This Restaurant belongs to the category of American restaurant.
Exceptional, just exceptional! 6 friends and I were in town for a bachelor party, and being a group of food snobs that we are, we decided to make a stop at Jack Fry's due to its reviews and reputation. Suffice it to say, no one was disappointed. Every single item we had was cooked to perfection, seasoned perfectly, presented beautifully, and of course most importantly, tasted exceptional. Across our party of 7, we tried multiple starters, entrees, and desserts, and every single item was spot on perfection. The service was absolutely stellar as well. If you want refined Southern food with an old-school feel, this place is truly unbeatable.
Delicious food! Great service! Great drink selections! Would definitely come back!
Very enjoyable dinner from start to finish. Great cocktails, great service. We arrived 30 minutes before closing and they served us well past closing time which we greatly appreciated.
My first time here, and it is as wonderful as all the locals say it is. Jamie was a Fab server. And the vibe is old school Hollywood and NYC combined. :)
My top choice for fine dining in Louisville. The unique vintage atmosphere sets the mood for a meal of traditional American fare with local southern spin. The knowledgeable and attentive wait staff will guide you through the daily specials. The great wine and bourbon selections will complete the experience. Minutes from downtown accommodations. Reservations recommended.
The food was fantastic, more focused on quality than innovation- not necessarily a negative, mind. Definitely on the pricier side, and though there is limited first-come seating at the bar, I would highly recommend making reservations a couple of days in advance. The environment is intimate, but by no means cloistered.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere and service were great.
Wonderful food, and even better service! I can't wait to go back!
The good was exquisite and the service divine. The atmosphere was low key on a Thursday night. I had the Brie salad and chicken confit. Will definitely be back.
Jack burger is one of the best burgers on Louisville. Expensive though
The staff... the food... the live jazz cats.... everything was stellar!!
Setting aside the incessant road noise and the cramped seating, Louisville's "best of the best" restaurant served me a cold scallop appetizer and a very small portioned haddock. All the entrees were very slow arriving.....our party was generally very pleased with their meal and did get the appetizers taken off the bill. I rated them a 4 star because there is no 3.5 !
Very good food but.......TOO noisey. Couldn't have a conversation with the person sitting across the table.
The service and food were over the top excellent. Environmental and music most enjoyable! A must for locals and tourists!
The dinner and the service was impeccable there's none better in Louisville Kentucky. Stephanie has continued the Excellence of the finest restaurant in our area.
Great atmosphere, awesome food, fantastic service. It's a really great down to earth but "fancy" place. We love going here to celebrate special occasions. Everything is always so good, you never have to worry about anything. Just bring good company with you and you'll enjoy it.
Excellent food and service.
Had a fantastic filet. Also wonderful cozy atmosphere
Awesome food and great service.
We ordered the filet and lemon pepper chicken, as well as drinks, salad, and desserts. All of the items were excellent and the staff was very friendly. We had a terrific Valentine's dinner.
We visit Jack's every year and every year it seems to get better. The Lamb Chops are to die for. Perfect every time. Thanks again team you knocked it out of the park again this year. See you next year. The atmosphere was fun and the food was delicious. Great service and loved all the pictures on the wall. Meal is always good. Service is premiere. And I never have a negative experience at Jack Fry's and that is over 30 years now.
Great service, fantastic food, and it goes without saying . . . great cocktails. Love this place.
Best filet I've ever had. Props
Such a great experience! From the service, to the drinks, food, and amazing music, this is one of the best dinner experiences in Louisville, if not THE best. It’s like your best city speakeasy preserved in time! Please never change. You made my birthday
A really cool spot. Loved our waiter and the experience. I got the beef fillet as an entree, and it was delicious but perhaps not worthy of $50. Would recommend the restaurant though!
Nice ambience impeccable service and food
Great atmosphere... Noon touristy... Go to
Excellent service. Sirloin was cooked very nicely, family raved about the lamb shank.
