service to boot.

Dan Traina

I've been to Cochon a number of times now, and each time they always surprise. They have a menu that does change around some. But they never sit back on their laurels. True, sourcing ingredients does matter. But it is the execution of proper technique that speaks to the finish of a dish. This last visit to Cochon, I thought, was the best their food has been. Cheers

Jeffrey Mitchell

Inspired southern eats! Really really good refined takes on classic dishes. Had lots of small plates...no flops. Favorite oyster dish I have ever had is their wood fired take cooked in chili garlic butter....wow!

Jaina Mistry

Possibly the best food I ate while in New Orleans. And the service was fantastic. Let the server recommend some items off the menu for my group to order family style. We had one vegan in the group, and she got a double blind offering from the chef - love that they do this! If I'm ever in New Orleans again, Cochon will be a must

Mitchell Kurtzer

Cool hipster vibe. Loved this place. From our delightful and knowledgeable server Francesca to the overall food experience. Unique, well-prepared and delicious!!!

Philip Gonzales

Service was atrocious. We stopped in for a late lunch at 2PM on our way from Destin Florida. We sat and waited for 30+ minutes for someone to take our drink order. At this time we were told our waiter was busy. Another 30+ minutes go by as we watched all the other waiters standing around idly twiddling their thumbs while we tried to figure out who our waiter was. We basically had to beg another waiter to take our order as we were starting to get hangry with all the waiting. Food was good but should not have taken an hour to get our order in.

Carl Gerhart

Food was very impressive- high quality play on BBQ where all the meats are made in house. The sandwiches at my table were exceptional. I would of given a 5 but the system of sitting after ordering needs a Hostess to help keep the busy location flowing better after you order. I will say once we set the staff were prompt and great experience.

Christine Umbertino

Food was extraordinary, service impeccable and generous drink menu

John Manupella

Excellent, local ingredients, lovingly prepared in haute fashion in a laid back casual atmosphere. So good! Staff are happy to make recommendations, so ask.

Steven Patterson

Great food. Larger than I had thought and seated in 2nd room. The "wood fired" options made Cochon a little different. The wood fired oysters were amazing. The alligator with chili sauce was very good as well. Last, the jambalaya was well done. The flavors that we enjoyed here were memorable and made this one if our favorite stops in NOLA.

Eric Baker

Went for dinner without reservation. Lucked out, there was a cancellation so we got in. I had the hamhocks which were pretty good but could have been better with some sides besides the dab of rice provided. Wife had a pulled pork dinner (can't recall what it was called). She said it was very dry and should have included some kind of sauce. Waiter was great and service was very efficient. Price was not terrible.

Kevin Strauss

Excellent lunch at Cochon. The appetizer selections were fantastic. Pickled veggies and house made meats were delicious. I had the bacon and oyster sandwich. It was enormous! Flavors were great, nice smoky bacon paired with oysters and tomatoes. The side of mac and cheese casserole was tasty too. Highly recommended.

Carl W.

Waiter was excellent and kid friendly. We had the fried alligator for appetizer. The kids even liked it. The rabbit dumplings were good. The whole family liked the taste and tenderness of the rabbit. We would eat there again.

Eric M.

It was very good... The staff was great . We enjoyed most everything but, it was loud. I wouldn't go there for an Intimate dinner. Honestly I just liked it, I didn't love it.

Greg Johnston

Excellent. Made me a drink not on menu. Accommodating to say the very least. Portions not too large. Just right for a meal if you plan on being mobile.

Bryan Pizzillo

I have only been to New Orleans twice and both times went to Cochon. Both times were fantastic. It is hard to say this about most restaurants, but nothing my wife and I got both times was bad. Sometimes a place has a bunch of really good dishes and maybe one meh dish. Cochon had good dish after good.

Allie Wadsworth

Best food in New Orleans! Remember to make reservations if you're planning on going at night or on a weekend. I recommend the oysters to start, any entree, and the butterscotch pudding for dessert! We thoroughly enjoyed sitting at the chef's counter.

