You will see all the opinions of real people like you who consume the products and services of Bristol Bar & Grille Downtown (Restaurant) in Kentucky.
At the present the firm receives a score of 4.1 out of 5 and that score has been calculated on 569 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is positive, and it is founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can say that the rating is very reliable. If there are many people who bothered to give their score when they are happy, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to set opinions when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is included in the category of Bar & grill.
Nice staff. No tables without a reservation so we sat at the bar. Many senior students dressed for prom and people going to a show nearby. Though busy, service time was very reasonable. Food was good. My husbands was perfect.
Good food and friendly service. Really enjoyed our meal!
Food was good. Good service. Always consistent.
Always great!
For us service was slow, but others where going faster. We're not sure why.
Slow service during lunch time and the food options I've had, (the salmon burger and salad) were frankly disgusting and overpriced. If you want to be late going back to the office with an empty stomach, Bristol is your place.
Place is nice but the food is just average. Definitely skip "Brad's Chicken Sandwich" during lunch. It was a small over breaded breast.
Good food nice place slow service.
Below average service, Average food, missing hospitality and southern charm that I was expecting. Disappointed with $40+ lunch for two. Felt like they were just going through the motions. I did hear other waitresses that were just starting that were much more personable. One appealing feature was the build-your-own Bloody Mary bar, but I did not partake.
EXCELLENT BRUNCH! 2nd time here and it was as delicious as the last time. Fried chicken is amazing. A tad disappointed there was no mac and cheese this time...
Appetizers were a hit!
Service was good, food was edible. Nothing fantastic.
Wide variety of drinks nice seating from one to 200
Very nice atmosphere, food (brunch) was good. Would have liked a better assortment and quality of desserts. Overall nice experience.
The thai stir fry was amazing
Good food fast and efficient.
Nice casual dining restaurant in downtown Louisville, close to the museums. Good service. Menu includes well-prepared variety of options.
Nice ambience. Warm and friendly staff. Amazing food!
A Louisville and Bardstown Road landmark. Low key understated elegance is an antidote for all the trendy establishments on the L'ville dining scene. Everything I've ever tried on the menunu is good. The beer sampler is a favorite.
Always great service.
Horribly slow. We sat outside. Our waitress was at least 20 mins to get our drink order. The drinks to another 30 mins to get to our table. The service did not improve. Even though we were thanked for being patient. This was at 2:30 PM. The place was not busy.
Great food, great service
Amazing experience. We are here for Thanksgiving to change it up a little. After initially being a little leary, we were set down immediately (with a reservation-get that in already 1-2 weeks early) and proceeded to the buffet area. The food and spread was awesome, great dishes traditional and several with a clear flare influence by the chef. We will do this again, clean up was a snap fro a change
Awesome Sunday brunch
Nice restaurant. Inside or outside seating. Food and service was good.
Very nice bar with useful bourbon flights. Excellent service. Hot Brown was tasty, if non-traditional.
The Bristol is the best! We have held our planning meetings for the Fight for Air Climb with the American Lung Association there for every season. They are beyond helpful and courteous. And you can get a voucher for free parking in the garage behind it!!
Great food and great service. The only thing I would change would be the bread. It was a little hard and crunchy. But I have already recommended this place to others.
I moved to Loo uh vhl in 1977...the Bristol has been a part of my life ever since...great food and drinks!
Love coming here before a concert or play, because we can park at the Ky Center for the performing Arts & walk over for dinner. We are never disappointed in the food or service. Prices are moderate. We like that many items are locally sourced. The rolls are great!
Southern fried chicken was amazing. Located in between Louisville slugger and Evan Williams.
Stopped for a late lunch. Good service and good food. They were using a manual floor sweeper nearby to clean up following the main lunch rush. It was crazy loud and pretty distracting for our conversation.
Terrible presentation on the food. My hamburger bun looked like a fried green tomato. The server was dirty and sloppy. When he gave me the check the little black book had water and food particles on it. However, if you want to pay for politeness, which they did have, 55 dollars for an appetizer and two meals is all u need.
Excellent food and customer service
There for lunch. Reasonable price, good fish sandwich, great service.
Trust me when I say there are few things better than their green chili wontons. They are worth a trip by themselves!
The place that made green chili wontons a thing!!! Service staff is always on point and knowledgeable not just about the menu and bar selection but are wonderful ambassadors of the city. Very helpful in making suggestions for things to do …
My favorite restaurant in all of Louisville. Doug is a special guy. His employees love him. The food is always great. The atmosphere is always great. The house dressing is to die for. Get the bread.
