I just love this place. Sushi is great, especially the lemon roll. Their lettuce wraps on the appetizer are delicious. Tonight I got the chicken from the hibachi grill and it was so good! Strips of chicken with veggies. It comes on a hot skillet like fajitas. I’ve never had a bad experience, favorite place in Shreveport I’ll eat sushi from.

Great service in a clean and well appointed dining room. They serve a fairly standard Chinese menu, and a fairly large sushi menu. I've had a few of the Chinese dishes and a few of the sushi dishes. I find the Chinese food better than most similar chinese food I've had elsewhere. The sushi is good and better than you would expect at a Chinese Restaurant. Overall a very good dining experience in Shreveport.

Your going to be hard pressed to find a wait staff that’s more friendly and on top of taking care of your dining needs than the folks at Chengs. If your looking for excellent Chinese food I highly recommend giving them a try!

The last time i visited, i was served by a young lady with whom i was familiar. My plan was to order 2 lunch specials & take home some to have next day. I ordered vegetable plate, rice & soup, and sweet & sour pork also w/rice & soup-- but i wanted the pork with no sauce and a side of General Tso (sp) sauce. When my waitress took my order back to kitchen, the chef began screaming at the top of his lungs. I got my order revised as requested but a waiter brought the food, not the waitress. I will not be back to have my food prepared by a spoiled child

This is one of the best places for Szechuan style Chinese food in Shreveport. The ingredients taste fresh, and dishes are presented in an attractive manner - you might get a carnation garnishing your General Tso's tofu (a dish I have not seen available elsewhere in town). Their wait staff are typically polite and friendly. Interestingly, we have a friend who observes kashrut, and he is able to eat here and have his dietary restrictions accommodated. So you might consider this as an option for kosher eating, just be sure to ask the staff about your particular needs. They've always been helpful when we've visited.

I am so glad we stopped by. The hubby wanted to explore Shreveport and we ended up here! We both ordered from the grill section and our plates came out sizzling and tasty.Now pricing is a tad bit more than other places but if you want quality you have to stop in. Overall just a pleasant experience. In my opinion the best in Shreveport/Bossier. The staff and customer service was top notch and we felt at home. We will surely be visting again!!

Cheng’s Garden is one of the cleanest establishments that I have been to in Shreveport. The decor and food presentation are that of a higher caliber, while also keeping the pricing affordable. The orange chicken has bits of orange peel in the sauce, which makes it fresh and the best orange chicken around. The customer service is terrific. Kudos to the chef for beautiful plating. Cheng’s also has the freshest tasting sushi in Shreveport and has a great lunch special for 3 sushi rolls with miso soup and salad. Try the spring rolls for an appetizer, you will get them every time.

Rushed. I felt rushed all through the meal. Food was hot and soup was good. But practically served on top of each other. Asked for complete meal. Still was charged for egg roll that I thought was included. The owners are still working - on the floor of the restaurant. I used to eat here a lot when it was a buffet. It is nice sit down order off menu but I miss their buffet. It seemed to be one of the better ones in the area at the time.

Chengs garden has the best sushi I have ever had. It does not smell like raw fish which is rare for sushi places in Shreveport. The atmosphere is great and they make every effort to keep you happy during your visit. You can also have local delivery places deliver the freshness right to your door. I have never had a bad experience.

I have ordered food from here through Waitr multiple times. The food is awesome. I'm never disappointed. But after dining in and eating at the restaurant, I will never do it again. Customer service is terrible. Our waitress was very rude. She was more worried about talking to the people she knew sitting in her section than checking in us. She was also very attentive to her big top, but didn't pay any mind to us. Funny because we all do or have worked in the service industry for years and tip very well. She forgot to put my niece's order in, she's 2. After everyone got their food except her, I asked 2 different people about it and they all just blew me off. We finally got her food, in a to go box, at the same time as our check. Also when a friend of ours ordered beer, she kept putting the beer down right in front of my niece. She never pre bussed or decluttered our table of empty glasses and plates. So having 5 people at one small table got crowded pretty quick. Every time our server spoke to us she was rude and very short with us and huffed and puffed. Moral of the story is, eat Cheng's, but eat it in the comfort of your own home.

Lunch specials 7 days a week, including sushi combos. Lunch comes with soup and either eggroll or spring rolls (dine-in only). Very good food. The whole family loves it. The hot and sour soup actually has a slightly sour flavor rather than being flavorless like many places. The prices are reasonable for the level of service and atmosphere. It is always clean and the service is always friendly and attentive.

Service was excellent but food was less than mediocre and very expensive. Shrimp was EXTREMELY overcooked - or left over and re-cooked. The sesame oil and salt were used so liberally I wondered if the cook was poorly trained. Most customers were eating sushi, so I think the sushi there may be acceptable.

This is a regular place for us. You are almost certain to get something you like, whether chinese food or sushi. Both the entrees and sushi rolls are big enough to fill you up. It is pretty quiet inside the restaurant, which is fine most of the time unless we can hear other peoples conversations.

This place exceeded our expectations. It was really nice inside with new stylish decor and quiet ambiance. The peanut avocado roll was unique, but we loved the sweet potato tempura roll. We also got the General Tso's tofu. Overall good vegetarian options. Our waitress was nice and helpful. We would have appreciated an herbal tea on the menu and the food quality is not quite 5 stars.

Food was very good, but pricey compared to a lot of other equal quality Chinese food places. Lunch price makes it reasonable, but don't expect to eat here cheap. The only complaint about the food I had was the broccoli I had definitely had a femented alcohol taste to it. Okay service, okay food, bad prices. Not a bad place but I probably wouldn't go back.

I'm in my 30s and hadn't been here since I was a kid. Back then, it was a buffet, and I was sort of thrown off to see it's no longer a buffet. Whatever the case, the interior design and atmosphere was VERY impressive and spacious. It almost made me feel like I was really in Japan. We had a nice waitress and the food was delivered in a timely matter. I can't think of anything bad to say, except the house side salad didn't seem like a special signature of theirs, but instead something I could have created at home.

Had take out for lunch and it was so good!!! Some delicious Szechwan Shrimp, Wonton soup and Cheese Rangoon. Yummy!! It was so very very good and the delivery is right on the mark. Cheng’s Garden will let you know how long your delivery will be and they are ALWAYS very prompt keeping your food hot and delicious. The delivery staff is always very professional and respectful with your time and place. Very well done EVERYONE at Cheng’s Garden!!
