This Restaurant corresponds to the category of American restaurant.
Loved this place. Food was so delicious. The ambiance was amazing, staff was very friendly. I think we had a new waitress, but she was still really sweet! I really thought I already did a review and posted pictures. Maybe I accidently did it on a different account. Anyway, loved the place, would definitely go again!
I've been here 3 times...every time the service has been pretty bad. Today we waited for a coffee refill for 5 mins , finally asked hostess. Food is good, except grits. Their grits tasted like instant grits and were not good. I'd give them a higher rating if their service was better.
Great place to eat! Love the atmosphere plus friendly people too.
Staff was friendly, food was amazing, and down home decor was great.
Best fried chicken I’ve ever had, server was lovely and friendly
The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Our party of 8 all got different meals and we all shared; no one was disappointed. The hot brown was the best of 4 different ones we tried in 3 days. Large portions, very friendly staff and be sure to leave room for dessert... try the butterscotch pie, you will not be sorry!!
The service was what you would expect good, atmosphere was good. Extremely generic food I had a Reuben and I was not really happy with it. I tasted my wife's food and it was nothing to write home about either.
Lots of food. We split a meal and had plenty. Pork chops were a bit dry. Staff was wonderful.
Delicious food and very friendly staff. Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes!
This restaurant is in the middle of historic Bardstown, KY. For lunch I ordered the KY BLT. It was awesome good. Toasted whet bread, bacon, fried green tomatoes, lettuce, and melted pimento cheese. The fries were perfect. We had great service. For those who don't know this weekend is the KY Bourbon festival in Bardstown.
Their chicken salad was delicious and their lemon meringue pie was the best I have ever had! Will definitely return!
Awesome food, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Try their fried chicken on corn bread
Very sloppy food. Quality and taste were sub par. The kitchen was very slow. The wait staff was very awkward and made some mistakes. I want planning on tipping much to show this but our party had 20% tacked on already. I do not plan on returning.
Let me start by saying the food is fantastic, But the service is lacking ordered pinto beans and fried green tomatoes and 2 slices of pie Togo took nearly 45 minutes for this.. It wasn’t busy it was me and 2 other people.. the bartender barley said 3 words to me. Didn’t even offer me a drink. 35 minutes went past and asked her how much longer it would be she went to check and she said they keep messing the cornbread up I can take my food without it if I would like. I said no I paid for the cornbread that’s what I want finally my food was finished. By the time I got home my pie was melted and our tomatoes were soggy.
Good food and service. We sat on the patio and had a very pleasant time. My one complaint: there was a group of half a dozen staff, I guess from the kitchen, who were on the other side of the patio smoking and having loud vulgar conversation. My first 20 or so minutes at the restaurant were made less pleasant by that but they eventually went in and everything else was great
Food was good but the service and delivery of the food was slow , bartender was nice just not fast
Great food. Great service. Recommend highly.
Great as usual. The bloody marys are a bit simpler than they used too be. They used to load them with all kinds of stuff. But still very good. I'll be back soon.
Wow! Large portions at small prices. All the southern comfort food you would ever want. Huge bourbon list. Ashley, our server was fast and friendly! And thanks for the bourbon suggestion. It was amazing!
Amazing food. Amazing service. 5 star place!
Food is slightly slow to come out, but oh my gosh is it worth the wait!
Good food to start your Bourbon tour.
Perfect spot for lunch. Excellent burgers!
The food was pretty good. Home cookin like momma used to make.
Cute place, nice staff!
Good food, friendly waitress, nice prices.
This is the #1 restaurant on the reviews I saw for Bardstown. We had been in years past, it was okay, so we were hungry and decided to try it again. The burger my husband ordered was of poor quality and over cooked. My grilled chicken salad had the driest pieces of chicken I recall ever having been served (even in a fast food chain). It was not hot and definitely not freshly prepared. The service was poor-no silverware, the burger didn’t come out with the side that was ordered, and it seemed useless to complain. Even when the server noted we lacked silverware, it took two extra trips and our food being served for her to bring it.
Great place, food was hot and very good. Definitely a return visit next time we are in tow
Great food and atmosphere is fun!!
