This Restaurant belongs to the category of American restaurant.
Best. Breakfast Sandwich. Ever. Combo of egg, pimento cheese, bacon and generous avocado - absolutely delicious! Great price point too.
Really great restaurant. Enjoying this beautiful place was an experience. Prepared to perfection. Staff members were very friendly. Very nice!
Great breakfast sandwichs ... a little on the pricey side but definitely will be back!
It's pretty good. Food is excellent. Service is good. Staff is friendly. It's a sandwich place for folks with a little extra money.
Great service, food was very good
Small and cozy place with a very clean atmosphere. The breakfast sandwich is awesome.
Had an smoked salmon sandwich on rye
Great breakfast sandwich and coffee. Skip the sh!tty Holliday in breakfast and come here for good coffee and egg sandwich. If I’m feeling generous I’ll get a couple breakfast sandwiches for the other flight crew for the cargo flight to Asia. Lunch Sammie’s are good too.
Delicious food and coffee, fantastic place for breakfast on a nice day!
My boyfriend decided to go here because City Beat named there breakfast sandwich the best in Ohio. I got that doctored a bit and he got a Turkey. Both were average. And expensive for average.
A beautiful gem in downtown, it is kind of off by itself on the far eastside, but boy is it great. Great ingredients, the sandwiches are pretty big, and the coffee is really good. Love this place and look forward to coming back next time I am in Cincinnati.
Fresh, bright space with a fresh, bright menu. The hipster vibe from staff isn't super welcoming, but it's an eat n leave kinda place.
A little confusing from a service side of things. It somewhat operates like a QSR. Food was good and so was the coffee. I would return
Love this place. Definitely a little jewel in Cincinnati.
I ordered the chorizo egg sandwich and it was very good, as well as the other pics of the food looks good too. But the service is terrible. I stood at the register for 4 mins before even being acknowledged by anyone then a guy by the kitchen said we'd be help shortly. All the while the lady who works at the front, who was closer to us than he was, never said anything or stopped what she was doing to help. We sat there for another min or so when the phone rang and the lady answered the phone in our face and continued to service the people on the phone while we sat there still waiting. The guy from the back finally came up to help us. His excuse for the wait was there was a disturbance in the kitchen. Idc.. customers waiting IN PERSON are always 1st priority.
Flawless pour over. Perfect chorizo sandwich. Containing the crumbly chorizo within a thin omelette is a next level move. Breakfast goals.
Nice, minimalist breakfast place located near the outer edge of downtown. They have a limited menu but seems to have a wide range of flavors though. I got the chorizo and egg sandwich which was good but I saw the challah french toast being served and can say I already know what I'll order next time. They also serve alcohol if that's what you're interested in getting. Would be a nice place to grab a coffee and study on a weekday too.
The egg and Chorizo sandwich is arguably the best sandwich I’ve eaten since my visit to the Noble Pig in Austin two years ago - truly spectacular. Cheapside has a beautiful, clean aesthetic. But, there is almost a strange tension in the place - almost bordering on hostile. I felt like I was in an episode of Portlandia where Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein open a chic foodery staffed by actively disinterested hipster millennial archetypes. It’s weird. My advice to management - staff with people that are engaged, capable of smiling, and know how to respond to a thank you from customer. Eye contact helps too.
It's too expensive for what you get. Was not worth it for me.
A breakfast mainstay. Consistently good, fresh, prepared to order. Coffee is on point and executed correctly. Their filter coffee, is actually brewed Chemex in a vacuum pot, and they offer it with refills if ordered. Yes, it's a moody place, but does it matter? Pro-tip, get the Chorizo on multi-grain. Try some of their in-house hot sauce.
Great food, cheap price. On that merit, I will give 5 stars. The review below from the poster talking about being judgmental is correct: this place definitely judges you if you dress modern and don't look like an under-employed lumberjack. I dress well, too, and am treated like an outcast. The cashier needs to act like he is happy to see customers. Just because people do well and dress well, we are deserving of less service? Maybe the elitist hippies can be more welcome.
Good food, friendly people
What I ordered was good, but the menu is extremely limited and vegan/vegetarian.
One of the brightest spots in downtown for breakfast or lunch. Definitely put this place on your short list of Must visit places. My wife and I love going here. The creme brulee oatmeal is RIDICULOUS, and the coffee is superb. Every time we visit the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We love the crispness of the white decor and the place is always lively and FULL of natural light! What Joe and his team have accomplished here is a real testament to their passion for community and bringing people together around food. There was nothing really contributing to the food scene at this part of the city until Cheapside arrived, and we have been grateful for it ever since!
