Went on a Sunday. It was loud. Staff was friendly. Food took a long time to come out, guessing since they were not very busy at 3pm that they make each order as it comes and nothing is pre prepped on standby. I got puff pastry with chicken. It was deep fried and not well drained. It wasnt unpleasant, but room for improvement IMO. Acid reflux kicked in 20 minutes after eating too, be prepared. Tablemate had a burger and it was loaded with fresh toppings. No complaints.

I Love the pita pockets from Tikka House, i get them to go and pop tbem in my toaster oven Excellent! The reason they don't get five stars from me is their menu entry are only ok and when you get pocket in store they microwave it making the crust soft(still good but sub-optimal).

Their cuisine is exquisite, thier selection of fresh spices is beyond compare, and thier tamarind tea makes my heart sing. but if you try nothing else here you have to come here for the hummus. If you love hummus you're probably like me and tired of paying out the nose for hummus at grocery stores or restaurants. At tikka not only do you get a really generous amount of hummus for 4.99, not only is it the most fresh and delicious hummus I've ever eaten, but they will flavor it with any spice that they have in thier vast selection. Perfection.

The food here is more of a Mediterranean Indian Fusion, but don't let that put you off. Everything is delicious, and the staff is wonderful. Prices are super affordable. And, you can stock up on spices for your own kitchen while you're here.

I am visiting from the east coast and got to visit this amazing little spice shop! The smell of the spices is divine! I also got to sample some of their food and it was incredible! There is no exaggeration when I say that if/when I visit MO again, this place is basically my #1 reason! The only regret I have is that i couldn’t purchase any of the spices! It would be depressing to buy some and then not have any allowed on the flight back home.

I know what I like and I like what I know; one of my most favourite food cliche. Tikka House broke this rule. I had some time on a Friday afternoon and I needed to get lunch. I had been craving Indian Cuisine for a while, so I pulled up a search and found my way here. No regrets whatsoever. Great place, great food. Simple spice mix and fair price. You should definitely try it.

A hidden gem in the river market!! Awesome food....very friendly staff both times I've gone food was served up hot and fresh. If you are looking for some yummy food while your shopping I'd give this place a go. You wont regret it. Oh...and definitely get some nann bread...I think they bake it fresh when ordered and it's worth the wait.

Got 10$ and an empty stomach? Well, head on over here. When you walk in, you see an array of spices that you can purchase and throw into your cooking concoctions. Spices aside, the food is legendary. I personally ordered the chicken on rice with naan. The chicken piece were cooked wonderfully, with a soft, salmon like texture. The rice is delicious, but nothing truly extraordinary. The only bad thing about this experience was the first bite of salad. I did not expect it to be sweet but after the surprise, it was good. My final comment about this spot is the staff. The lady there was very kind and laid back, and overall very friendly. I highly reccomend eating here if you are in the area, or on a budget. Great food for a low price.

The spice has all the spices you might need for any type of cuisine, a lot of custom "Kansas City" spices and rubs. The perfect place to grab a little bite to eat and a beverage while shopping in the River Market area. the staff was super friendly and helpful and made fantastic recommendations.

Absolutely love this place and eat here every time I come to the city market. The vegan potato pockets are delicious and cheap. My SO always gets the house salad and lentil soup and loves both. The workers are always friendly and careful about checking if you need the vegan sauce instead of dairy, that kind of thing. I would give them 5+ stars if they just used more environmentally-friendly plates, bowls, cups, cutlery... Everything is plastic and styrofoam, so I always feel a bit guilty.

All I can say about this place is that it’s the “four letter expletive that would likely be censored but begins with an S.” Everything from the food, service, portions, experience, and prices make for a top notch destination if you’re craving Indian food or spices. The two people that run this place (I’ve never seen anyone besides these two anytime I’ve been here), are the most friendly folks you could come across. They go above and beyond to answer questions from patrons about spices, give advice, and add personal anecdotes to really connect with their clientele. This is hands down my favorite joint among the dozen or so restaurants in the area. Great food, warm service, and unlike most restaurants serving supposedly spicy food, when you ask for spicy, Tikka House delivers. It’s the perfect level of heat. Enough to bring on just a bit of eye brow sweat but leave your taste buds intact so you can enjoy your entire plate. You guys rock!

Didn’t really like it though I wanted to, as I ordered tamarind tea which was actually raspberry flavored.I can’t stand this flavor so it was a waste. But they have exotic collections of spices. And employee is really chill and nice.

This is an overall great place to stop in river market. We ended up going 3 times within 2 days to try multiple different items. We really like the chicken shawarma, the pita makes the wrap really good and is an important part of any chicken swarma. We also tried multiple pita pockets which are a great price, the bread is cooked perfectly and have great choices for anyone to try they favorite. My favorite is the beef and lamb. Their hummus is one of the best I have ever had. We did not get any spices but we now know where we would buy them in the future.

Maybe I went to a different Tikka House today. I ordered the special, Butter Chicken and a piece of naan. The naan was lukewarm and basically just pita bread. The butter chicken was really terrible. I have had better butter chicken sauce from a jar. The rice was yellow, like the rice that Chinese food court restaurants have. I spent $8 and ate 3 bites.

My husband and I just visited this place for the first time yesterday. This place is great! Maggie is super sweet and funny, and was so helpful in explaining the tastes of all of their different spices available for purchase. We were even able to try them! She also helped me with the menu in finding things that were gluten-free. AND, their juices/teas are AMAZING. Will definitely be back! Came home with a full belly and lots of yummy spices!

I love coming to this place on Saturday mornings when the farmers market is going. The people who own it work so hard and are so courteous. You have to wait a second for spices so make it your last stop if in a hurry. But it is always worth it for the price and quality.

This is a great store for finding actual authentic Asian produce and food products. You won't find any of this stuff in American grocery stores. Staff are very friendly. The location has a bad odor in it.