We drove frm Louisville to Bardstown for bkfst this am & oh so worth it! Had been prev.for lunch- loved the atmosphere, service, & food! Went back today w our family for bkfst. to celebrate our anniversary. OMG! Shared a Cinnabon? style pancake- the size of a dinner plate! (along w our homestyle breakfasts). I highly rec.this place. Can't wait to go again & try something else!
This place was inexpensive and delicious and we had wonderful service with Francy. We tried stuffed french toast, omelets, biscuits and gravy and lots of sides. Everything was wonderful and we would absolutely go back.
Great breakfast place with huge portions and reasonable prices (The pancakes were massive). If you’re looking to eat a lite meal, or on a diet this may not be the best place to stop. Nice outdoor patio with views of downtown Bardstown. Friendly staff.
Bourbon Burger was delicious, as was the coconut pie...I'll be back!
nice music. good food. great service. busy
Unbelievable! Beautiful outdoor dining area. Food was delicious. Staff was very kind considering they were swamped on a Saturday morning.
AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS SOUTHERN FOOD! Went Friday when we got into town and the local from our Inn recommended it. The food and service were so good we went back for lunch on Saturday. I recommend everything we tried: * Fried green tomatoes with housemade pimento cheese on top.. ohh my lord it was so good! *Ribeye sandwich *Baby brown (smaller edition of Hot Brown) *Southern greens soup with Corn bread *hit sides: Loaded tots, onion straws, mashed potatoes and the kids cheese burger was a hit too!
Sells Bourbon barrel ale on draft - don’t miss it . Good solid food at down to earth prices. Pleasant outside space which we enjoyed.
Local down home restaurant with great food and wonderful service!
Wow this food was out of this world. Made with TLC and very unique dishes. The KY BLT and the KY Hot Brown were new favorites. Too good!
Went there for a late breakfast/ early lunch and ordered appetizers only. After 45 mins of waiting for our food we had to leave due to a follow on appointment. Cute place and very polite service, just the wrong day to go
The atmosphere was great. The waitresses very friendly. The food was slow coming out of the kitchen because it was busy. Parking is in the back. Don't park in the front. There are tow signs in front. The portions were average to large. Great for a leisurely meal. Don't go for a quick bite. Overall, we both really liked it and the food was good.
We tried calling ahead, as others suggested, but was told they don't take call aheads. So we had to wait awhile for a table at 5:00 on Sat night, while others walked in and told hostess that they called ahead, and were seated before us. Food was excellent and plentiful. Loved the Baby Hot Brown, which was a large serving. Be sure to save room for pie! The chocolate is dark and rich, and the coconut cream will not disappoint! 5 Stars on food! 4 on service (they were really busy). I WILL return AND try calling ahead again!
I took my wife to breakfast here and they messed up my order when I ordered the breakfast hangover Skillet. I ordered it without onion. When it came I noticed it had onion. A lot of onion. I felt bad I'm not really usually one to complain. But the waiter was really cool about it and had it remade. And then didn't charge me. I felt really bad about it because I just I'm not really want to complain. But these guys are so cool in there. If you want some good food it's good food. But if you're wanting to leave the full stomach it's about the same as anywhere else really. But they got a lot of cool stuff on their menu to go check it out.
Nice. Food was great Need some help on the service but not bad.
Delicious food and great service!
Homemade pimiento cheese!!! So good, wish they sold it by the pint
I ordered the deluxe burger and some Fry's with cold slaw, I'm sure there must have been some better food on the menu, but I wasn't to hungry at the time,. Some of the other dishes coming out to other costumer's looked really good.. I would have to try it again, the price was really reasonable.
Food was so good! We had a party of 4 for lunch and were seated right away. Big position sizes. Our food came out very quick and the service was great! Charming country style atmosphere. Ladies,go to the bathroom, life size Marilyn Monroe in there!
A Bardstown gem! The food was delicious and the service was impeccable!
The chicken salad sandwich is to die for! Also, do not leave Mammy’s without grabbing a piece of pie. This is my favorite place to go in Bardstown, KY.
This place was not only beautiful, but has GREAT food :)
Delicious food, friendly staff, nice bourbon selection!
