Good lunch buffet. Very full bar. Not the most authentic but the food is great!

Barbara Hartman

My husband and I have been here numerous times and have been treated with the utmost respect and the food has been lovely. It is our new Louisville favorite for Indian and they were very warm and concerned with our dining experience while we were there.

Matt Simons

Not my favorite in town but very adequate. Friendly and prompt service. Clean restaurant. Good food. I like their Tiki Masala at this location. The lunch buffet is quality for the price.

Rene Hogan

The food is amazing and the service was great ❤️

Waj Sherwani

Price for the buffet is reasonable. I requested a booth and it was made available once a customer left which was not long. Gave me a chance to eye the buffet. Stayed away from the chicken as it looked dry, but all the other options were good. Very good veggie options as well as fish and your chicken/goat curry. All food tasted fresh. Waiters were polite and visited my table frequently to give water. It was relatively busy.

Luis Oms

Great lunch buffet. Really good flavors.

Juan Perez

Best food ever first time eating indian food

Timothy Vogel

I frequent Clay Oven on my lunch breaks. I prefer the lunch time crowd because I know I can get in and out in under an hour due to them never being overly crowded. Clay Oven has been clean and orderly every time I've came for lunch. The food is buffet style and after the waiter or waitress seats you, you're free to choose your favorite Indian dishes or try something new. The food is very fresh. They will even swap out food that hasn't been touched just so it stays fresh. One of the perks of Clay Oven is that you get a frequent visitor card. Each time you checkout, present your card and they'll stamp it. On the final stamp, you get a free meal! If you're looking for great service and a quick buffet style meal- come to Clay Oven for a lunch you won't regret!

Ansh Patel

Amazing food and the service is awesome.vinodbhai is very nice must go.close to I-265 just five minutes away

Elaine Schwaniger

Food was barely warm. Bland flavor.

Russ Allen

Excellent lunch buffet for under $10! Lots of vegetarian options and a variety of delicious dishes. Friendly and attentive staff. I come here all the time for lunch and love how their dishes are different depending on the day.

Gerry Lanning

Nice place. Cloth napkins and table cloths, very nice but very comfortable. Food is very good and the service was really good. Only two things: why is a football game playing at an Indian food restaurant, luckily no on was watching it and cheering, and I prefer that saag have something in it, like paneer. Nothing major though. Worth dealing with the traffic.

Erin Brady

Very friendly staff, with good food and large portions. Its the only Indian place in town I go to because they can clearly identify what Gluten Free items are available (buffet is out due to cross contamination concerns for celiac sufferers). Parking can be a bit frustrating due to shared lot. They are very fast for take out as well.

Audrey Tindle

Food poisoning! Stay away.

jagruti patra

Very bad customer sevice , the people on counter doesnt know how to use groupon coupon and always complain the coupon is valid for dinning in lunch and while dinning they complain on using before 9pm where the closing time is 10pm . I would not go anytime again .

We've tried several Indian places in Louisville over the years. Without mentioning names, the old place on Bardstown Rd, the brand new place in Bardstown Rd, the place on Hurstbourne Pkwy, and Clay Oven is hands down the best we've had. I've tried almost everything on the menu and have really enjoyed, if not loved, everything I've tried. Great flavors, very consistent, excellent presentations, clean place, very friendly staff, white tablecloths but reasonably priced. We love Clay Oven!

Tina Wilson

Amazing food and service!

Mark Macumber

Excellent, clean, reasonably priced. Regular spot.

Leeann Shallcross

The best Indian food around! Great service!

Olivia Simpson

I eat here at least 3-4 times a week. I cannot get enough. Their lunch buffet is so amazing.

Praneeth Potluri

Me and my family had a good experience. Food is really good. Worth the money ..

Todd Cook

Fantastic. Flavorful. An experience everyone needs to have. Clay Oven has a wonderful touch on the flavors and execution of their food where you feel almost transformed into the Middle East. The atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable.

Sarah S

Great food. Very friendly staff.

Mark Farrelly

I live in Annapolis and prefer to buy my curry here than there. Decor is awfully basic but food is great his restaurant is frequently used by all British people/service men - that's a good thing! This is there Mexican.

