I can't review the food because I didn't order any. After sitting at the speaker for a few minutes with nobody taking my order I assumed they must be closed and drove away....nope, as I circled the building I saw 2 employees staring out the window at me. Looks like this happens a lot! I can only assume this was the Lord's work saving me from food poisoning after reading about the unsanitary conditions, serving cold food, lizards inside the building etc! The food from Chipotle I ended up getting instead was amazing!

Upon opening the door we were all greeted to a loud, high pitched alarm. Went to order and it was seemingly difficult for the cashier to get the order right. Had to repeat order multiple times. While ordering and looking into the kitchen it didn't exactly look clean at all. Upon receiving the food, it was bland, tasted old. Was rather disgusting. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone..

Well, my mom was so excited about this place opening because this is the ONLY restaurant she loves the burgers from. Unfortunately, they lost a customer today. We had to wait a while, which was understandable because it is a new restaurant. However, cold burgers and fries I didn’t understand. We asked for extra pickles and didn’t get any on our burgers. They almost forgot one of our drinks, and they DID forget our funnel cake fries. Disappointing.

First of all, there was a HUGE language barrier between myself and the person taking orders through the drive thru. He could not understand my order and after 5 minutes of us both trying to get the order right, he had me pull up to the window, where he printed out what he had and handed to me to verify. I wrote down the corrections, he read it back to me and I verbally verified so he made the corrections and printed again. I confirmed. I paid and waited... and waited... and waited for 15 minutes. Each meal came in its own bag (and there were 6) but it was easy to verify that the correct amount of food was there that way. One of the sandwiches was incorrect and the food was lukewarm at best. Although there was a language barrier, at no time did the guy get short, sound impatient or otherwise rude. He was perfectly polite and worked VERY hard to make sure he understood what I was ordering. It was the quality of the food that earned this rating, not the service.

I use to work here DO NOT EAT HERE I reapeat do not eat here. They are so unprofessional. The night manager is so dirty she does not ever wash her hands. She does not know what she is doing. After one employee made sandwiches she took them out the bag and went through all the sandwiches with her bare hands. Then she touches the fries and wings with her bare hands all the time . They don’t know how to talk to customers. They are very dirty the whole store. We found mold one . We found a lizard on a rat trap . Then it was 2 other traps with flys on it . The traps had to be there for months. They do not deep clean the store. Do not eat here.

They have good food at a great price!. They also offer student discounts and military discount of 10% off. Chicken bites box is the best deal. It's popcorn chicken and fries for $2 and some change. Definitely worth a visit. I ate there so much I got burnt out on it for a while. Hard to beat. They're fries are great!

I work hard for the money that i have. That was the last of my money. It hurts my feelings when you have people laughing at you cause you scrape up for a meal to my two kids. It's Checkers. Let's keep it simple. Fast food isn't meant to be healthy, but it's still decent for fast food. This particular location isn't the greatest with quality, but it's not terrible. Needs work, but still worth the quick stop when you're too tired to cook, and can't wait for lengthy service.

Wish I would have read the reviews before coming to this location today... It was my first time every eating here. After pulling in, and waiting almost 10 minutes we finally just had to drive up to the window because no one would say anything over the intercom. When we finally got to the window the girl was yelling at the car pulling off because she hadn't gave them all their food. They never apologized for the wait or anything. Finally we order, she hand's us back our card. then after a few minutes opens and asks if she ever gave it back to us and when?! All the employees were very loud and having conversation's they definitely shouldn't be where people could here them. I will never return to a Checkers again. Even though the food was AMAZING, People SUCKED!

If you’re eating at Checkers hopefully you know what to expect. This location however seemingly has more hangups than others. The drive through is confusing, with one being broken but lit, and the one working not being lit. Sometimes they require you to only use the drive through to order, or to drive up to the first window but usually the instructions on what to do are either hard to discern or non existent. I’ve asked the workers themselves what they think is best, and they and I are agreement that you can’t go wrong with fries and a frosty. Everything else is at your own risk and dependent on who’s cooking that day.

2 out of 3 times I've been there the shake machine is not working. The line of cars in the drive-thru has been long all three times so you wait. If they are out of what you want (like the shake) you are stuck in that line for 5-10 minutes with no way to exit. They also had the back door propped open which isn't sanitary.