Great food and service. Best hot brown around.
Great service, great food. Local breakfast sausage, homemade pies. Inexpensive.
Our trip to Bardstown would not be complete without eating at Mammy's. The food is outstanding, the staff is so accommodating and the atmosphere is friendly. Make sure you save room for dessert!
Food was mediocre. Service was slow but friendly. Nice atmosphere.
Atmosphere is great. Can't wait to go back to try the oversized pancake. Anna says it's worth it.
Absolutely the best food. Worth the drive.
A couple of people recommended this restaurant when we asked, so we went there. I would easily drive almost an hour once a month to eat here, but I live 2.5 hours away sadly. So delish! All of us loved our food. One of the best meals I've ever had.
Relaxed and family-friendly. Comfort food served in a barn. Unfortunately, they were sold out of lemon meringue pie, but the coconut one was good.
Great atmosphere and fantastic food. I had the bourbon grilled chicken and it was the best meal I've had in a long time
Awesome food and atmosphere. The fried green tomatoes with their homemade pimento cheese dip is to die for. Bourbon chicken sandwich is amazing.
Great food and service. The bourbon chicken is delicious and the chicken n waffles are too.
Super cute place! We say outside and it was lovely. The way they've decorated this place is very classy and inviting. The waitress was attentive and polite. They have an amazing dish called the Baby Brown for those who love the classic Hot Brown but are looking for a smaller portion. Prices were more than fair. Really excited to go back.
They charge for Pepsi and Heinz catchup, but use substitutes!!! DISHONESTY!!! Their steaks and hamburgers are cheap as in poor quality as well. If only they could be honest?
Good food, they give you your money's worth. slow service but never a bad experience
Had their Kentucky hot brown, meats just ok, but the cheese sauce was salty beyond belief. If I hadn't waited so long for food. I would have sent it back.
I enjoyed this historic restaurant a lot! I had a stuffed tomato with chicken salad and a chicken sandwich. I had a very tasty and refreshing beverage, as well. The service was fun and the outdoor seating was nice.
Cute country feel with awesome food
Mammy's son began waiting on us. When he asked where we were from and we said Alabama, he said "You're not Alabama fans, are you?" We said yes. We then found out later that he transferred us to a different wait staff. We waited a half hour for our sandwiches. People that came after us got their food long before us. They then locked the front door near where we were parked and we had to go all the way to the back of the restaurant and walk around the whole building to get to our car.
Great home cooking! Appetizer sampler platter big enough for four people.
Great food friendly people. I will definitely return .
Love the food and atmosphere. Great service all around.
Wonderful food, very friendly service, great atmosphere
Hot brown was really good! Rich and tasty. I would have to say that pies are good .. Just a gelatin like texture. More of an aquired taste.
Great food and atmosphere...
Food and service was both great. Eat so much, had to take dessert home for later.
what a fantastic place ...great service and food...charming atmosphere
Excellent food and good portions at a fair value. Good Coconut Creme pie as well.
The brunch here is incredible. I love the breakfast hot brown. Service is usually pretty great. Nicely decorated and clean restaurant. Expect to wait a bit because the restaurant is very popular.
Great food! Seasoned well. Desserts were delicious. Many and her son made us feel welcome. I will go back again real soon.
Friendly atmosphere. Great food!!
Southern cooking VG Green beens price per 2 oz
Good food and very friendly people. Look forward to my next visit.
Good southern comfort food. Food came out slow but the server was great. Not sure why they offer organic chicken when nothing else appears to be organic. The chicken was chewy but tasty and the fries were very good.
Best chicken salad sandwich ive ever had
Excellent food, many choices. I odered the grilled bourbon chicken sandwich with tater tots, excellent! Very nice country decor, loved the life size cows. Nice bar area with several TVs for sports. Nice stage that was decorated nicely. Repeat worthy
Fun lil place. Good beer selection
Great food and loved the fact it was warm enough to sit on the patio that day. My only regret was I didn't have time for coconut pie. Rita Greenwell
Excellent server. Hot Brown burger was just ok. I had high expectations of a burger combined with a hot brown and nope.
