This Restaurant belongs to the category of Indian restaurant.
This place is great. The best Indian food in Lexington.
Great food, took 45 min to get it though. However, 2nd rounds of Kingfisher taken care of!
Wine and you best things.
I've tried several Indian cuisine restaurants in the area and this is by far the best! Good food and service and the staff is nice! This place is my go-to!
Great food, nice space!
Good food good service. Clean and pretty. Good choice for a datenight.
This is our most visited Indian restaurant in Lexington. The buffet is always good. The staff is friendly. They give a good portion for a reasonable price.
Good food. Nice decorations. The staff could be more amicable.
This is easily the best Indian food in Lexington. I usually carry out, but I recently ate in the dining room and had so much attention from the wait staff that I felt like a raja! You must try the goat biryani, but beware the bones. So good!
I loved the food. It was perfectly spicy and the staff was very friendly
Good food, hearty portions.
We went in the day. The buffet was just average and was probably leftovers from the last day. Food was missing flavor and spice. All paneer items DIDNT have paneer!!!
Very poor service. Went in to order 2 meals to go, I left the restaurant an hour later. Horrible service but good food though.
Delicious food, relaxing atmosphere and quality service. I recommend it 100% and I will be back very soon.
Tandoor is amazing! Great food, great service, great atmosphere!
Excellent food and service. Would definitely go back!
Super delicious, I love that they have things listed at vegan on the menu. The Aloo Gobi is perfect, I get it 5/5 on the spice and it's exactly what I want. They were concerned about the fact that the samosas are fried in oil that has had meat fried in it. Since that isn't a priority for me I enjoyed them greatly.
Food was good. Service was good. Can not justify the $12 per person charge for a lunch buffet that consisted mostly of chicken, fish and vegetables.
Its great for the weekend buffet feast..
Food is always on point! Chai tea is amazing.
Very delicious food! Best Indian restaurant in Lexington!
My favorite Indian restaurant. Great lunch buffet at a reasonable price.
Best Indian food you can eat
Tasty Indian cousine...always a delight to eat here.
Food and service was very very good.
Great service! And consistently good food!
Tandoor is high quality food at a conpetitive price. The new building is very nice and well taken care of. The lunch buffet has many choices and everything i have ever had off the dinner menu has been amazing. Treat yourself next time you go out with your significant other and try the five course dinner for two. It is worth every cent.
They even had a vegan and Vegetarian menu which was quite nice.
Nice place to eat. Great service.
Great food. Vegetarian/Vegan options
They had really good food and also inside was so fantastic
Great food, friendly service and beautiful decor. One of our favorite places to eat. Their coconut shrimp is the bomb! Love, love, love their cauliflower appetizer. So many delicious Naan bread to choose from. Try it, you'll like it!
So delish everytime!
Food was awesome service is great. We ordered ahead since we were driving to Cincinnati and they accommodated us. Great ambiance very clean restaurant. If we lived in Kentucky we would go to this place quite often.
Always delicious every time I come here. Best Indian food around.
Always great
Delicious authentic Indian food!
We had a great experience on our way back to Cincinnati. The chicken was delicious and amazingly tender. Good ambience and service. Best wishes for further success
Tandoor is my top Indian restaurant in Lexington. I would highly recommend the lunch buffet! Large selection, fresh naan, and wonderful service.
Delicious Indian food, friendly staff. The go to place for Indian food in Lex.
Pretty Restaurant.. The food made me sick and it was very bland compared to other Indian restaurants I've been to.. But it was a really pretty restaurant.. I'd write more but I can't stop vomiting :(
Very good
Bad stuff and service They didn’t be welcome with me I don’t know why and the food is cooled
I've eaten a lot of Indian food from around the country, and this has been some of the best yet! One of the few places where you can order your food "Indian Hot", and it will come out as spicy as you had hoped! Very impressed with the food, service, and cleanliness! We will be back many, many times!
One of Lexington's best kept secrets. Phenomenal Indian food, and an amazing lunch buffet. Rarely crowded, and moved into a trendy new spot in late 2016/early 2017. Awesome curry, but can't go wrong with anything.
Favorite kind of food. Always reliable
Friendly, hot food with nice selection, dishes change daily so you don't get burnt out. The nan is top notch fresh fried.