Amber Bloechle

Gluten free menu (just ask), excellent service, and overall great experience here. I ate at food bar and enjoyed seeing food made. Mac and cheese was a popular order in the fire oven. Ordered sweet tea, a salad and lima beans (smokey and wholesome- not your gmas lima beans). Tasty!

Torsten Voigt

Very delicious food and a great space. We were not impressed by the service though. The servers forgot two of our orders, offered us a meal that turned out not to be available, were relatively slow to serve food and did not appear to be overly friendly.

Kali & Bo Rada

We recently had a rehearsal dinner for our wedding at Cochon and had a very lovely visit! The staff were wonderful throughout the whole planning process and were very accommodating the night of our event. The food was delicious and the team accommodated for all of our dietary needs! We highly recommend Cochon for a large party or even just a date night!

Hjalte Mansa

This is a beauty! A bit outside of the French quarter, but easy walk or cab ride! And the food! The food is amazing! Tasty, succulent, hearty cajun food! If you want a great local dining experience, this is a must go! Reserve table in advance or be prepared to wait.

Aurélien Ouv

A very good place! Nice people, good food for a correct price. Meals are tasty.

Becca Gervasio

Phenomenal service, drinks, and flavorful food. Recommend to anyone in the city.

T N

Pie,greens, mac and cheese all tasty. Didn't realize you have to go to the butcher shop behind if you want budain links

Jeffrey Bloomer

Great quality and good service. The place itself look fantastic. The food quality was excellent. The only downside was the noise level in the dining room and a menu that was a little limited, and the price a tad high for what you get. Overall still a good experience and I would go back again.

Lenora Ebule

Everything we tasted was simply DELICIOUS!! This was a mouthwatering experience and the service was exceptional. Easily one of my top 10 restaurants ever!

Rob Flask

Anthony Bourdain was right, this place is great

Kurt Bachelder

Start to finish, amazing food. One of those places where you can tell that each and every dish that leaves the kitchen has been lovingly designed and built, not just tossed in a plate and sent out. Presentation was simple but beautiful, and the aromas filling the restaurant will make your mouth water from first bite to last. Try a "rum the mules" drink, get dessert, indulge. Wait staff was attentive and friendly, very knowledgeable, and all around excellent. If you are going with friends, plan on sharing! Excellent meal, will be back!

Window Licker

Food was a little spicy for my taste, but they were quick to offer me something else when I mentioned that. Food was excellent once they gave me the less spicy one.

Sean-Franc Strang

Everything about Cochon is great. High class Cajun cooking with a focus on pork... you'll have to try the signature Cochon, which is so succulent and full of flavor. Not a cheap place but the food is well worth it. Reservations are definitely recommended, but you can always hangout at the nearby Butcher bar which sells the t-shirt you'll want to buy to remember what a great time you had.

Jeffrey Peterson

Great food. Went during lunch. Has a variety of food for those adventurous folks including rabbit, duck, and alligator (which the alligator appetizer was incredible—I was just going to “try it” but ended up eating four or five pieces). Would definitely go back.

Suraj Arikatla

Being my first visit to NOLA and Cochon, I was excited and was expecting a great palette of flavor when I and my partner both ordered Jambalaya. All the expectations were shattered when the food arrived. Both of our Jambalayas were no way similar. Mine seemed to be burnt and my partner's looked fine in a pale brown color. I had a bite and confirmed it was burnt. Having never eaten a Jambalaya before, I asked the waiter regarding the dish being burnt. He responds saying that's how it should be and I for sure didn't buy that. We asked for a replacement dish and this time comes the actual Jambalaya how it's supposed to be. It amazes me that given the price they charge for the quantity, one would expect an immense flavor in the dish. But, how did this even get out of the kitchen? I would still give two stars because of the Fried Alligator which was cooked to perfection and the wood-themed ambiance which must have been even better in the night.

Shayne Kuhaneck

Really great food, great service, great drinks. Not much to complain about here. Good mix of stuff for cajun food lovers but also "normal" stuff in case others in the party are not into that. Would totally go out of my way to visit again if back in NOLA.

Katherine Kennedy

Delicious food, great service & perfect atmosphere.

Josh Love Ecksmith

The ambiance is well managed. There is a working smoker that fills the air. The furniture is spaced well enough to allow for easy travel. The staff was attentive.