One of the best restaurants in louisville hands down, a staple, and a must go
We go to Jack Fry's every year on our anniversary and I'm always impressed, but our experience last night was probably my favorite ever. I got the beef fillet and my husband got the lamb chops, and it's hard to say which was more delicious. The only negative was that my husband bit into a small piece of bone in our rabbit tortellini appetizer, but seriously -- you just can't go wrong with anything you order here! And the service is absolutely impeccable as well.
Oh where do I begin... we’ve been celebrating our anniversary/my birthday here for the last 4 years. We come back year and year for the atmosphere, the filet ( because you can’t come to Jack’s and not get the filet), and the staff! We have each came separately before and never ever have had less than a 5 star experience. Louisville is proud to have this restaurant in their city and I encourage everyone I meet to come give it a try!
Food and service were great, portion sizes are a bit small
My boyfriend and I celebrated our 5th anniversary here and had a great time! Our waitress was attentive and helpful. The food was an excellent portion for the price! We got the crab cakes as an appetizer and outside of the coast they're the best I've had.
The food and service was amazing! We all enjoyed the filet, pork chops and lamb chops! The shrimp and grits were also great! The experience was better than other high end restaurants in the area. We will be back!
Most consistent best meal in town in what is definitely the best room. How can you beat live piano?
Was very happily surprised with the food and service. We will definitely return. Would recommend to friends.
We had a large group and we had a great time! The food and service were top notch. Next time I'm in town, I'll be going again.
Good flavorful food. Good appetizers too. Service was great.
I've been here twice, and my experience both times was exceptional. The food is phenomenal and the service is excellent. If you can get there when they have live music it's definately worth it.
Nice date night ambiance. Service was fine, but not overly friendly or quick. Food was good, especially the banana desert. Would go back if invited by friends.
Service was excellent. The food is top notch. Piano after 6:00 PM. An enjoyable night out. Don't forget that reservation or you may be disappointed . Can't wait to go back.
You don't have to have a reservation but it helps especially in busy days. There are not a lot of tables and there's a small parking lot but you can park on the street. Great food! Tried the roasted cauliflower, Jack burger, and pork chop, all were wonderful! No sweet tea though.
Great atmosphere, my server was awesome, and my food was great.
Best restaurant in town. Old, established, not too big. Excellent menu and food. Wonderful owner and chef. Parking can be a challenge at busy times.
Great food! Ate here twice while visiting Louisville.
My husband and I were very underwhelmed by this dining experience. We were visiting from out of town to celebrate my husband's birthday and all the reviews made it sound like this place was a must visit. The service was prompt and attentive but not above and beyond. The restaurant is small so it does get loud and the tables are cramped. We started with salads which were forgettable. My husband then had the burger and I had the shrimp and grits. Both were good but we've had better. There was nothing wrong but we had better meals in Louisville during our visit.
Great food, service, and atmosphere!
Awesome atmosphere and great food!
Wonderful atmosphere! Dining at its finest!
My fiancé and I went to Jack Frys on a date night last Saturday evening expecting to get what the reviews are saying. Not at all was that the case! We are used to going to nice restaurants frequently and this was on our list which the weekend before we went to Bucks on Ormsby paid about the same price and was treated amazing. From the moment we walked in it looked like an inconvenience to our server he rushed from the table every time he came and if we didn’t answer fast enough he left due to closing soon and him wanting to finish his Side work even though the restaurant was open until 11:00 pm & this was around 10:30 pm. Our food was not at all what we expected my bun was burnt to crips in which i have a picture of. The server never came to do a 2 min check back of our first bite after he finally came I had ate my burger without a bun. My fiancé always orders blantons and which was not served there instead of the server going through and explaining different types of drinks we again are rushed. We also checked our coats in with the hotess in which no one was to be found when we were leaving and the gentleman bartender got our belongings! Highly dissapointed in this restaurant & won’t be back.
Very good meal and wine. Loved the pork dish!
Very pleasant surprise we stopped at Jack Frys on our way to another restaurant for dinner. Everything about our meal was excellent. The pork chop was the best. The only thing better then the food was the service. The waitress spent extra time with us helping us plan our next day in Louisville. I would definitely return to Jack Frys again and again and again.