Soumya Saha Jishu

Very friendly and kind staff Not overwhelming in number of dishes However whatever they have are super good (I might be little biased :D, coz they greeted me saying "Namaste" I don't remember the last time I was greeted with that)

Arnold Steyn

Authentic Indian food. Wonderful atmosphere. Food is outstanding not just the lunch buffet but for dinner as well.

Shi Banks

My favorite place for indian food.

Jon M.

Fantastic food very nice waiter is ready to teach you on how to pronounce the dish you ordered correctly.

Bailey Hill

Reasonably priced, delicious authentic cuisine, and kind attentive wait staff. The lunch buffet is the best <3

Alex Courtwright

Great lunch spot with great service. Try the tomato soup!

Trina Safiya

Nice vegetarian selection on the buffet. We went late in the buffet's window so the food didn't look super fresh or full, but it still tasted great! It wasn't as spicy overall as another Indian buffet on Hurstbourne. The labels on the buffet were hand written on post-it notes. Plates flatware, glasses, and table were all very clean. We plan to go again!

Neha Goyal

I never liked the food here

Latranza Hicks

First time very good

Adi tya

Have to serve food hot and more tasty

soadfanbob

Terrific service and food. Many options and regional dishes.

Matthew Cook

Tried this place for the first time last night and I wish we hadn't waited so long. We ordered three different entrees to go, and all of them were amazing. We'll definitely be back soon!

Adel Elmaghraby

Excellent Indian buffet at lunch. Wonderful menu for dinner and pleasant hosts.

Leslie Kessinger

Soooo delicious. Loved the Samosa. We had the Buttery Chicken, Chicken Marsala, and Aloo Gobi.... we will return!!!!

Joseph Hardin

I've been here twice, never before had I eaten Indian food. I was hesitant, but it was good! The buffet is the way to go if you've never had it before, and I don't imagine I would ever order off the menu unless something really strikes me. Their naan bread is delicious, and the chicken items that I've had have been tasty. It's not a flavors that I can identify, they're just different for those of you who are new to Indian food like I was. It's a very nice restaurant, the tables are nice and the staff is courteous. I think it's the owner that seated us the 2nd time, he wasn't nearly as 'stiff' as the guy we had seat us the first time, but it's a good place. I would recommend giving them a try, buffet is the best bet and it's not bad. $10 for the buffet.

Ashish Jain

Never go...worst stale food.. stinky. ..seems left over of many days...even the chat chutney potato smells like some bad medicine Minus rating and inspection needed

Terry Henderson

... Been twice and I love this spot... with the whole household. They can get my $.

Emily McKinney

Can't say enough good things about this food. Amazing!!

Greg Hood

First visit, great food and great service! I will definitely visit again.

Adam Knutson

If you have never tried it, get the Lamb Rogan Josh with a Garlic Naan. I've had most of the Curry they offer at this point and while all then are fantastic, that combo has had me coming back for three years.

tejaswini somasundaram

We had to wait for 30 mins just to give the order. The food arrived after another 25 mins. The food is more North Indian. The chicken momo’s were good. The naan was fresh and tasted good.

Kathleen Dever

Absolutely delicious!! My husband and I are indian food snobs. This place is top notch! Great service and atmosphere. The buffet has a great variety and some dishes even change along the way. My only sadness was no Butter Chicken but Chicken Tikka Masala is a good substitute in a jam! I also liked they brought a big basket of fresh, hot naan to the table. A must eat in Louisville.

Greg Gorman

Had the lunch buffet. Good seemed fresh. Was tasty. Restaurant was clean. Service was good.

Sherry Jozwiak

Friendly staff, great food!

Chris Dalton

Great service and good food

Alma E.

Very good food

Penny Norman

Very hospitable! Food was absolutely wonderful! Hope to return again soon!

Geoffrey Nelson

We've done takeout four or five times in the past 2-3 months and have been very satisfied with everything we have ordered (chicken korma, chicken biryani rice, etc.). We're a little picky about Indian food, having experienced many poor restaurants over the years, but I would say the sauces at Clay Oven have a certain depth of flavor that we appreciate. Takeout orders are prepared quickly and the prices are certainly reasonable. Haven't experienced dining in yet, though.

Lee Abshire

Great food the buffet is amazing! On my top 10 of places to eat in louisville.

Johnny Evans

Possibly my new favorite! Will be going back for frequent confirmation.

Brandon Childress

Excellent service and food Everytime I come.