We ordered our food, over $50 worth, and sat waiting at the table for over 45 minutes. The same waitress approached asking if we had our order taken yet. The place was not that busy so I'm puzzled how one would not recall taking our order. She apologized and found the ticket she had previously written. We received our food after about an hour of waiting. She told us she would give us a discount, which consisted of not having to pay for a drink I had when we first arrived. Overall I was very dissapointed.
Good food
Service is ok but taste perfect
Everything is
Love the new, updated Tandoor! Same great food and an amazing buffet. The new restaurant looks very hip and modern and the service was friendly and quick.
Got to the restaurant shortly before 5 p.m. and they weren't open yet my friends were shopping next door at the grocery store Apna Bazar... The guys who working on the restaurant where inside having chai tea and were nice enough to let me in and join them!! I felt this was Superior to any other restaurant I've been to, I will definitely come back here and I give it 5 Stars the food was excellent and the service was amazing the atmosphere is beautiful with blue lights lit up all over the restaurant it has a very elegant feel and can also be very private and romantic if you come early...
Tasty buffet. Seems like they have held back on their seasoning a little...probably to be more appealing to broader customer base. Could use slightly better service skills....just a bit awkward for the hosts and waiters. Over all pretty good visit.
Best Indian restaurant in Lexington but their set up is ridiculous. We're always seated right next to the buffet and people waiting in line were literally leaning on our table. I love good customer service but it seems like we get at least 5 employees checking on us every 2 minutes. Too many cooks in the kitchen.
Their food is delicious! I did miss the Mango and Fruit pudding they used to have ob their buffet.
A gem. Took my family there for Sunday brunch. I was surprised to find an Indian cuisine restaurant this nice in a city as small as Lexington. The decor is definitely upscale. The wait staff attentive. Someone was always watching the food and keeping it fresh. There was a very nice selection of dishes. My entire family loved it and want to go back.
Good buffet at a nice price.
I love asian food and had a lot of chicken tikka masala from other restaurants , they had the best moisture chicken and great favors!
While Indian food is not my preference, I had a very positive experience at Tandoor. The young server knew the menu offerings well, and helped me decide on a dish that I would enjoy. The servers were all attentive and helpful. The dishes were plentiful and we had leftovers to bring home. They even gave us some additional rice to add to what we were taking home. I would recommend Tandoor to anyone who would ask.
They have nice and helpful staff, great vegan options.
This is my go to place for Indian food! The lunch buffet always has a large selection, and I enjoy that it’s different every time, allowing you to try multiple different dishes from the menu. For dinner we usually order it to-go from their website online and we’ve never had an issue with our food!
Such a good place. Usually feel judged in certain places, but the people here are so friendly. The lunch buffet is so good and has plently of different foods if you like to try new things.
Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere.
18 year happy customer. For my taste it's the best in Lex
Very good food. Quick, friendly service. Highly recommend the samosas, and the aloo chole.
Excellent Indian buffet for about $11. There is also a menu to order from, though I didn't look at it since I knew I'd be doing buffet. Huge selection, the largest I've ever seen and delicious food. The staff is pleasant and they remove your used plates often. They also have a bar, which seemed to be quite popular. The decor is more upscale than the typical Indian restaurant. They have clusters of TV's, though they are almost muted. I think this is the best Indian restaurant in Lexington.
We went there one day because we found out it's in walking distance of our place. I was really happy with the food and the service! धन्यवाद
Great food. Excellent service.
Best Indian food that I had so far in different cities, plus the price is very good
Excellent hospitality and great food!
The food is awesome!! Lunch buffet has so many options for both vegetarians and meat lovers. Sweet options were little limited though. Ambiance was a bonus , very neat and clean with a contemporary look. Very spacious, so waiting time was okay. Staffs are very friendly and professional. Price was very reasonable. Must say, we drove 1 hour and it was worth of such a long drive for lunch . A must try , if you are around Lexington area.
Great Food! Good Ambiance!
Delicious food, excellent service, and lovely new location! Nice selection of mixed drinks and draught beer.
good lunch buffet, a bit pricey
The service, the people, environment and food was amazing. I will be going back!!
Excellent buffet, for the novice to try or the experienced to enjoy.
