I first came here about 4yrs ago to celebrate with some coworkers. The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. My wife and I come here about 5 times a year for special occasions, anniversaries, or celebrations! The food is always excellent and the service is always great! It is very expensive. This is a wine and dine restaurant. Date night can easily cost $100 without any alcoholic beverages. But it’s worth it! We love coming to the Merrick Inn. Great environment! Great time!

People come here for the view. The food is ok. The steak was cold inside even after it's warmed second time. I guess this is just one time thing, so it shouldn't impact all the other dishes. It's worth a try.

This place is wonderful. We went on a Monday night for the prime rib and half off bottles of most wines. The prime rib was cooked to perfection, as it always is. The green beans and corn pudding are wonderful.The atmosphere is romantic and comfortable. The staff is FABULOUS, accommodating our request for our special table. Will return soon.

OK. This is a great restaurant. It's a sprawling set up because they have living units all over the place, but don't let that deter you. Service is great and the selections they have are delectable. You can't go wrong on whatever you choose. And the fried chicken, OMG.

My favorite FANCY restaurant in Lexington. The food is AMAZING and the service is always too notch. The location is an old, rustic building with a exquisite touch. It is hard for down to like the decor and atmosphere because it is very rich and antique, but I love it. The good is the key here though. Try. The. Bread. Pudding. It's amazing. Great wine and spirits selection and they hold large parties well. Not a whole lot of space for them, but they make it work.

We went for our anniversary and it was so good! It's on the expensive side, or was for us, but completely worth it. My husband had the fried chicken and loved it. I had the special, veal, and it was delicious. Will definitely be adding this to our special occasion dining list.

Merrick Inn is excellent for many reasons. Food is prepared & served very well. Everything is delicious; my favorite is the fish, Wall-Eyed Like. The "L" should be "P" The Southern fried chicken is wonderful. Great food & great service plus a beautiful patio. One can dress up for an elegant meal or dress down for a more casual evening. On rainy days, the valet service is welcome as well as the covered walkway from your car all the way to the front entrance.

The only seating that was available on a Friday night (without reservations) was at one of the bars. It was a bit of a tight fit, but perfectly manageable. The bartender was excellent and attentive, the food was very good, and the restaurant felt a bit upscale without feeling stuffy. Will definitely be back!

The food is TO DIE FOR! I mean absolutely amazing. The service is wonderful as well. The atmosphere is definitely one you will want to experience. Different from every other restaurant around. My only issue was I came in tonight (on a Monday) and there were apparently half priced bottles. We had 2 glasses of wine without knowing this and by the time we were done with our glasses we heard other tables around us say it (and they got wine bottle menus that we did not when you they sat down). So basically I paid the same price for two glasses as a whole bottle so that was a little disappointing. So if you go on a Monday be sure to let them know you want a wine menu if they do not give you one! Besides that, A+ overall. Amazing.

My husband and I have been enjoying this restaurant for many years. It soon became a tradition to eat here whenever we were in Lexington. I lost my husband over five years ago, yet my children and grandchildren keep up the tradition. Our food, atmosphere, and service, were still some of the best! We did our annual visit last night, and thanks to our awesome waiter ( Pierre), it was a special memory! He was a wonderful young man that we could have brought home with us as family! Thanks Pierre, you made the night another special memory! We will see you again soon!

Love Merrick Inn. The food is always delicious and the history of being one of Lexington’s horse farm manor homes adds to the restaurant’s charisma. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu. The New York Strip and crab cakes are incredible. Worth every extra penny.

We came here for my birthday on a trip, and were so impressed. We both got steaks, but the fried green tomato appetizer was also incredible. The neat little house atmosphere was fun, our server was attentive and helpful and the prices were very reasonable for the high end steaks we got. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for something upscale, charming and affordable.

Very nice atmosphere with very good food and service. Lots of steak options, great fried chicken, and sea food options. Classic old southern charm. My only personal negative is too many big screens with sports in all the bars which can be seen from everywhere in the restuant. I know this is probably a plus for some folks but it would nice if one part of this large establishment had a area without big screen TVs. Without the TVs it would be a five star for me.