Heather P

The buffet had many options, all of which were delicious. My eyes lit up when I saw they had Lamb biryani on the buffet. SO SO good. The service is also attentive and courteous, and it's a family friendly place. One of the best Indian restaurants in the east end in my opinion!

Josh Pannell

Fantastic!

Omar Ignacio Silvestrini

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT FOOD Absolutely delicious Indian Food Lamb curry is my favorite But I love all of them

Dizinona

Enjoyed the food.

Kristie Bray

Have always had a positive and wonderful experience. Have tested multiple foods for gluten with Nima tester and all but onion chutney have came back gluten free. The staff are able to help with selection and it appears most are gluten free. Happy gluten free eating. Love the food, it’s so yummy.

puspa kafley

Great place for anybody who's in louisville area. Great music, great food, great customer service, and overall great atmosphere!

Jody Smith

Bryan Miller

The lunch buffet is reasonably priced and very good

Anne Rubina

Very poor service.. the waiter took a long time just to take down the order.. food quality not upto the mark.. would not suggest this place for anyone

Janice Lewis

First visit today. My grandson had the Jungle Kebob, my husband had Seekh (spelling?) Lamb Kebob and I had the Chicken Tikka Masala. It all was amazing. The flavors were so good. The onion Naan bread beyond delicious. The staff was so polite. I can't wait to go again.

Terri Shaikh

Sandeep Raja

Warm Service and Tasty Food! What more can you ask for for a pleasant evening. Do try this Indian place on a cozy corner of East Louisville. Your tastebuds will definitely agree to the food served here!

Avocado Klefot

We’ve been in for lunch here twice and both times were amazing. The staff remembered us on visit 2 and welcomed us with the warmest smiles and great service. The food was delicious both times. We’ll be back for sure.

Ali Wolfe

Authentic and delicious with very good service. The portions are huge! We really liked the way the food was served so you could share nore easily.

Tony Dougherty

I think we've eaten at every Indian place in Louisville over the past 10 years and this is one of the best. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming - as an example, last time I ordered carryout, as I was waiting the waiter gave me free coke. I didn't ask for it, he just offered it. We've had very good experience with the food too. Everything we've had has been excellent. Perhaps the only criticism is that the buffet doesn't have quite the selection of others in Louisville but it's all tasty.

Annette Jenkins

Tasty. Not a big buffet, but satisfying. The one thing I don't like is whatever they use to clean the tables with smells horrid. It's especially bad when you are taking a bite and taste the cleaner.

Jennifer Brunner

Had a really bad service experience. I called for a pickup order 10 minutes before they closed for lunch and said I was on my way between work and the restaurant (4 minute commute). I rarely get to eat here because they close so early for lunch and being in the restaurant business I don't usually get out in time. On this rare occasion, the man refused to take my order because he said the cooks wouldn't want an order so soon to lunch break. I responded by saying that he is technically still open and would still be open when I arrived. He said that didn't matter, which is the most disrespectful thing you can say to a customer. I then confirmed with him that he was denying a paying customer while he was still open. If someone had done this in my restaurant there would be definite recourse. You have just lost a customer.

Scotty Day

Went here for our anniversary. Our food was fantastic, wish the menu had a little better item description but it wasn't that big a deal. Friendly staff and we were seated as soon as we got there. The decor inside was nice as well.

Tonya Cabral

One of our favorite places. Food is delicious, the staff is always friendly, plenty of vegetarian options, and there is a lunch buffet weekdays.

Masihuddin Mohammed

Food was not fresh. The naan seemed like it was couple of days old.

thomas waggener

Love clay oven. The food is always fresh and well made.

Raghavendran Narasimhan

very nice north indian restaurant to enjoy there receipts with good taste..they make bread which is so soft compared to other folks.. breads i mean Naan, they do have some varieties to experience..

gyanu karki

Great Atmosphere, amazing food! Soft music while enjoying authentic Indian and Nepali food. Momo (Nepali dumpling) is a must try if you come here. The best place to have Indian dinner in Louisville. Very clean and friendly people, they have an exceptional customer service! If you are in Louisville, clay oven is the first place you need to stop by for dinner and lunch.

Cory Snyder

One of my favorite restaurants in Louisville! The chicken mahkni is my favorite dish and always cooked perfectly. The waiters provide great service and prices are very reasonable. Visit at least once a month because I can't get enough of this restaurant!