EJ Villa

Had a great time here. My first creole food experience. Great food. Great service.

Jeff Hurlich

Short rib, bbq ribs and mac & cheese side dish were our favorites. Waiter was great - very friendly & helpful with suggestions. Alligator bites were good too.

Sandyblack

Exceptional atmosphere and service, the restaurant is modern and beautiful! Every single thing we ordered from the menu was exceptional!

Rosario Ortoli

They are trying to hard to be something they are not. The place is as cold as a refrigerator, so uncomfortable. The alligator bites were chuy and tasted like they were frozen and old. My catfish was over seasoned, the gumbo also seemed to have way to much soup base and the rice was a little crunchy. It was an expensive mistake

Wes Olson

They hosted our bachelor party of 22 or so guys and they crushed it. Host was amazing and they accommodated our less than perfect behavior. Food is if course amazing, we had a preset menu with ribs oysters desert and much more all family style. 10/10 would recommend.

Bob Demuth

Great service and food.

Lim Heo

This restaurant was awesome! I really loved the foods. The fried alligator has chewy texture, and it has a great chemistry with beer. In contrast, catfish bouillon was tender. It was a bit pricy but worth to try. The restaurant was crowded, so you'd better to make a reservation not to wait so long.

Bryan Prather

I can see why they have a James Beard award. What an exceptional dining experience. The location, atmosphere, food, and drinks this was by far one of my best brunches I have ever experienced. This place takes pork to a whole other level! I highly recommend this restaurant it is an exceptional dining experience.

Kerry Stober

Delicious food. It helped that we had a reservation. We tried the alligator, pork ribs, mac and cheese, onion soup, and meat and cheese board. All items were great! Nice atmosphere and our waiter was timely with drink services.

Isaac Ralston

OMG!!!! Food was amazing. Service was excellent. I think I have a new favorite place to eat in NOLA.

Nick Haynes

We sat at the counter in front of the wood oven, and it was so fun watching all the food get prepared and cooked. Our food was spectacular, followed by excellent desserts. You will not be disappointed.

Manuel Perez-Leiva

Casual but upscale. Eclectic food variety but still cajun.

Jackie Bagley

Relacef atmosphere that is also kid friendly. My husband got the cochon (which was tasty- first timers here). I got the snapper Fishman style. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We also ordered the mac and cheese. Has a little bit of spice to it. It was probably some of the nest mac and cheese I have ever had. I would highly recommend it. We did get a starter of the alligator bites. They were tasty as well. Overall we were satisfied with out meal. It's a little pricey, but I feel as if it was worth it.

Carla G

The pork belly sandwich is very good!! They have long wait times.

Stephen Landry

A lovely, casual restaurant near the Convention Center. I had the smoked short ribs, and it was delicious! The service was attentive, and the atmosphere relaxed. The bar had an extensive selection of whiskeys, including some bourbons that are hard to find in NJ. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Nicholas Viddivo

Amazing meal here. Everything was delicious.

Lynn Helms

Everything was delicious. I had the ribeye pie and the catfish courtboullion. Service was excellent. I was there early so keep that in mind.

Kayla Guillory

I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here! It was a bright, beautiful place and our waitress was very kind and knowledgeable. We had six people and decided to just get a lot of dishes to share family style - I highly recommend doing this. It was fun and delicious to try all the different things we got and we all had plenty of food! Don’t even get me started on the incredible, warm bread rolls!!

Nadine Leflet

I was able to try things I had not tried before, and some old ones done so well it was like being introduced to them a new, for example, you have to try their mac and cheese yummy. The staff was very informative and gave precise details about what was available and what we were having. The drinks were delicious, and we had a great time. I would highly recommend and return.

Ken Gross

Restaurant came recommended and well worth seeking it out. A really neat place. Good Service and knowledgeable in food differences as well as various drink options. We tried the gator and it was one of the best recipes that I have tried anywhere. Main dish was short ribs as well as Rabbit and dumplings. Sides were Creme Grits and Mac n Cheese. Food was absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. Give this place a try and you won’t be disappointed.