Food was really amazing. Everything was delicious and well made. It has been a while since a meal surprised me with flavors, and my girlfriend and I both agreed it was excellent. Went on a Sunday night- not very busy but not dead either. Wait staff was attentive but not intrusive. Not very friendly people but then again, I don't go out to eat to make friends! The food was spot on! We did the dinner for 2, and it was plenty of food and had leftovers for lunch the next day. Also very fairly priced. Will definitely be going back soon!
Food not so great.
The food is amazing! Staff is friendly. The decoration is very extravagant but nice! Very clean.
Buffet has a great selection of delicious food. Staff was super and there is plenty of space for large groups. Highly recommend!
Way above average. Epic buffet selection. Comfortable. Bathrooms surprisingly nice. Will definitely return. A big bustling place. Nice decor. The tea was delish.
I thought the offering at the express was a bit better. Food and chicken was a little stale. Friendly service
Best Indian Restaurant in Lexington.
Good Indian food with many different choices.
Delicious, abundant variety of authentic Indian food. It was my first visit. I will return here for Indian food bar none! Good service also .attentive but awkward.
Love the food..very clean..fresh food. Great service.
Excellent food, Ambience and service... Amazing...
I love this place! Very nice decor, friendly staff and delicious food.
My favorite Indian restaurant in Lexington. The staff are fr enjoy and will remember regulars. The food is always good. I’ve never had an issue here
We were driving from NC at night and it was raining heavy and we weren't able to find any other open restaurants. This was the only restaurant we found which was on the verge of closing. Still, they packed us Chicken Biryani and Lassi. The biryani was too delicious to describe. Very hospitable and polite owners. Highly recommended place, at least for Biryani.
I enjoyed the food the first time, but when I tried to use my lex18 deal coupon the 2nd time I was denied. They said they will no longer accept them even though the expiration date is clearly marked and was valid at the time. I will never eat at these restaurants again. They have 2 locations and I recommend you not visit them based on their shady business practices.
Nice Indian restaurant in Lexington KY
Very good food. I love it.
Chicken 65 is awesome and so is coriander chicken. Attire is very nice. Good varieties for Alcohol.
My family has always loved Tandoor Restaurant and we've celebrated many special occasions over Indian food in the original location and the new location at the opposite end of the strip. The new location is definitely more elegant but the food is still great. The kids love the korma and the server never bats an eye when we order multiples of it. The tandoor naan bread is extremely good; the peshwari style is my favorite. We've always had exceptionally good waitstaff. I believe it's changed hands a few times over the years with some ups and downs along the way. Since the move, it is definitely in an upswing. I left the restaurant uncomfortably full last weekend - that last bit of chana masala was just too good to leave behind.
The staff are attentive to the patrons and glasses do not stay empty. This was my first time eating Indian food and it was well worth the wait. Will be coming back. So happy Avtar recommended this restaurant. Thank you.
Amazing! Everything is so good here and it is a beautiful restaurant
Good stuff, I was trying to get some turbo spice and ordered Indian spicy level 5. It was quite tasty and still edible dispite the max spice order.
Excellent food, atmosphere and service. We go here frequently and consistently have a great experience. I would highly recommend.
Rich and exotic good food.
So good place to eat
Best Indian food in Lexington. The lunch buffet is a great value for the money. Some of the best dishes include chicken tikka masala, mango chicken, curries and saag paneer. Very friendly and courteous service.
I absolutely love this restaurant, my boyfriend and I eat here whenever we can. The new location is beautiful. They even have a lunch buffet. They will also deliver depending on the size of the order.
Low quality food, poor service, average prices.
My favorite Indian restaurant!! Im vegetarian / gluten free. They have alot of options for me. Beautiful place to eat, friendly staff and the best lunch buffet ever!
good price. One of the best environmental restaurants.
I think this place is so pretty. The owners are so super nice and genuine people. They are tberetomakeeveronefeel special. They also provide delivery which is easy to order online or by calling. If you cll, thenyouareabletotip the driver. Ordering goblins you are not able to tip them.
Fantastic food and service! We will definitely be back!
Very good. Staff helpful in making the right choices for a vegan meal.
Amazingly delicious, every single time. The server was very kind, helpful, and generous! I can't wait to go back.
