Will never eat there again , fast to get you a seat and drinks , then you can forget about the service . When we were checking out , the girl took our money and went to the kitchen , we said we were in a hurry when she came back out to us , she said "YES JUST A MINUTE. " then she still had our money in her hand and she took a group of 3 to their seats . So I went back to our table and took our TIP back . Then she came back to ring up our receipts .

Fried entrees were over-cooked. Egg drop soup tasted like bacon grease. Won ton soup was thin and there was no meat in the noodles. Food needs lots of work. Not sure how this place has gotten the reviews it has. You'll know good Chinese when you taste it, and this ain't it.

Green Bamboo was the first restaurant I ate at when I came to town 24 years ago and it was the last restaurant I ate at before we moved away a few weeks ago. In all those years our food was consistently tasty - no complaints. Hard to believe because everyone messes up from time to time. I don't consider their prices to be too high - it may all be relative; but their dinner portion sizes are very generous Their buffet (when they have it) has a good selection of food, but not too much. And therefore there is a good rotation of hot food on so that the food does not get cold and yuk. One complaint in regard to the buffet is that they are not fast enough to refill some of the more popular dishes. The restaurant is older and dated. The bathrooms are small and worn. No reflection on the taste of the food.

Service was great, my husband was very happy with his food and the portion sizes were more than enough. However, I went expecting the really good fried rice that I have gotten there many times over the years. Instead I got rice that wasn't that much better than from a buffet. Tough cubed pork, no bean sprouts etc and pretty greasy. Very disappointed. I try to avoid gluten but splurge for special occasions, what a waste of a splurge.

Clean, excellent customer service and the food was delicious. All the vegetables were fresh and the quality of the meats were outstanding.

Food was over salted. I couldn't eat mine. Wanted an extra order of egg rolls. I wasn't able to get extra egg rolls. Waitress told my husband & I one egg roll came with each dinner. We knew that. We wanted a total of 4 egg rolls. She kept saying we were getting plenty of food. She kept repeating Plenty of food!

In the mid-90's this restaurant was phenomenal. I was really looking forward to eating here again. I ordered House Lo Mein and Hot & sour soup carryout. Both were awful. The soup was more salt than sour and barely spicy. No tofu strips, barely any other ingredients. Maybe they dipped it up from the top without stirring. Lo Mein wasn't lo mein noodles. Undercooked spaghetti. DRY...no flavor, no sauce to speak of. Few vegetables, a smokey after taste that didnt belong. Maybe this was just a bad day for them, but I doubt if I try them again. Very disappointed. While the food was barely edible, it was served within the time they said and was packaged well.

Some of the best Chinese food in have had, in quite a while. I thought I had reviewed this place, before. So I failed to take pictures! :( The Mongolian beef was really good, although it lacked and spice! Funny how most Mongolian beef is spicy, and some is not. Anyways, the ambiance of this restaurant was way cool! Fish tanks and traditional Chinese flare. The waitress wasa little abrasive, but all in all, a good experience!!

I used to live in KY, but now I live in Florida. When I come to visit, that's the ONE place I HAVE to go when I'm there. The hot and sour soup is the best I have EVER had, the Mandarin chicken and Pork with Garlic sauce are my favorites and their egg rolls are better than any one else's. The sweet and sour sauce is unique (and unlike the gelatinous red sauce that most places have.) The service is always top notch and the food is always consistant. I can't say enough about Green Bamboo. My favorite restaurant of all time.

I ordered some food and had it delivered to my house and apparently there were some 20s stuck together that I didn’t know about and I ended up overpaying by $60 the man who took the money called and returned the money that I overpaid of course they tipped him very well but it was such an honest gesture I had to give these guys a five star The food was great to !!!

Fantastic Take out experience. The portions were large, and cooked well, and the staff was friendly, patient and kind. I am always skeptical of take-out, as it never reflects the quality of a restaurant with true accuracy. That being said, if it is better in person than is it like warm and driven home, they will get five stars upon my return.