Cori Ershowsky

Very interesting! And very yummy! This place is a cute spot with a cute ambiance and great food. Based around pork dishes we tried the meat plate and thought it was all pretty good. The Mac and cheese was some of the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had so don’t miss that side.

Brandon Wallace

Came here with a group of 16 for a bachelor party. Service was great, food was excellent. We had family style with a number of different dishes and 4 courses and every single thing on the table was delicious. Also, a great bourbon list and private barrel bourbon flights which was a huge bonus. I highly recommend this place.

Jeremy Labranche-Jacques

Really good services by our waitress but the manager was really bad, we had a bill of 1500$ and he wasn't even able to say thank you. If you stay too long and speak with other tables he will ask you to leave or he will kick you out. We were sad for our waitress because she was really good! They really need to kick that manager out, we would have spent a lot more money through the night of he did not do that. Food was really good tho!

Osiel Hernandez

Very pretentious place , small menu. You can get better food for half the price . And they falsely advertise “Mexican” Coca Cola which not imported , it’s just regular coke and it was 5 dollars for the small bottle

Nick Brooks

Everything about this place we loved! The area, the vibe is relaxed, really personable service and the food was

Jonathan Tang

As a group of 10 celebrating a bachelor party, we did the set menu complete with a whole roasted pig. Ironically enough, the whole pig was my least favourite item on the menu. The cured meats and other appetizers were excellent, as was the mac & cheese and seafood dish. The pig on the other hand, was an interesting novelty, but was overcooked and a bit too dry. The beet cocktail is a unique find, and is actually quite tasty and worth the try.

Lora Cavuoto

Flavorful food and a nice atmosphere. Very convenient if you're in town for a conference at the convention center.

Bridgett Dearing

Fast service, and some of the most incredible food we've ever had. Highly recommend the pork belly special and the fried alligator!

Ryan Winters

This place was fantastic. Loved everything we tried. The short rib was seriously one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life.

Jerome Thomas

While it's a little pricey.... You pay for what you get. Food is absolutely AMAZING. We came here 2 years ago and it was amazing then and fantastic now.

Drew Irby

I really enjoyed the place. It was laid back and the staff was very friendly. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich and I ordered the ribeye pie. The ribeye pie was more or less variant of a meat pie. It was really delicious.

Marcellinus Winata

Only have the small plates and they're very good. Mid range price with superior quality

ThirteenOwon Carter

The food was ok for me. To each his own. However, the customer service made up for it. The servers were very nice and on standby. They weren't the annoying kind that ask how was our food every 5mins. They were kind and very available as needed. The restaurant itself is neat and clean and it was very comfortable. The atmosphere was welcoming and made you want to stay longer. I gave three stars because I'm a foodie and it didn't do it for me. The hospitality was amazing. I would still urged one to try just to get your own feel and taste.

Jeffrey Snyder-Serrano

This is one of my favorite places to eat. Everything is so good.

Eric

Great atmosphere, great food. Nicer, upscale restaurant for good southern food. Convenient location for lunch near WWII museum.

Andi Orlowski

Great restaurant with baked oysters, alligator, ribs, crispy pork cheeks amongst others. Friendly staff and dinner for two with drinks was about $120. Gets busy so good to book in advance.

Melissa Baker

The Shrimp Patty was very flavorful. And cooked just right. Definitely a must.

Benedetto Busso

Service was excellent food is very good but it is definitely too pricey. Do not get the dessert

Alex Rivera

They have the best grilled oyster I ever tasted. Never had turtle soup before yet it was excellent. Then the shortrib was spectacular end to a perfectly cooked meal all the way through. Oh and their gumbo was amazing!

Joshua Hanover

Excellent service! Food was very good, best alligator bites we ate in the city! Would definitely return. Atmosphere was casual but professional. We sampled many items on the menu and almost all exceeded expectations. Gumbo could be improved with a little more spice and flavor.