I loved this place. My son insisted that we visit Jack Fry's. The wait staff was WONDERFUL!! The food was fabulous. This was a great night out with our family. My only complaint would be we were by a very large group which were being very loud. Okay I get that but then the restaurant started playing live music which was absolutely wonderful however, which then made the table talk even louder. We couldn't hear each other at our small table. Do definitely a place to visit!
SALMON SALMON SALMON. GET. THE. SALMON. I am a big salmon eater, I cook it, i order it, breakfast lunch or dinner you name it. This was the best piece of salmon I’ve ever eaten, the almond pistachio crumb was just amazing, the piece of fish was so fresh and the natural flavours were to die for. Our waiter Kurt made everything perfect for my birthday and was so knowledgeable and friendly. Amazing experience, couldn’t have been happier.
Really great food and drinks. Only down side was deserts were not as good as rest of meal - but I've had good deserts there other times.
The waiter was very nice and helpful, the food was great, and very well priced for a nice restaurant.
We were in town for fun and found this place on Google. Great place! Food was all well prepared. Not a phony high-class place. Genuine!
AMAZING! What a gem! This is such a wonderful restaurant in the heart of the highlands. The service was outstanding, with the feeling of being served by old friends rather than just a another server. The food outstanding and the ambiance alluring. The combination of low light, live piano, and the dull roar of conversation gives the place a feeling much like old Hollywood. Cannot wait to return.
Great food but the atmosphere is why you go here. They’ve kept things the same for years at this historic restaurant. The servers are top notch and they had a man playing piano the entire time. Very cool and fun atmosphere. It’s hard to find a great place that this that sticks true to the customer experience. I’ll be back the next time I’m in town!
Our last night in Louisville and what a way to finish our time on the bourbon trail. The food, the staff, and the ambiance was perfect. My main course (The filet) was done to perfection.
One of the best restaurants in Louisville, with service that is out of this world!
Amazing experience as always. It's expensive but you ha e to go at least once. The bone in pork chop is on another level.
This place is amazing. Tables are close together and it gets loud pretty quickly but if you're okay with that the atmosphere has a truly unique character. Service is amazing, drinks are top notch, menu is to die for. I've dined there multiple times and cant endorse the lamb chops enough, but it's all good. Not cheap by any measure but worth every penny.
This place is awesome! There's really nothing else I can say the food is over-the-top good the service is over the top good but get there early as you might not get a seat and parking might be at a premium however if you do encounter these problems it's definitely worth the wait the place is awesome
Very nice, wonderful waiter!
Only rating as a 3 because I didn't actually eat here. I had asked my husband for lunch suggestions in the highlands for my dad and I. My dad had eye surgery and we were looking to grab a bite to eat before heading home. His suggestion was jack frys. So we found the restaurant after a few wrong turns off bardstown road we found it. Its located on the opposite corner of Wicks pizza, but on the same side of the road. Theres a small parking lot for customers right before the red light. Anywho, we walked in and was greeted immediately by a very friendly hostess. Apparently, reservations are suggested even for lunch but the manager had a spot open and let us sit down. Ok, heres the funny thing, after we sit down I open the menu and knew we were in the wrong kinda place. The menu looked delicious but not my for my likings. My dad then told me he couldnt read it so i was reading him the menu in this upscale, very nice restaurant he gave me this look and I knew we needed to exit the building as graceful as possible. I made it to the door and called my husband and he laughed so hard because he knew where he was sending me and knew I would be so embarrassed. Lol so if your looking a very nice sit down classy restaurant, this is your place. It's very beautiful and the employees are very kind and helpful.
Awesome shrimp and grits, pork chop, and old fashion! Definitely a place to stop by if you're in the area!