Meal was excellent. We ordered the family dinner . Picked 2 entrees....Mongolian beef spicey, sesame chicken spicy. The meal was served with Soup, Egg Roll, 4 chicken wings and fried rice. Every thing was excellent . Our bill totaled $35 with tip. Great food and service but a little pricey.

I am originally from Elizabethtown but have lived in Louisville for over 15 years. Growing up, Green Bamboo was an after church lunch institution for our family and we always had their buffet. I have recently visited Green Bamboo a few times the last six months with my family for the Sunday lunch buffet and to my astonishment, it is even better than I remembered! The selection is better than before and the food is made fresh and not a cooking cooker Chinese buffet like you find at most places. Great food and very reasonable, don't hesitate to try Green Bamboo!

Buffet was not a buffet more like a hot table lo mein was made with spaghetti noodles nothing was spicy chicken was bland no space your eating on top of each other. Do not go for the buffet that is around 9.00 a head for limited offerings instead order from the menu and go around 1:00 so you can breath and eat your food without having to listen to the others conversation

This is a shame. We have been fans for a long time 10 years plus. Even when we had noticed in the past that the air vents atrocious, bathrooms dilapidated & gross & they obviously are not crazy about you bringing your kids (regularly would not bring silverware for kids & even ask if the were 2 of you while you had 3 children in your arms & at your legs) we still went because food was so good. Now that is not the case. Watching this place just fade into the annals of Elizabethtown memories. Can't imagine this place remaining open more than another 24 months.

We just went there to eat the lady messed up our order and when we spoke to the manager she didnt offer a discount or opologize. So unnecessary charges. So for two people we each ordered a meal for 12.95 then they added a bowl separate of fried rice for almost 5.00 so I was trying to explain to her that we ordered the meal for 1295 but instead we got a plate of meat for damn near $13 and then they added rice on top of that and by time I added two drinks in the tax we paid right at $40 for a meal with no apology or no discount so we were just like the hell with it we just won't eat here again

The best Asian food in Elizabethtown. Nicest dining with tablecloths and a more formal decor and more comfortable seating and service than the restaurants which are All Buffet all the time. You can order off the menu here and they make traditional dishes which reflect the creative component of Chinese food..the artistry that you don't see presented on a plate just for you at the big buffet places where they make essentially "casseroles" of food that is poured into a big pan and set out. It's a totally different experience. It's fine dining.

I've been passing by this place for 9+ year's always wanted to try it. An in early December I was pretty much told hey get dressed your going with us. We hadn't planned on going just all 3 decided to try it. Between the portion sizes , an how good it was. We kinda didn't care to much on what the bill would be to a point. Yet it was very reasonable an lower than I expected. I'm planning on going again. Just gotta wait for taxes ATM. I don't have any extra play money at this time.

A true food experience. This isn't one of those cookie cutter Chinese takeout places. This is real old-world recipe stuff here. Even the sweet and sour sauce is made in hoise - and it makes a huge difference. Served in a traditional style of servings of dishes for the table with plate on the side. The best around the area without doubt.

We usually go to buffets so for my birthday last night I wanted some real Chinese food and selected this restaurant based on reviews. Frankly, I do not understand the good ratings. The rice was served in a plastic bowl with a lose fitting lid which left the rice cold in a short time. The chicken sweet sour was flavor less with a sauce similar to buffets (as comparison: in my husbands hometown you’ll get crunchy yummy flavorful chicken with a sauce that contains fresh vegetable and pineapples). I had the half crunchy duck which was the spine and a couple legs, slightly burned barely any meat. In my hometown (Germany) you will be served a big crunchy golden brown breast (no bones) on a bed of fresh vegetables with a delicious orange sauce. Here I felt I payed lots of money for bones... Tge soups were nothing special, you get better ones else where. The egg rolls were pretty good. My son had chicken low mein with rice which I don’t understand why it was served with rice but ok. The chicken lo mein was a good size for children’s menu and tasted pretty good. I won’t be coming back and just stick with the Chinese place in my husbands hometown whenever we go there I guess or maybe check out Louisville...