Ruby Yuan

Great food, relaxed atmosphere, lots of drink selection. We loved our lunch here. The coal grill oysters were amazing and we should've just ordered more of that, but we wanted to try a variety so got the fried oyster and bacon sandwich. It was good. The crawfish pie was delicious. Fried alligator was ok nothing special. The texture was interesting though. Could've down without the lemon pie. There wasn't that many textures to it and the crust was was not what I'm used to. Overall though it was a good visit and would love to try more of their menu. Service was fast and smooth.

Ron S

I visited over a dozen restaraunts while in New Orleans. This was hands down my best experience. Highest quality of food, highest quality of service and a great dining atmosphere. I recommend ordering "a little bit of everything" and sharing dishes with your party so that you can enjoy all of Cochon's incredible food. Side note. If you're visiting the WWII Museum, Cochon is a short walk away.

Judith Tran

Went there for a quick lunch, got the tomato salad and cheeks (?). Both small plates were terribly combined and did not pair well with flavors and meats. The cheeks were just fried soggy lumps of meat. It could have been any meat. The accompanying roasted tomatoes had a terrible dressing that was inedible. Very expensive lunch that I didn’t want to eat and had to eat the no charge brioche to fill the belly. Will not come back.

Michael R

As a local Cochon Butcher is one place I ensure my out of town guests go to. Reservations recommended we visited on a Monday night and were quickly seated. Drinks all around we started with fried Boudin balls, crispy pork cheek and fried alligator. You will not be disappointed. All came out hot; the boudin balls crispy on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside. The pork cheek was not overdone, tender and succulent. The alligator tender and moist (so many places overcook alligator.) For our main courses we enjoyed the grilled red fish special, Louisiana Cochon, and smoked hamhock. All were prepared to perfection, served hot and no one was disappointed. Cochon butcher is a must if you are either a local or a visitor to the city.

Scott Campbell

The food, drinks, service, atmosphere were outstanding.

Samara Cullinan

Food was excellent as was our waitress, the butterscotch pudding is out of this world and the beer and cocktail selection was diverse and delish. Would've given 5 stars but upon our arrival the host suggested that maybe we were looking for the sandwich/butchershop of the same name, after he "just wanted to confirm" that we didn't have a reservation. We still had a lovely time and meal but the initial encounter left a bad taste.

Kati Tannous

Abdolutley amazing food. Just ask your server for recomendations

Alyssa Harvey

Amazing food and atmosphere! Worth every penny!

Dustin Cowell

Food and drink are absolutely amazing!!! Over the top delicious! I highly recommend the pork cheek and the loaded baked potato.

Gio Smith

Must stop spot. Make sure you get reservations and get there on time. This place gets packed.. rhe ribs are amazing.

Jessica Kilby

Love Cochon! Every time we go I love it more. The food and atmosphere are on point. This last visit we had the charcuterie board, the brussel sprouts, and the Cubano sandwich. Every single bite was the best! I also had the Cheeki Tiki mixed drink. Additionally, their draught beer changes often.

Wyatt Dowling

Second time to Cochon. They do everything well here. You can't go wrong picking this place for your special dinner on a NOLA trip. Entire menu is fantastic.

Michelle Go

Alton Brown once said, “Good service can save a bad meal, but there is no level of food that can save bad service.” We entered as a happy, friendly, hungry group, and the first ones in the restaurant. We came when they opened on a Tuesday and the restaurant was not busy the whole time we were there. Our first waiter started okay, explaining what the highlights are on the menu so fast like a script he memorized. He came back a few minutes to take our order. We asked if there’s another item to go with the short ribs with out the mushrooms and he responded curtly that there is no substitution and the mushrooms is part of the dish. If we want the sides, it’s al a carte. A lot of people have dietary restriction and the way he responded was not something I expected from this type of a restaurant. My husband wants the short ribs but he can’t have mushrooms. My sister in law suggested if they can put the mushroom on the side. Yep, they can. My brother in law asked a particular beer and he responded its a lager.... what type of lager? Response: It’s a lager. I am getting annoyed with the waiter and just glad that another one took over. Our second one was more attentive and everything was getting better until we finished our entrees. Our second waiter asked if we want desserts and we said yes. He said he’s gonna come back with the dessert menu. Within seconds the first waiter came to our table and gave us the check?! Second waiter came back to our table and asked no deserts, and we told him we never got the desert menu and was just given the check. Second waiter apologized and came back with the dessert menu. Food wise, everything that we got were really good, including the desserts. But if we only got served by the first waiter, the experience would just be blah.