Had some nice soup and an artisan grilled cheese here, but a little pricey for what I ordered. Nice outdoor seating section and good coffee.
Please someone eternal sunshine their smoked salmon sandwich out of my brain.
...great coffee, nice contemporary cafe decoration
Pretty great stuff but lacking when it comes to veggie
Small overpriced portions. Staff was not helpful or friendly.
Lovely little spot with great food and a variety of coffee options.
The food is great! I love the smoked salmon sandwich. Great coffee backed up with friendly fast service.
This is one of my favorite places for breakfast or lunch downtown. French toast is absolutely amazing and it's worth the trip just to have it! They have great service, great ambiance and a great location!
This place is great. Get one of their breakfast sandwiches.
I love tis place. has a great look and vibe. the food is amazing. I come here for lunch a few times a month.
Loved the outdoor area and my hot chocolate and French toast were devine! Can't wait to go back!
This is just a delightfully offbeat place. The food is wonderful as is the service. Love the teepee on the patio.
Not exactly cheap... but a yummy place to eat with a decent selection of hot or cold Sammy's if you're on your way to the dreaded 800 Broadway building... you poor soul
Pretty good. Serving sizes are totally appropriate so if you're starving be prepared for that. I went for breakfast. French toast and salmon sandwhich were very good. Not amazing but very good. I also had a beet latte which was sweeter than I wanted but delicious and very pretty. Can't wait to go back and try the salads
A preferred place for tasty american food. It's so tasty. Next time I'll be back with my coworkers.
New to Cincinnati, and my visit was awesome. I’m from New England, and this experience included a lot similar aspects of city life, but less stressful than Boston, NYC, and Philly. This cafe was awesome in customer service, great food, and unlimited in-house refills for a reasonable price. The vibe and location is great. Parking is surprisingly excellent. Our waitress was really nice and accommodating. Def recommend!
I would not recommend this cafe. The menu is limited and overpriced. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and my egg was not cooked. Not only was the white runny but my egg still had clear liquid. Gross!! Nothing comes with the sandwiches (like chips or fruit). Also parking is a pain in the butt.
This place is cozy. Seating is first come, first served. Food was just okay. Nothing special about the coffee or tea either. It seems very hipster.
Great taste comes from good ingredients
Grabbed a quick bite for breakfast while visiting from out of town. It's adorable, fresh food and crafted coffee. White washed barn wood bar and an industrial floor was used to make the tables, shows the current tend in decor.
Must try the French Toast!
Great brunch location. Popped in around 11:30 and the tables were all full but the window bar and lunch counter were all clear. Good price for delicious food. Highly recommend the coffee!
Ok, but not my favorite Breakfast place
Sweet little coffee shop, small distinct menu. Food was delicious, coffee was fabulous. Definitely hipster though, so try not to show any emotions while visiting.
Ok. So Cheapside is a tough place to figure out. Sometimes the wait staff seems totally disinterested in your presence and even a little put out. Other times, they are friendly and attentive even offering samples of their latest drip. The atmosphere is a little cold for a place that serves comfort food and it often feels as is they've put form over function to a fault. So why four stars? The food, my friend, the food. Their tomato soup is unreal, the chorizo sandwich is scrumptious and their french toast is extravagant. The pulled pork is also worth a try. Oh, and the coffee I mentioned earlier is top notch. It would be a shame to let a couple of apathetic waiters keep you away. Oh, and to Cheapside itself: get a better system for running food, numbers or something.
This is one of my favorite places for breakfast or lunch downtown. Very environmentally conscious and the food is incredibly tasty! Interesting mix of people, too - lots of hipsters combined with courthouse personnel and lawyers.
Laid back, and chill. The sandwiches are to die for. Seems like a the type of place you could read a book at for hours.
Great food and atmosphere. Kinda thought it was weird that the staff heavily rolled their Rs when they spoke but to each their own
The only problem with Cheapside is that it's not down the street from where I live. I wanna live here. Drinks, food, service, and atmosphere are all perfect.
I've only had the breakfast sandwich because it's so good. My husband has had the French toast and it was also awesome. It is very hipster in appearance but don't let that scare you off. Only cons was there were no refills on coffee unless you paid twice the price and we both thought it was a little bitter.
One of the coolest places downtown. Good espresso and the best chorizo egg sandwiched I've ever had! Interior is super hip and nice little patio.
