This Restaurant is classified in the category of Mediterranean restaurant.
This our first time at Decca, and was blown away with the nostalgic feel of their cellar bar. Just stunning. We started there with a gold rush and a local five dollar holler ( shot of bourbon & a cheap beer for $5 for those of you aren’t familiar) the gold rush was delicious! After our before dinner drinks, we decided to have two starters. I had the pan roasted mussels and my husband had the bib lettuce salad. For our entree we decided to share a ribeye steak and new potatoes. Everything was just prepared perfectly! We are truly blessed to have a upscale restaurant with reasonable pricing in walking distance from our loft. We will definitely be back! Loved our experience! I’m closing, you may want to make a reservation and ask for the patio if it’s nice outside. Trust me it is worth it!
We had an amazing dinner here. Drinks were superb and food was delightful. The fried green tomatoes were to die for. My husband thought the steak tartar was amazing. The risotto was not the best I’ve had as it felt like more of a porridge. Our steak came out medium well/well when ordered medium so that was a little upsetting but the flavor was spot on. The outside seating is so cute be sure to reserve a spot out there.
The place is very romantic and cozy. low lights. the food is good and the servers as well. the appetizers were fantastic
We had an amazing meal, and our service was outstanding. I wish I could give Decca more than 5 stars. All the courses were unique, and well thought out, but most importantly they were delicious!! Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable, and the little down stairs bar was awesome too. Cannot wait for our next trip to Decca!
Loved the food, nice patio and bar downstairs. Service was decent, knowledgeable about menu and recos, a little slow but not so much that it was bothersome. High quality farm to table restaurant
The food was excellent and unfussy but creative. Service was a match. I was happy to find a favorite, reasonably-priced wine on the list. Dinner outside on a mild summer evening in the beautiful garden was a treat in every way.
Great cocktails and great, imaginative menu!
Went for drinks in the cellar lounge. Very cool bar and fun cocktails.
Wow! Everything that I had was amazing and the service was really good as well. A little high in price but definitely worth a visit.
Omg the flavors were so interesting and yummy. Service was excellent, the food was hot...my salmon was cooked to perfection, and the ambiance on the verrrranda was beautiful...
Great dinner
My steak was cooked perfectly! Food was delicious. The mint tea however was like Boiled water.. Everything else was perfect!
A very nice establishment! The outdoor patio is amazing. The mussels and bourbon cocktails were great!
Great food, nice ambiance, loved it!
The servers in this well decorated establishment are horrible. Our table and the adjoining table waited 20 minutes for tea, and waited an hour and a half for our food. While waiting on the risotto and pork chops that we order, they brought us cold bread. Then when the food arrived it was cold, undercooked and was just ok. My disappointment was exacerbated by a friend telling me that her party of seven was refused service in this same place and that the server didnt even come to the table to let them know for 30 minutes. The server are slow and reluctant to bring you items requested. The restaurant turns NuLu into NoGo. I will not return..ever...even if the dinner was free,
Great gourmet place in Louisville! Lovely dishes with an amazing combination and balance of flavors on a very relax and confortable atmosphere. Mostly really good thing has its price... $$$$
Beautiful place and great menu
Awesome everything. Wait staff. Food. Atmosphere.
disappointing. ambiance is lacking. tables were so close together you almost touched your neighbor; possibly because the main dining room door lets in cold air every time it is opened and people huddle together for warmth. i can't imagine what it was like the last couple weeks. wine and alcohol lists are limited. food menu is "specialized" and, frankly, overpriced. my $15 "middle" dish consisted of 4 small Kabocha squash ravioli in a bowl large enough to wash sheets in. i thought it was empty when it was placed in front of me till i peered over the side. and saw them on the bottom floating in coconut milk and a few spots of oil. my starter $13 crudo diver scallop was 'okay' however the scallop was a fresh as it could be. the servers were attentive and refilled the water glass at every opportunity. the bread passed out one piece at a time was fresh and tasty but no butter or oil was served with it. the dessert menu was passable but nothing stood out so i passed. not something i'd recommend, especially if you're hungry.
Great local beer, atmosphere, service and on a Friday night...whoowhoo
This restaurant is top notch. The service and recommendations by the staff were outstanding. The flavor combos where bursting and I felt they all worked. I had Wood-Grilled Chicken Breast with Toasted Farro, Butternut Squash, Madras Curry, Pepitas which was a good showcase of my statement above. For wine I choose Lujan de Cuyo (Malbec), Paul Hobbs “Bramare Vina Cobos”, Mendoza, Argentina 2014 which was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant in NuLu.