Jason Lassourreille

Food was well made with a good selection. Their sauces were delicious but overpowered the meat; I felt like it didn't let the food shine through. Portions were large and definitely plenty of food.

Vince Mosesso

Excellent unique expertly prepared and plated cuisine. Service wonderful. Highly recommend!

Kara Cialli

I went all out and got multiple plates. Their oysters were phenomenal, I got their beef chuck and it was so tender. Finally I got their alligator to try for the first time. I would eat it again. Their cocktails were also phenomenal. Amazing food.

Johnny Stutsman

Great place to eat. Just a short walk from the convention hall. I'm sorry the trade show is not in New Orleans every time. I am looking forward to coming back here next time.

Helene Rainville

Went there because Bourdain did and I loved it! Alligator was delicious, rabbit (as a French-Canadian growing up on lièvre I can tell you it was superb) was excellent. Bread was good/average. Wonderful sitting at the bar talking to the sous-chef.

Lena Olin

Amazing food and great service! It even smells amazing. Not to mention the atmosphere is nice and not stuffy for what you get!

Heather J. Chin

Great food, friendly staff, spacious dining room, delicious and creative drinks and menu.

Christopher White

Amazing dinner!! There was not one thing in the menu that we did not think was terrific!! We basically tried everything with our business group of eight clients! We will be back!

Kevin Soeryono Tan

Great food and service. Would reccoment the mac n cheese casserole and alligator side dish.

Bruddah

Setting is very "LA". Food is very good. Smoked ham hock was so delicious.

Scott Perrier

Went to a private event in the back room. The service was great and friendly. The loved the wood and metal decor. The balcony in that space divides the guests but allows everyone to be engaged. The food appetizers were good.

Synconia Nattiness

This is like a crab cake, but made of shredded pork shoulder, so I call it the pig cake! Enjoy this with a Sazerac from the bar and you will have a good time!

Nicole Scott

Must go! Luke served us well. We tried a ton of stuff but our favorites were fried boudain balls, the Mac and cheese, gumbo, and alligator. Drinks were on point and atmosphere is super chill.

A Duhaime

Amazing decor, food was very tasty and well setup! Great waiter, we had a great evening!

David Irthum

Since it was Father's Day my son in law & daughter treated me and my wife to the BEST Cajun & Southern Cooking this side of Lafayette,LA.. They had a picture of my wife's cousin Alan Toussaint next to our table. The service was impeccable. The server let us know the specials of the day.The prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend the Rose Tea it is delicious!

Kelly Michalak

Really really enjoyed the grilled oysters. I also got the smoked ribs, which was just alright. The meat was rough and dry at the ends. I also did not know the ribs were going to be that spicy. The service was amazing!

Michaela M

Lives up to its name. Be prepared to eat A LOT and have no regrets. Everything is swimming in butter but so darn delicious!

AJ R

Very good food--i had the pork ribs and they were amazing (portion was small but they were excellent). Coworker had catfish and another had the short ribs with mushroom and were equally pleased.

Aaron W

Cochon's is a place that has a great atmosphere along with friendly waitstaff. When you walk in the door, you are greeted by the smell of smoking meats. I went there with such a large party of people, many of the items on the menu were ordered in our group. Everything we ordered was good. I ordered the beef short ribs and they were delicious. The taste of smoked beef was overwhelmingly good. They were so tender and the sauce was amazing. The only complaint I have is that the ribs weren't endless. I was hoping they would keep bringing out more and more.

Lisa Hall

Our waiter was very efficient and knowledgeable. I wasn't familiar with most of the things on the menu and he explained it all perfectly. The cocktails are phenomenal. I forget what my drink was called but it was refreshing and wonderful. They all sounded so good and it was not an easy decision!

Brian Siegel

Excellent and inventive. Should be on everyone's list to go to when in town. Great service, too.

Chad Howell

Food was excellent. Front of the house execution was good but not perfect Our table wasn't ready. Servers forgot our bread. Seemed rushed. Dessert item on the website was no longer on the menu. Ambient noise too loud for conversation.

