I didn't have to wait to be seated. Good service, waitress recommend cucumber dressing which is wonderful and made daily. The salmon with pistachios topping and sprinkling with maple syrup was good. The first time I went there was 50 years ago, it was good and still is good. I've been out of Northern Kentucky for years and every time I come back it is a place I need to eat.
My spinach salad was very good. The tables, however, are nasty! My friend and I ask for fresh silverware and an extra napkin so we could create a better eating area. The tables are wood so I am sure it is from washing them off with chemicals but a table cloth or piece of paper cut to size would make a lot more pleasant eating experience. They feel gross.
This is very popular with the older crowd, but I just don't really like it. It's elbow to elbow, the food is just passable, and the service is ok. There are at least a dozen places I'd rather go. That being said, it's acceptable enough. I don't get mad when my grandparents want to go out to the Greyhound for a dinner. Just disappointed.
We went there Brunch food was very good. The atmosphere was nice.
Sunday Brunch rating only. Probably wouldn't do it again. Will definitely return for supper.
Wide variety of delicious dishes, friendly, on their toes staff and beautiful, old building full of history. Oh! .....and the bread pudding is to die for.
Cozy lovely ambiance, excellent service
The pecan crusted chicken is amazing
The Sunday breakfast feast is out of this world!!!!
Extremely poor service. The Halibut plate was terrible!! Two stars for the appetizers. Fried green tomatoes were grea .
Fried chicken lovers rejoice, for the lord has provided us with The Greyhound Taverns, soon to be famous, chicken. Truth be told I was skeptical $16.50 for half a chicken and sides (served family style). However once the dish arrived all doubts were erased, and minds were put at ease. I won't go into detail other than it was stellar, and worth the price. To the manager, your staff was impressive. Our servers were very attentive, prompt, and answered all questions we had. Great job, please keep up the awesome work. We'll be back.
Very good. Dessert items were lacking but all the other food was great.
Always impressed with the menu, staff and service!
Great home-cooked meals. Filling and satisfying.
Our waitress Kellie was so nice and accommodating. Food was excellent as always. No wait for a table due to reservations. Very nice Sunday dinner
Greyhound Tavern has always been a family staple for my family and I. The atmosphere is that of a service mindset. All the staff are happy to assist you in having a great meal. I always get the buffet when I come here and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend!
Fried green tomatoes amazing! Fried cod deliciously flaky and excellent breading! Will definitely return!
Great chicken. Best in NKY in my opinion. Service good, atmosphere
Good Kentucky Hot Browns. Very friendly staff.
Great place to eat.
Stopped in after a roller derby game, and was impressed. Loves the food, our waiter was beyond nice. If ever down this way again, will gladly stop in!
Great atmosphere and very good food!
Great atmosphere. The food and service are always great.
Best onion rings I've ever eaten! Food excellent!
We have been customers for many years, always enjoyed, until today. My husband ordered the meatloaf ,not very good, left most of it on his plate. I ordered chicken livers ,asked for them to be crispy, they were not, did not get corn at all, left most of mine as well. We had waited an unusual amount of time for our meal, then told dinner rolls we're not ready, never got them. Our server seemed not well trained, that's very unusual for Greyhound servers. We stopped around 4, not busy at all, just don't understand....
Had their hot brown and it was so delicious. We also shared the onion rings. They were huge and crispy and delicious.
Very good.Great food and services
The old lady that works the bar was nothing short of rude and disrespectful. All over a table we were unaware was reserved she takes table with a attitude threw chairs in place and continued to be nasty. Worst service I have ever came across. Luckily we did not have to deal with her long. The rest of the experience was very nice and great food.
Food and drinks were excellent! The homeade cucumber dressing for the salad is delicious. The bourbon slush was amazing too!!
Excellent food and service.
Great food and service
This is one of my favorite places to eat in the greater Cincinnati area. Very cozy atmosphere and a great menu. My personal favorite dinner option is the Alaskan halibut but the fried chicken is a close second. I highly recommend their Sunday brunch buffet. You can't go wrong with anything you get here!
