REVIEWS OF The Village Anchor IN Kentucky

Came to The Village Anchor for my first time. We were a group of 5. We sat outside even though it was a very hot day and it was comfortable in the shade with the fans going. I love that they have a really nice outdoor eating area. Those are hard to find. Our service was good and we had a very nice and helpful waitress. The sweet potato’s are a MUST! Soo crunchy and flavorful. I didn’t feel that way about the rosemary French fries.. just kind of blah. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it was good without too much mayonnaise but it needed some salt and pepper and I never say that! The salads were excellent! I got to taste the Brussels sprout salad and it was so delicious.

One of Louisville's best kept secrets! This place never lets me down. The ambiance is spectacular. The classy and relaxed atmosphere keeps me coming back. I enjoy the upstairs inside dining on formal occasions and the lower level referred to as the "Sea Hag" on more casual evenings. The food is reasonably priced but for those "low key" evenings there are also daily specials offered in the Sea Hag from dollar mimosas, $10 Tuesday and a separate "Bar Bites" (plus their bartenders are all amazing people who take great care of you!). I always get the daily special market fish, it changes every day and it always surprises me how creative and talented the chef's here are. Some days when I'm feeling real fancy I'll had some scallops as well! I have hosted many events there and boy are they really accommodating. They tailor to your experience. They offer different menu's at different pricing, different rooms for different size parties/occasions, do a fantastic job of decorating and setting up and the timing of the events are always well executed. Thank you Village Anchor for your years of taking care of me!

Pros : I really appreciate the servers here, they did a great job!! Cons : We had brunch here with a big group of people today (about 20 people I think). We travel for 30 mins for this >>> We sat at the low level outside. It was very hotttttt, a little stinky from the dirty dishes in the basin + wet dirt in the yard (sorry my nose is too good) and there were many flies (I saw flies situation complaining down below but it’s still there, problem never fix) When they brought the food out they had to sat food on a thing next to the black plastic basin full of dirty dishes and I see many flies fly around and landed on those food before they served to the customer. Sorry I didn’t take any pictures because this is a bad experience enough for me. There were another table of customer too. Everyone see this. Food is wayyy over price for the quality (You can find many of this kind complaints from other reviews) I am sure that none of us would go back again.

Went here for a work dinner and had a really good time with the team. My first time there, it was good to see a side of Louisville I never would have never ventured since it is a bit far for a Highlander. I started at the bar which was small but we'll stocked with the hard stuff. Limited draft (not 3rd turn or Grale level) but the staff was friendly. I was amused by the checks being placed in old romance novels. The dinner menu had a good selection. Not overwhelming but not simple. I ended up with the pork chop which turned out to be fantastic. Fired green chilli wantons we're good and creamy but my fave is still the Bristol. Overall the decor was good, food was tasty and the space was nice. Only gripe I had was the fans they had set up in the outdoor section we were told was for flies which were loud enough to impede conversation. As a Louisville Highlander I wouldn't make the trip out there (but that's for most anything past 265

Ten buck Tuesday was delicious as usual. Despite the downpour, folks were in a good mood. Katye was attentive and funny. We will return.

Jimmie McManis Jr

Great place, is part of operations group that is a part of Le Moos one of my favorites in Louisville. This restaurant will not disappoint, great service with a home rub elbows feel, also has outside seating. Southern food with a little twist and heart attack desserts.

Tony Gore

Great pub & grub feel. Very much an Anchorage favorite!

Elora is by far the best server I’ve had in my lifetime. Shannon and John work that bar like it’s nobody’s business. I can’t wait for my next outing to the village anchor

I went to the restaurant after calling ahead for a take out order of 2 sides and a dessert. When I got to the restaurant I couldn't find a place to park, so I called to find out where I could park. The lady I spoke to hung up on me. After I got my food I was leaving the restaurant and I saw 3 plates of food on a serving tray outside. The food was covered with flies. To my surprise I saw a server swat the flies away then picked up the serving tray to deliver the plates to the diners. The food was actually quite good, but I was very surprised when I saw that happen and I definitely didn't appreciate being hung up on when I was asking a simple question.