Went this past Sunday for my wife's birthday. First off they sat us at table in between the hostess stand and the kitchen entrance. With the layout, this meant that everyone coming into the restaurant, entering/exiting the kitchen, or going to the bathroom would walk next to our table. The floor was not well supported here causing the table and chairs to rock every time anyone did so... which was constantly. I did ask to be re-seated and was initially met with friction. I was only accommodated after simply stating I would take my business somewhere else. Wife got the Filet and myself the Trout. Food was excellent and service was good. They even gave my wife a free bunt cake for her birthday. So why the one-star review? Because by 3 AM I was hunkered over the toilet violently throwing up trout. Now I am not saying someone messed with my food, but I was clearly regarded as inconvenience, have never gotten sick from fish before, and felt fine by the morning. Its enough of a coincidence that I doubt I'll be back.
Took my wife to a late lunch for her birthday, everything was perfect. It is hard to improve on the best!!
Fantastic experience all around with wonderful food.
Sat at the bar for dinner. Lamb chops were heavenly
We have, for reasons unknown, just kept putting this restaurant off. I do not really understand why we did but regret that decision. Had the pork chop and that breading was delicious. It provided a crunchy outside and the meat was very moist. I'll definitely head back for another entree in the near future. Highly recommend Jack Fry's!
Great food tonight, but so noisy wife and I could not talk, and could not hear the waiter. I had the pork chop, delicious, w fingerling potatoes (too salty) and asparagus. Wife had salmon, delicious, and the beet salad, also delicious. We shared the mixed fruit cobbler w scoop of vanilla ice cream, that was excellent. We have eaten here several times, but never w this much noise, Saturday night, at 8:30-10:00. Suggest go early and request reservations way ahead.
We always have a lovely dinner here. I love the lamb chops and oysters. This is a mainstay, and a VERY strong menu for many years. I am all for innovation, but please do not abolish the original menu, or change ANYTHING about Jack Fry's. They are the best of the best!
Great meal! I had the Jack burger with cheddar cheese. Tasted great! Looking forward to the next visit.
I have to say the Chilean Seabass I so enjoyed was prepared to perfection! And our server, Liz, definitely sets the higher standard! My husband and I had such a wonderful evening!
Wow excellent!
Disappointing… the New York strip was tough, flavorless, and served cold; accompaniment of succotash, chimichurri, and tobacco onions was uninspired. Clearly popular and I’ve enjoyed being here in the past. Maybe just an off day. Staff as always friendly and competent.
It was the best dinner restaurant we visited on our be trip to Louisville. The food was really yummy
DELICIOUS! Everything was seasoned & cooked to perfection. Definitely must try
Jack Fry's was simply fantastic. The service was knowledgeable, prompt and unobtrusive. Their bar is well stocked for any cocktail or spirit you might be looking for. As to the food... WOW just wow! I had the lamb chops and this meal easily hit my top 5 list. Another one of our party had the sirloin with similar feedback. This will be on my list any time I'm in Louisville.
Horrible. Ordered 2 bottles of wine one of which was a $200 bottle of Caymus. Had to wait at a min of 30 min for the caymus to come to the table. They said they couldn’t find it. Service is horrible. Waiter blamed it on us because we ask for the ladies to be served first. Just sad! The manager lady is very rude Won’t recomend and definitely won’t be back!
Great food! A Kentucky classic
Unbelievable! Everything from the fresh soda bread to the brussel sprouts to the seared halibut was beyond excellent! Service is impeccable and ambiance is marvelous. A "must do" stop for Louisville visitors.
Always great food and drinks
I didn't eat here (beyond appetizers) so can only comment on the bar and general vibe. This is a classic old school Louisville joint. Excellent Manhattans, Martinis and the rest of the classic cocktails you'd expect.
Took my wife for our 1 year anniversary. They were amazing, from the host to the server and everybody in-between. Highly recommend, and the food was incredible!
Fabulous. A true Louisville original. Always an excellent experience. Highly recommended
We live locally and read about this place on a Top Kentucky Restaurants list. We visited blindly without checking anything in advance. The prices were shockingly outside of our budget, but it was honestly worth it. As my husband keeps putting it, he Flowers-of-Algernon-ed his taste buds.
My first visit to Jack Fry's and expectations were high. Service was excellent and the food was served perfectly! This time I said "Yes" to dessert. We'll be back.
