This food is so good that my family and I literally drove 40 mins to get it! The price makes the food taste even better. It was about 9 dollars per person (not including drink). It's all you can eat style is perfect for my family's different preferences and tastes. There are also many dessert options. Highly recommend, esp if there's many of you in a group!

Many of the food items had bad tastes (several different ones). The shrimp, clams and all the seafood was mostly breading and cold. The mac & cheese, corn and meatloaf was ok. Ice cream cones were stale and the "ice milk" was nasty. Even the mashed potatoes and rolls tasted nasty and they are usually good. Under staffed and always out of something. Deal breaker. Won't ever return

This place is disgusting. The food is terrible. Everything was cold crusty and appalling. Everyone left hungry after a 60 dollar dinner. We happened to go on free family steak night and we were not given the opportunity to have our free steak. When we asked them to fix it, they said come back next week. We were just passing through so next week was not an option. I asked them why we weren't given steak and was told I should have read the sign. The sign not visible from the side we arrived on. The cashier did not know to offer steaks. If you can go to any other place do it. I would give -5 stars if I could.

The buffet is the bomb! The fresh rolls are so good. Everything we had was delicious. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars, our waitress was a bit slow, friendly but, we had to ask for a refill.

Worst experience with a breakfast buffet I’ve ever had . Service was good, but I was disappointed with every item except the Diet Pepsi . The sausage patties were disgusting , my partner said it was turkey ( I love turkey sausage ) but it was just disgusting . French toast ? Gross. Chocolate chip waffles , absolute garbage . I thought okay cinnamon rolls you can’t mess that up .... yeah I was wrong. Banana bread absolutely not . And then the carrot cake looked promising but .... meh. The only upside was it was a coupon for 4.99. I think my mother-in-law staying home and brother going to Waffle House was a cruel joke , like why would they let us go to that awful place . Very disappointed.

Do not go. This place gets one star review because our waitress and manager were so nice. The "food" was beyond disgusting. Most expensive food I've ever thrown away. I had 2 steaks prepared and both were bad. The first was so bad it made me gag. The smell of rotten food. A steak is not supposed to be gray or white.. I live in Texas I come to Louisville for one or two weeks at a time every time I visit I make sure to visit ponderosa the last couple times I've been there within the last year my server destiny has been wonderful she even gives me coupons to come back and I come back the following day and use them I appreciate that cuz traveling cost a lot and any little bit of savings I can get help I prefer to sit in her section when I do come there to eat she is a wonderful addition to this company and if it wasn't for her I would probably go somewhere else

Our waitress was amazing! She made sure our plates were cleared out and our drinks were always full. The salad bar was good. I started out with a salad, carrot salad, cucumber and onion salad. The broccoli and cheese soup was really thick and I felt like it was just butter and heavy cream. The meat loaf was good, the potatoes were okay. The fries green tomatoes were soggy and the onion rings looked weird. The dinner rolls were good. My family did enjoy this restaurant. Everyone left full.

Place needs help. Customer service is horrible. The food isn't bad. I normally don't eat off the bar so I order steak. Be forgiving when you ask for it done your way. I have been there several times and only once was it cooked properly. Overall I think it is a decent place to eat. Possibly new or more hads on management. Should have management come out frequently to see if the orders are correct, or, hire a lot more enthusiastic servers.

This place is dirty. When I went up to the salad bar the first plate I got was dirty then the 2nd one too. The 3rd one appeared to be clean so I got it. Then I ate but not very much. I pretty much lost my appetite and I usually clean my plate.

Great Price and many numerous delicious options to choose from on their Buffet. Great salad bar, sides, and many different meat options, and the best vanilla soft serve ice cream I've had in a long time and also a bunch of other desserts to choose from. All around a great experience from the friendly staff, delicious food and desserts, and all for a very reasonable cheap price!!!

My previous rating of three stars has been upgraded to four. Staff is friendly and the buffet has shown a leaps-and-bounds improvement since August 2018. Food is fresh and shows some diversity (although it's still nowhere near as good as the Ponderosa in Washington, IN), it's superior to any other homestyle buffet in the Louisville Metro area.

Ponderosa brings back many fond memories of growing up. Was my favorite as a child and still is as a adult. Their steaks are very tasty and tender. If you've never tried their own steak sauce then give it a try it's very good. The buffet has many options anywhere from meats to salad to soup to dessert. Staff is always friendly and down to earth. Overall a great place to eat.

Better for breakfast on the weekends. Not bad for lunch or dinner on the weekends. Breakfast was the best I've had in a long time. Three types of potatoes, hash brown casserole, tater tots, and fried potatoes. Biscuits and gravy was awesome. Many breakfast sweets and also regular soups and salad bar in case you don't want breakfast. Service was friendly, cashier was attentive. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Medium sirloin steak was tough. Food off the bar was good though. I left stuffed! I had gone for a late lunch on a Saturday and didn't eat again until the next day. Wasn't as good as when I was a kid though but I would return, and just get the (salad) bar food.

Wife Ordered Chicken Stripes & Fries Salad. Dressing cheap & thick poor tasting. I ordered Sirloin/Shrimp & Salad with Cesar not Cesar Salad but that's what I got Long with a steak cooked twice Raw!! By a 17 year old who had not been taught to cook a steak. I've cooked steaks at a Steak house for years & you have to know the right way to cook a steak & if the steak is cut on the bias. For $22 go to Texas Roadhouse. Was given my money back for steak meal so I didn't eat.

I went on Tuesday evening August 13 at 5:30pm. I asked the employee about the Tuesday night special. She answered,I don't know. So how do you know how much to charge me? I was supposed to get a baked potato with my steak. It never came out. When I spoke with the manager all he had to say was sorry. I told him I should get something off my bill. He said the potato was included in the price. BUT I DIDN'T GET THE POTATO! I paid for something and didn't get it. He did nothing about it. And the server, by the time she brought me a refill on my drink I was finished eating. This place was not busy, packed full of people. It was half full at best. All around piss poor experience. I won't go back. I used to wonder why there's a Golden Coral every where you look. And only one Ponderosa in this general area. Now I know why........

By far one of the worst places we have eaten at in some time. Starting with the appearance. Old and dirty feeling. The food some was ok but most was not very good at all. We ordered our steaks medium and they came out RAW. Not to mention we waited 27 minutes for them. The food bar was always full however no soup bowls and no bowls for the ice cream. Desert area was very messy. The highlight of our visit was our waitress. She was attentive and cleared our table efficiently. Even if they clean the place up we won't go back because the food was just not good.

Most of the food was very good. Except the steak could have been cooked a bit more carefully (we asked for a 6oz and a 10oz, the 6oz was way thinner but they were both kept the same time which resulted in a good one and a very dry steak, a bit unexpected for a Steakhouse). However, the 3 stars is for the rushed ordering process, we were not told any options, not told what's included, ended up ordering a lot of "extra" sides, when most food came with sides as default. The staff was nice and helpful, even though we almost ended up with double the number of salads since each server seemed to want a different process (we were told that the server will bring them, then that we should make them ourselves at the salad bar, and finally another server brought them when we were at the salad bar). Overall, it was ok, we might try it again sometime.

The food was terrible. An incompetent assistant manager who was lackadaisical about one of our orders (prime rib) not being cooked to specification. He expressed no concern. Our party asked for a refund and we did not let them recook the steak as we did get a good vibe from him. The server was very slow to refill drinks.