Food and service was awesome
Delicious homestyle chicken
Get the fried chicken and a bourbon slush
Cool atmosphere and lunch was delicious. I will definitely go there again.
Great service, delicious food and strawberry mimosas!
Sat outside, beautiful area. Had cod special, very good fried. Hush puppies a little dry and over cooked, potatoes were barely warm but tasted good. Good service
Great brunch. Service was friendly on top of it. Not from the area, but if I'm ever back around I'd definitely go back
For me it's a little different I'm an employee their. The food is amazing and the kitchen crew is awesome the management staff are some of the greatest ive ever met in a work place q QQso hands down it's a great .place to work and eat and if you like chicken you definitely gotta try it out.
Services plus but not least the food was top notch will return sooner the better
Fried greed tomato are to die for. Food is really good.
Chicken specials on Mondays and Tuesdays are great. Live the food and historic nature of the place.
Fantastic! Service excellent and the fried chicken is amazing! (I'm not even a fried chicken fan). Hitting Tousey House in Burlington next
Old restaurant been in same location for many years. Great food
Always outstanding food and service. Sheer quality.
Best onion rings ever! Chicken was very good. Staff very helpful and nice!
Good food! Excellent service! Lots of parking. Hot slaw is delicious, not too many places serve that. Their salmon and cod dinners are tasty!
Their food always tastes so good. Come here every year with my grandfather
This place may be fine to 364 days per year, but do NOT come on Mother's Day. I swore I'd never come back the first time we came when they were unhelpful about my daughter's food allergies. Then we came again a few years later and it's the same disaster. They clearly don't have a good rapport with their business neighbours because the neighboring business closed their parking lot - spaces blocked off. So it took 20 minutes to park, while passing about 100 empty spots that were blocked by a business that isn't even open. If Greyhound cared about their guests they'd pay that business, if necessary, to accommodate their guests on Mother's Day. Secondly, we had a 130 reservation and didn't get seated until after 2 pm. What's the point of a reservation if you still wait 45 minutes to get seated? Just a horrible way to treat customers.
Pappy Van Winkle. Shrimp cocktail. Historic bar.
Love the Sunday buffet. Great breakfast OR lunch items on the buffet. Love the bread pudding too. Friendly, helpful staff and service.
Oh my gosh this place was so delicious. Think of going to visit your grandparents and your grandma is cooking. The special was so rich and flavorful and heart warming.
Great food, a little pricey but good
Great food. Kentucky Hot Brown
Fantastic service and delicious food!!
Fine dining at its best...five stars...you heard me...f...i..v...e...
Awesome place for some grub, they do get busy from time to time I'd call ahead and make reservations
Good food, great atmosphere.
Delicious food great service love to eat here
Personal attention with wonderful quality
My favorite dining establishment. Has it all - ambiance, great food, great service. Wish I lived closer.
Very good food. Great service. This is a place where you go for a relaxing meal. You can dress casual or go all out for a fancy meal. A nice dress and suit isn't out of place here.
Been going for years. Always good. Great shrimp cocktail, great onion rings, great Bloody Mary, great Kentucky Mule, great fish entrees. And, did I mention, fried chicken to die for. And my favorite waitress, Nana.
Wonderful food and friendly servers.
Excellent dining place ! Food was top notch.
Service was amazing, food was DELICIOUS!!!
Great family spot with a variety of enjoyable entrees! Tried and True
Excellent staff service and food. Thanks
All you can eat fish tonight, food was good like always, but the fish was a little smaller than it is usually. But you just order more, right? The service was slacking a little, it just was not as good as in the past. Maybe the server was going through some person issues, that is okay, everyone has a bad day. Over all still great!!!!
Good food and good service
Great food and service
As always we're always happy with our decision to go to Greyhound tavern . The food is delicious & the staff are very kind.
Pinky, James and I took moma Kathryn here to celebrate her Birthday. Our first time here. Food was awesome and the people were great. We will definitely be coming back.