This Checkers in Manhattan is not as good as other Checkers (e.g., Long Island). Of course the prices are higher and there are less deals/promotions, but the quality of food is not that good. Burgers are usually just warm, like they were precooked and were sitting in a tray. At least they have a person handing out coupons on the corner, but even those deals have dwindled to no advantage at all since there less items and less discounts (the coupons handed out used to have more choices with higher discounts). It always seems like they are reluctant to give you sauce with your nuggets, wings, mozzarella sticks, etc. They do have a self serve fountain soda machine with many choices (but even this was downgraded from this machine's that had like a 100 choices). With a Burger King and a McDonald's within 2 blocks, it's just more of a reason to skip over Checkers.

The speakers to order are always broken with a note written in black magic marker to “look at the menu and tell us what you want at the window.” So upon ordering you see employees that are clearly repulsed by your presence. They are so rude and don’t pay attention to what you are ordering! I told the guy I wanted ranch, he gave me bleu cheese, I told him coke, he gave me sprite! When I asked for the correct items, he got an attitude so I just drove off! I’m not expecting stellar service, just to at least be treated with respect! I will miss the fries because I won’t be back!!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. GO TO THE ONE ON 28TH INSTEAD. Cannot believe the customer service at this location. Ordered 2 big buford meals with bacon (we were told it was an extra charge, we said ok) and with two cokes. When we got home around 10:30pm, we realized they forgot our drinks and had no bacon on our burgers. We were charged $23 and paid full in cash. We called at 10:30pm but they already closed (although closing time is 12am). Called back the next morning and the day manager - Debra - was extremely rude. Told us she would not do anything for us because we did not have a receipt... they didn't give us a receipt, and told us to call back to speak with the night manager who gave us the order. She then hung up on us. We called back to complain about how rude she was and she hung up again. We called back at night to speak with Crystal. She remembered us as having forgot our drinks. She said she couldn't do anything for us, even though she remembers that she got our order wrong. She also hung up on us. There is a review below where she forgot someone else's drink. I am amazed at the terrible customer service. They would not give me the name of the DM boss. If someone knows how I may reach them, please let me know. Thank you

I have had bad experiences at this location before. Tonight showed why. Whoever was the night manager tonight needs to learn some common sense. There is no one in line behind me.. Her logic? please pull forward and block the only exit to wait for my food so i can waste time walking your food outside to you later. There is absolutely nowhere to pull forward and wait at this location. They did this to everyone during my long wait. She said "she has to do what, what she has to do." There is no reason you need to make people pull forward... You are causing a hazard and safety issue by making people leave out of the entrance only area. You have 2 windows.. use them! At least they gave me an extra patty on both of my sandwiches (maybe she should be more focused on her food costs?). However, the mayo tasted spoiled which probably means poor cleaning habits on the bottles. If she was smart, she would watch her food costs to get her bonus.

All i wanted was a Strawberry SMOOTHIE. All the employees had attitudes. And the whole time i was waiting for my food they complained about another customer and how they just KNEW they didnt mess up their order. Took forever for my order. My friend had also ordered a cheesecake Milkshake. I went back to the window realizing i never got my strawberry SMOOTHIE and shes like oh no you ordered a Strawberry Stack. I don't even know what the hell that is. Apparently it was some cup of ice cream she handed me that she said she didnt know why she made but i could have it. Of course i took what i tought was just a messed up order of ice cream and gave it to my kids. So i told her i wanted a strawberry SMOOTHIE and the MANAGER proceeds to tell me oh no, u ordered the wrong thing. WHAT? I know i said smoothie multiple times. So she asks for the ice cream back. So i go get it and by the time im back to the window there are 3 people shes literally ARGUING with these customers about how she KNOWS she made 5 burgers and they arent missing anything. She argues with them for a full 25 mins before replacing what she messed up because as she said "aint nobody got time for this. I really dont take this and go" ..... so after all this time of them arguing. Shes like i dont have strawberries for the strawberry smoothie. She wasted so much of my time just to be rude to me and her other customers. I really had my heart set in just a strawberry smoothie and she runied my whole night. Then shes like well u can keep the ice cream cuz im just gonna throw it away. She did give me my money back for what she charged me for the ice cream.... but... service was terrible. They really need better management.... and better attitudes. She needs to accept that she can make errors....