Bab M

visited this place with friends in the evening. A couple of tables were occupied. The waiter refused to give a table of our choice. Once we were finished, we were rushed to leave when there was hardly anyone waiting for the table. Also the waiter was complaining "Indian parents dont discipline their children. Indian children are worst behaved". A child had spilled a little food on the floor. Never seen such complaints at any restaurant. Food was ok. Moderate spice had "no spice or salt". Restaurant was clean though

Jason Woodlief

Great food. Great prices. Great service. I am a bit of a picky eater. The waiter noticed I was picking out the onions in my chicken and came over and offered to remake my food so I would bee happy. Of course I told them it wasn't necessary and continued too enjoy the great service.

Amy Barr

Quiet place. Excellent food and service. We will be back!

christopher feris

I was been this location first time that time was very good service and Luma welcoming me and my girlfriend that's way we back I am completely dissatisfied with customer service and waiter couple times i have been there. I will no longer be a customer at this establishment.

Katie VanMeter

Excellent food and service. I will definitely be back and will bring my friends! Only recommendation is a biryani option during the lunch buffet.

bala E krisha

Nice

Erik Solce

Excellent lunch buffet with great atmosphere and presentation. Wonderful staff and some of the best Indian food in town. I used to work nearby and would stop by regularly.

ASHISH JAIN

Worst food ever..rice hard musty leftover curry. .almost raw naan.. Unhygienic Not recommended

Kristal Ball

Great little restaurant. The lamb rogan josh will change your life.

Justin Bischoff

Not that great, don't normally complain. Naan was "floppy", masala sauce was bland, and crunched into a couple of small bones in the veal. Didn't accept my coupon from cash book.

Guneet Singh Banwait

Being from San Francisco with a zillion indian restaurants. i must admit . this is the Best Indian food I've had in a long time. my short trip turned out to be well lit. . Suraj is just awesome . give it a try. no regrets guaranteed.

Perry Collins

Alexx Fluhr

Great buffet!

Vicky Lee

If you're looking for authentic flavors of the Himalayas, Clay Oven nails it. All of their food is painstakingly prepared and beautifully presented to please their guests to ensure their return, and they do so effortlessly. Be sure to request low sodium as their food has become incredibly salty - not recommended for those hoping to lose weight or on a sodium restricted diet. They hold a special place in my heart because they are so incredibly service-dog friendly, unlike so many places here in Kentucky. Unlike Shalimar, their portions are generous and more than satisfying. We prefer the buffet because of the outstanding variety and quality although the sit-down dinners are excellent. I would be happier without the TV's in the restaurant - I feel it had much more ambiance when the screens showed images of the Himalayas, Nepal & India but apparently they were forced to keep up with demands. The quiet volume of the Indian classical music was always enjoyable and very relaxing. I cannot say enough about the owner, cook and wait staff - their kindness, service, willingness to please, friendliness and professionalism are top-shelf. Thank you, Arif!

BRIAN KIM

30 minute drive to be disappointed in the food.

Lisa Stuart

Zhi Wong

Best Indian in town! Try the lamb vindaloo it's excellent!

Ori Schurr

Very good food, friendly staff, it's definitely our go to Indian food in the East end

Pamela McNaughton

Wonderful buffet

Jesse Decker

I have never been a huge fan of Indian food, but when I crave it, I always want Tikka Masala and Gulab Jamun. Friend of ours suggested this place, and glad we tried it. It's very quiet and cozy, staff are very friendly, food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. The tikka masala was on point, the gulab jamun was "rot your teeth" sweet as it should be, and the naan perfectly cooked. Would like to see butter chicken on the buffet but overall no complaints. Will go back for sure.

Phil The Thrill

Holy cow, their weekend lunch buffet was killer. Delicious with good vegetarian options

Eric Ribenboim

Joshua Havens

The lunch buffet was fresh and the dishes were flavorful. The place was clean and service was attentive. I really enjoyed all the items on the buffet. The goat was outstanding compared to other buffets. Not rubbery at all. I will be going back.