We had a party of eleven and were seated with our shoulders almost touching. Hardly any room for various plates and drinks. Food was mediocre and the prices dictated better. Service was sub par and the waiters seemed to forget the simplest of request. This was not my first visit but definitely my last. Highly disappointed!
Food was excellent, however our server acted as if it was a. Hardship to wait on us. We were very polite and gracious, but she did not care that our glasses went without being filled, and ignored other requests...
We went there because google reviews said best fried chicken. It was right! The hot brown and chicken salad croissant was super, as well. Definitely will go back. The atmosphere and service was elegant. Staff we all so polite and professional. Very nice place. Great find. Perfect for date night. Make reservations! Its packed!
Great food and service.
This was my first time and I loved it. Had the shredded pork sandwich. Will be going back they have many good menu choices.
It was good, but felt like the holiday slam hurt then a little bit. We had done a lunch here about 10 days earlier and it was quite nice. This is also a place for the older recipes... Remember "Hot Slaw"
Very nice Easter brunch with the family. Enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
Great food & atmosphere.
Delicious and great service!
I had forgotten just how GREAT it is!! Hot brown was amazing!!
If you really want some good Cod fish , this is the place to come 3 pieces of cod way too much to eat in one dinner two sides little pricey $18.50 , or you can get a cod fish sandwich chips and slaw for $10.50. Well worth the price no matter what you choose. The service is always outstanding in the whole place is decorated very nice.
Excellent service and food. Anxious to please no matter your needs. Give them a try for your next special event. You will not be disappointed.
The Food and service was excellent! Would recommend Greyhound Tavern to anyone. Call and make a reservation so your seated eight away.
Great food a great service!
Great food, good service, and very nice atmosphere.
I love restaurants that are a one of one. So you know you are in for some original cooking. The chicken was delightful. And you can't resist unlimited bacon.
Everything that was ordered at our table was excellent. I had the Reuben sandwich which I would recommend.
Good service. Large portions served family style. Rather uneventful sides.
Very nice & proper staff.
Great place for dinner. Best onion rings in town. Fried chicken top notch.
Good food good atmosphere
The chicken cordon bleu sandwich is fantastic, as are the cheese sticks.
Pecan crusted chicken was excellent. Great service, love the setting.
The staff is excellent and the food is very good for a reasonable price. Their portions are generous and the accommodations have a nice small town feel mixed with old world charm. Try the rum butter.
Excellent food, drink and bourbon slush. Had myself a hot brown.
Good table arrangement for large family dinner.
The food was fantastic and the servings are plentiful!
This place is outstanding. Good home cooked meals in a beautiful establishment. Will definitely be back! The KY hot brown and meatloaf were amazing!
Food was good and fast enough. Watch out for the special stuff. I tried their bourbon slushy which was quite good but at $7.50 for a half full small glass it was unreasonably overpriced drink. I've paid that much before but the slushy is usually 2x that size. Just watch what you order.
Nice atmosphere. Fantastic food and service! Very cozy.
I've only been there twice but the food is delicious. I had the cod fish sandwich and the fish was great. I ordered the green fried tomatoes. They were great. I had never had any like them with the tomatoes sauce and cream cheese. The onion rings are huge. You will have to share with a friend ( even the half order). You're The atmosphere is cozy and sort of family oriented. I will definitely go back.
Fresh hot food and experience was great. Waiter went out of his way to get me what I wanted, by means of visiting a vending machine to get a mountain dew so I could have a Jameson and dew, my drink of choice. Didn't get his name but kudos and a big shout out to him if he reads this. Overall experience was good
I LOVED this place.....
Service was amazing..food was good
Comfort food. Great fried chicken onion rings the best Very pleasant atmosphere, friendly service and a lot of regulars
We used to eat here quite frequently. The food is pretty good. Unfortunately, that will change due to the awful experience I had this evening. The customer service is terrible. I had to call multiple times about a carry out order in which I had used to door dash. It took over an hour for my order to leave the restaurant. The manager stated they were out of romaine lettuce for a Ceasar Wrap, therefore did not make any of my other items on a $100 order. Yet my salads could be made, since their house salads use a different type of lettuce? The manager was not helpful and offered no compensation. Now I'm making my children a different dinner.