Arte Hutchinson

Some really great southern food with an awesome staff!

Stephen Bowles

It has been years. But the smoke returns. There Labor Day

Christina Jordan

Larry Johnson

Food was good, service excellent.

Jonathan Pauly

A beautiful restaurant located in the heart of ancorage,Louisville ky. The restaurant has one of the largest bourbon selections with some of the most interesting southern food I've ever had. My go to spot in Louisville ky and the only place I'll go for brunch.

Travis

Unique and tasty.

Christian Smith

Very Fancy. Amazing pickled Beat salad. Look at the ceiling when you walk in to see an interesting way to hang paintings.

Heather Cronen

Food is awsome, waiters are great, and kt was nice and clean.

Kimberly B

We arrived around 6:30, placed on a wait list and looked over the menu to determine if we wanted the special and stay on the list or be seated and order off the regular menu. Since we had never been there before we decided to just stick with the special and we waited which wasn't a very long wait they seated us on the covered patio downstairs which was very nice because during our dinner it started to pour down raining and we were in the middle so we did not get wet the shrimp and grits were the special that night they were very very good and my dinner companion was drooling over b banana pudding which he saw come out previously and wanted back and proceeded to talk about it throughout the entire meal it was very delicious we cannot wait to return. I'll be back!

Michael Brady

Great food, service, and atmosphere!

Chelsea Norman

Love this place! It's a tight fit between tables and waiters/waitresses have to maneuver through the tables and it sometimes feels like people are right up on you when having to walk through the tables..... but it's cozy and the food is always amazing!

James Murdock

Two visits in and both necessitate 5 stars. Great atmosphere (inside and out), top-notch service and wonderful food! The ambiance is unique, yet comfortable. Perfect for all ages and a great place to unwind.

Chassity Stanford

Sunday Brunch was very pleasant today. We tried their #1 cocktail, Kevin's Allen Wrench. A burst of grapefruit and freshness to start the morning off. Next came the California Benedict and the Fried Egg with Pancetta. Both dishes had a nice green salad with chopped strawberries, the glaze- a balsamic vinaigrette was amazing! 5 out of 5 stars!

DJ 1

The food is pretty good, but I haven't found anything there yet I would call amazing. The fun part is getting your bill, served inside a horrible romance novel. My friend and I took turns reading to each other out loud. The outdoor space looks amazing, but it has never been temperate enough for me to enjoy it. I ordered the fried brussel sprouts salad and it was good but not amazing. But a very fair price for the smaller portion and very filling. The dessert was really good...warm banana meringue pudding. Highly recommend that. Service was great!

Brian O'Donnell

Nice place. It's very cute. They have a great whiskey list and not expensive. I had the Hotter Brown. It was good but not the best one I have had. Another person in our party got the pork chop. Wow it was huge. We sat outside which was nice minus the flies. They were swarming all over our food. I would go again.

Barbara Wilder

Darling place with great food. We enjoyed being by the fireplace on this cool spring day.

Sallie Talbott

We went at 5:30 without reservations. Got to sit in the basement which was amazing. The food was great! The bartender was attentive even though we sat at a table. Will definitely go back!

Phillip Tretter

My mother's birthday party was here. We had around 20 people, and the food and service were both excellent! They also had capacity for at least one party bigger than ours, as we could see a wedding reception while we were there.

Jeff Nolte

Really neat place!

Wendy Cromer

Great atmosphere, wonderful service, and amazing food.

Kelsey Lyvers

great service with the bartender John. Loved The Gin cocktail and the sweet potato fries.

Stephanie Lowery

Wow the Hot Brown, dont come to this city without trying the hotter brown. This throw back reminds Me of my childhood sitting at grannys table enjoying some of the best food Ive had in the city. You are doing yourself a disservice if you dont come to "the village anchor"

Paige Hardin-O’Brien

The food is absolutely amazing!!! The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff is so friendly and kind! I love going here

Susi Smith

Good food. Pricy, to say the least.

Stacie Greer

Great place for brunch, beautiful scenery and very nice people there. Thank you so much!!!

Todd Schmiedeler

Always amazing food and service...added value - 1/2 price Wednesday wine.

