I absolutely love this place! The owners are so friendly, the servers are efficient and the food is phenomenal! I have been here about 10 times and I am always happy with my meal. My favorite breakfast item is the cornmeal pancakes. The toppings change with the seasons which I love! The Bloody Mary's are fresh and just spicy enough for me. I also very much enjoy the occasional evening events they have at the restaurant! Great music, wine and new menu items to sample. Thanks Baker's Table!!
Very accommodating . They let us sit outside since we had just finished up a run. They adjusted the umbrellas for us to give us optimal shade. The ricotta donuts were amazing as always. I had the summer miel before, and they were able to make it iced this time. My friends enjoyed all their food as well. Always a great experience
Great breads. Good brunch!
Loved the coffee! Fresh donuts was out of this world!
Great food, great service, and great drinks. Not too expensive and a great spot in Newport!
Good but overpriced.
Wow! This place was incredible. Heard about it through Facebook and had to check it out. Food was incredible and very rich. I got the fried chicken Sammie that comes on a biscuit, it blew me away. The fried potatoes were amazing and large enough to share. All of the bread is made in house and everything is local and farm fresh ingredients. The drinks were a little more expensive than I would have liked, but everything else was priced pretty well, especially for really good ingredients. The service was a little slow at times but they were also super super busy and they were very polite about it. Would Highly recommend!
This place has been an amazing addition to Newport and I hope there are other places of this caliber that start up downtown Newport. The menu is always changing with seasonal dishes that are amazing and make most things from scratch.
We had brunch here this morning and everything was fantastic! Great service, festive holiday ambiance and really good food! The Sammy biscuit is phenomenal! And we can tell the food is made with high quality grains. Highly recommend this place!
Lovely, seasonal offerings. Food was delicious, if underseasoned. I had the broccoli frittata with a side of bacon, my Mom had the the 2 egg breakkie w/bacon. Bacon could have been crisper. I also had the Aztec hot chocolate which was very interesting. Cons: limited drink selection. Would have enjoyed the option to do an ice cold Coke, even if it were bottled. NO ICE. Was served tepid water. I need ice people. At least ask? An offer "ice upon request" on the menu would be nice. Pros: Portion size perfect for breakfast. Delicious food. Attentive and knowledgeable staff. BEAUTIFULLY decorated. This place is so aesthetic.
Food was great. We will be back.
This restaurant will be the place go for the foreseeable future. While The Baker's Table is not normally open for dinner, YET, it is an amazing culinary jewel in Newport. I am fortunate enough to know the proprietors and have tasted the food. You will not want to miss this place. Even the simple Fried Chicken Sammy, the spicy honey/tobasco sauce is a perfect match to the crispy and most chicken. The biscuit stayed crunchy even with the slaw on it. In a word Amazing ! I can't wait to eat there again.
From start to finish, everything was wonderful!!! Warm atmosphere, great service, amazing beautiful food!! My new favorite place!!
Food looks good and it tastes great. Staff were attentive & the restaurant has a nice relax atmosphere.
Genuinely very good maybe a tad overpriced but the service is great
Good place for organic food. Great service
A very unexpected surprise that was very pleasant
Good pancakes, but very pricey and not a huge selection.
Very good food and service but a little pricey for lunch!
The food is simply amazing.
Friends took us here and I am in love with this place. My beet and potato hash was delicious. The butterfly tea was fantastic and a beautiful shade of blue. The ricotta donuts were to die for. We will definitely be back.
Excellent service and excellent coffee. Food is eclectic so, but also very good. Need reservations on groups of 7 or more
The apple cornmeal pancakes were very delicious but just so sweet I couldn't finish them.
Beautiful space! The coffee is good, the service is great, and all the food was very tasty. They have a small menu, but still serve a good selection of choices for breakfast.
Fabulous food. Great atmosphere. Good service.
Great food. Great service. Beautiful styling overall. Clearly attention is paid to every detail.
Excellent.
Unique eating place!
Awesome food, great mission!
Excellent family friendly atmosphere. Food was great and the staff was courteous and efficient.
The best experience in years. This restaurant is a game changer CONGRATULATIONS,
A bright spot in the neighborhood! They offer well executed seasonal brunch/lunch options in an aesthetically pleasing space. A must visit when getting together with friends/family.