Steven was great, Food was amazing!! They make you feel welcome!! Good place, great people!
I would highly recommend the gray hound tavern to anyone looking for a decent meal. The food tastes great and waiters/waitresses are very prompt and very polite. I could not ask for anything better. I will always eat here when in the area
I have never been to this establishment before & honestly would never come back nor would recommend this restaurant to anyone! I went with party of 5 & service was well. The biggest complaint that I have to say is the food (pork chops) were over cooked. We asked the waiter for another pork chop & he bagged it up and put it to go for us after 30 mins of waiting. We asked for the manager, he then proceeded to talk to us in a condescending, disrespectful manor... mainly for our age being 25-30! We told him what had happened and nothing but sarcastic remarks were expressed! He did not care about our situation, or to show us remorse... very hurtful because we have been coming to this establishment with our mothers and fathers for years! :( .. can’t believe it! #TrulySad
A calm and collected setting with wholesome soul food, and professional service
Outstanding food, superb service and an inviting atmosphere. We were there as a party of 6 for their fried chicken special. First off, that was some excellent chicken and serving it family style was very tasty. The sides were as yummy as the chicken. I was visiting from out of state. Otherwise, I would be going back every week for this special.
Best fish sandwich in town and fried chicken too.
Good food and professional service in a quaint atmosphere. We really enjoyed it!
It had the look and atmosphere of a place your great auntie would love to take the family to for a nice dinner at 4:30, but the food was surprisingly good. The kids menu was a little sparse but they gave my son a temporary tattoo so he was happy. I had a BLT sandwich that had fried green tomatoes on it. Yum. I couldn't finish the whole thing but I wanted to. My son hated their chicken fingers, they were bland and a little soggy. My husband enjoyed the hot brown. Service was pretty good. No major complaints. We probably won't be back anytime soon, but it's worth a try if you're in the area.
Sunday Brunch buffet is wonderful! Eggs, bacon, getta, biscuits, sausage gravy, fried chicken, french toast, mashed potatoes, vegetables, fresh fruit, and table full of fresh desserts. Be sure to make a reservation or be prepared to wait a bit as they are usually packed.
Food was great. Very pricey.
My husband and I were so happy we chose Greyhound Tavern for lunch. We had not been there in years. Fried Green tomatoes as an appetizer were crispy, hot, and I would like to thank whoever thought to put ham mousse on top and pair it with the excellent sauce. My husband could not pass up the turkey hot brown and although he expected to bring half of it home, also could not stop himself from finishing it. My blackened salmon harvest salad, also perfectly cooked and delicious. Plus I always appreciate a server like the one we had, Rich, who when asked to make a suggestion between two dishes, did not feel the need to suggest the more expensive one. Instead, he asked a few questions and helped me make the right call. A great afternoon.
Good food, good service! Especially great fried chicken! And, a great atmosphere!
Fantastic service great food...just what the southern cook ordered...one of my favorite restaurants in the Cincinnati area.....never changes ...never disappointed always number one
Nice place. Mashed potatoes was cold. Steak was ok. Hot slaw was just was just warm.
Great food, excellent service!
Great local food. Excellent service. Must try this place!
Tdd he pork loin special was so dry difficult to swallow. Should have been kept in some broth. The severing size of the meat porchion was to big . You could share meat but order extra side. A said of cranberry with it would have been nice. Waitress was nice.
Sorry to say, not the best. My fish sandwich was very soggy. The fried green tomatoes had little flavor. I hate writing this comment, but we have enjoyed this place for years. Maybe just an off nite in the kitchen. I hope so.
Nice and clean, quiet atmosphere. My steak was wonderful. My bread pudding was the best I ever had.
The food is fantastic! Friendly people all around. Our server was great! Definitely go back there again to eat! Plenty of parking.