Mich

I felt extremely uncomfortable and I was not treated as fairly as the other people I attended with. Save your money and do not go to this restaurant. The food isn't that good to sit through the blatant disrespect and judging glances. ***As a response to your "apology"...no, screw you guys, I will never go back there ever again. First off, I was never a regular so your attempt at making me think you "know me" and actually care has failed. And "...you'll be ours again". No. Stop. That's just creepy. You say that all of your customers are equal but that was not the case when I was there with my friends. If you're the manager that served me, which I believe you are, you pressured me into buying an entree when I was fine with only getting my appetizer and were rude enough to actually ask if I was going to "get anything else", as if my order wasn't enough. You offered "us" some free cucumber sauce but really you were only offering it to my friends. I never received eye contact from you. I decided to cave in and buy an entree from your restaurant and I felt rushed the whole time I was trying to order. When giving us our checks, you gave both my friends stamp cards for your restaurant and while explaining how they worked, you were once again ONLY talking to my friends, not to me. Which I guess I can understand, since you didn't give me one. When leaving, you failed to acknowledge both my friend who sat next to me and I. You did not say thank you or bye to us, only my friend who sat across from us. I was disrespected and I will never give my money to your restaurant ever again and I will encourage anyone I come across to never go as well. Have a good day! :)

Carmen Krause

Clean place, Excellent food, & polite staff. Their lunch buffet is really good too!

Timesha Moore

I'm a regular here and I can't complain. The food is amazing, the service is good, and I enjoy using their online pickup service.

Nagaraj Sollapur

Food was just ok. Very bland food. Not a single item was spicy. The Americanized version of Indian food.

Dennis Horn

Excellent Indian cuisine with a variety of dishes on a well-manged buffet. Love it!

Justin Shircliff

This is probably my favorite Indian restaurant in Louisville. The atmosphere is nice, the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. I always go for the Aloo Gobi and it never disappoints.

Raj

Good food quality good service waiter Vinod sir to friendly

Angela Benefiel

The food is delicious and I love the healthiness of it as well.

Winnie

Good Indian food. I was pleasantly surprised by the food, considering this was a random Indian restaurant we found next to Kroger. I especially liked the saag paneer.

Craig Ellis

If you want Indian food in Louisville, this is the place. I’ve never been disappointed.

Emily Tatum

Great food. Was a bit confused upon walking in. Took a bit to be greeted and seated. After being seated the gentleman left us for a good 10 minutes - we had no idea what to do with it being our first time to an Indian buffet. The gentleman was nice but we we just felt lost. The food was worth it. I'm happy to become a regular here.

Mark Koenig

Was very good , 1st time I had been there and I really enjoyed it

Mushfiqur Rahman

Probably the best Indian restaurant I have eaten in Louisville. If you haven't try their weekend buffet then you should try. They have lots of variety.

Mithila Kunder

We Ordered 1. Chai 2. Paneer Burji 3. Garlic Nann 4. Dal Makhni Chai that we ordered was so amazing that it remembered me of “Tapri wali chai from Mumbai” Paneer Bhurji , Garlic Naan and Dal Makhni was amazing and awesome. We visited this place just by looking into its comments and ratings and definitely worth eating here… Me and my friends are planning a trip soon to this place again…. Best place to have authentic Indian Food!

Bob Lowrey

Delicious buffet! A typical Sunday staple for me and my wife. Great selection of foods, with a few items that you don't see at other buffets in the city. Friendly staff as well.

Pen Waggener

One of my favorite restaurants in town for this style food. The buffet is always satisfying, but I've been far more impressed with items I've ordered from the menu, both eat-in and carryout. Dishes can have a sublime, super spicy heat when requested.

Kim Laun

Fantastic restaurant, one of our favorites. We come here a couple times a month. The staff is super kind and friendly. They also offer take out which is nice. I love everything I have tried here. It's authentic and very fresh food. The food also comes out very quick and is always delicious. We will keep coming back. It's a must try if you not been here yet.

Bernadette Cordero

This place always amazing!

christy jayne

My favorite Indian restuarant. Service is always top of the line and food is fantastic! Restuarant is always clean and well maintained ! Highly recommended !

Remington Crawford

Very good Indian buffet. A little bland, but solid flavor nonetheless.

Eric Jones

Very good Indian food. Tastes a little different than your usual middle Indian places, probably due to the Nepali influence but I always enjoy!

Muan Pi

Great place! Enjoyed the atmosphere. The restroom needs so upgrade though. The food was delicious

Kevin M. Lloyd

Nice atmosphere. The staff is very nice and the food is out of this world

Trina Phillips