This might be the best burger I've ever had.
Excellent on all levels, very good atmosphere. But like so many restaurants these days I left with a headache from the noise...so many people in a small space (front room/bar). Hats off to the pastry chef, the bananamisu was outstanding, don't get me wrong all the food was stellar, but the finale was off the charts great! Service was top notch as well. Over all only 4 stars, due to the noise levels...then the piano man started, great music... actually helped reduce the other white noises.
Jack frys is a great dining experience if you're okay with a loud atmosphere and small tables close together. The decor is unique and very nicely done, but the ambiance is negatively affected by the noise levels. Food and drinks are very good, but they don't know how to cook a burger medium-well! If you want to experience Jack's in a more friendly way I strongly recommend lunch. It's lighter, brighter, and you can hear the conversation at your own table, with the same great service and a similar menu as dinner.
Amazing food always great service and amazing history behind the restaurant!!
Surprisingly great burger!
Amazing restaurant for dinner. Friendly staff and quality ingredients. I enjoyed the Brie Salad and the Squash Pasta, which had house made noodles. My boyfriend enjoyed the Pork Chop, he said it was the best he's ever had and he was still talking about it the next morning. Definitely a great place to check out.
Great food! Had the lamb chops (in my top 5). Great Old Fashioned! The gale bartender was amazing she worked her tail off. Went last Saturday at 9:30 pm it was packed. managed to get the last seat at the bar. The noise level was insane everyone was yelling to speak to one another. Jack's Fry was a a great place to eat and will definitely be back. But they need to hire a sound expert to quiet that place down. It would have been nice to actually hear the pianist.
I love this place. The ambiance, the food...fantastic! Did I mention the Manhattan is outta this world!
Always a great experience!
Not my Fav. Very dark inside
It was okay. We didn’t have reservations but were seat promptly. Although it seemed like a romantic setting, everything felt crammed and on top of everyone. Price was way high for what you got quality and quantity. Wish i would of taken my date to le moo :( could of gotten much more for $140 ( 2 person dinner)
Excellent food. Pricey. Good for special occasions
A Louisville dining institution, Jack Fry's is unassuming and not pretentious in the least. They thrive on delivering amazing food and a romantic ambiance without being flashy or trying to impress anyone with expensive location or architecture. Jack Fry's is a place to enjoy great food and great company and not simply a place to "be seen". Reservations are almost a requirement as they have a strong repeat business and can be fairly busy almost any night of the week. Take a walk around inside and look at the old pictures, many of which are photos taken inside the restaurant which has operated almost continuously for several decades. While it is rather expensive, the food is exactly what you would come to expect from the prices on the menu. Portions are good and the food is extremely well prepared and combines ingredients that a top tier chef dreams up. Let the experienced wait staff guide you to make the right choice of meal and wine pairing.
Excellent date night destination. While some dishes fall a bit short, the steaks, burgers, salads, and appetizers are far above the majority of restaurants in Louisville. Soft, live piano music and attentive, unobtrusive service create a truly welcoming and special atmosphere. When I dine here or enjoy drinks and snacks at the bar, I feel focused on the moment, away from the bustle or Bardstown Rd.
I have been eating here for over 8 years and my wife over 20 years. Moving to Louisville from Chicago and being spoiled with great restaurants at your finger tips living downtown Chicago, Jack Fry's has always been a great choice. The food is always really solid and excellent along with the service. I highly recommend Jack Fry's.
Wow! Great escargot and black garlic Caesar
Everything on the menu is fantastic
Let me start with my server....Jackie. very attentive and polished. She was so good ...when she ask me how the food was I told her it was very good but came in second place to her skills in comparison. Yes as good as the meal was...she made it better. It is the role of every sideman in a band. To make who ever is up front sound better than if they were alone. Jackie made the meal even better. Good food good service. I shall repeat this experience.
