it's been hit and miss. I've had maybe 3 great experiences here. Most times the bar tender has no idea how to make a good drink. I ordered a top shelf margarita and it was disgusting. She should not have been making drinks. This happened like 3 times that we went in a row. We kept going back thinking maybe it was just 1 bad employee working that last time we went and that the next time would be better. The last time we went everything was perfect through. Drinks and food. Just seems to be hit and miss like most places.

My family went here a couple weeks ago. We were not super impressed. My sons mac and cheese had way too much pepper. The crab cakes did not taste good, and the fried oysters were over cooked. Went there on a reccomendation because we were in the area. May have just been a bad day. I may give it another shot next time. The ranch for the salad was pretty good.

None of our visit went well. Although the sign at the hostess desk and the menu listed various soups, there was only chili available. We ordered sandwiches. After a longer wait than you would expect, we received our food. I was not brought what I ordered. I asked, I was told they couldn't bring me what I wanted, yet specific questions were asked by the server while ordering. So instead of coming and asking me if something was ok or if I wanted to change my order, they brought me what they wanted to. Excuses from the server, excuses from management, I didn't get to have dinner with my family, paid our bill and left. Terrible!

Wow that was some bad food The prime rib was tough and add a reheated cold baked potato and an undercooked vegetable. For what I paid I could have went to several good steakhouses in Lexington.

We were just in from out of town. Service was horrible. There were 3 waitresses standing there that could compliment my dress but didnt even sit us. They all talked for a few more minutes and then walked away. We were questioning if the restaurant was even open by how they were acting. Another waitress came by after 5 minutes and asked us if we had been helped. Finally sat us. Then it took another 10 minutes for someone to even come and get us drinks. Even though there were 4 waitresses just standing at the bar talking. The wings were awful. We hardly ate. Just paid and left and got on the road. Sucks because we drove half an hour out of our way just to eat here based on reviews. Oh well.

Food was actually good today, but the service has been subpar for quite some time, as was today.. I used to eat here all the time. But sometime in the last couple years, the place has fallen off. Either you get good food and terrible service or bad food and decent service.. it's never really quite all together. I will say that out of the many many burgers I've eaten here, today was the first time it actually came out medium (as ordered). In the past, i always wondered why they even ask how you want it cooked. There's a reason that BJ's isn't near the top of my list of places to eat in bardstown, anymore. BJ's is like a box of chocolates.. you never know what you're going to get.. hope to see a rebound, because i really miss frequenting this place.

Saw their billboard as I was heading into town. Good thing because it's not on the main street. Ordered a 4 ounce fillet, baked potato and cole slaw. It was absolutely wonderful. Steak cooked to perfection - medium. Friendly staff, quick service and very fair prices. A definite visit.

Good place to grab a bite to eat or a drink. They offer burgers, rib eyes, a handful of sandwiches, seafood options, salads, and more. Service is typically good and the wait is usually short. The Hot Brown is spot on.

The ribbye had to send back the pork chop was not done all the way thru too to long from your salads to our meal service was ok Logan's or longhorn beats them hands down first and last time eat there will drive 45 mins for good food next time bill was $81 for not good food the ranch dressing was green ranch dressing is white

The service was good. The rib eye was outstanding ! I didn't need any steak sauce for this steak! The salad was fresh and large. The fried mushrooms were large and the honey mustard dipping sauce was the best. It was so good, we came back the following week. The service was excellent, the steak was close your eyes excellent! The beer served in a frosty mug. The Kentucky silk pie was delicious! We'll be back!

This is certainly one of the best places to eat in Bardstown Kentucky. Of course if you're going for fine dining you're going to pay fine dining prices which is perfectly fine with me. The staff is always very friendly in the food is cooked to Perfection every time.

Giving two stars only because my food has been decent there before. This time they got my order entirely wrong so I had to wait and bring home cold food. I wasn’t even approached at the bar for 10 minutes. When I finally get home there are two hairs in my salad. Terrible service and experience with mediocre at best food. And obviously not held up to a good enough health standard. Do yourself a favor and pass on this place.

There is becoming more and more options of what and where to eat in Bardstown. You can never go wrong with BJ's Steakhouse. In my opinion, I think they have the best burgers in town. Their steaks are fantastic. I will always order the bacon cheese curly fries as an appetizer. My favorite thing about this place is their fantastic homemade ranch!

Have been there before at dinner time. This time was lunch and the selections sounded appetizing but left a lot to be desired. The appetizers were good. I had Philly steak and cheese. It was like warm and the peppers and onions on it were cold. Dessert was good. I would not go back for lunch but would for a normal dinner. Last time I had prime rib and it was excellent, cooked perfectly.

Service was great. They reheated our onion soup when served only warm. The fried mushrooms were very good, as were the curly fries. The cold slaw was very good. The FATAL MISTAKE was the fried oysters smelled like catfish cooking oil and were over cooked. A horrible entree killed the rating. Possibly best to stick with a hamburger or steak in this place.

Seated by manager on arrival. Several minutes later a couple seated next to us after we were seated were served. After realizing they were being served we got up to leave. Approached my manager and we were re-seated and the manager served us personally. Food is very good, however it seems to be hit or miss with the wait staff

Definitely visit if you like good steak, great sides and good value. I had the bacon wrapped filet mignon with stuffed potato and sauteed mushroom on the side - yummy. The wife had 3 sides - loaded fries, fried mushrooms, and boneless wings with bourbon glaze. All of them were delicious. Friendly staff, great value. Best steakhouse in Bardstown.

Good food. Went there specifically for their blackened prime rib which I've heard was great but didn't arrive early enough, it was all gone. I'll have to make another trip and make sure I get there earlier next time. The blackened NY Strip I ordered instead was spot on - look forward to my next visit.

Was seated and handed a lunch menu. We were there for steak because we had heard good things. Ask if we could order one and then was given a dinner menu. Was not offered rolls, so we ask for some. Mistake! Was given frozen pop in the oven rolls. Steak came and we got a frozen pop in the oven stuffed potato. Ribeye with gristle and tendon in a large section of mine. Not worth 60.00 that we paid. Fast food steak house. At least Cattlemans has a salad bar!

Ordered carry out, 2 14oz ribeyes, they had absolutely no flavor at all. My wife went in to pay and get the food, she noticed they charged over for the kids food, the bartender then proceeded to get an attitude with her asking her what she wanted her to do about it. Do not plan on eating from the again. Worst $68 spent. But on the plus side the hostess was a sweetheart.

The 14 oz ribeye was excellent. Fried catfish and salmon were too. The only thing we found that we could say that would be better is to season the fries. Prices are decent also. Haven't been disappointed anytime I have been there.