Grest food
Horrible experience all around. Came in around 7 this Thursday. At at the bar. Bar tender was inattentive most of the night. Odd, because it was slow. Guess my presence wasn't important. Brought out a wilted salad that had the texture of rubber. I made a comment to him about not being able to eat it...he just said sorry, and never offered to replace it. The salmon I ordered was ok, but had a burnt flavor. The broccoli was cold and had no season, let alone salt. The only good thing was the Tito's. Won't be back.
OMG the greens are absolutely amazing. Like my granny is in the kitchen. Plus the grit cakes to die for. I would suggest this super classy place to any date night couple or even family.
3 words... Green Chile Wontons!
Great service, great food.. really enjoyed to atmosphere and beer selection!
I enjoyed the food. The servers were excellent. They made everyone comfortable. They were professional and friendly. Everything we ask for was provided without hesitation.
It has gone downhill
Sunday brunch buffet was amazing. Dinner tonight was disappointing.
Good for a nice affordable lunch downtown. Make sure you try the sweet chili wontons.
The food and service were good and the prices were reasonable.
Good food, good service
Had the country fried chicken with mashed potatoes and greens. IT WAS AMAZING!
The portions are small and the food is very mediocre. Steak was a bit over cooked, and the poor lava cake was almost unedible. The atmosphere was nice, and it proximity to downtown attractions is very handy. Other than that, they don't have much to offer. It was a disappointing meal over all.
Salmon burgers with fennel sauce had a very good flavor. My husband enjoyed his Cobb salad. Waiteress was very nice and very good.
Very good service, parking was great in the 6th street garage.
great food. if dining in large group at lunch be sure to make reservation & allow plenty of time.
Reservations required. They get you in & out quickly for events. The crab cakes were small & tasteless. They needed a little zip.
Upscale atmosphere convenient location and solid selection from their menu. Service was slow, due to understaffing, but hey when you're just hanging with some friends it's all good, albeit a bit pricey.
Very good service and food was tasty
Was in town for a bit and decided to stop for dinner. They were slow - not many tables yet it took them almost two hours for us to order, get our meal and pay. Went without refills for a while. Orders came out backwards and wrong. Expensive with average food. Waitress seemed frustrated and unenthusiastic. Probably the worst high-end restaurant in downtown Louisville. Save your money!
It's time to make some changes on there menu, just make sure you keep the green chilli wontons
The service staff was very attentive and friendly. The pricing was reasonable and the food selection was pretty good.
I really enjoyed the cocktails! The food was ok
Great food and service
I am shocked this place isn’t a 5 star. 5 of us went for lunch. Very reasonable prices, great staff, cool atmosphere, great food. No complaints on anything we were served. Food presentation superb. It was like fine dining food and presentment with 1980’s prices. Definitely worth a try if in the area. Not farm from slugger museum.
A little pricy for the amount of food ! But good.
Food was not good service was slow
great foof, quick service
I went here on my birthday which was a big mistake. I ordered the “aged” New York strip steak, which was probably aged by sitting it in the back of the fridge for a month. The whole meal lacked any seasoning and by lacking it had zero. I had to douse the meal with the pre bought sauce that was provided to get it down. My girlfriend’s meal was much of the same. She got the fried chicken and was having to use the sauce that came with my meal to provide it with any flavor. So if you think about going here don’t, go to McDonald’s instead. You can at least get a meal with seasoning there. 06/21/2019
This place was good, not mind blowing but the service was acceptable and the food pleasing. The bourbon list was extensive. They have a nice outdoor patio, that was quiet and easy to have a conversation. Street parking was easy and free after 6pm.
Ordered the makers mark steak dinner. Cooked perfectly! The cabbage soup was a suprising delight, be sure to try it.
Went to the Bristol downtown for a mystery dinner . a whodunit production. loved it! Between acts actors came to table in costumed character you were permitted to ask questions to help you solve the mystery. You had a selection of 5 meals. The ones we had were very good. Salad, meal , Dessert. Will go back!!
Food was great and it was resonably priced. The service was awesome. I recommend the hot brown it is a delicious local dish.
Great spot downtown. Chris was out bartender and was creating some fantastic cocktails for us. Our indecisiveness prompted him to get creative and every thing he made turned out great! The food is always good as well.