We expected a nice breakfast, instead we received AWESOME in the form of pancakes, potatoes, biscuits and gravy; really, everything we ordered. The portions would have fed a football team. All of us took leftovers home. Great surprise!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL place!!!! Great, very attentive staff!! ALL staff always checking, even if they were not our server! Anything asked for was delivered instantly!! Fabulous food!! Brought out quickly and super hot!! Atmosphere and quaint Kentucky decor!! Definite must when anywhere near (50 mile radius even!) Bardstown!!
Food and service were amazing. Will be returning soon
Very friendly people and service. Food was average at best. Ordered the ribeye cooked medium and came well done, hardly any seasoning at all. Homemade pie for dessert was great
The bourbon burger was fantastic! This place offers three distinct experiences in one: 1. Family restaurant in the back with an entrance, 2. A bar with music with an entrance and 3. A courtyard that’s perfect for lazy evening dinner. This time we chose the courtyard. It’s super chill; we had our dog with us after visiting a local park and stopped in. They graciously allowed our Yorkie to lay under the table. It was just a perfect dinner. The bourbon burger is out of this world with this delicious bourbon bbq sauce, onion straws, cheeseburger with all the fixins. Amazing fries that were battered. It was chill and it felt like u were at someone’s house. The best part is the chocolate pie. It was homemade and it was slow cooked. You could taste it and it tasted like your mammy made it. I just loved it. Sometimes in life you have to just get the pie. Even if u have only 2 bites or maybe take extra steps or gym workouts for the week to do it- be sure to try the pie.
Good food, nice atmosphere. I would definitely go again.
If you are visiting and ask anyone around town where you should go, I guarantee they will tell you Mammy's. 9/10 people will say that as their first answer and that's saying something. It's in the heart of downtown and has a nice rustic feel to it. It's a huge upgrade from it's previous and more quaint location. It's highly recommended to try them, but the wait might be a bit long at times because of the aforementioned high number of recommendations to go here. The food is great, the pie is especially great and it has a very nice bar area with frequent live music. If you are wanting to go here, but don't care to wait a very long time when you show up, I recommend checking out Pat's Place as they have similar food and good pie as well. If you get breakfast here get that cinnabon pancake or the breakfast hot brown.
Delicious burgers a freezing beer. Awesome history around the bar. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a good place to eat and drink.
Great breakfast! Some of the best biscuits and gravy I have had! Good portions and tasty food.
They got pie ALMOST as good as my MaMMy
The bourbon chicken was good the onion rings were even better and the pie, the lemon pie was awesome. Order it early because they tend to run out. Our waitress, I believe her name was Raelynn, was very good at handling a crowd of 18 in one room.
Great food. Excellent service
We had the daily special hot beef sandwich and a Baby Brown which is turkey/ham/ cheese open face sandwich with a nice sauce. Our server was very nice & polite. The food was all tasty home cooking. The beef was tender pot roast and the Baby Brown was tasty & filling. Great lunch stop!
Name is very deceiving. Nothing is homemade. Box gravy, frozen chicken fried steak, frozen appetizer, canned veggies. Service was terrible. It took 25 minutes after we finished to get our check. We were told that they were out of pie, as we watched several other tables being brought pie. Not a good experience, but rather another tourist trap. Don't waste your time or money.
awesome dining experience on a rainy February morning. friendly staff and cozy feel. oh and the eggs Benedict was bangin! the Irish coffee was good and reg coffee was good too. believe this we needed a nap after breakfast!
We order chicken wings half order 6 wings got 5 flavor was good Bourbon.. Yet they were cold at the bone... That's not good . Atmosphere awesome
We were there today. Seated and then informed 45 minutes to an hour waiting on food due to party of 50 they had there. We left, don't care how good their food is, we won't be back. Parking is limited too.
Loved the food and the workers were great and friendly
Food was very good and prices were reasonable.
Great atmosphere. Delicious food. The chicken salad stuffed tomato and cabbage soup were the bomb! Parking is behind the restaurant.
Good was very delicious. It must be the go to spot because we got there for lunch at 12:30 and the place was packed. They said it would be a 20 min wait but was seated within 5 mins. Great place.