Merrick Inn is a Lexington tradition. Tasty southern fare suitable for a celebration or just a night out. Fried chicken, sole my way, green beans. salad with champagne or cucumber dressing... the list goes on and on. Reservations are suggested. Valet parking spares you the aggravation of trying to find a place to park. This is a higher end establishment with a great ambiance. Great place for a romantic dinner with pretty good food.

Friends recommended that we go to this restaurant while in Lexington. It did not disappoint! The place has all the charm you could ask for and then some! The old inn had real character and the grave of Merrick was right out front! I had been told to try the Hot Brown. Oh my!! Delicious! I couldn't even eat half it was so generous! I was sorry I didn't have a place to take my leftovers! The Merrick Inn in Lexington is a great place to spend an evening. The ambiance is fantastic, both indoors and the patio. The food selection and quality is excellent.

This is my favorite spot in Lexington to eat if you are looking for something a little nicer. The patio is reasonably priced and super cute, and they have some amazing salads. Very nice filet mignon. I would recommend the lobster and crab nachos as an appetizer. Our server, Karlee was very nice and recommended very good dishes. We went here with 11 people so we sat on the second level in a private room. The decor was very comfortable and the atmosphere was great. I had the baked potato and green beans as my side and they were all very good. I was full when we ordered dessert so I had to give the rest of my pound cake with strawberries to my dad. This was a very nice place and I would recommend it for groups.

This is one of the area restaurants that should be on your "must do" list if you are spending any time in Lexington. Decor and atmosphere inside is very pleasing and comfortable. Service is extraordinarily attentive, friendly and entertaining as we had a waiter that was very personable. We had the Rock Shrimp & Artichoke starter, (wonderful), I had the Colorado Lamb Chops, my wife had one of the seafood specials, both were delicious. Highly recommended, we will return soon as we are spending more time in Lexington these days.

When we accidentally ordered something my husband was allergic to they brought us a different appetizer for free. The best part was when we ordered dessert they brought it with candles since we were celebrating his birthday.

I usually visit Merrick Inn when I go to functions with my colleagues. On this past visit, I had the opportunity to attend a retirement party. Our party was located on the patio. It was windy and a bit cool. The servers lit the fireplace and heaters. Then it began to rain and we exchanged our seats for more interior patio tables. Even with all the weather elements, the experience was still jovial.

Original Zomato Review 1/12/16 - Another company function brings me to Merrick Inn...I had heard really good things about the Inn and hoped to feel the same. We ordered an appetizer (Lobster and Crab Nachos) - they came out warm and were quite good. For my meal, I ordered the Fried Chicken (two breasts) with the sauteed Vegetable Medley and House Salad. The breasts were enormous - literally the largest I'd ever seen as fried chicken. I was concerned the outer flesh would be dry or raw near the bone, but it was perfectly fried and the breading was very good. The Vegetable Medley was served in a very small plastic bowl (similar to a dessert bowl one would find at Ryan's for ice cream) and there may have been 2-3 fork bites in the bowl. The fried chicken was good (with large portions) but would like to see them do a bit more on the sides. The House Salad was good and the Thousand Island dressing (homemade) was excellent. I rated as I did because I'd like to see a bit more value from Merrick in the sides

Love the location of this place and the food is always good. They need to reevaluate their prices. $13 for a caprese salad appetizer with 4 slices of tomatoes is highway robery. Two drinks and a small snack cost me nearly $40 after tip.

First time a glass of wine and second time a container of catchup- they apologized but no one offered anything as compensation- discount on meal or free desert. Pretty bad as I’ve ended two out of three evenings soaking my clothes hoping the stains will come out.

Merrick Inn is a great place to go on Valentine's day. You need reservations in advance but the food is always superb and their whiskey list is extensive. Probably the best in the area. They have cozy areas with small fireplaces and other areas with TVs. A romantic date night spot.
