Your average barbecue place. Smells great outside but the brisket really doesn't have a smoke flavor at all. The ribs were pretty good but not memorable. Sides were just ok. Mac and cheese tasted like plastic cheese and the macaroni was mushy. Green beans tasted like they were dumped out of a can with no seasonings. But I have yet to find a barbecue restaurant with sides that were worth the calories so that seems to be the norm.

This is a comment about ALL the BBQ places in SWLA. I don't like the stuff y'all call BBQ around here. It's just roasted brisket with ketchup on it. BBQ starts raw on the grill - low heat, when almost done, put some sauce of your choice on it and let it cool in for a few min. Dry rubs make me think that the meat was dropped on the ground and picked up. Don't forget to baste occasion-ally while cooking. The hamburger here would be better if not cooked dry. Sides are pretty good. Tea is good. PEOPLE here are GREAT!

Went for the first time a couple weeks ago, because the smell was amazing. ...unfortunately, I can't say the same for the food. I got a pulled pork sandwich that was so dry, but the Cole slaw and potato salad were so bad it was scary. My husband got the brisket, and that too was dry. Bbq sauce was pretty good.

I am in town from Kansas City for business and I was encouraged to try BBQ west. I am always hesitant on trying BBQ when on the road as I feel Kansas City knows BBQ, well I was very pleased with BBQ west not only was their BBQ great but the personality of the staff was amazing! I walked in the door as a out of towner and felt like family instantly! I would highly recommend BBQ West to anyone! And I will definitely be stopping back in for lunch anytime I'm in the area!

These guys have DELICIOUS rice dressing (dirty rice). There are times when I go JUST for a quart of this dressing lol. I also enjoy the brisket, and my hubby likes the ribs. Honestly, the only thing I've had an issue with was the chicken. First time I tried it, it was so dry, tough, and SMALL. Swore I'd never order it again, but finally gave it another chance, and I was not disappointed! Oh, and the staff have always been very friendly and welcoming!

While visiting Lake Charles, we decided to try BBQ West. We loved it so much that we ordered food for 25, a few days later. The friendly & helpful staff are just incredible. All of the meats are perfect. The mac & cheese is so creamy. The homemade bread is unbelievable. The peach cobbler tops it off, I have never had cobbler that good. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the great quality of food you get. Thank You!!

We decided tried Barbecue West on the Weekend and I was not impressed at all. The mac n cheese was soggy and I got a 2 meat plate with Chicken and ribs and the guy didn't even ask me if I wanted white or dark meat. Both of course I decided to give them another chance and the food was some what better. I still didnt really get that barbecue taste, but the green beans were delicious and fresh and the service was good. I'm still not completely sold on this Place at all. Maybe I'll try one more time.

Love this place. I went in for about the 20th time on 7/19/19. Service was great. Food is always on point and consistent. Even though they were cleaning up to close within 20 minutes, they still took care of me with a smile. I recommend BBQ WEST to anyone that loves BBQ. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

Best BBQ in Lake Charles. Omg the baked beans and dirty awesome. I had 2 meats which was about 11 very reasonable for the amount of food I got ribs they were delicious. Brisket was good just slightly dry. Overall, good experience fast and hot. No wait plus Sundays they have a BBQ buffet.

TEXANS DO NOT GO HERE!! They barely smoke their meats, they chop their brisket and they only have smoke sausage no links..Hannah's toward baton rogue is the closest to a texas smokehouse in SW Louisiana..don't bother with Sulphur nor Westlake it's all the same

We ordered a barbecue chicken dinner 4 piece. It was amazing super tender, Tangy BBQ sauce flavor. The baked beans were awesome, dirty rice was very good. I would highly recommend this place. The prices are very reasonable. Today they had a 3 rib barbecue plate dinner for $8.99 with two sides. Two thumbs up!

My husband just loves this place. He gets the ribs and I stick to the brisket. Hubby started talked to the lady behind the counter and next thing I knew he came to tell me she was taking him on a tour of their "BBQ pit" where it all happens. The lady said they get asked a lot about it so they enjoy taking the customers back and showing them where it all happens. If you ever stop in, ask them to take you in the back and show you their pit! Very friendly employees and never had a complaint. FYI: the dirty rice is to kill for ( very moist).

So delicious..I have to say this place rocks! A little expensive but way cheaper than Dickeys BBQ and much taster. Its a Buffett style as well as individual order. You order like a Libya style place and go sit down. Everything is paper plates and plastic utensils. Enjoy!