OMG. we stopped for a little bite and the food was awesome. The Kentucky BLT was smothered in a pinto cheese sauce that was out of this world. My wife had the chicken salad. I tried speaking to her but she just gave me a dirty look as she was devouring it so I assumed it was great. Great job.
Great place to eat in Bardstown! We enjoy eating there when we visit. Great service & excellent food!
OMG the hotbown is 5star good service as well ty Mammy's
Good food but Horrible Service...2hrs and we only got our food when we asked for the check for our drinks. Waitress got mouthy and then the manager also got mouthy. Both said it just takes longer when they have the patio open. If you know that... plan for it!!!!
Fabulous food and atmosphere. I had the baby brown and it was fantastic! Tom had the chicken tenders and really enjoyed them as well!
Great place. Awesome selection at the bar.
We tried to eat here. A 30 minute wait to be seated, which was fine with us, but 10 minutes into our wait, an employee told everyone waiting “there’s a 40 minute wait for your food, and that’s AFTER you get seated”. “So there’ll be a long wait”. That’s exactly what the guy said! We got up to leave, as well as others.
Love Mammy's!!! They have the best butterscotch pie! Also their fried green tomato sandwich is to die for! It doesn't hurt that this sweet restaurant is in the best part of bardstown, and surrounded by historic places like Stephen Foster's old Kentucky home. I go every spring and look forward to it.
Excellent food more than we could eat.
Amazing down home cooking! Generous portions of some of the best comfort food you will find and that is just on the restaurant side. On the weekend there is live music in the seperate bar are, which has possibly the best selection of bourbon in the state. Outside dining is available on the patio. Servers were friendly, fast and very accommodating. All the awards are well deserved and I can't wait to go back and try some of the desserts I didn't have room for last time.
Going back. We went there for dessert and it was awesome the coconut cream pie. Stephen was an excellent server and the owners son. The atmosphere was awesome and the fellowship with the service was excellent.
The waitress was very helpful and friendly. Food was great, however we waited an hour or more for our food after ordering. If you order the broccoli expect a lot of salt! Overall a great place just expect to wait for your food.
Enjoying a Kentucky Staycation this year. My husband & I visited The Giant exhibit at Bernheim Forest and planned our day for lunch at Mammy’s before closing time of 3:00 on Monday’s. This was our first visit. Parking was in the downtown lot behind the building and that is where the main entrance is too. My husband noticed the special was open faced roast beef with gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans. The waitress, Brittany, even suggested the special too. He ordered the “special” and I ordered the burger with bourbon sauce, Swiss cheese and onion strings. We both cleaned our plates. Plus a piece of coconut cream pie for dessert. We both enjoyed our meal and plan to visit again.
Ohhhh my goodness, it was everything I had heard it to be and then some. Sunday afternoon it was hopping in there but the service was super fun and friendly and the food...well, it was absolutely worth the wait. If you're ever in the area, then do yourself a favor and make time to go to Mammy's. You'll be glad you did.
Good food & reasonably priced , with a good wait staff . Nice place to listen to live music.
You gotta try this place...wonderful
Was told to come here and its awesome
Good breakfast place. Had a dish that had turkey it was amazing.
The food is amazing their bourbon bon pancake was amazing!
I go there often and always a great food and service
Mammys always one of the best spot in Bartstown.
In town for a week. First visit food and service was very good, healthy portions served. Second day, oh my... small portions. Third day... figuting maybe first cook was back. Nope... six ounce pork chops not six ounces and fried so hard almost bent knife and fork. Cook still not back. Pies were very good. Thats all folks.
Delicious food. Service wasn't great but the atmosphere was really cool
Great, upscale home cooking. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great!
Always delicious! Love this place
Good food and friendly service. Some great items on the menu. Great outdoor seating.
We expected to find great food, based on ratings. The place is dark and musty. Not a lot of ambience. The fried tomatoes and onion rings had no taste and the green beans were no better. Very crowded. We waited for food for a long time.
Enjoyed the service willreturn
Very cool. Food was reasonable priced and excellent!!
