Great food I will say first. The problem I had is I made a trip to place an order on 2 occasions and were "out of" chicken. My wife will only eat chicken. Two wasted trips. Tried to call on second visit and got voice mail to order online. I will not return. Very poor service.

The young lady at the counter was very helpful...we hadn't been there and she gave us a quick rundown of the menu. The place is clean, and the food is excellent! We tried the pulled pork and brisket with mac & cheese, slaw and hushmuffins. Both meats were juicy and the sides were delicious! We'll be heading back for more!

We live out of town, but every time we are in Lexington we make sure we come to Lyle's for at least one meal. The food is incredible, the owners are very welcoming. We also have gluten allergies, and this is one of the safest restaurants in town.

All the hype and the brisket was hard and chewy. The sides are extremely small portioned. I was very disappointed when they gave me my side dishes in Dixie cup like containers. Over priced for this FAKE BBQ.

I had no idea where this restaurant was located and didnt care because its bbq; never been a huge fan. Scrolled on some webpage and their site popped up, with a free sandwich pop-up. Of course, i enter my email n recieved the coupon. I'm so glad i took the time to try it out because its the best damn bbq ive had in years! Its tender n flavorful, with amazing home made sauces you can choose from. I felt like a little kid, giddy because i had just found my new spot to smash some amazing bbq!!!! Yay!!! There sides, may be few but they are perfectly done! The slaw is amazing and im in love with the hush puppies. I cant wait to go back and try the home made mac n cheese and the bake beans, yummmmm! Also, the atmosphere is so inviting and homey! The owner, beautiful little woman treats you like a loved family member and the crew she keeps...well yall are amazing! Thank you for allowing me to enjoy some wonderful food with humbly smiling faces and great attitudes! They aim to please and well you went beyond! Love love love this place!!!!

This is my second time stopping by, and I have been impressed both times. My grandparents are both licensed BBQ judges with the Kansas City BBQ Society, so I've had my fair share of good BBQ. Everything I've had so far has been done very well. I'm a sucker for brisket, and their's is excellent. The burnt ends are great too. Id say what really makes them stand out to me are their sides and sauces though. Many restaurants tend to think of sides as an afterthought, but that's not the case here. The mac and cheese is good, and the cowboy beans are the best of all. I really enjoy having a wide variety of sauces to choose from as well. Definitely worth a visit. Service has been fast and friendly both times as well.

Great, amazing food, but i can't say the same about the front of the house service. It was my mother's & I first time here and we did not feel welcomed at all. The lady at the register who took our order (receipt said Chandler) was very rude and not helpful at all. Playing with her tongue ring the whole time while taking our order was disturbing & just gross. None of the girls ever cracked a smile, no southern hospitality at all coming from them. The men on the other hand were very sweet and delightful! An older gentleman came to our table to make sure everything was good, very friendly on his part! The food was good but just because of the impolite service from the girls, we will not be returning.

Good pulled pork, burnt ends and brisket. I also dig the green beans (garlic) and baked beans. The sandwich buns are very soft and don't get in the way of the meat. Sauces are on the vinegar side.

Delicious barbecue. Ribs are among the best we've ever had. We ordered online to pick up on our way through Lexington on a road trip. We were concerned about service at first since we heard a woman from the kitchen grumble that we arrived before our scheduled pick up time. We did not expect the food to be ready, but since we had arrived we figured we'd check. They were also out of burnt ends we ordered online, but they substituted the ribs for us, which were fantastic. Didn't try a sauce that wasn't great. Glad we chose Lyle's over pizza.

I always get the brisket here and it's never a disappointment or dry. This place takes a little time to get the meal together but it's always worth the wait for the amazing good. The pickles are home made and very tasty, the apple slaw is better than I expected and goes well with the pulled pork. All of the sides I gave tried are really good but I especially love the hashbrown casserole.

The brisket is good, pulled pork was on the dry side. The girls at the counter were not helpful, they failed to tell me that they were out of bread and sides. They subsituted with 3 pickle slices. Ask alot of questions!!

Our first visit was phenomenal, went back a second time to bring the rest of the family and they were out of ribs; we were told to always be there before 8pm. Went back two weeks later to eat ribs (7:00pm) with the family and this time we were told they don't do ribs every day anymore. So disappointed that the mayor dish the restaurant suppose to be all about it, is not longer offer on a daily/normal bases!!! I can get a pulled pork sandwich from Kroger; keep the quality of your restaurant or it might not last that long...

Best BBQ in town and the kids clear their plates each time which is unusual since they are such picky eaters. The entire staff is super friendly and the portions are generous. Stop in and see momma Lyle and sample her banana pudding while you are there.