Frances Pratt

Nice place for a date. I would go on Tuesdays because there are specials. Three meat loaf burger is particularly good. You really can't bear the atmosphere either. Truly a Louisville staple.

shalolme atkinson

No place better for brunch

Margaret Madden

What can I say? This place os definitely our style. Upstairs is The Village Anchor, downstairs is The Sea Hag. The upstairs is a bit more formal, nothing crazy, you will want to make reservations for any mealtime on the weekend if you want to sit upstairs. We went for dinner once on a Saturday with a reservation and everything we tried was amazing! It's interesting because it's such a beautiful, fancy place, but their menu is southern comfort food! Dont let the menu fool you though, their chefs know what they are doing! You're definitely ordering some of the best food you've ever had no matter what you decide to try. This is our new brunch spot every Sunday morning. Down in the Sea Hag, Nick serves $1 dollar mimosas on Sundays but we pay extra for the big boys! All champagne in a wine glass with orange juice on the side <3 They don't have a ton of choices for breakfast, but just try what they do have because it's ALL amazing!

Eva Hefner

Great food, Great service. Very enjoyable evening.

Mattress & Furniture Depot

Had my birthday lunch here today and boy was that a happy birthday indeed! Sweet potato fries were divine. Lunch special with elk chili, meatloaf and Brussels sprouts was amazing. Banana pudding with merengue was light as air. Erin our server was attentive without being a burden. Friendly without reservation. Managers and staff were helpful and inviting. I without a doubt highly recommend this gem of a pub in Anchorage. Thank you for a gastronomic experience of epic proportions in what feels like my grandmas den. Comfortable and non-pretentious.

JD Hicks

Great bourbon selection, classic atmosphere, hot food from a staple menu, bartender was nice enough, professional, and prompt. Was sharp on all edges. Well done Village Anchor.

Ed Carpenter

Awesome food and atmosphere.

Betsy Moody

Very nice place to be with friends and family. Great food and presentation. A bit of a wait on food and check, which I don't understand considering we were first there at 10:00am when it first opened. Overall very good.

Ingrid Noe

Horrible Service by our waiter Alan; the Tuesday special was horrible; you’re better off buying a dinner from Kroger’s; they’re called The Anchor is that because they’re way down by sub par service for their food and so called value. ; I do not recommend!!

Leigh Steger Postel

Delicious shrimp & grits for the 2nd time in my life. The 1st time was in Charleston, SC

Guy Sahatjian

Food is really good! Order the pork chop

Paige Alcorn

Beautiful atmosphere inside and out! We came for brunch. Food wasn't terrible but it was overpriced for what you got. The breakfast burrito was $16 without meat. The boyfriend added pork for $3 and it was a small portion of meat and none of the fillings were proportioned properly. For a $20 breakfast burrito he expected better. I got the fish tacos. They were ok; but, they were the same fish tacos you'd get for $3/$4 apiece anywhere else. So, $6/$8 anywhere else, $16 here. It did come with tasty tortilla chips but those cost them pennies to make. I didn't even have the option of picking my side. Again, the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. Just be prepared to overpay for your food.

Cordial Lee

Food is absolutely delicious!

alison strobel

Should open up all of the restaurant for 10 buck Tuesday.

Lindsay Gard

We decided to sit outside because the weather was pleasant. There are fans around the eating area to deter bugs and keep off heat. We started with the green chili wontons and fried green tomatoes which were both amazing. The key lime aioli was awesome. I got the fried goat cheese salad with spring greens, pine nuts, fresh pears and pear/champagne vinaigrette. In the hot weather the salad was delicious and refreshing, not too heavy. It probably would have been enough to eat but I had to try the shrimp and grits which I split with another diner. It was absolutely tasty. Shrimp, sausage, fried okra, cherry tomatoes and fluffy cheese grits in a sumptuous sauce. They also provide kid menus. The service was great and very friendly. I would definitely return.

Ken Foster

Always great. Lunch on the outdoor patio!

Bethany Michelle Keckler

East Ender Cucumber Martini, Green Chili Wontons, Fried Goat Cheese Salad with Grilled Chicken, Creme Brulee...ALL so delish!!