Great food. Super helpful staff. Pointed out a bunch of fun, free places to take the kiddos while we were in town.
A true Louisville original. Excellent bourbon selection. This place is go to restaurants for business meetings downtown
Very nice. Great food, Great service for a wedding rehearsal dinner we were a part of!
Great food and atmosphere
I had Sunday brunch at this restaurant and the server Caitlyn charged my card for someones order. I understand accidents happen but when I called and talked to a manager they did not see that this was problem. Just wanted to give the warning to anyone who eats here to make sure that you check your bank statement cause this seems to be a problem that happens often.
We came here to eat during Breeder's Cup weekend so I'm assuming the restaurant was slightly more busy than it would be during a regular weekend. Service was not the best, we waited quite a while to place drink orders, receive our drinks, and place/receive our food orders. Drinks were not re-filled very quickly. However, our waitress frequently apologized for the service and it was obvious that she was pretty busy. She gave a small discount off the tab to make up for the service. Everyone enjoyed their food, especially the pork chop. I personally ate the shrimp stir fry and it was good. Overall it was a good experience.
We actually asked for it to go...? Christina was wonderful & accommodating! She told us about all the entrees which made our choosing alot easier being the first time visiting your establishment. Everything was delicious & perfect! We. Believe Christina had a lot to do with that
Wine lover alert: These folks have Gruner Veltliner on tap. This was our first visit to this vibrant establishment which has much to offer in every catgegory of adult libations. Service was warm and friendly even for a late Sunday evening. Definitely a popular place for lunch that boats an inviting outdoor patio.
I did a carry out with a web certificate and the bartender who checked me out was amazingly patient and kind because it was difficult to process but he made it completely positive experience... thank you
My family and I went there on Sunday around 1100 am. I thought the food and the service was very good. We will go back.
I proposed to my girlfriend here, during brunch service a few weeks ago. I don't typically write reviews, but the service was just THAT good! We had close to 40 guests, and the staff accommodated us really well. Huge shout out to Chris, the manager, who helped to coordinate the event. I couldn't be happier with how everything went.
Buffet breakfast is sad and way too expensive for what you get. Not worth it
Service was tip top. Good atmosphere
Good food great service!
We stopped here for dinner before the Shen Yun performance. Our server, Lisa, asked if we were seeing one of the downtown performances before taking our orders. Served FAST and friendly. She made sure we got fed and out the door with plenty …
Very nice... great food. Waitress very friendly.
Staff was amazing, and Bristol burger was super yummy!
Buffet dishes very limited some dshes where lupe warm or cold. The waiter staff wa great. Price for 6 adults and 2 children under 6 was $136 including drinks. Will not get a second visit unless buffet menu improves greatly. The buffet was served in what seemed like a dress up store room with bad lighting.
Food was mediocre. Dining room was huge but had about 6 tables full. We (4 adults, kid-free for the evening) were placed right next to a table of 4, with 2 small kids. We passed multiple tables with a better view for a table directly next to a table with a newborn and 4-year that didn't stay in his seat for more than 2 minutes. Not the relaxing dinner we were hoping for. Waitress didn't seem interested in giving menu recommendations or even being there.
The waitress was very funny and friendly. The food was great. Nice atmosphere.
I personally enjoy the Sweet Chili Linguine, it has a not too sweet flavored sauce topped with a grilled blackened chicken breast for the right amount of spice!
Great service and excellent food
Atmosphere was nice, Appetizers were bland and room temperature. They weren't very busy but it seemed to take a while for them to prepare sandwich, burger and a kids grilled cheese. Overall I might just go to chili's next time.
Food is not good and the prices are high. The wait was also very long, would not recommend and hope to dissuade my coworkers from suggesting it.
Great bourbon selection! Prices are done right and not outrageous!
I loved this place! I came down to Louisville for my bachelor party. We grabbed an 8pm reso for 7 guys. This place was hopping, but everyone had cleared out by 8. I think there was a show nearby. Our waitress was awesome and sassy in a really good way. The food was great too. I had the pork dijonaise (sp?). Get that! So gooood! I highly recommend this restaurant and would gladly go back.
Celebrated a 21st birthday here with a group of 10. Not only did our server immediately wish my brother happy birthday, but many other members of staff did as well - very thoughtful! Our table was set and waiting for us, since we had made reservations and our server was immediately on hand to make recommendations. The meal portions where all large and being accompanied by a side salad to start was great! Everyone throughly enjoyed their meal. The great location was a huge bonus!