My girlfriends and I were there Saturday morning and were excited about this place based on the reviews. I wanted to order light and requested two scrambled eggs and a piece of rye toast. I added a bottomless cup of coffee. Our order took a very long time and I was quite disappointed in my food. The eggs looked like no more than 1, and when I asked my waitress, she said, “I’m surprised more customers haven’t questioned the portion because I think it looks like less than two eggs too.” Secondly, I received one piece of toast and the charge was 4 dollars. Sorry, that’s just too much for one piece of bread. My bill was higher than both of my friends and they ordered complete breakfast entrees. I feel the waitress should know the menu well enough that she could have steered me to an entree that would have been more cost effective than ordering ala cart. I’m not sure I would go back.
This was our first visit and we will be back. The farm to table concept may limit the menu but that menu is full of flavor and goodness. I had the chicken sandwich and it just about melted in my mouth. The honey siracha sauce provided the perfect zing to the slaw topping. Great vibe. Plan to return soon.
One of my favorites restaurants! Has great service and a great selection on the menu. Would recommend for brunch!!!
This is what Newport needs!! Their food and drinks are creative and delicious! I haven't had their brunch yet but have gone to a few of their wine and flight events and the food has always been phenomenal. Definitely take a chance and try an item that you think you may not like (like beet hummus) and prepare to be pleasantly surprised! I really hope they start doing dinner service because Newport seriously lacks this type of quality food and it is definitely needed.
Unique food in a eclectic cafe
Fantastic food and service
Had a great experience today! The staff was extremely welcoming and kind. The food was amazing. From the well crafted coffee and cocktails to perfectly prepared biscuits that our sammys came on. Plus all the fillings! And pickled vegetables on the side?! Yes please. Crispy cornmeal pancakes, with apples and Chantilly cream. Just delicious.
The one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Great coffee, service was amazing, wonderful cafe feel. Will definitely come back the next time we are in Newport!!!
Best breakfast this side of the mason dixon line... visiting Cincy for #Blink2019 and stayed in Covington... I ate here for 3 of 9 breakfasts and still wish I could had done more
Have driven past this place many times on my way to Carabello Coffee. Finally stopped in for brunch. Tried the Breakfast Sammy with a side of Applewood bacon. Excellent balance of flavors which complimented the fluffy biscuit. The bacon...perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crispness. We'll definitely be back to try more of their offerings!
Older but remodeled building, very pleasant atmosphere, convenient parking, safe neighborhood. I suggest you dress up a little. Sloppy casual would not fit in. Reservations suggested. Crowd was eclectic, ranging from children to little old ladies, skewing toward a hip young adult demographic. The menu was brunch oriented and delicious. Portions not too big but just right. We took home a loaf of sour dough bread and some cookies, all baked on site.
Very nice place. Food was delicious, my son said it was one of the best burgers he's had. Lunch was $20 a person but worth it!
The food was very good but they still seem to be figuring things out a bit. Brought coffee but didn't ask if I wanted cream. Didn't have anyone there to make a Bloody Mary during Sunday brunch. It wouldn't have been a big deal but its not cheap and if I'm paying a premium price I want excellent service as well as great food. I'll chalk it up to growing pains and give it another try in a few weeks.
Incredibly delicious. Decor was beautiful, service was phenominal. Between the food and the vibes I thought I was back in my neighborhood breakfast spot in Brooklyn... A++ in my book.
Food was tasty and presentation very nice. Be prepared to wait. Service was extremely slow and portions are small. Will think twice before going back!
Baker's Table makes a damn fine egg in a basket. Their sourdough toast was on point! Crispy exterior, soft interior, with a generous helping of sharp flavor. The bacon was good too; crispy but still thick and juicy. I didn't taste their cheddar biscuits, but I saw one on their cold counter and it looked scrumscious. Someone's sandwich came out on the cheddar biscuit though and the food regret I felt told me what I would order the next time I came back.
This is the best brunch in town! A refreshingly unique menu with attention to detail makes this place truly special. Everything is made in house, down to the ricotta cheese used in their doughnuts (ORDER THESE!) and the coffee is excellent. This is my new brunch place.
Friendly people and delicious food. Kinda pricey but was worth it!
The food was good and our server was attentive and friendly (aside from not refilling our coffee). My party was however very put off after a someone approached us after we sat down and told us that per their large party policy, because 2 people from our reservation didn’t show up, we’d have to pay $10 each for the no-shows. They said they sent me this information in the confirmation email when I made the reservation, which I didn’t read... why would I?? Keeping in mind one of the No-shows was a 3-month old, and they did not have enough high chairs for the other two children in our party (despite making the reservation ahead of time), this is completely absurd, on top of just being a really unfriendly policy in the first place. We were at a community table with people not in our party anyway, and there’s no way we could have even got anyone else at the table. It was also a high top table, so the children sharing the one high chair couldn’t even see over the table, let alone eat at the table which was above eye level. The woman who told us this was very aggressive and downright rude, it really put a damper on our morning, which should have been a celebratory brunch with friends. Its not as if I signed a contract when I made the reservation; they snuck some policy in an email after the fact. Really snotty behavior, paired with a policy that just feels a bit slimy. I get you’re a small restaurant, but that’s part of owning a restaurant, and part of being a human who sometimes can’t make it to a reservation. Why punish everyone else in the group? So strange. Hope that $20 (that we refused to pay) was worth ruining our mood and losing our future business. None of us will be returning.
