Sat at bar, got beer as soon as i sat down. Ordered an appetizer it was great as well. Had couple more beers got bill and was very reasonable. Good crowd of people in there as well. It was crowded but place was operating efficient. Appears to be well managed

Food was 'eh'. My wife's food had cheese on top and they just melted a slice of cheese on it. Tasted blah. Catfish was greasy and sides were cold. Beer selection was pretty sad. Bud, bud light, miller, miller light, coors light..... Really? Just a run of the mill bar with tired decor and food you feel like a sap for spending good money on.

I have not had a bad experience with the food or service here.I see where somebody gave a low rating because they did not get anything free for a birthday.It is a restaurant,not a welfare program.The employees are fantastic and this is the best food experience I have had since I moved here in January.I moved here from Nashville which has a lot of overpriced restaurants.You don't have to go to Evansville to enjoy a good meal.It's all right here.

It's always an excellent experience at Rookies. I had the Southern Fried Catfish meal and could not believe how large the portions were. The catfish was golden fried, tender and extremely tasty! Our waitress did a great job. We will be back!

Local hot spot. They often have bands. Great spot to catch a ball game. I would say they are much more than a bar. The restaurant has typical bar menu in addition to a wide variety of other foods...like seafood and pasta. They have great specials. Right now running a weekly special of a choice of one of their specialty burgers like mushroom swiss or others with fried egg (they change weekly) includes fries and a beer for 10.99. Great value.

Im travelling for business and have never been to the area before. I came to Rookie's with two coworkers of mine after realizing that the place we tried to go to, across the street, had closed down. I ordered the shrimp and crab tortellini, which was very good. The other dishes brought to the table were the prime rib, which received really high praise from the guy who ordered it, and a chicken sandwich that looked good from my side of the table. The server was friendly and fun to talk to. She gave good recommendations and made us feel really welcome. She also explained that there is a restaurant portion if you'd prefer to avoid the sports bar setting, which opens this place up to a broader audience. I would definitely recommend this place for above average sports bar food and a fun atmosphere.

We went for a night cap at 12:30 and they told us they were closed!!! The internet says they do not close until 2 a.m. we informed the girl at the door. She says “sorry it is employees only” as we see a man dancing on the bar. Ridiculous! Do not post hours if you are not open during those hours!!

The company I work for had their annual holiday party here a few weeks ago. My experience was with the room upstairs, though the overall ambiance was very nice and not what I would think of when I read "sports bar." Going back upstairs - the prepared dinner was quite tasty. The bar tenders were exceptional, and were easy to order from. The noise level from the main dining area was visually non-existent, making the conversation space upstairs better than anticipated. I'm unsure of pricing - as I mentioned this was a holiday party. My only "complaints" are that when entering from the alley, the entrance is not well marked, so it does make it a bit difficult in location, and that parking is HORRIBLE when it's busy - as it was in the middle of December on a Friday night. Definitely a great place to host a holiday party!

The place was nice,nothing spectacular...but clean The service was good and our server checked on us regularly. I was kinda disappointed at the fact that I shared that it was my mother's birthday and they didn't do anything,most nice restaurant's you go to on your birthday at least give the birthday person a small cake and wish them happy birthday. So even though the food was good....I wouldn't choose that place again for a birthday celebration as I did this time....because I walked out EXTREMELY disappointed.
