This was a great place to eat and work. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that loves BBQ or brisket. Teri, Andrew, and Victoria always greeted the guests with a smile. Jason and Tom were always trying to take care of the customers.

Been eating at Sonny's as a child in FLA. The sliced brisket and garlic toast is my favorite creamy Cole slaw and extra Krispy crinkle fries. My only complaint is there is not one in Winchester

Food was fine but waitress was so loud it was hard to talk to people sitting at my booth. She rushed by table so you couldn't ask for refill or salad plates. Didn't tell us the SOUP and salad bar didn't have soup until after we ask for a bowl. Soup is now a delicacy only offered on Wed and Sunday!

Waited almost an hour after arriving to get food. Then my baked beans looked like a baked potato and my slaw looked like Mac and cheese. The cornbread came out as garlic bread. The to go order I placed was also wrong with the sides. The meat was good, but the service was very poor. No offer to adjust ticket. We are putting a Red X on this place.

In town from WI so finding good BBQ spots when I travel south for work is a must. All the staff were really friendly and looked like they like they’re job so must have good management. All my food was awesome. Of course my ribs and brisket were my favorite but I will say that the baked beans, potato salad, and cornbread were top tier sides compared to others that I’ve had especially the beans. If I’m back in Richmond you can catch me here for sure.

They charge around 8.00 for a sandwich, a side and a drink. It's pretty good food. I had the pulled pork sandwich and BBQ beans. It would have been a lot better but they forgot to put my mild sauce in the bag. I also didn't get any silverware. There wasn't anyone ahead of me and it took about 8 minutes after I ordered to get my food in the drive thru.

We would definately go back. The cole slaw was perfect, BBQ beans were awesome, my husband said his chicken needed more salt, my pulled pork was very good. Our waitress was very polite and attentive.

Sonny's is really good BBQ. One thing I never understood is why it's so expensive. I know all the steps you go through to make it. But, they choose that type of food. Deal with it. Make it more affordable to eat there more often. They knew what they were getting into. And that's your answer! THEY KNEW!! Employees are great, wait staff are some of the best. The salad bar looked like a high school football team was there right before you. It was just after lunch, so I give them a pass on that, but just once. Assign 1 person to tend to the salad bar during lunch hours!! Problem solved! They have a drive thru. We used that option a few times, everything was correct and warm by the time we got home, which isn't far. They give lots of packets of the different sauces when you ask. I don't understand though why it takes so long to get through when you're the only car. Isn't it all pre-made and ready to go? It's not like they have to BBQ a pork butt when you place your order!! Very good food!!

We ordered a big meal for pickup, on Christmas Eve no less, and the food was just fantastic. The folks at Sonny's BBQ had everything ready for pickup except the chicken tenders (for the kiddos), they wanted to have those fresh out of the fryer and it only took about 8 minutes. Everyone was extremely friendly, the amount of food versus cost was extremely reasonable and treated amazing. Spent just under about three hundred dollars and that fed 3 families, 6 adults and 4 kids, with leftovers for all three families for two more evening's worth of food each. Honestly the experience was fantastic and I can't recommend this place enough.

The smoked BBQ chicken wings were the best I've ever had! They are listed under appetizers, but I ordered them as my meal. I don't think I would have been able to share them (they were that good). Our waitress was attentive, but left us alone enough that we were able to enjoy our conversation. Overall, it was a great experience!

I enjoy coming to Sonny's for lunch or dinner. Pork three ways is my normal but sometimes I go for chicken and ribs. You get a good portion of food for the price. Most of the servers are fine although they do have a couple that seem slow or uninterested in being there. Overall it's a good place to eat at a fair price.

This restaurant is one of my favorites. They have a good selection of food and BBQ sauce. The ribs are cooked very good and same with the pulled pork. The service is good and the place is clean. The salad bar has a good selection of things to put on your salad. The staff is very nice

Best place to pig out on all the best BBQ and cornbread! Make sure you wear loose pants cos you will pop a button or some seams, guaranteed. If you're a vegan or vegetarian, you won't be for long... they've got amazeballs cornbread but you can't resist that meat smell that smacks you in the face from a couple blocks away.

This facility is currently under renovations at the moment 8/14/19. Other than the renovations taking place the staff were super friendly and food was prepared quickly and tasted great. Often the service you receive you leave a positive impact on your dining experience. This was the case at this location, with excellent staff and service from start to finish. I would recommend Sonny's BBQ if you're in the area.

Delicious BBQ. Lots of variations, they even have Signature sandwichs... which I must say are delicious too! All sauces come on side, if you order the beef brisket that bring you some great au jus. Salad bar is a plus for those wanting to create your own!

Not worth $14. Not worth $8. The service was fair but the meat on my sandwich was skimpiest I've ever seen in 30 yrs. When server asked how it was I showed it to her and mentioned I had never gotten a sandwich that skimpy at a Sonny's in any State. She replied, "It's probably the cook", and walked off. It was like eating 2 slices of Texas Toast with bbq sauce in the middle. I will avoid the Sonny's in Richmond from now on and trek 10 miles to Berea instead. There's a great litter BBQ Restaurant there by the northern exit on the west side.

A solid 4/5 stars. It's been awhile since I have been to a Sonny's, and it's still decent. I've had far worse BBQ, but I have had better. The prices, in my opinion, should command a slightly higher quality, but the food is still pretty darn good. I will return for more, which is as good of a recommendation as any.