Fantastic staff, great atmosphere, and unrivaled food. I recommend a latte from Samantha's coffee bar paired with Chef Dave's Apple Cornmeal Pancakes.
BEST. BRUNCH. EVER!!! I've been here three times now and food is always incredible. Fresh ingredients are staples and everything that can be homemade is. Owners and staff are super friendly. Atmosphere is open and lively.
Best food!!!!
Always wonderful!
Charming and authentic place with great food, good people and extaordinary beverages and service. Felt at home (but not my home, someone's home who has more stylish taste and is really good at cooking's home)
I heard about this cafe that just opened from Google's recommendations. Came here Saturday 9am, and the place was filled with hipsters. The previous bbq place shut down and this new cafe sprung up in its place. The owner eschews the garage renovation idea an turned it into a cosy breakfast shop with bar. When we got there we had a group of 5 ahead of us and there were no tables free and a 20 minute wait for a table, and the noise from the customers chatting was the first thing I noticed. We sat at the bar, which did not leave much room for elbows. Bar was made of a nice clean quality white marble, which beside the few scratches indicating it had been previously used, matched the rest of the clenliness of the place. the stools are quite comfortable but the legs are made of some metal that allows the seated to flex them worryingly. The 2nd thing I notice are the Stacks of scones an cookies sitting deliciously under glass at the front register with some hand written captions. The whole place tries to capture the handcrafted essense, including the 2 unisex restrooms. Opening the marked door I am greeted with possibly Victorian themed furniture, I'm guessing procured from some outlet where it stood next to 10 other exact replicas, but everything was clean and had no odor. Ordered the biscuits and gravy, and endless coffee. The correctly sized portions arrived quickly and we were able to enjoy our meal in enough peace to allow relaxing, when I was able to hear my wife. I was hoping for a little more from the homemade biscuits, which were cold, an lacked any salty or buttery crust. The rest of it was excellent, including the endless coffee which was attended regularly by a bartendress (?) who was a point of fashion and attention piece and possible source of conversation for patrons. The attitude of all the workers were pleasant, despite the morning rush extra demands. Would reccomend to anyone within walking distance. Bill for 2 was 37$plus tip.
Upscale breakfast/lunch restaurant, food and drinks were great, server knowledgeable, nice interior design, the hosting has some room for improvement
Wonderful food. Great menu. Worth waiting for! Cocktail menu looked fantastic. Definitely going back.
Very good! Owner was a pleasant to meet and serve us. Down side is that they don't shop the local butcher shop down the street that has been there over 20 years.
Best grilled cheese ever. Nice refreshing ambience a swing away from everything modern and industrial yet relevant for all. New baby girl Willow is the real shining star.. May you find all of your aspirations in your place here on Monmouth Street Newport. Those cornmeal pancakes are already on my Next free weekend wanna try. I wish you much success Wendy and hubby chef Robin Clarke SPIN THE Healing
This place is INCREDIBLE. bomb coffee, bomb food, the best staff. If you haven't made it here yet, you definitely NEED to.
Amazing food and staff. There was a bit of a wait but we went during peak hours and enjoyed coffee and cocktails on the couch while we waited. Glad to have a other great restaurant in the neighborhood. We’re hoping they eventually open for dinner as well!
What a lovely day today. My daughters day off and she said let’s go for lunch at The Bakers Table. We have never eaten there but she told me that the reviews are great. They open only from 11am to 2.30pm. We were there at noon and it was busy. For the two of us it took 20 mins and so we walked around and talked. We got a table outside and the waiter was quick to take our orders. She had tea and I had watermelon drink with rum and lime. Yummy. Here are the photos and the food was very very tasty. Dave the chef came and talked to us. Been in a Ashram in California but moved here because of his wife who lives in Cincinnati.
I have been to the Baker's Table several times and just love it. The service staff is just so friendly and kind. The food is delicious. They have a few staple items like pancakes and fried chicken sandwiches that I can always count on even though they have a seasonal menu. I just love that they don't serve or carry anything that has corn syrup or perservatives. It is so nice to be able to eat a vegan or gluten free meal if I choose (I have gluten free/vegan friends). The owner who is also a chef comes out to say hello to guests and often checkins to see how things are going. This is just the nicest place. The weekends are the busiest, but the staff tends to seat guests very quickly. It is an everyone friendly establishment that is true to its motto. Feed people with love.
