Just went to this place today and brought a friend from out of town because I did like the restaurant. I was saying this place had great food. Walked in for lunch and sat down. Sat at table for over 15 minutes and no one approached us for anything. Even though they saw us while waiting on people at table next to us. Worse than that there were flies all over the place. We swatted at least 10 flies we counted just sitting at table. And was so hot in place you were sweating. If you have to be surrounded by flies than they are for sure on your food. We left. Too grose and hot and no service. Shame I loved this place. It is not a clean place anymore. Hopefully the owners see this and realize that as for at least today that they would never pass a health inspector. Good luck.

I LOVE LA MEXICANA. it’s my go to place for tacos in the greater cincinnati area. Tacos done the way i love them. double tortilla, onions and cilantro. So if you’re looking for “authentic” tacos, this really is the spot. It’s comfy, casual and good prices. The staff is super friendly and great.

The food was good, our server was polite, knowledgable and quick with any requests we had. Salsa and chips are free for the first little bit but any refills were an extra charge. The salsa only comes in a hot version but had a wonderful flavor that had me reaching for more despite burning my mouth a bit. My main issue was that another staff right up front was being terrible and acting more like a drunk customer than someone on the clock.. She was cursing like a sailor and acting up despite seeing my toddler standing right there soaking up her actions. Our server rang us out and apologized for her coworker's actions but the fact that this individual acted like that really ruined our otherwise good time. Based on the look on our server's face, this was not the first time that woman has acted out. Going out to eat is not just about the food and I don't think the food was good enough to override the staff actions.

Whew! The tequila bar alone will have you elated you took a break from your social media, work, kid and who knows what else day! Oscar blessed each of us with a shot of Peligroso Tequila, followed by several authentic tacos made from scratch! Once I walked out this place I knew I found a hidden gem! There is a full bar with addition seating in he rear! The bathrooms are clean AF, the staff are friendly and attentive, the food is NOT basic AF! This is a must go! Plenty of free parking around (check the lots)! I hope you enjoy!

One of the great Mexican restaurants in greater Cincinnati. Tasty, authentic food. Clean, inviting space, although a little small and often crowded at traditional meal times. Everything I've eaten has been at least very good if not great. They have all manner of unusual stuff like tripe and veal brains in addition to the more normal chicken, steak, pork, beans, chips, etc. Horchata great too. I've probably been 30+ times over the years and it's always on my go-to list if I'm near Newport.

Love this place. If you like authentic mexican food this is the place for you. Great margaritas. The salsa will make your nose run and if you are bald your head may sweat! If you like American mexican restaurants like the three in town I suggest giving this place a try. Expand your horizons...in your own back yard.

Best authentic tacos I've ever had. $2 tacos on Tuesdays, expect a bit of a wait to be seated due to limited seating with how busy it gets. About 15 meat options to chose from. Paid meter street parking. You get one free basket of chips and salsa and they charge for an additional basket so don't complain when you see that charge on your bill, it's clearly stated on their menu. Food is served pretty quick

Meal starts with complimentary chips and salsa. Two additional salsas (green and habanero?) are also provided. Tacos are some of the most authentic flavors. Delicious!

Incredible food. Tacos Al Pastor are melt in your mouth delicious and the flautas are fantastic. Friendly staff, intimate environment, and fair prices. Will definitely be coming back again and again.

Great hidden Mexican restaurant! It looks small from outside but keep walking and you will see it gets bigger. The food is really good and authentic, and the staff is very friendly. Their chips are some of the best I've ever had, but only the first batch of chips is free! They also have Mexican coke. If you're trying to decide where to go, I 100% recommend going here!

I didn’t realize how big the large horchata was. Don’t order the large horchata unless you are ready for some serious consumption of horchata. It was enormous. Food was great!

We LOVE La Mexicana! Wish it was closer to northern Cincinnati so we had an excuse to visit more often. The food is excellent, love the tacos and the sauce they put on them. The tequila selection is incredible for my boyfriend and I since that's usually our liquor of choice if drinking. Staff is bilingual and pretty friendly.

Yum! So good! How could I not know about this place? I joined friends for Taco Tuesday and my food was so good I forgot to take a picture! So... Margaritas and chicken enchiladas were absolutely amazing and I'll get pictures when I go back... which will be ASAP!

first off I'm 800 miles from home here on business. Found this place on Google and don't regret it for a second. Never thought I could find a Mexican restaurant to match good morning my home City apparently it's possible. The waiter Adrian went out of his way to make sure that I had a pleasant visit. Flavor was great service was superb.... and the price was totally reasonable. A beer side of guacamole and an entree for under 17 bucks. I come here every quarter and I will be back

Half of our food was cold. They remade it while we sat and watched the other half eat. WHAT FUN! Not even an apology. We annoyed the waiter by asking if it could be heated up. Shame, cuz the food was good.

After the Historic Riverboat Cruise, we are the fabulous Fajita Mexicans, delicious Enchiladas and 1 Quesadilla Appetizer that filled me up! Great friendly service, best tasting Quac ever and tasty hot sauce. We enjoy great Mexican food - wish they were in S.C.

One of the most authentic Mexican food restaurant experiences I have ever had. The food was excellent in quality oh, taste, and presentation. Excellent value 4 the entire menu. The proportion of food was surprising and that there was enough to eat my fill and take some home for another snack. I will definitely recommend this to my friends and take my friends to this place.

Ordered the Pezole and pork tamale. Very good. Pork rib on the bone (Pazole) very tender. Tamale needed more sauce (to my liking). Guacamole, I believe was made in house (texture), was delicious.

Went on a Sunday around noon and not to busy but was picking up by the time we left. Food was really good and prices no to bad. I had the Tortas with birria (goat) and it was plenty. Salsa and chips are good also.