What happened? Since Nash has opened Lyles has gone so far downhill that we've had to find a new place to eat every week. Customer Service is TERRIBLE, they consistently don't receive online orders so even though you get a confirmation and a time to pick up you get there and are told "Oh, well you either picked it up already or it didn't come through". We never received an apology the last time when they realized it was their error and the cook was rude about the whole ordeal. There was also flies everywhere and landing all over the sauces which is so nasty to eat around. Food was mediocre at best the last 3 times. We kept trying to give them more chances but I refuse to waste more money. We like to support local but there's 2 bbq joints within 5 miles of here so unfortunately we've had to move our business elsewhere.

This is THE BEST barbecue Ive ever had! Each and every one of the sauces are so delicious that I can never choose just one, or even 2. Additionally, the sides are THE BEST! And if that's not enough, their customer service is impeccable! Have yet to encounter a single employee who has ever been anything less than remarkably gracious, polite and knowledgeable! Even when we walked in 3 mins b4 closing (we thought they closed an hour later than they do. I should have looked online or called 1st). & I've worked in enough restaurants that I know when an employee is disgusted with you but TRIES to act like it's no problem. Customer Service is so bad nationwide that most dont even try to hide their contempt. Seriously, I can't think of one thing they could do that would improve on what I consider to be the best restaurant I've been to in a long time.

Are you thinking about trying this place? Just don't do it - you will thank me. We tried Lyles BBQ for the first time today - it was a bad decision. The ribs were tasteless and did not appear as though they had actually been smoked. The dry rub they used on the ribs is still easily visible. These ribs look like they were never put in a smoker or on a grill. My guess - they were boiled and then tossed in a broiler for 10 minutes. Just save yourself the time and go elsewhere.

We were overjoyed when Lyle’s opened on Clays Mill. We had visited their old Nicholasville location a couple of times and really loved their food. We were even more happy to find out that the food is even better than before. The obvious attention to details, the effort to make everything top-notch and the desire to make each and every customer feel like family shows through in their food. My wife has gluten issues and she has been amazed at all the gluten free offerings at Lyle’s. With the addition of breakfast service, I find it hard to not eat here everyday. The food is that good. If you are looking for good BBQ or Breakfast, friendly service and a family atmosphere, then you don’t need to look any further. Five stars, because they won’t let me give ten stars.

I was gonna give this a average review. Being from SC the birthplace of BBQ btw that's a fact!!! I've been in f&b for 23 years and have opened and fixed dozens of restaurants. And I found that food was decent. Customer service on other hand......you lost 2 stars for your responses to customers on here...it's absolutely insane you would boooooo a customer. All of the negative reviews you are combative and lack maturity!!!!! I would never!!!! Last restaurant I helped open we did 8,000 people a day and made 18M our second year. Believe me you wouldn't make it anywhere other than where you are!! That's a fact jack!! Obviously why you called a TV show for help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And aren't making any money. Now your alienating customers. Even ones like me who thought food was decent and would of returned. But after seeing how you treat people will never come back and my extended family that live in that area will never go back again. Grow up be professional and like my grandma said if you have nothing nice to say don't say nothing. Or you have people like me stomp on you I've never seen a business boooooo someone on here. That's crazy.

Be sure to wash it down with a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel and relax in their very snug interior. Located alongside several varying eateries, Lyles is a special treat in an oasis of special treats. Best BBQ in around HANDS DOWN. No one else even comes close. Flavors are out of this world. The smoked mac and cheese and slaw (with Granny Smith apples) are my favorite sides...such unique flavors. Not just the same boring sides as everywhere else. Meats are ALWAYS so juicy and flavorful. Desserts are heavenly. And they have fountain Ale-8! The Lyles family is the nicest family around, and they obviously care about what they do. If you haven’t been to Lyles, you’re missing out!!!

Really enjoy the food!! The family that runs the place is super outgoing and very friendly. My girls request the Nachos every time we go there. My wife and I enjoy the smoked chicken. Everything is great here and their sauces just put the meat taste over the top!!

My boyfriend worked here for 4-5 months. About three weeks ago they asked him to pick up food from their Clays Mill location and take it to their mall location. A worker packed the food into his back seat and when he got to the mall he saw there was a utility sized BBQ sauce container spilled all over his back seat. He wasn’t allowed to leave work to have the car cleaned so I had to come and take the car to Dents Dings and Repair for a professional cleaning. The car had to be cleaned an additional time where the back seat had to be unbolted and taken out. The cleaning cost $425 and they REFUSE to pay. The worst thing is that the car still smells like BBQ sauce. My friends and family will no longer support this business.

I forget the style of BBQ. But I like it, and my wife likes it. I like the briscuit?, and pork, and my wife likes the chicken. The sides are good. It was a smallish, cozy, place. The service is friendly and accurate. The price was competitive. We have ate there several times. We will be going back. The menu is not large. So they can concentrate on, and do well what they offer.

