Nice atmosphere, my husband loved his burger, my sandwich was average, and we got free chocolate cake for all the ants that I found floating in my diet coke.

Don Coomer

Food was just ok. So was the service. Limited lunch menu. No appetizers offered on the menu. Most likely I wouldn't eat here again.

Ron Lasley

Great place, friendly service, very good food

Having never been to Bardstown, KY, I looked on Google & saw that Kreso's was rated highly for it's food. I decided to try it this Monday evening about 7:30. It was a bad decision on my part. I was told by a white haired woman, the owner, I presume, they were very busy & only had 2 people waiting tables, if I wanted to wait, she would seat me, but they were full. Rather off putting for someone whose never been here. Maybe Kreso's doesn't cater to out of town visitors, at least on Monday nights. If I ever find myself in Bardstown overnight again, Kreso's won't be on my list to dine in.

We have been here several times over the past year as it was the best German restaurant we have found yet! Sadly though the last time we went is probably our last. The service was great and friendly, but our three meals were way over cooked and cold. It was as if they were made hours earlier and just sitting around in pants or something. It's sad because it's such a cute place.

A true European family restaurant with the best bourbon collection in the Commonwealth. The food here is amazing, dont be afraid to ask about specials or off menu items. The bourbon collection will blow your mind. A note to be missed spot in Bardstown.

Excellent food and service. Nice atmosphere.

Very good and service, quite enjoyable..

My husband and I had dinner here last night and it was outstanding!!! After a long day of traveling we just happened to find this restaurant and decided to try it. The food was very tasty - salad cold and crisp and the Wiener Schnitchel was wonderful. My husband enjoyed his goulash. Great European food and atmosphere. Service was good and our waitress was very friendly - also enjoyed the story of how this family restaurant was started. We enjoyed our dinner tremendously and will definitely return when we travel this way again. Highly recommend.

Food was great and waitstaff had an awesome story.

Upon entering, expectations were high as the place has a high class look and feel. Sadly our experience did not live up to this. Service was slow, with our table of two being the only customers upon arrival. We ordered sweet tea for our drink, it was dispensed from a soda gun and had a poor taste. We will not return as the overall experience was sub-par.

Wenda McMillan

Unfriendly, high prices, 2 hamburger without fries was $17.98. Very greasy. Ask for pie after dinner to take the nasty burger taste away and that was $10.50 for two. Slices was VERY small. Lunch ended up costing us $35.83 for two people plus tip. Will never eat there again.

Great. A bit expensive but the chicken marsala was excellent!

This is a great place for European/German food. My husband and I are very much into fine dining and this is one of our favorite places to eat. We eat there every time that we visit Bardstown and it is always delicious. It's a family owned restaurant with authentic flavors and the family that owns and operates it goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and appreciated. If you're in a hurry, you need to go when it's not a busy time of day but if you do have a moderate wait it will be worth it. The pace is a little more laid back in Bardstown and that's part of the charm.

Not sure these people know how to run a kitchen. It's Saturday night and they are understaffed, running around, and everything is taking forever. Can't tell you how the food tastes, yet. Update: Food arrived 70 mins after ordering. Waitress claimed they are slammed and had to fit us in. I'd say it's about 50% full, so if they had to fit us in, that wasn't clear. I think I'd rather not be sat than wait 70 minutes after my order. Food wasn't really good and is overpriced. Sad face :(

6 of us eating, 3 of us with room temperature food that is supposed to be hot. My carbanara had a frozen food sort of taste that reminds me of Olive Garden. The food was also bland. This will not be where we eat again.

Philip Woods

Good straight forward food, friendly service.

The food is obviously hand crafted. The staff was so friendly. Very good price! If we are ever in the area we will absolutely return!

Janie Teter

Very expensive...bizarre experience. Service is slow & food was not above average. Menu is limited. A costly meal that doesnt even include a salad with the entree, or grated cheese on our pasta. The bread was small rolls hard as a rock, unedible. I ordered a diet cola, the refill was not diet. Disappointing and will never go back. Not worth it at all.

Great food and bourbon. Wonderful staff

Our food and service were good -- a positive dining experience. The decor is attractive and welcoming. Kreso's is upscale: linen tablecloths and napkins, stem glasses, well-stocked bourbon bar, prices in line with all of these. We will be back.

Family run - good east European fare. Had enormous schnitzel- very tasty could not finish as very generous portion. my husband enjoyed a goulash which was tender and flavourful. Not overpriced.

Very good food! Very quiet (we were the only ppl there). A bit pricey, but the quality is very good.

Top 3 worst restaurant experiences of all time. Rude, condescending, slow service, wouldn't provide itemized bill (felt we were overcharged for two items), and the charcuterie plate we ordered? Luncheon meat from the deli. Our son who's grown up on charcuterie plates... 'This tastes like bologna.' Definitely don't recommend.