Incredible restaurant! I love this hidden gem. The food is awesome and atmosphere is relaxed. Highly recommend!
It's a nice spot. It's fun to watch Cincinnati Hipsters sip coffee in a space where they think they look good. Selfies abound.
Good spot for a quick Saturday breakfast. The coffee is good. The breakfast sandwich is very good.
Great place for brunch and coffee! The breakfast sandwich and tomato soup is an amazing combo!
Always good
been in a few times, always great food. however yesterday i couldnt help noticing a cook in the back coughing with what i can only assume was the plague. knocking off one star for risk of an outbreak.
Greatest sandwich shop downtown!! First class owners and employees. They couldn’t have been any nicer
cheapside is super cute, the staff are nice, and the food is so good. we ordered the turkey sandwich and french toast. the coffee was really good too! only negative is that someone was cleaning the stools with a super stinky cleaning solution. I'll definitely go back!
I’ve always enjoyed my visits to cheapside. Great food and drinks, reasonable prices, and great staff. If you haven’t been - make sure to stop in.
When I arrived there was only one other customer. The person taking my order did not look me in the eyes or smile. I sat at the bar by the open kitchen. No one said another word. I received sour coffee and a overwhelming salty smoked salmon sandwich. I may have overlooked them being quiet if the cook and server were not extremely friendly to each other. There are many other better options downtown.
This place is a little on the cheap side. Just kidding. I couldn't resist. After studying the simple menu written on the wall, I decided to order a muffaletta. The order taker asked me if I wanted chips. Sure. For some reason, I was not offered a drink. And I didn't even think of a drink until I got my sandwich. But I thought, meh, I'll save the buck or two. On my way out, I did notice glasses and water on a table, like maybe I was supposed to pour my own water? It is Cheapside after all. I dunno. Anyway, I sat, and within 5 minutes my muffaletta was brought to my table. It was good. Very good. All in all, a pleasant experience. And good food. Reasonable prices. My muffaletta and a bag of chips was $11.78.
Always great food and hot coffee. One of downtown's best
The food was delicious!! Not cheap though, but not horribly expensive! I will eat there again
Amazing breakfast! If you go with the French toast, add diced green apples. Wonderful staff.
Cute, rustic little place with modern flairs. Not a ton of options on the menu but the smoked salmon sandwich was delicious, albeit a bit on the salty side. Staff was very nice and service was quick.
Quaint cafe with great service. The food was delicious and presented nicely. I enjoyed the latte art and outdoor seating. If you can, try to sit at the table under the wooden cone. It gives you a bit of shade and let’s you see the city. Great vibes and cool place.
Reasonably priced and good food. Nice relaxed atmosphere.
Very good food; I got the smoked salmon sandwich. Service was friendly, but it took a while to get my food (I went during a busy lunch rush so it was partially my fault). Neat ambiance and I liked the outdoor seating
Food was a bit odd. Trying to be e like a fancy Bistro or something. Probably won't go back.
Had the Chorizo and Egg sandwich and French Toast. Food wasn't well seasoned. Sandwich was sweet which didn't sit well with our pallets. Chorizo, we thought, had more of a spicy flare. French toast was more cakey than like toast. The green tea smelled like lake water and tasted like green beans. Maybe that's what New age fair is supposed to taste like, but honestly I'll take greasy fat riddled food over healthy food that smells like lake water. The up side was the French toast had a large serving size. And the area was open, though if it had been winter and kids were there, it might spoil the experience since it is a very close quarter but open type restaurant. The place didn't suit our pallets but other that might want more healthier choices might like it.
Nice place expensive for lunch.
Salad was absolutely delicious! First time there.
Best breakfast sandwich ever!
Classy Cali-like Coffee shop with food. Nice selection of coffee, both espresso and pour over. Food menu is limited in terms of selection but very tasty. If you like/require "fake" sugar, bring your own- they don't have any.
Charming little cafe with small but yummy food, all day breakfast items, salads and sandwiches. Cute little patio with picnic tables to eat al fresco.
Love the all white design something very relaxing about it.
Cheapside is one of the best low- key lunch spots in Cincinnati. The service is so friendly, the coffee is delicious and I've never gotten a dish I didn't like. The curry chicken salad is ridiculous
Great coffee and friendly helpful staff.
Great food in a modern setting. Staff is a delight. Great for quick bites or longer social meals.
Really tasty food and nice atmosphere, but kinda small portions for the price.