Great ambience, stellar staff, amazing menu, all around a good experience in the heart of NuLu. They offer reservations via OpenTable, recommended to book ahead as they are quite popular.
Just okay - the cellar bar and outside patio have a cool atmosphere but the menu is very limited and the food wasn't anything to write home about. Probably wouldn't dine here again
Food was great and the service was superb.
Easily one of the best restaurants in town. Superb contemporary cuisine, well-balanced flavors, perfect portions. A perfect place for a couple with something to celebrate. Don't miss the basement bar!
My wife and I couldn't put our finger on exactly what was wrong, but we left unsatisfied. We wanted to love this place, as it's one of the few Louisville restaurants we hadn't been to and were looking forward to. The service/ambiance was fine, but the food just wasn't worth the price. Salmon dish was pretty standard, and pork chop was below expectation. Sides are separate but for $30/ entree we'd expect at least some accompaniment with the meat. I was going to give 2 stars before getting the check which came with some complimentary dessert popcorn. That was a nice touch.
Fabulous! Creative, locally inspired menu.
Definitely the grilled cheese with gruyere cheese with grilled onions and apricot marmalade! Gotta chow on the pickled beets with sauce! Top it off with Ruby slipper drink!
Top notch food, drinks, and service.
Hahahaha... This place is a joke, no really it's an overpriced establishment that must be nearing failure because it's full of a bunch of angry jerks. I will never step foot in this place again.
Best meal in years. Excellent service.
Arrived on Thursday at 10pm to see the basement with only about 8 others listening to some curated music. Even when almost empty the place had great vibes. By 1045 there were over 35 people down there and it had become an awesome atmosphere to experience with my friends who were in from out of town. To our surprise right as the night started to feel like it had started we were abruptly told last call. Really? That many people and still kick us out? If you sold just one more drink to everyone there the bartender would've made a minimum of $50 more in tips. This could've been an extra $750-$1k for the restaurant (less than thirty per person, which is reasonable because they had all just shown up and the prices here make it easy to spend that much), and up to $200 for the bartender. Staff didn't seem to care they were giving sales away to other bars, either. The bartender seemed like she really wanted to get out of there as soon as possible and there was no management or ownership in site to make the right call for their guests/their top-line.
Best meal in Louisville so far. Very caring staff and beautiful room. Great place for celebration or romantic dinner.
Very cool cellar bar. Drinks were excellent and had a few small bites. The popcorn is a must.
Went to Decca for the 1st time the other day for drinks with a friend. Didn't try their food but went downstairs to the bar and had a couple shots of Tequila . I chose the best 1 they had, which cost 22 bucks a shot..that was a bit pricey...in my opinion anyways.. The bartender was super accommodating and friendly. But here's a little heads up to anyone looking to check it out, dress on the fancy side, everyone there was sporting button up shirts & slacks. Lol
All of the food was very good. The drink selection was also impressive for a restaurant this size!
Really great food. Extremely nice service.
Outdoor on a spring night was lovely. Food is beautiful and delicious. Must go downstairs to get your own drinks which was quick and easy.
Amazing. Every single bite.
Fabulous food and dining experience!
Downstairs bar with limestone cellar walls has a jazzy vibe. Outstanding food and service in a beautiful dining room upstairs. Easily ranks among Louisville's finest restaurants..
I had the grilled pork chop with ginger snap peas. I got to taste the beets, it all was very good. The service is impeccable, atmosphere decent. Great place to have a good dinner after a week long conference.
Great food. Nice outside seating. Good cocktails. Come eat here.
Great spot, nice decor and good food.
Love to the basement bar & great food tonight
I was surprised at the decent portions, and how good the food was. Service was excellent, and great decor.
Really awesome downstairs cave. Great food, too!
Saturday night, August 3, for drinks and dinner. The drinks were served in tall glasses instead of a regular short highball glass. Too much tonic and/or soda. I ordered fried green tomatoes for my starter and the Ricotta Cavatelli with sweet corn, bacon and Aleppo. My date ordered the Wild Shrimp with red peppers and fingerling potatoes. My pasta dish just didn’t taste good. Overly smoky and the pasta texture was mushy. My dates dinner was good but not sure if it was worth the price. Very disappointed. An Annie Pettry restaurant is expected to be top of the line food wise. Not tonight!!