Good food and lots of people for Sunday brunch. Waitress was exceptional.
Seafood stew was just as good as any restaurant by the ocean! Excellant venue!
Awesome food, awesome service.
Three really wonderful things about this place. First, the coffee is outstanding. They serve Madcap coffee and have a La Marzocco espresso machine handled by some gifted baristas. Two, anything baked here is delicious. Three, it is fairly priced. The mains are large and wonderful for splitting. Bonus - beautiful ambiance as well with good service. Critical feedback - forgot to bring out plates to split the appetizer. Seems petty, but honestly the only thing that wasn’t perfect about the experience.
Food and service was Stellar!
Great healthy food!!
The Baker's Table is a watershed moment for restaurants in Newport. The breads and baked goods, the carefully crafted plates; exceptional.
Terrific!
The food, service, and atmosphere are all wonderful. My waiter was extremely nice and did a great job bringing the food out in a timely fashion. The owner came out to personally greet myself and my friend while we were dining. I felt welcomed and my stomach was filled. I highly recommend this wonderful little restaurant.
Great brunch. Great Service. I understand they are planning to open for dinner in October.
Great spot for breakfast brunch with friends. Small talk. Catching up. Unicorn Tea? Jasmine tea that changes colors.
Pretty much everything on the plate in house and it's all excellent. There's a public parking lot next door. They've created a nicer but still comfortable atmosphere. And good coffee to boot!
Thoughtfully crafted menu with tons of flavor. Loved the community table and best grilled cheese/tomato soup I have ever had!
Excellent food!
Delightful pleasant & fantastic service. Try the avocado toast excellent. Nice treat to add to Newport.
Best brunch place in the city hands down. I've had the pancakes (both kinds), the potatoes and the biscuits and gravy. I don't even like pork but the biscuits and gravy has convinced me otherwise. Everything has been 10/10. The coffee is SO good too. I get a vanilla latte with oatmilk. You can't go wrong.
Great food! Nice servers, but very slow... (they maybe forgot our order.) Worth the wait, but just know if might be a bit!
Excellent place to visit for breakfast in Newport! Visiting in the summer is great as well because the front windows open up to the outside!
Charming. Food is good but pricy.
Very delicious! I had the frittata during brunch with some bacon and it was fantastic. Limited seating, but there was free parking in the lot next door, which is a huge plus. I'd love to go back for lunch or drinks.
Great place to eat. Good service with friendly servers.
They serve variations on brunch. The donuts are round balls and are delicious. I had braised meat with polenta and a poached egg and coffee. The place was packed and the noise level was a little more than I like. Limited alcohol drinks were available. I would go there again as food was well prepared considering the restaurant has only been open 6 weeks. Service seemed a little disorganized but no one was standing around.
This is seansonal cuisine strait from the farm. All of the food, including the drinks have natural raw ingredients. If your a soda person they have all natural root beer and ginger beer. The staff is great, ask for anything and they’ll be sure to meet your needs. The menu is small but changes with the seasons. However, cornmeal pancakes are always in season and so delicious!
Best pancakes I've ever eaten! Great service! The aesthetics of the building were unique. I highly recommend the blueberry pancakes made with cornbread. Melted in my mouth! Good portion size, definitely share with someone.
Everything was perfect. The Baker’s Table stands out among the best restaurants in our area. Every person we interacted with was so kind and welcoming. The atmosphere is lively but not crowded. The food was fresh and delicious. We had an overall great experience.
Excellent service. Great coffee. Nice bright clean comfortable ambience. Clearly management and staff care about their customer's experience.
Great menu! Food seasoned beautifully.
I’ve been to Bakers Table twice. First the interior is definitely appealing and there exists character not found in chains. Both times we’ve been, the order has been completed in error - there is a feeling that the servers are doing too many things at once to get that piece right. I’ve witnessed others nearby on both occasions where the orders were incorrect so it seems to be an issue. The menu is good and the food we have eaten both times has been exceptional. My reason for 3 stars is related to service. There’s a hurry and leave vibe you get the entire time you are there. So much so, the last time we were told that we had 10 more minutes and then we had to leave. NO ONE WAS WAITING ON A TABLE AT THE TIME and there were other empty tables. We were occupying a 4 top that evidently had other aspirations. I’m not sure how this plays well for a service business but they won’t need to tell me twice that I don’t have to go home but I just can’t stay there.