Great place to eat brunch...high quality food, good price. Enjoyed my fried egg sandwich with pimento cheese. I will be sure to return for that...the coffee is great too!
Great breakfast sandwich and chemex!
The pimento breakfast sandwich with a gooey egg is ddddddannnnkkk #dogfriendly
Love this place and the people are so friendly i keep coming back
Great egg sandwich for $6. Sit outside, and watch the sea of cars move around 10mph. It's relaxing and dog friendly patio.
Delicious and very reasonably priced!
The chorizo breakfast sandwich is delicious. You can't go wrong with the French toast either.
Fun restaurant great service great ambience
The best breakfast sandwiches i have ever had! The coffee is so good too! The service was quick and plenty of space to sit and eat. Super hip place to catch a quick breakfast!
Great coffee good breakfast sandwich ,
This place will treat you well and serve you well.!!!! The food is flavorful, as well as the crew. This is really one of favorite local restaurants. This place is amazing to have breakfast and the people are super nice. I would love to visit this place again and try the other things in their menu as well. I highly recommend eating here.
Grabbed a quick bite for breakfast while visiting from out of town. It's adorable, fresh food and crafted coffee. White washed barn wood bar and an industrial floor was used to make the tables, shows the current tend in decor.
True Cali-Hipster vibe with great coffee/lattes and pretty decent food. A bit overpriced but still a great place for brunch.
at first I was a little bummed there weren't more flavored lattes because I was in the mood for some sugary floral nonsense, but I got a plain almond milk latte and it was phenomenal. really great espresso. and what they lacked in sugary syrups, they made up for with the sweetest service. this was one of the friendliest coffee shops I've ever visited.
Good, laid back, easy breakfast. Outdoor seating available.
Place is hip but not that good. Chorizo breakfast sandwich tastes like chili and I don't like chili and eggs for breakfast. The normal breakfast sandwich is average. Won't come back but glad I tried it.
The good: The breakfast sandwiches were good and the water was cold. They had an interesting assortments of hot sauces... The ghost and the Death Star were both pretty hot. The bad: -PARKING!!! The isn't any at 1030am. May not be a problem if you work downtown but it will keep me from ever going back. - The tomato soup was definitely tomato. - The bathroom floor was slippery and I didn't see anything on the floor that would make it that way... be careful in there.
Great place for breakfast and lunch. Can't go wrong with the breakfast sandwich or the smoked salmon sandwich and coffee from Woodburl out of Dayton. ....Try the house made hot sauces...
Real good foods
Sweet little coffee shop, small distinct menu. Food was delicious, coffee was fabulous. Definitely hipster though, so try not to show any emotions while visiting.
I liked Cheapside so much I went twice in 5 days! The first time I went I split their turkey sandwich and their breakfast sandwich. All of their ingredients were super fresh. The turkey sandwich was very good and had lots of flavor. While the breakfast sandwich left me wanting for more. It's not a super large or robust sandwich, but was decent! My first time there I will say that none of the water glasses seemed very clean. Upon bringing this to one of the employees attention they quickly got me a new, clean glass. They also removed the other glasses from the table too. Minor hiccup.
Always great food here. Breakfast sandwiches are the best and the coffee is fresh, they are always making pour overs for the thirsty people lined up out the door.
Very nice place! The servers are very kind and the food is very good! i've come to find that this is my favorite spot in the city for breakfeast! The coffee is to die for!!! The pour over coffee is my favorite as of now. My girlfriend got the mocha and said she loved it! If you're looking for a big meal i reccomend the french toast. The french toast is the largest meal they have. The most popular is an egg sandwhich. The egg sanwhich is prettty good, but i reccomend choosing something else, so you get a real taste of the restraunt. I really reccomend Cheapside! if you're in the area be sure to check it out! And sit outside :) they have very nice seating.
They offer a delicious breakfast sandwich and their grilled cheese and tomato soup is a great lunch.
Good sandwich. Seating is a little cramped.
I eat here possibly like once a month, sometimes I'll even get it delivered via 53t courier. I *crave* their breakfast sandwich constantly and I always get it with pickled red onions added (need that acid, baby). Friendly staff (although some are a little too cool). I like that I can bring my dog in, even very briefly, to order and then I can sit with him outside on their cute patio. All in all it's a great place for breakfast and I recommend it often.
Fresh coffee and I always get the nicoise salmon salad. Yay artichokes! Supposedly a bangin' burger occasionally bit I have never made it on burger day. Pricey...but great quality and cool environment. Outdoor seating.