Great place for a party
Great place to share tasty cocktails. Celebrated a friend's birthday and received excellent drink service. Music was jazzy and amazing✨
Very nice setting for a date night
inventive and well prepared food. great presentations
Very delicious made in house, fresh food. Service can be slow sometimes but it is worth the wait. Yum! Neat downstairs bar. Nice aesthetic. Healthy food.
Elegant dining, good food and higher prices but worth to go to...
I absolutely loved this restaurant. First and foremost, we had perfect weather the night we went to Decca and had the pleasure of sitting outside on the patio. Our waiter quickly served us up some cocktails from the bar. I was set on ordering the salmon dish and when I asked the waiter what he would choose, he steered me in another direction totally. He said, “coming from Seattle, I’ve had some great salmon dishes much like ours, but if you want something you can’t get outside of Decca, go with the pork dish!” So, I did, and I wasn’t disappointed! As stated, it was a pork tenderloin pounded very thinly and lightly breaded. It came topped with an wonderful herb salad, it was amazing! Most notable was the fresh dill in the salad that really paired well with the pork. We finished off with their Affogato for dessert with a rum and date gelato. Can’t say enough about this place, great experience!
Beautiful..
It is always realibly terrific. We enjoy the atmosphere and love the food and service.
Food was good but a little overpriced for the amount that you get but the decor and environment were very inviting and very nice
Dan and Anna were so kind to let us film a video on location! Thank you so much!
I'll admit, this visit was paid for by work, but the food overall did not feel it was worth all the fuss. The plating was gorgeous, but some of the sides were overly bitter or 'meh.'
Spectacular food and service
Great food and downstairs bar has an awesome atmosphere.
The food is always complex and delicious! The atmosphere is elegant, but light and comfortable. Service is fantastic!
One of the best meals I have ever had!!!! Mussels were fantastic and the Pork Shank was the best I've tasted!
Loved the live Jazz on Mondays
come for the food, but also best old fashion in the city.
Great atmosphere! Perfect for dinner or drinks.
Best pork chop I've ever had. And the rest of the food was great too!
Lovely ambiance and outdoor seating. Food is not anything spectacular for the price or "farm to table" advertising. There are much better restaurants in Louisville that I would spend my money on.
This was our first visit, and it was a perfect experience! The service was impeccable as the meal progressed from one course to the next. Food presentation was beautiful, and we appreciated the unique flavors in each dish. The dining area has interesting decor and architectural features. The ambience was very nice as the music was not too loud, conversations were relatively quiet, and the lighting was just right to create a relaxed, enjoyable, and romantic time. We plan to visit again, and I highly recommend Decca for a top-notch dining experience!
Top 5 pork chop dishes I've ever had.
Nice place but over priced!!
Went there for drinks, apps, and dessert. Ended it going to the Cellar; unfortunately the bartender was super slow and inattentive towards us. We got drinks and dessert; we had to wait for him to acknowledge us for 10 min to get a Togo cheese plate and our check. Way too loud down there, but the restaurant looked super nice and quiet.
Great place to dine in Louisville off the beaten path with cool vibes and daring food.
I like Monday night jazz great place to stop by after work with friends. Food is alright!
Came for Champagne and stayed for the lovely atmosphere.
Very relaxed atmosphere. Excellent martinis. Phenomenal food. Definitely a hot spot!!
Just got home, it was amazing ! We had a large party, super nice and efficient servers, great beer selection, perfectly seasoned and cooked salmon and pork etc..., some sort of decadent chocolate dessert to die for, and an overall very fun and delicious experience. Great job chef Annie and staff for an unforgettable night. The live jazz in the downstairs bar was a nice touch . Best food in town !
This place is very beautiful. I haven't had the food yet though, just came here to spin fire for an event.
We had a wonderful dinner with our friends and will definitely go there again
Superb food. Derive could have been better. No personality at the bar.
I always go for the cool, brick laden basement of this place for a few cocktails and some old-silent cartoons. The drinks are excellent and a little steep but you most definitely get what you pay for. I've had a few of their bar-eats and so far I haven't been let down. Excellent place.
Great bar in the basement!
This is the most awesome restaurant in the city of Louisville
Annie has built something truly special. Go now.
The food and atmosphere were excellent.
It's electric
Best place for a great experience!
Good food and selection. Slow paced meal. Don't recommend going if you are in a hurry.
One of Louisville's three best restaurants. Amazingly consistent, impeccable service, and you will taste something familiar that will seem brand new to your taste buds.