박현진

Great fried chicken and tomato, grilled pork is very tender..awesome desert

Jake Riley

Really enjoyed it. The waitress and Chef were very helpful in ensuring my seared tuna and salad were whole30 compliant. Amazing ambiance. Unique place. Unique dishes. Friendly staff. Great service. Best place I've eaten in Louisville so far. You gotta check it out!

Angela Green

Service was mostly great, however my salad was brought out with my meal rather than before. I tried to send it back, but the server said I could just keep it. My husband ate it, so we were charged for it. Food was good, a bit on the expensive side for what you get though. My daughter ordered mashed potatoes with gravy on the side. It was brought out with gravy on the potatoes, but that problem was rectified very quickly.

Chi Woodrich

This restaurant is a gem. A great neighborhood place, in a great and interesting neighborhood. The food is incredible, and the ambience is inviting, interesting and relaxing. Your check comes in a paperback book. The cocktails are very good, and the desserts are decadent. It is one of my favorite places to eat in the Louisville area! I would describe it as casual with class. One could wear jeans and a t-shirt and not get a sideways glance, but I prefer to wear khakis and a collar when I go. Do yourself a favor, and try this place as soon as possible.

Mona Burns

Terrible! I'm never going back.

Linda Marie

Great food, atmosphere and service! Went there for Brunch and it was great

Vicki Busick

We dined here for lunch on 7-12-19. I reserved indoor seating as hot outside. The doors in restaurant stayed wide open and thus, flies galore on our food! I had out of town guests and was embarrassed about that! Food: wedge salad with gongorzola was pitiful. The lettuce was not crisp and parts of it were brown. The tiny smear of gargonzola could almost be missed, and I had to ask for more blue cheese dressing as not enough. The hot brown had ( maybe) three tiny pieces of chicken ( turkey-whatever supposed to be). The rest was all bread and cheese. The flavor was good. The BLT was good and plentiful as were the sweet potato fries. However, the rosemary French fries were tasteless and dry as well as stale. As for the Bloody Mary drinks-pretty good but tad over priced. Overall, I was disappointed and do not plan on returning -even for myself.

David Hastings

Great food, great staff, small menu, a little pricey.

Lance R

Great atmosphere, great service and the best pork chop I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back!

Ryan Johnson

I love the atmosphere here! The brunch menu is great! Love the coffee. Thursdays, Burger nights = Deal! Wine Wednesdays good. The dinner menu is so so. A rotating seasonal menu could really bring this place alive!

Tua Gravatte

Delicious, cozy restaurant. The broth for the mussels was so tasty that I want to go back just for this app. Service was quick and friendly. Prices reflect the quality.

Elizabeth Shaw

This place is so cute and great location in the heart of Anchorage, but the food is very disappointing. Wedge salad had an odd jam on it that ruined it, and the vegetable lasagna (one of my favorite dishes) was all dry ricotta cheese with a random noodle and 2 pieces of tasteless zucchini. Very unappetizing. Husband enjoyed the shrimp and grits, so 3 stars, but we won't be back.

Tyler Radford

Great service, beautiful restaurant offering a lot of space for large parties.

Seiler Smith

Food was good, went there for a wedding rehearsal. Definitely took good care of everyone. Only complaint is that it is so far away!

Lian Burr

My friend brought me here as a birthday present and it was amazing! We sat on the patio and while it was a bit hot, our server Ruth was so sweet and funny. She even brought out a special birthday brownie. Overall a great birthday experience!

Erin Hendrickson

Always great service. They want you to be comfortable and try new things. Food always well made and delicious. Always leave full and happy!

Ann Moloney

Great atmosphere ! Delicious food!

William Lieberman

Fantastic restaurant in Louisville KY. Wonderful menu. Extensive bar selection. Service was outstanding. Seating both inside and outside. Highly encourage reservations for weekends. Food was great. The fried chicken was perfect. The salmon and the fillet were also done perfectly. Huge plate of sweet potato fries to start the meal. Just a great evening. Only caution. If you sit outside, you are near the railroad tracks and when the train arrives, it can be loud. Highly recommended!!