Checkers sent out expired coupons in the mail yesterday. I was enjoying some drinks close by at The Patriot and needed a quick bite to eat; Checkers did not disappoint. My friend and I picked up 20 piece wings and some fries. The service was quick and the establishment clean.

Crappy service, I was so turned off. I was waiting at the window for ever just to be acknowledge. When she finally came on, instead of apologizing for having me to wait. She says, are you ready to order, like I was holding her up. She never even said Hello. If I could had removed myself from the line I would had just drove off. So I quickly just ordered two Apple pies. I wanted a entire meal but was irritated with her mannerisms.

I was alone with my infant and I had a flat tire. An employee walked out on the pouring rain to help me and actually changed my tire while the whole time being completely respectful. I don't know what I would have done without him and his going above and beyond his duties. He is a true Godsend, renews my faith in humanity

They have nasty attitudes, When I told them they had my daughters order wrong, they told me that's not what they have. Would not give her what she paid for which was a spicy chicken. They wanted to give her a checker burger. Which the coupon was the same price for both. I asked for my money back, they got an attitude. The manager asked how much due to them not giving her a reciept. The manager handed me the money but snatched it back before I could reach for it. The employee told him to get the drink back. Which I thought was funny. We were going to give it back anyway, then they got mad because she had already drank some. They deserve no stars but in order to post I gave one star.

I mean... it's a Checkers in the city. The place itself is pretty grungy and run down (it's not been there that long...), but the food tastes like you'd expect and the fries are addictive. Hamburgers aren't half bad either, but get it to go and get out of there.

Horrible service, I was at the East Paris location in Grand Rapids., sat at the speaker for a long time and was ignored. But when I drove off, I seen a worker just standing there in front of the register with his hands in his pockets doing nothing. He never said anything. Beyond pathetic service.

They were very nice ,polite and courteous. I love the apple pies at checkers and every time I go up there they make sure I get an apple pie even if I don't have the money one of them will pay for it for me! It is so very kind of them to do that for me! They call me the apple pie lady because usually when I come up there and I have the money to get apple pies I get like 10 and pay for them. They're great people! I am from Florence South Carolina, and both Checkers in Florence the one on Irby Street is a great store! The one on West Palmetto Staffing is absolutely! They are the ones that call me the apple pie lady. And they always make sure I have one apple pie even if I don't have enough money for one. The person that is waiting on me at the time will take that money out of their pocket and put it in the register! They give such great service!

It was late in the evening and there were five cars in the Drive-Thru when I pulled in. I was pulling out about five minutes later which I think is a tremendous success for late-night drive-through. My order was completely accurate and hot. And credit the goes to the manager on duty who stepped outside the back door just to ask me to scoot up so I could order to keep his drive through moving. Clearly he was the one pushing people for performance. Kudos in this neighborhood especially, where people have jobs and seem to feel like they don't have to actually work.

I pulled up to order and asked what kind of oil that use for their fries. The girl taking orders rudely said "Ma'am I don't know..." them rudely asked "what can I get for you?" I asked if she could ask someone in the store. She did not reply. After waiting for the 2 cars in front of me to pay for their food, receive their food and drive off she asks again "what can I get for you?" at this point, I'm tired of her attitude and pull up to the window as it was clear she was not even willing to try to answer my question. When I pulled up to the window there were 3 girls congregating and looking at me confused. 2 looked irritated. I asked the girl who came to the window what kind of oil they use. The same woman who was taking orders said loudly and more irritated than the 1st time "We don't know!" I asked the girl at the window if she could just ask someone or look on the box it comes in. She was the only polite person. I wish I could remember her name. Although she couldn't figure it out and I just ended up googling it, her kindness is the only reason I ordered and the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1. The experience left me feeling unwelcomed and as if customers were just annoying to the girl taking orders. Perhaps she should consider a factory job where she doesn't have to interact with customers. In short, she was rude. This was such a poor customer service experience that I will not be going back to this location, even though it's walking distance from where I live. After a taxing Monday of being yelled at (because I too work in customer service) all I wanted was a little pick me up and her attitude ruined it for me. I get that maybe my question seemed random or annoying but it wasn't that serious for he to respond in such a rude way. I'm sure that she probably doesn't even care what kind of impression she left which is why I didn't say anything at the window. I just hope someone gets the message that this particular experience was unacceptable.