This is one of my favorite local restaurants. It is a little pricey, and I have heard people complain about the portion sizes (for the price), but for me it was just the right amount of food and the atmosphere is great. There is a basement bar that almost feels like you're in cave, and a patio with a fountain and live music in the summer that is an ideal date night spot.
Review of the bar! Great cocktails late night. I LOVE spicy tequila drinks and the Chubacabra is a mild mezcal cocktail that is what dreams are made of. Viva la vida was be perfect mix of sweet as well... yes both are tequila but I was bourboned out!
A staple of NuLu, this restaurant offers an eclectic menu of fresh food with choices rotating daily. Each dish feels made with care, and the taste shows. We started with various appetizers, and with the main course we ordered one of each of the sides (the broccoli is superb). The Ribeye special was cooked to perfection. They also have a fantastic cocktail menu and a well balanced wine list. One of the best restaurants in Louisville (if not the best). Can’t wait to come back. Service was exceptional as well! Top marks all around!
Cody Stone the executive chef gets my and Tina's vote for one of the best food in town. Everyone was friendly, knowledgable about the restaurant's history and food. Our servers were the best. Wow everyone should go there and dine. Thank u very much.
One very cool place! The bar downstairs is fantastic and the bartender was top notch, she made our cocktails perfectly. Definitely check it out if you are in the area!
Creative menu, with variety for all. Nice outdoor seating area. Good wine selection. Great food.
One of my top favorite places in town. Service is always wonderful, food is super good, visit bar!
Wow everything is top notch. One of the best ribeyes I’ve ever had.
The free DJ night is lame because they stop serving the good cocktails. But chill atmosphere when you're feeling fancy.
One of if not the best restaurant in town.
My partner and I went to Decca for a lovely, romantic dinner. It was an expensive meal but everything was delicious. The cocktails and desserts were phenomenal. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a date, anniversary, or friendiversary.
This place is deceptive. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but what it lacks in appearance, is made up by the food and drink. Parking can be a bit of a pain, but it is well worth the trip. This excellence comes at a price. $$$+
Quaint, laid back with excellent food.
Beautiful, top notch, first class across the board.
The food was very good, but not quite outstanding. We very much enjoyed dessert, and the atmosphere is quite good. Unfortunately, we had a snarky server, but overall I would recommend.
I really wanted to like this place, but neither my husband nor I were impressed with the menu, the flavors, and what you get for your money. I started out with the princess nula cocktail which was way too sweet (orange flavor). We loved the mussels but didn't understand the aioli that came with it so we left it off. We also got the linguine but it was such a small serving size and not memorable. Our entrees, I can't even remember what he got, and I got the tagliatelle which was not good and broccoli (charred and not flavorful).
Delish!
Didn't like food, service was good
Felt like I was in morrocco or Italy but service was just ok...good food also
Just had an awful customer service experience at this restaurant. The manager was so rude and condescending towards me and my husband. This experience is just not worth going back.
Best fine dining in Louisville. They are globally renowned for a reason, and tonight I finally got to taste why. 5 courses, and I literally smiled/laughed the first time I tried each course. The service was also held to the same standard. Incredible.
Service was great, but I thought that a lot of the small plate outshown the entrees. The steak tartar was spectacular.
Went there to meet a friend for happy hour on a Tuesday. While waiting, I headed to their lower level, and waited at the bar. Very chill atmosphere. The bar food options were so good, and cocktails made just the way I like it. Can't wait to go back for the grilled cheese.
Great food and service
Pretty good food, not sure what all the hype is about. The service is great.
Very elegant surroundings and lovely food. Service was extremely friendly and knowledgeable.
Consistently delicious, inventive food. Beautiful digs - especially the outdoor patio. The charred broccoli with anchovy sauce is addictive!
Excellent vegetables! !! Great cocktails. The outdoor patio is beautifully designed and maintained.
Just went to the lounge for a drink. It was good. So relaxed. We were the only people there at 8 pm on a Saturday night. The bar tender was friendly. The drink was good. We enjoyed being able to just relax and unwind a little in this cozy spot.
Great place to share very delicious dishes.
A 5 star experience.
Nice bar downstairs
The food is simply great!
Food is pretty good but overpriced. Somewhat pretentious
Outstanding with a quaint vibe.
Chill atmosphere. We had drinks at the basement bar. Cocktails were on point and dessert was delicious. You can go straight to the basement bar without having to have dinner upstairs.
Everything was amazing and Nulu is a great neighborhood to wander.