We had the pulled pork with sides. Not bad, just not the greatest. The pulled pork lacked flavor and the bourbon sauce helped but it still would be better with more flavor. The Cole slaw was good, the fries were a little over seasoned, the hush puppies were tasty, and our son would not eat the Mac n cheese....he didn't like the pepper in them. Not bad, just not great. Maybe we just hit a slow night....we will try again to see if is better.

They always sell out of something when I'm there, but they offer discounts or give a coupon for a free side for the inconvenience. The owner has a good online presence and shows amateur backyard pitmasters how to make BBQ.

Stopped in for a brisket sandwich and a beer. I ordered the granny smith slaw and green beans for sides. The lady that took my order was very nice, easily took a coupon I had on my phone for my birthday(thanks). Took a few extra minutes to come out, and it was worth the wait. The slaw was sweet and tart, not too runny or too dry. Green beans were a little peppery but still cooked well with great flavor. The brisket was juicy and smokey. The bun was super soft, added a little bit of their bourbon bbq sauce and it was one of the best brisket sandwiches I've had in a long time. For less than $15(without coupon) I had a great sandwich two sides and a Kentucky ale.

This place is fairly close to where I live, but I would be willing to drive across town for this if I had to. I've tried the pulled pork and the brisket and both had perfectly balanced smoke flavor with excellent texture (not too dry, and not "mushy" either). The original, sweet, and spicy sauces are very good, especially if you like paprika, though not too much different from each other, and the fourth BBQ sauce, a bourbon sauce, has a great sweet bourbon flavor and thicker texture. I feel like the sides can often make or break a BBQ place, and they are fantastic here. Hush-puppies are huge and fluffy, the baked beans have a nice paprika/chili powder flavor that compliment the BBQ sauce, and the coleslaw has apples in it which is a subtle but nice variation from typical slaw. Everything has a high quality "in-house made" feel to it, even the pickles seem like they were probably made in small batches and not off-the-shelf. The banana pudding appears to be made with real vanilla bean. Others in my family have had sandwiches and said the bread was delicious. The staff were helpful at explaining some menu items during our first visit. I look forward to trying the chicken and ribs at future visits.

Best breakfast in town. Also, one of the most affordable, especially with the portion sizes. Can't go wrong with the brisket gravy.

From out-of-town, so I ordered the food with the big stars on the menu. Ordered the brisket sandwich with slaw and Cowboy beans to go. The gentleman taking my order said, "OK, what two sides would you like with that?" I said, again, that I would like the slaw and Cowboy beans, TO GO. Got my order on a Dine - In Platter. Is this restaurant on the famed Bourbon Trail that I just heard about on NPR? Maybe the employees shouldn't indulge prior to work. Food was fine, servings were Lilliputian. Come to St Louis if you want real BBQ & decent service.

This is a hidden gem. Kind of off the beaten path in Lexington. Well worth the trip over to the area if you're close to the mall. They have ale 8 one on the fountain machine!!!! If you like to put sauce on everything you'll like Lyles... They have a big selection of BBQ sauce and the food is excellent.

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Now that the location has moved to Lexington everything has changed. The quality of the food has declined significantly. I was so disappointed when I ordered the pulled pork I almost ask for a refund and left. The atmosphere has also changed. The people working here are not very knowledgeable and they are jot very friendly.

Booked them for catering a graduation party this past May. Working with them from start to finish was an easy and great experience. The food was delivered on time and was hot and yummy. I too like Samantha had to come and eat because of the response to the 2 star review. First of all, using words like Lilliputian is obviously someone compensating for the size of something but I digress.....the brisket was spot on, the green beans had an awesome spice and the slaw was delicious. I tried 3 different sauces which were also very tasty. And the hush puppies were some of the best I've ever had and I come from seafood country. Thank goodness I don't have to drive to St. Louis for good BBQ. Great job Lyles!

If I could rate this higher I would but they only let me use 5 stars. Lyles and team are excellent and that really comes through in the food. The BBQ is AWESOME! Average. Reviews made me hype, but when I finally tried it, my pulled pork was extremely dry, BBQ sauce wasn't even that good, and hush puppies were bland.. you'd think they'd at least season them with something... Maybe it was an off day for them, I will try again another time...

A little on the pricey side for what I got and I wish there were more low carb side options for diabetics but the brisket tastes amazing. You don't need any sauce but they have several yummy options if you choose to.

Easily one of my favorite places to eat in town! We’ve got a lot of BBQ options but Lyles is my go-to. I’m a pulled pork guy myself and I love trying their different sauces with it but what really sets this place apart for me are the sides and the staff. Everybody there is always happy to see their customers and even remember the names of their regulars. If you go, I recommend the Mac and cheese, I pick it up to go with meals I make at home all the time!