Alexandra Plazas

We had a HUGE problem at dinner here and it is not something easily solved. It was the fact that EVERYTHING sounded good. We totally over ordered because we wanted to try it all. Each dish was delicious. It was one of the best meals I have had in a long time and I have been blessed in life to always be surrounded by good food. Our favorites were the wood fired oysters and the smoked ribs with watermelon pickles. The flavors in all the dishes were balanced and danced on your taste buds. This place is a MUST when in NoLa.

MissMocha Mommy

Sangria was good, the boys in balls were also good, the fried alligator was taken over by the sauce-too much sauce that it is tossed in, the ribs looked good, but the Mac and cheese was out of this world!!!

Carrissa Cone

This was an incredible food experience. Everything was amazing, and I would wholeheartedly come back here. The food had such beautifully blended flavors that I wanted to come back in the short time I was in New Orleans. 10/10

Laura Millat

Amazing food, but definitely be prepared to share plates, better experience that way!

stacy palik

Food was delicious and the wait staff was amazing! The restaurant itself was a great place to see!

Jessica Marie Allen

Great food and staff! It’s always busy so plan ahead. And try the alligator bites

Kazuki Campbell

Incredible service, food quality and portions. Everything that arrived on the table was to die for and we could barely fit it all in. Coffee was constantly topped up and staff were very accommodating. Very tightly run ship.

Brian Fl

Great service and excellent food. The gumbo is amazing and the shrimp sandwich is excellent.

Michael McWilliams

Delicious food. Really excellent service!

Brian Hofer

Great place for some good food and chill vibes. I sat at the bar and ordered fried alligator with chilli mayonnaise and the fried boudin with pickled peppers. Great food and service. Id definitely come back

Great food, awesome service. Must try on your visit to New Orleans. The alligator and the gumbo were amazing.

A must! Awesome wait staff and the food was outstanding! Can't wait to return.

Fantastic food. Best restaurant mac and cheese I have ever had. Great craft cocktails too.

Walk in to the smell of smoked meat and a wood fired oven in the back. Mmm. A man loads marinated ribs into the smoker in the hallway. You sit down to the screech of chair let on concrete. The beer menu delights. You order the boucherie. It's meaty, fatty, pickly, delicious. The jowl wrapped smoked shrimp sets your belly grumbling.

Excellent service from Levin! He was caring and helpful. I feel Levin made our experience here 10x better. Great food, great service. Food came out super quick and was perfect.

Amira Brito

Everything was delicious and made with fresh ingredients! The fried alligator exceeded our expectations, the mac'n'cheese was heavenly and the main dishes were very rich in flavor. Also, amazing service!

Lou Herout

The restaurant is beautiful and menu is super exciting but the food was pretty bland, waitstaff wasn't very friendly and prices were too high

Randy Reyes

Great modern Cajun/southern food. All the pork products are especially great.

Fred Kiehle

Great meat centric food and excellent service

Maryann Cases

Great location near the convention center. Food is excellent.

Delicious and unique food, but word of advice: make reservations! I was lucky to be traveling solo on this occasion. If it had been a party of two, we'd likely not have scored a table. Definitely try the house drinks. Portion size is generous; I was full with just the appetizers!

Lee Cooks

What can I say? Absolute perfection. The wait was EXACTLY an hour, which I didn't understand because the place is HUGE and their were numerous empty tables that weren't being bussed the entire time I waited. The meal was entirely worth the wait. The alligator was chewy, I've never had alligator before so I'm not sure if that's just the texture of alligator. It was seasoned deliciously. Shrimp cake with cream corn and pickled cucumber, A MUST. The crawfish and green tomato casserole you can skip and just get mac n cheese. I have nothing bad to say, a must visit when in New Orleans. Make reservations!

Literally EVERYTHING is delicious. You simply cannot go wrong with any menu selection. Excellent wines. Wonderful wait staff. You must come here when you're in New Orleans!

Great food & the price is not bad. Go with friends so you can try as many dishes as you can! The waiters were awesome & knowledgeable about flavors and cuisine so dont be afraid to ask questions.