Teasty food, far better than last few years, Good service, nice eating place.
Really good food, a nice selection of vegetarian items on the buffet, and even some vegan items!
Good food n service. I should have brought better company to eat with thou. Lol.
I love their lamb chops! And they have the best french fries!
Very goood
Always enjoy the weekly Buffet and now that they deliver that's even better
The ambience is really nice, but the food takes forever
The food just keeps on getting better! Masala used to be our favorite, but last time we ate there, they had started adding sugar to all of their food. Not good.
This restaurant is absolutely stunning in every way. The food is out of this world, the atmosphere is lovely, and the service is both friendly and fast! On Sundays they have a buffet with a special on margaritas I believe. Their cocktails are superb. I love coming here with my friends and could not recommend it more.
This was not the usual one-sauce-fits-all indian restaurant. Excellent coriander chicken and lamb byriani served promptly and without fuss. The fact that it was so busy on a Sunday evening spoke for itself.
Like the buffet style during lunch.
My hubs and. I are addicted to our new favorite place to get our Indian food fix. Great menu, portions and price. Super happy we finally tried this place.
I hate to give this place too good of a rating because I want to keep it for myself, it's great! Weekend lunch buffet is the best because you can try so many delicious Indian foods and discover find you may have never known to order. Everyone can find something they love there! My 5 year old absolutely loves this page for its naan and "orange chicken" (chicken tiki masala).
Been here twice now..the restaurant is nice.. large dining area.. food is good, the buffet during lunch was more american than Indian.. was a little bland.. the dinner service was great.. lot of things in the menu and taste was amazing...the complimentary paapad and green chutney was unbeatable...
Best Indian food in Lexington. Always enjoy our meals. The first time we visited, our waiter selected some items off the menu for us since we weren’t sure what to try and it was all crazy good. The Ghobi Manchurian appetizer is one of my favorite dishes. I always try to order something new and have not been disappointed. Have also been for the lunch buffet, which I’d recommend.
Great food on the buffet table!
Get the buffet it's the best
Best Indian buffet i’ve ever had. Seriously amazing Not much of the food on the buffet is spicy but it all has tons of flavor. There’s always something new to try and it’s all always amazing. Also that have the best Diet Coke ever.
I won't to this restaurant food is very good I am from Boston I love this food great service
I am not usually a fan of buffets due to lack of cleanliness, but Tandoor pleasantly surprised me. The restaurant is so clean and beautifully maintained, the staff is very attentive and friendly, and the food is high quality and delicious. I would definitely recommend Tandoor Indian Cuisine.
Good buffet spread for lunch. Have been here multiple times. Interiors feel upscale yet prices are reasonable. Carrot halwa stood out in desserts . Fast service ,polite staff. All the times food felt warm and freshly prepared. Would always be my choice if on the list, anytime.
Had a great time, good food and nice atmosphere. Service was good
One of the best Indian restaurants in Lexington, they just need to have a double sided buffet instead of one, cause when it’s busy it’s too busy and people has to stand in a long line that goes by the tables where people are seated to eat! It doesn’t look good.
They often leave bits out of the order. I called to ask them to deliver naan I ordered, they wouldn’t answer until I called from another number, then told me I could drive over and get it, or they could deliver it tomorrow when I order.