Service was excellent. Food superb. Forgot my lamb chop I was going to snack on later. Lol
Sinatra...nuff said...and food is very good
I loved this place! Wow, the service, the food, the ambiance! I can't wait to go back and I think my husband will love it! I wish I'd taken a picture with my mom, grandfather and sister. It was so neat and I highly recommend it for a night out! Visiting Louisville, include this gem in your visit.
As part of our monthly ritual several co-workers and I decided to check out this establishment based on the recommendation of one of our group, and it was without a doubt a great decision! The service was superb, and the food was absolutely phenomenal! The presentation was artistry on a plate, the beef filet was perfectly cooked and every bite was a taste of heaven, and even the sides were scrumptious! This is now one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in town!
Steak was amazing, bartender drinks were on point and the chocolate dessert paired perfectly with port.
Outstanding food for the price. A must visit while in Louisville!
I got to eat here while in town on business. I had an excellent dinner, with exceptional service. 10/10 would dine again.
Great service and delicious food.
Delicious. I've eaten here twice now, and both times were great. Try the burger with some stilton, you won't regret it.
I was wholly disappointed with my most recent experience there. The french onion soup had no gruyere cheese. The steak was mediocre. Also, the server presented my date with the wine and gave him a taste, but not me. Come on, this is the 21st century. Also, he kept rushing us to order and was not helpful with wine suggestions. He was overall incredibly unprofessional. When I called the manager to discuss my experience he was indifferent and dismissive. Overall, it was completely unacceptable and I will not return.
A great place to eat. Love there food. But man you have to bring your wallet in order to eat here. But it's worth the money. Great place.
My wife was given two “all inclusive” meals for two for this restaurant by a colleague of hers as a gift. She works a lot so we never had a chance to use them. Unfortunately, unlike most major restaurant chains that offer gift cards, theirs has an expiration date. Ours expired and this restaurant would not accept these expensive gifts. We normally try to eat at locally owned restaurants but considering Lilly‘s gift cards also expired on us, we will not be eating at either of these locally owned restaurants for some time to come. Needless to say, I think it is ridiculous that a gift card that you pay good money for would have an expiration date (Coupons are different).
The best restaurant in Louisville as far as I am concerned. Clean, professional from the hostess to the jazz player. Waitress or waiters were attentative. Air of the atmosphere was untouchable.
Excellent restaurant. I love their menu and the service here. The scallops are seared absolutely perfectly each time I order, which is often.
outstanding service, delicious food now this is work for me cooking is all about. Great restaurant and great experience
Our group was blown away by the service and consideration we were shown. The restaurant is truly fine dining from the atmosphere to the food and drinks. A number of people in our party are vegan and the chef went out of his way to prepare a dish catered to our needs. We were incredibly impressed and hope to return when we visit Louisville again.
We loved our light dinner here. Service is super friendly and accommodating, drinks are generous, and the food is a great modern twist on old school hearty flavors. We were not that hungry, so we shared 2 apps and a salad and some drinks, and they took such great care of us.
Very nice restaurant, staff great, the two entrees we ordered were good.
The best meal I have had in a very long time. We were in Louisville for a few days and everyone we spoke to said we had to eat at Jack Fry's. We walked in without reservations and put our name in for a ninety minute wait. We went down the street for a drink and after 90 minutes we got the text that we could be seated. All of this was well worth the wait. When the group I was with starts using explicitives to describe their meal it is a very good thing. Every bite of our main dish was fabulous. I hadn't had a meal this good since Hakkasan in Abu Dhabi. I cannot say enough good things about this place and would definitely be coming back here again.
My birthday club goes here often. There is a 26 year span in our ages and we all love Jack Fry's! I eat Gluten Free and they do a wonderful job accommodating. From casual clothes to dressy attire....all seem to fit in here.
Every person visiting Louisville NEEDS to go to Jack Fry's. Nothing comes close.
We couldn’t get dinner reservations, so opted for lunch reservations. So glad we made that decision. The shrimp and grits were top notch, as well as the tropical seafood special. We left satisfied and talked about the food several times afterwards. The service was spot on and timely. We would go back again and again. This is a must visit place. Everything was delicious...except the pork chop. Good taste just dry. Had to ask for more sauce. I am sure this was an anomaly. Atmosphere always ambient. We love this place!!!!