Went here for lunch cuz we were all craving some meat after 3 days of seafood. --food was definitely 5 stars as well as for their ambiance. Service started out just ok as it seemed our original server was still in training. He didn't do too well answering questions about the beers they had nor our special request to leave out the mushrooms from the Braised Beef Short Ribs. As soon as we were done our entrées, he gave us our check--mind you he never even offered us desserts, but another more experienced waiter did. From then on, the latter waited on us and wow, what better service! For food, definitely get the Pork Ribs with Water Melon Relish--4 meaty, smoky, delicious pieces so perfect for our party of 4 to share. The alligator fritters were drenched in their yummy sauce. The Pulled Pork and cabbage was moist and came with Chicharrones. The star of the entrées for us was the Braised Beef Short Ribs which came with the most amazing red potatoes. It seems the potatoes were boiled to a certain softness, smushed then may be roasted (may be even fried) to make them crispy on the outside and moist and delicious on the inside. My hubby and I were just sharing one order, but since it was so delicious, that's what he ordered as his dessert-- Really! As for the real desserts, the Bacon Praline Ice Cream was a hit. The Butterscotch Pudding with the Salty Butter Cookies was amazing! We had to order more cookies as the pudding serving was quite generous. Together, it was like magic in your mouth... We can't wait to go back!!

I LOVE this place. And they even made a custom vegan dish!! We came as a group of 9 while visiting, which I know is tough to deal with, but our server was cheery, communicative, and hilarious - that and the delicious food made our night. As a vegan (which I'm sure is also annoying) I wasn't expecting anything here outside of a plate of lettuce but they made this delicious mashed sweet potato, roasted cauliflower and cooked greens thing that was super flavorful. This was one of the best dining experiences our group had. 10/10 recommend

I did not want to leave NOLA without a Cajun meal. So I had lunch at Cochon. Truth is that I was not impressed with the Louisiana Cochon dish. It was so strongly spiced that you could not taste the pork itself. My suggestion is to ask the waiter ot waitress for direct recommendations. My waitress had recommended the single fish dish in the menu, but I disregarded her opinion. For dessert, she recommended the lemon pie and, my God, it was AMAZING! Service was fast, attentive and unobtrusive.

My favorite place to eat in Nawlins! Cocktail menu changes periodically. A few new menu items this time. The bacon-wrapped shrimp app was salty, but everything else was spot on!

Great food and service. Recommend reservations. Will be visiting again.

Great food and service, but the boucherie plate on the menu was not what I thought it was. We asked what it was before ordering and they said that it was like a sampler. It was more like only a meat sampler, the kind that come on a charcuterie board. Wasn't what I imagined for my dinner plate. But my other friends duck, alligator and fish meals were delicious.

Lindsay Parsons

Just go. I mean, it was just perfection. Each item we ordered was better than the last.

Celebrated 50th Birthday in New Orleans, I was destined to have Alligator Nuggets at the suggestion of waitress at Crescent City Restuarant. We arrived at Cochon's love the ambiance beautiful intimate setting. We ordered our Alligator Nuggets and Mac/Cheese. The gator was delicious and the Mac/Cheese was Devine.

Modern, barn, industrial atmosphere. Clean and updated restaurant with ample seating. No reservation was needed. The pork may be the go-to for the restaurant, but the seafood here deserves the spotlight too. The wood-fired oysters were so delicious and marinated well. The oven roasted gulf fish was the star of the meal. Tried the local ginger beer offered on the menu - spicy and authentic. Great service and wonderful dining experience here. On the pricier side here.

Great service and great food. Have never been disappointed. Hostess was very friendly Also

Was highly recommended by a friend. I came by on a Friday night and obviously it was packed and silly me for not making a reservation, but I really wanted to eat here so I came back the next day for lunch! The fried alligator alone was so worth it. I also had the Louisiana cochon - parts of it were too dry for my preference but my friendly, awesome server suggested I put some vinegar - SO GOOD!!! Especially with the pork rinds. The complimentary bread and butter was great too. Wish I had two stomachs to try the other dishes. Will definitely come back on my next trip!