Phenomenal front-of-house, cellar bar [service was outstanding], and well-appointed dining area, yet to be very honest, was disappointed in the execution of one of the mains, and in a few serving snafus [while seated at an outdoor table, waitress dropped cocktail splashing my pants and tote bag, front of house had to be asked for a wet rag to clean the table, inattentiveness in taking food and drink order, etc.]. Made the most of it with excellent company, but would not likely return.
Helpful, courteous staff!
A step above
The food was excellent and the service impeccable.
Decca is near and dear to us as we concluded our first date night with cocktails in the Cellar Lounge. When it came time for our wedding, we were thrilled to learn we could buy-out the building for the reception. We could not be more pleased with the service and atmosphere provided for the evening. Decca was very accommodating in allowing us to bring in outside vendors for the day, and always made sure we felt well taken care of. The food was phenomenal (we still have wedding guests raving about their meals) and the beverage selections on point! We cannot recommend them enough!!
Went back to Decca for the first time in a while, fingers crossed that it was still great and found it is better! We always go downstairs to the cozy bar for the cool vibe and same dinner menu. Bourbon cocktails accompanying the NY Strip and the Trout and everything was cooked to perfection. The lima beans seemed to be a nod to Bruce's Mayan Cafe next door, and were as good. We'll be back soon.
It was simply a marvelous experience. Great food even greater service. Give this place a well earned try. Delirious. Clean. Staffed properly. No wheelchair accessibility.
We've been to Decca at least six times, and have always loved it. It's a beautiful space, with both indoor and outdoor dining, and it's in a tremendous part of Louisville. The food is inventive and delicious, and the service is some of the best in the city. I can't recommend it enough. On our most recent visit, we loved the fried green tomatoes and charred napa cabbage caesar appetizers, and the rainbow trout entree. My girlfriend ordered one of the "middle course" pastas for her main course, which she also loved. If the weather is nice, dine outside in the beautiful area next the building. They sometimes have live music outside there, which is an added bonus.
Delicious food. Attentive service.
Eat at the bar downstairs. Lounge feel. Very chill. Great cocktilails and wine list.
There were a few group parties going on, but the service never suffered. They were knowledgeable and kind! The food was original, delicate and delicious! A great place to celebrate our anniversary! We're already planning to go back.
I recently attended a wedding at Decca and I was truly impressed. The venue is lovely, with interesting, conversation-stimulating art everywhere, a gorgeous balcony, and three levels of dining space, each with its own particular ambiance. The food was phenomenal. Duck terrine, mussels in a curry sauce, lush salads...these were before the main courses even arrived. The mains and desserts were delightful. The service was fantastic. Every little detail of the event was thought through. This is tremendously helpful, when you're in the thick of things. I would recommend this place for any large event, and I look forward to dropping in for a dinner sometime.
Truly delicious food. Even the vegetable sides are phenomenal!
"Was clear they didnt care if you came back or not" couldn't of said it better, my god. Have some hospitality. My boyfriend and I came in on a Saturday night in the hopes of trying a promising place (were out of towners), it was quickly diminished by the service at the bar. Again, my god. Nobody greeted us after we were seated at the bar for 15 minutes - it is a max 6 person total for the entire bar seats and they could not spare a second to even greet us. The original bartender seemed to be in the weeds, but the server he asked to help didn't greet us and seemed like he could care less. Approached us and said "What do you want?" and then he didnt say a word to us after that and dropped the drinks off. Nobody checked on if we even liked the drinks or offered to take our order for anything else. Get over your pretentiousness, you douche.
Probably some of the best food I've had in years and the service was fabulous!?
Great Chef!
I dined here with some friends a few weeks ago and was blown away by the food. Very well thought out menu items and great portion sizes. 6 people ordered two appetizers, individual entrees, and two sides to share with the table and we were too full to order dessert. I never thought I would say anything remarkable about cabbage, but their cabbage side dish was one of the best things I've had all year. The mussels were also spectacular and I had a hard time resisting licking the bowl in public. I highly recommend dining here!
Innovative food, well crafted cocktails, and an amazing atmosphere.
I wouldn't mind coming here for dinner on a date night. For casual late night drinks with friends though, the downstairs is too crowded . Good drinks though.
Not great. Mediocre service... as if they’re doing you a favor by showing up to your table 19 minutes after you sit down. The salad was really exceptional and is the reason this isn’t one star. The rib eye was cooked well but was a giant salt lick. Literally a marvelously prepared salt cube. Was clear they didn’t care if you came back or not because they’re in a hip part of Louisville and you’re entirely replaceable. Pretty disappointed. But for real the salad was awesome.