Themios Roussis

Over all good experience. Unfortunately we're fasting for Lent and couldn't get any of the many meat based dishes. Went with the scallops, the mushroom pedals were great the risotto was fantastic, the scallops were decent. Service was very good, price point was a little high but not outrageous. I would believe that the meat based entrees are very good.

R Mai

Immaculate service, delicious meal, great ambiance. Highly recommend.

Cynthia Majewski

Excellent service and good food. A little noisy and chilly on the party but still worth it.

Eric Lafferty

So freakin awesome! Had ribeye with aspargus and brussel sprouts cooked with bacon. I died and went to heaven. Thanks guy's!!

Frank Brown

Excellent food and atmosphere.

Antonio Profumo

The food & ambiance of the place was excellent. Service was top notch & on point. A bit pricy but not overly so. But it's located in Anchorage, so what can you expect. Overall, we were very pleased with the restaurant.

Nancy Priest

Excellent great food and service. The chicken and dumplings soup. So good.

Cam

Service was prompt and friendly. The food was fresh, on time, and you can tell that every ingredient is thoughtfully placed. One of the gems of Louisville's food scene for sure.

Phil A

Really good food in a super cute location.

Christopher Gibson

Let me start by saying the Benedict Brunch is a 7.1 out of 10 which is very strong. I ONLY eat eggs Benedict at brunch and have tried them all over the country and these are amazing. The service was great and we were there with a huge party. $1 brunch mimosas on the weekend is awesome. Red Velvet pancakes are to die for. And the dinners are just amazing. A must try if in the Louisville area.

sanjay garg

Goodness the ambiance is justb medieval-esque in a way. Paintings on the ceiling, only yellow lighting, a fire place, coupled with amazing food and drink combos. A leisurely place to have a great time with food and drinks..

Kathy Brown

Service was amazing. Thanks Erin

Vickie Parrish

Was there for wedding rehearsal dinner. Food was excellent & servers were so polite.

Kaseigh Long

Outstanding restaurant, great, relaxing atmosphere, and the staff (Eldora..sp?)were very helpful in helping us to decide what we wanted because we had never been there. I highly recommend dining there ♥️♥️

Aaron Rowan

Food was great. Service was a bit slow may have been under staffed

Danny Sala-Diakanda

The food here is really good and the service is impeccable. Great cocktails and great selection of bourbons

Terry Boardman

Very good food and I loved the setting. Casual and relaxed not stuffy at all. I took my 7 yr old daughter here before her "father daughter dance" and she had her first "big people salad" as she calls it. I had the scallops and as a former Rhode Islander and very picky about seafood I can say this was outstandingly fresh. Chef has a good handle on seasonings... not too much, just subtle flavors that creep in. Delicious.

Katie Munoa

nice local place with great food and drinks.. great place to take people not familiar with louisville and i bet even a lot of people from here may not have been and need to

Dana Babah

OMG. The food, Lord the food. It was SOOOOOOOOO GOOD. A must if you are in the area.

Nic Shellabarger

Food was great! Service was great as well, right up until we stayed a little too late and they literally tried to sweat us out.

Jamil Zabaneh

Very good local restaurant!

Greg Clough

Food has gone downhill. Served cold and not enough servers to manage tables.

F Holland

They have a lot of delicious dishes. Nothing is too adventurous but the quality of their food is what is good. Try the Elk Chili!

Mike Haas

Wonderful food. Tasty hot brown. Sweet potato fries with marshmallow dip was yummy. Eating outside was really nice too. Food was a little slow to arrive but worth the wait. Will go back!

Phil B

Food was decent. The service was sub par. Arrived for our reservation and stood at the host station waiting for someone to acknowledge us for what seemed like 10 minutes as servers continued to walk by without saying a word. Lots of empty tables so it wasn’t that busy. We decided to be seated outside and were placed next to a huge fan with other open tables available. We moved to another table. Again a waitress finally acknowledged us and asked if we had been waited on. No. Said she would be right back. Once again, not very busy (week night ). Waiting 15 minutes and finally showed back up. After the food arrived, it was decent. The fried derby pie was actually the best thing of the night. The $$ for the dinner was completely disproportionate for the service and quality of food. Many better options at half of the price. Was our first and probably last time to visit

Burleigh Dighton

Always a good time at The Village Anchor. Good food, good selection of drinks, and good atmosphere. It can get a little loud but always a good time. Waiting area outside is nice with tables under the trees or picnic tables in the grass. The menu is not too big but food is always good. Reservations are the way to go because it is very popular.