Kind of a long wait for your food (an hour today) but the meal was very good and affordable priced
I'm sure this place is great normally but on the particular day we were in town to try it out, we didn't have great luck. The seating time was pretty quick. However, the food wait time was a full hour. I had the pimento burger which was good but I'd try something different next time. We will try again chaulking this experience up to an "off" day for staff or something.
Great food and service! Love the atmosphere!!
Food was pretty good but the service was slow. Not sure if they were short staffed, but they weren't busy and still took a long time for only 2 people ordering. May try again if we get back down there.
I sat at the bar on a busy Thursday afternoon during the kick off to the Bardstown Bourbon Festival. Tyler was super accommodating as I rushed to finish an important presentation for one of the hosted events for the week. He kept my water full, let me charge my laptop behind the bar, and was sincerely friendly. Always a stop when I'm in town. Thanks!
We had a group. We didn't get to eat there. They announced a 90 minute wait for seating with an additional hour before you got your meal. That's ridiculous. We left and went to Stephen Fosters buffet and were seated immediately.
Always great service and food. First time getting the BBQ nachos, and the coleslaw on top tied the dish together. Chicken fried chicken is a guilty pleasure. Friend had the ribeye sandwich and said it was fantastic.
I really enjoyed my meal here at Mammy's. We got the recommendation from our tour guide at the Willet Distillery (would also highly recommend that). Our waitress was helpful, and the menu was well constructed as was the food. I got the Kentucky hot brown as I've never had one before. I thought the food was reasonably priced as well. An extensive drink list just added to the quality of the joint. It didn't feel very touristy which is always a plus. On a side note, the restrooms are very nice and clean. Would love to come back if I'm ever in Bardstown again.
Good food, nice wait staff. But owners son announced he did not need to wear uniform because he is owners son. Too bad. We all know who wait staff is by their nice Polo shirts with Mammy's on the front he just looks like he doesn't belong in his 50 year old t shirt.
Great food, fair price and very friendly staff.
Good food friendly staff.
This place is pretty solid all day long. Great breakfast in the morning, great lunch and dinner in the afternoon, good entertainment at night. Probably one of the better places to eat or socialize in bardstown.
Delicious breakfast... The biscuits & gravy were heavenly! I should have got some pie before I left.
Was not very excited about the place. Could not wait to eat there, now I won't be back. Loud, very loud! Meatloaf was smothered in ketchup or something. Could not taste the meat. Could not see the meat. Same on Pork chops. Good breading but they were ridiculous thin. For 14.99, not worth it at all.
Across the street from Old Talbots Inn is one of the best breakfast locations I have found in a long time. On our 10 day excursion around the Bourbon trail we ate at many great restaurants and eateries but it was only Mammy's that we ate at twice. We ate there to begin our trip and end our vacation. The breakfast are fantastic and huge. Four egg omelets to platter sized pancakes at very reasonable prices. A must stop if you are in or around Bardstown Ky.
We stayed in Bardstown two nights at Talbott Inn, across the street from Mammy’s. We ate at Mammy’s twice and Saturday night we went to have e a few drinks at the bar. They place had a good band playing a lot of southern Rock that we really enjoyed. I’ve had a few nice bourbons and my wife had a few of Mammy’s Kitchen Sink mixed drinks. They were excellent. One of the bartenders was (from what she told us) the daughter of Mammy. Her service was exceptional and at times it seemed like she was making everyone’s drinks. She was so busy cause of the crowd. Besides being so busy she kept coming and talk to me and my wife, and after we decided to leave, she gave us some key chains for souvenirs. One thing I forgot to mention was the food. It was excellent, and also the bourbon selection was great . I pretty much was in bourbon heaven at Mammy’s. I hope to visit Bardstown again soon, cause I really liked my time there.
Loved the decor in the restaurant and the vibe is good! Food was so good with some unique choices. The cinnamon bun pancakes look so good and big enough to share! Took a little while to get our food, but it was busy.
We had some of the best service we have ever had! Erin, our bartender/server was excellent ,friendly and so welcoming to us out of towners! We had lunch there and were so impressed with service and tasty food, we went back for dinner and stayed for the live music.