Nice family dinner place. Seems the area buisnesses dont support sharing parking lots, as they blocked it off...
fried chicken with friends what could be better!
The chicken livers were absolutely yummy!!!
Perfect food; perfect service!
Great service great food
Great old school place. Good service. Decent menu selection. Good food.
Ordered Onion rings appetizer and they were huge. Had the Hot Brown, never disappoints.
Good food, great service and fun.
Food was great, but to cold to eat and food got cold, that is ridiculous
We brought our cousins from out of town, they loved it. The food and atmosphere was great.
Service was friendly. Christmas atmosphere very nice. However, the Sunday salty pork loin "special" was just plain awful. It was room temperature at very best. The salt infused gravy content reminded me of a Swanson TV dinner. Sorry for being so direct but my and my wife's servings were that poor. We were celebrating a birthday and I just prayed no one else ordered the same fare. I was asked by the waitress how was everything and I just bit my lip! I was there to celebrate a birthday not to be burdened to complain about my Sunday night "special."
Seated quickly, friendly staff, fried Green tomatoes were great, the caesar salad had soggy croutons, the steak was a bit bland, potato seemed almost cold, had raspberry cheesecake for dessert which was good. Overall it was ok but nowhere near worth the bill
Great place for a home cooked type of meal. Their fried cod is excellent and service is usually prompt
What a awful experience food wise and management. The food took forever then came out completely burnt and way overcooked more than one order. Asked for my food to be remade. The server was the only bright spot on the whole place did all he could do only reason they got 2 stars. Manager never came out to say anything on a + $200 check. I have been coming for 10+ years and this time made me never want to return. The manager talked down to us because we believe we were younger than most in the establishment.
Great food and very good service!
Excellent food and exceptional service
The Greyhound Tavern lived up to it's reputation. The food and service was great! It has a very nice atmosphere. It is really worth a visit.
Hands down the best fried chicken around served family style on Monday & Tuesday night's. Warm inviting atmosphere. My family has been eating there for many, many years.
A local tradition for a hundred years and the simple reason is that they never cease to deliver the finest quality. In addition to always adding new and tasty dishes to their more than ample menu they continue to offer wonderful traditional dishes that truly puts the comfort in comfort food! The spacious multiple dining rooms are cozy and the place comes with a rich history. The service is first rate and the staff both welcoming and friendly. Well done! As always, Enjoy!
A Northern Kentucky staple, arguably the best fried chicken around. The fried provolone sticks are top notch, too. I'd recommend anything on their menu.
Nice atmosphere. Good food.
Excellent food and service.
Easter buffet was incredible. Good food, great wait staff!
Wonderful service and amazing food! The atmosphere of Greyhound is upscale and welcoming all at the same time. Make this part of your next special occasion. You won't be disappointed.
Good food friendly staff.
Pleasant wait staff and good food for a reasonable price. Dessert is a must have!
The staff here was so nice & accommodating. Couldn't decide if we wanted to eat on the patio or inside. They told me that when the rest of my party arrived to let them know & they would keep a table inside available for us. Joe our waiter was very good. Each 1 of us chose a different item to eat. None of us were disappointed with our selection. I will definitely be back to try other options plus return for the delicious breakfast pizza I had. The ambience there on the patio even though it was on the cooler side was enjoyable. They had the fireplace going. I think putting the outside dining patio was an excellent idea someone had. They are definitely a restaurant I would try if you haven't already. The prices are a little bit high, but the quality is there for it. My son requested a slight change for the breakfast burrito he ordered & they were happy to accommodate him. Try it. You will enjoy the food!!!
I went 1 time a few years ago and all I can say is back then I wasn't impressed. We had went at lunchtime cause a couple people told us we had to go try it out IT WAS GOOD. We didn't want just a lite lunch we wanted a meal long story short it's was ok nothing to brag about really. I don't like giving these reviews and I would hope since its been a while things have changed. One more thing they are kinda pricey. Have a blessed day.