Barbara Wolf

The food is delicious. They are very friendly and you get great service.

Zachary Bases

Breakfast plates could be 15% smaller and that would be just fine.

Jill Baker

Friendly people, great food, special prices on certain days. Fun.

Diane Roberts

4 1/2 stars! Good food and drinks. Prices are a little expensive on some of the dishes.

Darya Jackson

Loved this cozy restaurant, the food was delicious, the waiters were the embodiment of southern hospitality. Loved the idea of using the paperback romance novels for receipts/ cards / cash! Will be back!

Adam frey

Wonderful atmosphere and service. Best steak I've had in the Midwest.

Ben Curtis

Excellent outdoor seating, excellent service, excellent food. What's not to love?

John Campbell

It was a wonderful Birthday party for Pat

Jesus Saves

Awesome food and atmosphere

Christine Holland

Had a fantastic elk chili and a half of a Reuben sandwich couldn’t finish the sandwich because the chili was so good

Rick Koch

Excellent food! It is an upscale dining experience with a wonderful atmosphere. It has a rustic style indoor and great outdoor seating

Jess H

Great service and delicious drinks. The pork chop and fried chicken were good and very big portion. Will come back for sure.

Eats Good

Wasn't impressed. Appetizers were great, French onion soup alone would be worth going back for. Fried chicken was not that good at all. Almost like it had been reheated? Crust was think and chunked off. My Husbands hot brown was what it is. Love the wine specials.

John Becker

Great place for a date or night out with friends. Cozy atmosphere. Upscale food, but won't hurt your pocketbook. Make reservations.

Drew Young

Great atmosphere, loved it for breakfast

Stephanie Nieves

Extremely disappointed with level of service that was provided to my family and I especially because this restaurant has been recommended to me by so many people. Food was ok but for what you pay, I had expected service to match and a wow factor on food...

Jim Holladay

Nice atmosphere. Upscale dining, so a bit pricey for the overall quality. $17 for a pretty basic omelette was not reasonable in my estimation. The service was adequate, though not terribly friendly.

Julia Rowland

Unique atmosphere but the food was very average. We were here for dinner, but I've heard it's better for brunch.

Rebecca Davis

Our service was fabulous. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The only negative for our group was the lack of vegan options. However the chef was accommodating.

Alex Oliver

Great outdoor seating. Good food. Great vibe

Josh Reeves

This place is literally at the end of the road. It's a great environment, and with the professional down to earth staff, that are prompt and precise, you can't really ask for more. The decor is wonderful and the drink selection is of the best in the business. I will always recommend this place to anyone that inquires, and can't wait to visit again. The food is fresh, and the finer details are routine. Keep it up!

Property Manager

How has it escaped me to write a review of the Village Anchor???? This is one of my most favorite places to go! The service is ALWAYS top notch and the food is fun and interesting and the $10 Tuesday deals downstairs at the Sea Hag are just about the best thing to have ever hit Louisville!

Mike Ware

Excellent Dinner, Tuesday Special...Roasted Chicken, Mashed potatoes and Green beans.....

Dennis Horn

Based on a Saturday brunch with a friend, we found this place to be fun and unique. The food was good but prices did not seem to match portion size or quality. We had what they advertise as a 4-egg omelet, which came to the table flat and uninspired, and the typical size of a 2-egg omelet (4 Cornish hen eggs perhaps?). Coffee was nice and bold but expensive. On a cold morning, the enclosed outdoor section was warm(ish) and wait staff was friendly. I'd like to go back in warmer weather and try their $10-Buck-Tuesday specials and perhaps even walk the park across the street.

Brian Telesh

Very comfortable. Both in comfort food and the historical type comfort ambiance. Location is a little off the beaten path but that is exactly what I love about it.