Unless I totally missed something, but I wasn't really that impressed with this place. We stopped through on our way by and had a drink at the bar. We stopped around 2pm and it was really strange to see the staff sitting in the booths around the bar eating meals. I understand they need to eat, but was just uncommon to see them eating with the patrons. Not a big deal, just different. Had a couple of Kentucky Mules and some kind of won-tons the menu made sound a whole lot better than they were... Not a bad stop, but you might find a better one if you keep walking...
We were walking along Main Street in downtown Louisville, this afternoon, when we spotted this fine establishment. We were seated promply, drinks arrived right away, and our order was taken. No fuss, no waiting. The southern fried chicken was excellent. Mashed potatoes, and collard greens. A little bit of gravy and that was that. My daughter had the Caesar salad, a nice full size, lots of green and shaved parmesan. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich, it didn't last long.
Steak ordered was cooked perfectly, but tasted like a salt lick. Service took a long time. Waiter polite. He separated the checks and I was given the check for myself, and a lady who was not my date, as I was unaccompanied.
Very nice. Relaxing atmosphere. Professional staff. Good food as a bonus.
Stopped in for dessert and coffee. Good dessert menu. Very good service.
Conveniently close to the Kentucky Center for the Arts. Good was good and so was the atmosphere
Fun brunch. Made our own bloody Mary's. Chicken was excellent and so were the pasta dishes. (Thanks Brad). Quiet atmosphere, very good coffee. We'll be back! Park in the 6th street garage and get your parking ticket validated. We love downtown.
Great service and food.
Thanks to the GM Daniel for the hospitality! Enjoyed our drinks, education on bourbon, and getting the insider's scoop on the best stops in town.
Not so good. We went Thursday, Oct. 18th before Aladdin. I was treating my best friend to a night out and the show. We had the special, which was brisket, potato "something" and supposed to be asparagus. The brisket was mostly fat, barely any meat. The potatoes were yuck, and the asparagus turned out to be a combination of asparagus and broccoli and was awful. The service was great, but the food was not great, not even good. So sorry,
Great lunch. Excellent desert and service One block from Science Center etc
We went for Easter brunch and I was underwhelmed this year. They had the buffet shoved in a tiny room that was sweltering hot and uncomfortable. The servers weren't paying attention at all and the coffee was burnt. The food wasn't even …
They had some kind of gas issue so no hot food, but no one bothered to tell us until we sat down. Good food.
We stopped here for a meal and the food was great and our server Kevin was so nice! Glad we stopped by
The original trend setter in Louisville. Everything about this place is wonderful and the Louisville food scene isn't what it is without the Bristol.
Wonderful food and atmosphere.
The food was actually really great and quite reasonably priced. The only issue came with service. We came for the brunch bar on a Sunday and the line for food was about 40 people long. When we showed up they didn’t tell us the only option was buffet this day. Then there were just some other delays that made the experience a bit below where I think this group would expect. All that being said I think we may have experienced a fluke as the place seemed slammed with customers and I’d give them a second try
Great atmosphere and Delicious food and family friendly
Amazing food and fabulous service!!
Convenient to the theatre.
Paid over $10 for a Cobb salad the size of most other restaurants' side salad, the "avocado was barely more than a sliver. Needless to say, I left hungry. Went for lunch and it took over an hour and 15 minutes to get in and out. Can't really justify paying for that portion size and slow service.
Service was slow and not attentive. Food was overcooked, dry and tasteless. Was very disappointed
Outstanding! What a wonderful way to enjoy downtown Louisville: sunny day, shopping, Louisville Orchestra performance, and divine lunch at Bristol Bar & Grille! Great food... great service... affordable prices... within walking distance of everything!
The venue was beautiful, the staff was very accommodating and overall amazing!
Hostess was borderline rude. Waitress was inattentive. Got a rotten cherry tomato in my salad, and the food did not make up for the service.
Nice location, near the Louisville Slugger factory. Stopped in for a quick lunch. Food was excellent and service was quick.
Friendly staff that gave great recommendations. The kids were happy with their pasta selections. Manager(s) even came by several times to make sure we were happy as well.
The food was sooo good. Way better than expected. The green chili wontons were delicious! My boyfriend got the green chili hot brown and could not say enough about how good it was. I had the veggie Thai stir fry and it was great. The service was the reason I didn’t give it a 5 star but it was ok to good. She just didn’t seem super friendly.
Excellent food and friendly atmosphere.