Great food! Great coffee! Great atmosphere! Don't expect it to be cheap though. More like trendy and pricey...think hipster hangout. Kids liked it too, though the menu is not especially kid friendly. Recommended if you are looking for some great food at a unique place.
The staff is so kind and they make you feel very comfortable. The food is very good! I fully recommend the French toast!
Amazing place. I stopped in with my wife and 2 kids (7 and 4) on our way back to TN. Their food is amazing and came out really fast. A lot better than a fast food stop. The staff was helpful with helping us order stuff for our kids. Must stop in!
Cute spot with OK food, trendy menu but never really hits the spot for lunch
Nice breakfast. Really good coffee!
Mixed results - staying at a hotel nearby, I ate here twice. I enjoyed the muffuletta (4 stars) a little small but tasty. 2nd visit breakfast sandwich was rather tasteless and again small, and the coffee which was unlimited was hardly even warm, so I didn't even ask for a second cup. Sad thing is I'll be back to this hotel and I highly doubt I'll come back here.
Try the grilled cheese! Different but delish!
The service was quick and the food was okay. I ordered the breakfast sandwich without the bacon, it didn’t have a lot of seasoning but overall was prepared well. If you don’t like your eggs runny, request this sandwich with a hard egg.
Very hipster type of place but the foods good (i like their bacon/turkey sandwich and salmon salad). I do wish they had more drink and coffee options though. Also for those not aware they are only open to 3pm.
I've been to Cheapside (CS) twice now and loved it both times! I have tried both the Chorizo + Egg sandwich (pictured) and the Smoked Salmon sandwich. Both sandwiches were absolutely delicious; I had the pleasure of helping my mom finishes hers! If you are a small to medium size eater, these sandwiches are very filling. The atmosphere of CS is very nice and the staff members are nice. Food comes out fairly quickly as well.
Place is terrible. I have pretty much the same review as others. The people running the place are very rude. Wouldn't even look at me or resins to a thank you. Kept staring at me the whole time with this look like "When are you going to leave". But when a hipster comes in acting goofy with wild hair and a funny look , they are treated like gold. I guess being a hipster place and me being in uniform as law enforcement didn't help me any in a place like this. I'll never go back. Very uncomfortable setting
Very cool place...very hipster. Best French toast our family has ever had. Super friendly staff and welcoming to our family of five.
Always great food Never a long wait Pour over is awesome
amazing oatmeal and great iced coffee
The food was tasty, but extremely overpriced. There also were not many "traditional" options, so picky eaters would most likely not enjoy cheapside. The atmosphere was overall nice and they have an interesting wooded teepee that you can eat in outside, which is neat.
Really good breakfast sandwich. Good lunch items. Don't be fooled by the name. This place is not super expensive but it isn't cheap.
Delicious food familiar to my San Francisco coffee shop taste. Good for working, meeting someone, or just chatting up the local artist scene
One of Cincinnati's hidden gems. Great food.
Clean, sleek, minimalist trendy environment and great food choices and coffee! Smaller, non frenetic environment and the added plus of charming outside eating area!
Great food/coffee/espresso. Incredible design and atmosphere. Great experience. However, virtually no hospitality from the staff.
Great breakfast options.
Great coffee, costumer friendly
Great coffee. Amazing chorizo and egg sandwich
Great place for breakfast options and coffee. I enjoyed my first visit and I intend to come back.
Nice little restaurant near the casino. Get here quickly or you will be waiting for a seat.
I love cheapside, especially there breakfast sandwich. Great little cafe on the eastern side of downtown.
The garlic hot pickles and olives were fabulous
Great food!! Great staff!! Thanks for making my hometown that much better!!
The food was good, but not cheap -- well, maybe for the area it was. Parking in the area was crazy and also expensive -- 25 cents for 5 minutes.
Coffee is great, food is even better!
Amazing little breakfast and lunch place. Can’t say much more than what has already been said.
Great coffee, great food. The curry chicken salad sandwich, Nicoise salad, French toast, and pulled pork sandwich are all good. Overall fresh, healthy items. Nice clean aesthetic and atmosphere.
Fantastic food and coffee. Breakfast and lunch, espresso drinks and pour over coffee from local and guest roasters, and really great open seating and outdoor space. It's kind of like eating inside a Pinterest board.
Food was great coffee was ok.
Great food, cool environment, and helpful staff.
Literally the best smoked salmon sandwich ever!