Highly successful brunch trip! Sat at the bar. Drip coffee was exceptional, we even bought a pound of beans afterword. Highly recommend the donuts as an appetizer, hot and delicious! Ordered the frittata and breakfast sammie, both were wonderful.
The donuts, fried chicken sandwich, biscuits and gravy, and egg-in-a-hole are all awesome. The bread here is SO good.
Amazing food! Love that the chef comes out and greets everyone while running the food. So glad to have great food nearby! Thanks for bringing this great place to Newport.
Charming character and cozy atmosphere. The service was fantastic although the server left me with an empty drink for quite some time. The reason for 3 stars, the food and drinks were average at best. I had the sweet potato hash, a donut with lemon curd, a blood orange, and grapefruit mimosa. This was easily something I could have made at home and made it better and I’m not a great cook by any means. The hash had good flavor but it was mostly sweet potato. I paid $13 for a sweet potatoes and egg. The donut reminded me of the donuts my dad made for us when we were little. You know the biscuit donuts you cut out the center with a bottle cap. Deep fry them and dip them in sugar and cinnamon. The lemon curd was pretty tasty. Honesty not sure if i’ll Be back for anything other than drinks. Love having a new restaurant nearby but it just didn’t my meet my expectations.
Delicious made from scratch food! Definitely look forward to visiting again
Visited on a Thursday morning about 11 AM. It was very busy but we were seated at the community table immediately. Service was very good and the food was very tasty. We'll be back.
With all the good reviews, I was excited to try this place for my birthday. I was actually pretty disappointed. The food was good but I felt overpriced, especially with no sides included. Service was ok. It was way too loud inside.
Great new spot with a feel that’s both cozy and elegant. The food is the same way, like the egg biscuit with arugula for only $6.50. Clean and simple flavors, good coffee, good baked goods. Highly recommend.
Always a great experience
Great service and amazing food
Great burger and super nice service a great restaurant
Food was fantastic, but service was slow. It is definitely worth waiting, but make sure you set aside the time to wait!
Had brunch it was delicious. Great bloody Mary and french toast and chicken on biscuit were quite good. Great vibe
Super friendly staff and scrumptious menu. Don't miss out on the Italian donuts or specialty coffees! Can't wait to go back!
Fantastic brunch spot! The espresso is flavorful, bright, and fruity. The chai was complex and not overly sweet. The breads were all excellent! Such a cute, charming space! We will definitely be back!
Food quality: One of the best brunch menus we've seen in quite a while. Will return
My favorite restaurant in the Greater Cincinnati area. It's charming, the service is always friendly, and the food is exceptional.
The chicken on a biscuit was excellent. The red wine selection was delicious and the coffee after lunch was superb. Great ambiance, convenient parking and Chef Dave was out to greet us with a friendly smile. A wonderful experience for me and my mom!
Didn’t get to eat here this morning even though there were plenty of tables - a 2 topper was available - “oh, there was a ‘glitch’ in our reservation system and we don’t usually reserve for ‘small parties’ but we did”. Ok, how about one of those two available tables that seat four. “We are holding those”. “ You can sit at the bar, the community table, or outside”. Why would a business rather turn away a paying customer versus “holding” a table in case someone comes in? With all the new restaurants opening throughout Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati, you would think customer service would be a priority? Oh well, businesses come and go but without customers......
Great ambiance and delicious food! I had the French toast, and my husband had the biscuit w/ gravy. We enjoyed the complement of savory and sweet.
right off the bat we just have to acknowledge that the baker's table food is infect fantastic, the praise and accolades and lates and delays are because this food is really really good. Executed simply, but at a high level. moving beyond that let's talk about those weights. Went in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon was about a 20-minute wait to get seated, then when we put our order in is about 40 minutes actually start to get any of our food, initially just the salad with chicken. It is a very small serving of chicken, it shouldn't take 40 minutes to make a salad, and it was... Delicious. It was honestly one of the best salads I've had at a restaurant, especially at this price point. Perfectly well-dressed, flavorful, and interesting flavor combinations. Then there was another delay until we actually got what we ordered, a frittata topped with a decent amount of frisee, and a single biscuit with gravy and a single egg. I had thought it was biscuits and gravy, so I was a little trepidatious. Literally the best brisket I've ever had, would go back just to eat more of those biscuits, and the gravy was pretty damn good too. I definitely want to check this place out again, I just don't know when a good time to do so is, but I'll make sure to get some biscuits to go when I do.
Great food, great service
Great breakfast options and fantastic coffee
Best brunch on this side of the Ohio River