Clay Owens

Went and ate at the village anchor for brunch a few weeks ago. Let me recount my experience. First, it was cold outside. We were seated outside in a covered patio. There were several items in the room to provide heat including one heat lamp, a gas fireplace, and some electric fans. The efforts to heat the room don’t help much when they seat you next to a gap in the plastic tarp. Four of the six people in our party had to keep their coats on throughout the meal. Our waiter was nice enough (when we saw him, which was twice), but I do have a small gripe. During the drink orders I ordered sweet tea. After hearing my drink order, the waiter nodded and went to the next person. What he brought out, however, was unsweet tea with sugar packets. It’s not a huge deal, but he could have given me a heads up that they didn’t actually have pre-mixed sweet tea. Since I knew we were in for a long wait, I ordered a Caesar salad for an appetizer. They give you one crouton that is about the size of a biscuit, so it’s up to you to break the crouton into a manageable size. The dressing was nothing to write home about. They did place three anchovies slices on top of the salad. Me personally, I don’t care for raw anchovies. The taste of raw anchovies doesn’t really go with a salad, either. For my entree, I ordered the meatloaf sandwich. Sounded alright on the menu. A few critiques for the sandwich. The sandwich is served in a pretzel bun. Normally not a big deal. This bun, however, is enormous. This would be a good thing if the portion of meatloaf was also massive, but it isn’t. The end result is a 60-40 ratio of bread to sandwich filling that just doesn’t feel quite right. I would have been happy with a couple of pieces of toasted sourdough. Secondly, the candied bacon. I get it. People think candied bacon is awesome and much fancier than it actually is. This sweet bacon doesn’t belong on this sandwich. The hints of brown sugar in your mouth just seem out of place with the savory nature of the sandwich. Sub-par service, unaccommodating seating arrangements, and food that is trying too hard to be fancy results in my inability to give this restaurant a good review.

Tracie Stoll

Food was excellent. Service was excellent. We were seated outside on covered porch on a 94 degree day (when we had reservations) . Flys and heat took away from good food and service and made us rush through our meal. I would suggest if you seat folks outside on a very hot day, that you have better equipment on porches to handle heat and flys...(fans going faster with cool breezes ) Just a suggestion.

d camp

Every time I am surprised by how good the food is. The drinks are also amazing. While the price is higher than some other places, it is well worth it.

Paul Frey

Really neat atmosphere, very mid-southern food.

Amy Adams

A unique spot in a lovely location. If you love sweets, the sweet potato fries with a marshmallow dipping sauce is quite different.

Laura Kelly

Delicious food and very friendly staff. Definitely will return to try more.

Fenton Williams

Food was excellent as was the service!

Kelly Varvitsiotis

Delicious and Great Service. Very nice outdoor setting as well.

Kevin Klein

Located in prospect KY amazing food amazing atmosphere

Brandi B

If bacon could be brought from heaven, I'm pretty sure it would taste like the stuff on my BLT&A (avocado). And the sweet potato fries were right there with it. Highly recommend both!

A staple for Louisville Sunday Brunch also, everything is great! Bloody Mary selection, Breakfast classics, service, relaxing atmosphere--and you can't skip their candied maple bacon-

Warm atmosphere and vintage decor. The friendly and knowledgeable staff helped guide us to some delicious entrees. The Goat Cheese Gateau was outstanding, we would highly recommend it. My wife is not a “grits person “ per se, but she did enjoy the shrimp and grits. (Caveat emptor...the shrimp were slightly overdone and were not deveined as pictured in my pics of the dish.) If you like fishy flavored food, then I would recommend the Caesar Salad. Even if you ask them to hold the anchovies, it is in the dressing and makes the whole thing taste fishy. The Fish and Chips were a tasty dish.

The food was excellent, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was beautiful. This would have been an easy 5 star experience normally, but there were at least 50 flies in the patio dining area, and they were incredibly bothersome. I know to some extent that's not the restaurant's fault, but I feel like there has to be something they can do to reduce the population. It was the most flies I have ever experienced with a nice restaurant's outdoor seating area, and it was really distracting from the dining experience