The food in this restaurant was absolutely spectacular. I have never had such great European /Bosnian / German food. The owner was just wonderful and treated us like family. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

We used to eat here a lot when we first moved to KY and absolutely love the food. The restaurants family owned and the staff was amaizing. However, when we moved to Etown we didn't get to Bardstown often to eat there any more. We decided to stop by and grab some food. I am not sure if the management has changed or the kitchen staff but the food was not good at all. The prices also seemed to have skyrocketed. We ordered 2x schnitzel and 1 stroganoff for $70.00. The stroganoff was chicken in a brown orange sauce on rice. I have never seen stroganoff with rice but tried it anyway. The food was refrigerator cold and it did not have much flavor. The schnitzel was ok but it tasted like it was mass produced and the noodles were over cooked. We are not very picky eaters and we hate fast food but we ended up having to get fast food after leaving. I hope this was just a bad night, because the restaurant we used to go to was amaizing and we used to send people to it all the time. However, I probably can't try the food again for the price of the food. But the inside is still beautiful and a great setting for a romantic night out.

Was a very enjoyable meal.

My honey and I stopped on a long journey from Little Rock and what a pleasure it was, they have 170 bourbon's to try and fantastic food plus an impressive array of beautiful artwork and a huge theater!! I was so impressed, we spent 3+ hours enjoying ourselves, what a treat! Our bar server Jason was above the par and he waited on so many tables he needed roller skates. We also met the owner's who cook the food authentic, it was truly a remarkable experience.

Had a Great lunch today with my family we all enjoyed the Kentucky Club Sandwich. Service was excellent I look forward to going back and try something else.

Thomas Cunningham

Food was well prepared... However the service was terrible. I heard, " Mom isn't here tonight and I don't know where the Pear Schnapps is. and I'm not going to look." and when I asked what the sides were I was told to read the menu. I drove back for my second meal from Ohio! Over 300 miles however I was treated poorly and will not go back for a long time if ever!

Angela Drake

While out meals were good they were not very exciting. My goulash would have been better with a vegetable side of some kind. The meat was tender and egg noodles were a good quality. My husband had the Jaeger schnitzel. Again, it was good but not excellent. If you like simple, home cooked food, this is likely a good choice for you.

Very nice folks While you may wait a bit for your meal, it's worth it because its cooked to order; made fresh

A few years ago, my family and I spent the new year at this restaurant. Let me tell you.... we wished we never went! The owner said that the smokers will use another room to light up but what really happened was that they allowed anyone to smoke anywhere. Our younger daughter was upset for the entire night and refused to eat any food because of the tobacco smoke. The food itself appeared like the dreaded American school cafeteria food. The food selection was bleak. Wish we never spent $250 for New Years at Kreso's. Would've had a better time at McDonalds.

As far as having authentic foreign style food in Bardstown, this is about as close as you're going to get. The menu doesn't have a great deal of selection, but it does have some decent Italian and German dishes available. The inside is decorated pretty uniquely however and the selection of drinks at the bar is honestly pretty incredible. I'd say part of my 4 star rating isn't so much for the food, but it's what the selection at the bar makes up for it.

Lori Severtson

Walking in and smelling water damage instead of food is never a good sign, and it certainly doesn't help the appetite. The caprese salad was bland tomatoes and mozzarella, served with sliced romaine - and zero basil. Appetizer crab cakes couldn't stay together enough to even get them on fork, yet had ok flavor. The entree, though, shouldn't have been served. Angel hair pasta with shrimp, chicken, and prosciutto (which was actually chewy, chunk sliced country ham) in a cream sauce was a let down. Kreso's needs to fix some things in a hurry, however, if they want to still sling goulash in Bardstown, KY; the evening in July when we visited, there were 2 tables sat with 5 people total - at 7:30 on a Friday.

The Bosnian salad was good, but a little pricey. I got the Schnitzel with everything and it was good a little tough but had good flavor. Goulash was not as successful. Overall a little pricey and the wait staff is not very well trained

Adam Irace

We had a great meal and service.

Amazing food, costs more than you'd think but worth every penny. Wait staff is polite and very fast, if maybe a bit blunt. Make sure to check the hours as they close between lunch and dinner on occasion.

Patricia Farney

Excellent lunch. Kreso burger was very tasty.

My boyfriend and I ate there early this evening & loved the place! The atmosphere was elegant, yet, inviting and not snobbish at all. The service was great, as was the food- which speaks a lot to them as they were preparing for a large (closed restaurant) party. Our server ( I have forgotten her name- but she had a very friendly smile & pretty eyes) was both professional & personable. The crab cakes as the appetizer were cooked to perfection & seasoned so well! He had the Kreso's Chicken, which had layers of flavor to it- highly recommend! I had the Goulash, which every Western European family has their own take on (imagine all the types of chili you can have in the US) this dish with little difference here and there. It was a simple- no vegitables, and delicious dish. The cuts of meat nearly melted in your mouth; and the egg noodles played well with the simplicity of the dish. Their selection of bourbons were on spot! They had everything from high end (a selection of Pappy) to highly commercial brands and many micro-distilled! Exactly as you would want and expect for being in the heart of Bourbon Country! We wish that we could have saved room for desserts- which they utilize local bakers for- but we were stuffed!