One of the best places I have been. There was a live jazz band and it was a great atmosphere. It's louder, dimly lit and there are hundreds of framed photos on the walls The grits are awesome here. The rest of the food was also really good, almost cooked to perfection. For drinks, they have the best Bourbon Ale
Great service, great food, great music. Total package.
Top notch food and service; this is a great place for a high quality experience. Everything is delicious so just pick out something and enjoy the experience of it all. While many, including myself, would consider this an expensive meal it's good to treat yourself and your friends from time to time. Make yourself a memory here.
Food was excellent, service a little slow especially since it wasn't busy
This is fine dining at it's best. Delicious food prepared to perfection. Outstanding service. A bit pricey, but worth it.
Wonderful restaurant! Fabulous date night ambience. Many many thanks to the awesome chef for creating a truly amazing vegan vegetable dish not on the menu. Thank you!
Took our teenage sons for birthday dinner, they were most impressed by the "Dining" experience. The food was delicious and the staff was wonderful. The atmosphere is a place where you would think Frank Sinatra would walk in and have dinner.
Amazing food and amazing service. It was a little noisy, but not anything to be too worried about.
Haven't been here for years! The place got a much needed remodel a year ago. Bathrooms are now more than adequate & very nice. It is expensive; lunch for 2 with no drinks, no appetizers, & no desserts was almost $40 (before tip.) Dinner menu is even more expensive & we have never been for dinner. It is a treat just to have a rare lunch at Jack Fry's
Meal is always good. Service is premiere. And I never have a negative experience at Jack Fry's and that is over 30 years now.
Perhaps my favorite restaurant on the planet! Have never ordered anything here that was not over-the-top wonderful. Wait staff is also very well trained and attentive. Be warned though... the dinner offerings are exponentially more expensive than the lunch offerings, and not much difference in size. An overall seamless experience every time.
I have heard so much about this place, that I was afraid I might be disappointed. But, it was every bit as good as the reputation I had heard about. Great food - fantastic service -great atmosphere.
Excellent service & food exceptional
Very cool vibe... Old school steakhouse. Only had the burger but it was bang'n!
Great food and service
Food had great flavor as always. Portion size was disappointing as always. Salmon was tiny. Great business lunch spot. Cobb chicken salad underwhelming. Expect a 5 star meal and got a 4.
Very good place to eat
Excellent dinner and great ambience... the wait staff was great and the wine was perfect and not too expensive. It wasn't a cheap dinner but it was worth it.
Food was amazing! It was a little cramped
This was my first 4-5 star restaurant. But after having eaten at a michelin star restaurant (Dusecs in Chicago) i can tell you the food HERE is good, but not worth the Michelin Star prices. I enjoyed the lamb chops i had, they had a good flavor and presentation. The atmosphere is rather cramped, the dining room is loud and dark (dark isn't that bad), and its not an ideal place to have a romantic date. Wish i knew that before going here the first time. 150$ bill for two meals, two glasses of wine, and an appetizer. 4 star for the pricing alone.
It was the best food I've had in years! Will definitely be back!! The shrimp and grits are to die for.
Food was wonderful. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits. Do yummy.
Really great atmosphere. Some of the best food we ate during our visit to Louisville.
Amazing experience, couldn’t have been happier!
The service was also pretty phenomenal. I felt like the server knew when to approach our table at just the right time. We started the table off with a bottle of Cabernet, the Escargots, and Spicy Fried Oysters - no picture of the apps, we inhaled those as soon as they were placed on the table.. Both were very delicious. I had no idea what Escargots were, and my friends didn't tell me until after we finished the plate. But it didn't even phase me knowing I ate snails.
On par with the best restaurants in Louisville. The fillet was perfect.
Great service. Soda bread, scallops, shrimp and grits and escargot are ABSOLUTELY delicious. My medium cooked steak was on the rare side so I would strongly recommend asking for a medium well steak instead of a medium cooked steak.