My wife and I have visited Tandoor on multiple occasions starting at their old location to their current location on Mapleleaf Drive. Unfortunately, while the food may be the best Indian food in Lexington, that isn't saying very much. In general, we have found the food to be lacking in flavor and the menu is the same generic north Indian-based cuisine you find at most Indian restaurants. Although I know what authentic Indian food tastes like, it's not fair to hold it to that standard so I won't. If I were to make my review solely based on the food compared to other Indian restaurants I have visited in America as a whole, I would give it a 3 out of 5 stars. Regrettably my issues with Tandoor extend beyond the food. First, while the interior of the restaurant is very spacious, the environment in the restaurant makes enjoying your meal very difficult. There are bright blue accent lights all over the restaurant, obnoxious cliche Bollywood music as well as 5 TVs in the central dining area. All of these are big distractions. Any one of these might be fine, but all of them together are just too much. Second, we have had consistently below average to poor service. The time to get your order can vary significantly between visits and sometimes you have to really push the staff to give you your bill or to refill your water. One time my veg tandoor had chicken in it so always double check. Third and finally, and this is what really ruined Tandoor for my wife and I, is that we have had very awkward interactions with the staff. We are mixed-race couple (Indian and American) and we have very different experiences when we come here together versus separately. On our last trip together, the wait staff completely ignored us and simply left a pitcher of water on the table instead of attending to our drinks like they did with all of the other tables. We weren't asked a single time if the food was correct or service acceptable (it was not, the mint paratha did not have mint, the tandoor mixed veg was tasteless, we did not get our drinks or our bill). Every other party was treated respectfully as you would expect in a restaurant except for us. I would normally attribute this to a bad waiter if this happened only once, but this has occurred on previous visits as well. When either of us go individually with our (all white) work groups this never happens and we have always gotten great service. Needless to say we can get generic Indian food at a number of places in town and I will always choose to go the one where we are treated respectfully. For that reason I don't think we will go to Tandoor again and you shouldn't either. Go somewhere like Masala Indian Cuisine where you get similar if not better food and good service regardless of your race or relationship status.
My husband and I drive an hour just to eat this food a few times each month.
The lunch buffet is unrivaled in town. Food is delicious and quite affordable. Restraunt is also immaculatly clean.
Love this place. Clean, fresh and new. Their buffet is loaded with goodies and they have great options for vegans. Loved their spicy chicken.
The buffet was a bit bland
The absolute best Indian buffet. We drive close to an hour to eat here.
Picked up food for an event the food was great and the price was also good. Forgot to take pictures we ate it too fast...
It's good place , everything is good but owner never give tips to their server
Scrumptious. Love trying different cuisine.
Very good lunch buffet when we visited on Friday! The selection was wide and everything we had was enjoyable. There was rice, fresh naan, two types of pakora, chicken tikke masala, chicken biryani, tandori chicken, another chicken dish, fish curry, two vegetable dishes, a dal, muttar paneer, and vegetable saag, as well as two sweet dishes, chutneys and fresh veggies, and chai. The food was all very good, the waiters were attentive, and the restaurant itself was lovely. It was particularly fun to see the naan being made by hand behind the buffet. I adore Indian food, and this restaurant was definitely worth the visit.
Excellent taste of indian food. I am indian and whenever i feel home sick i come here for the food. The food never disappoints. It is a bit more on the expensive side but i do still enjoy the food a lot. The restaurant is designed really well, it look cool and fancy. The atmosphere is like a regal high class indian theme and i thought that was super cool.
Hands down, this is my favorite Indian restaurant in town. Their newer location is so nice too! High quality food and very inviting staff!
I stopped by yesterday and got to see the new building for the first time. It looks great but still has a similar vibe to the older building. The food was delicious as usual. I was told that the Chef is what "makes" Tandoor. He is obviously very adept at what he does. Tandoor is the best -- perhaps in the city of Lexington.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Best goat curry in Lexington! Lunch buffet is also quite good and always served fresh.
Great place. Clean✌
Very bad food ,rude staff, stinky smell foods , old rotten food. Never ever go there
The worst customer service ever!!! I have been there with my husband a couple of times. Me and my husband are a mixed race couple and on more occasions than one I have felt xenophobia from the staff at this restaurant. It took them 40 minutes to get our food out, we got a pitcher of water to pour ourselves water ( which I don't mind on a regular occasion ) but none other tables had pitchers and they were filling their water personally. Never came to ask us for a box 20 minutes after we finished our meal and never came to ask us for a check and we had to go to the bar to pay for the dinner. The food was bland and not good either but the staff is rude and customer service the worst!!! Never returning to this place ever!!
Supern Indian cuisine with a very nicely redone restaurant interior. Spacious and relaxing. Enjoy some seriously tasty and spicy (if you like) Indian dishes.
Fabulous.
My wife loves this place! She said it is her favorite Indian food place out of the three states we've lived. I enjoyed it as well and I'm a more traditional burger and fries kinda guy. I recommend it just for something new!
The food is delicious and a good variety on the lunch buffet. The staff is super friendly and its always clean and inviting inside.
Nice food with Indian taste
