I have to say, years ago when I started going there it was fantastic. But the last two times I visited, the food was sub par. And the portions were very small for a higher price. Not a very smart business move. But I will say, the server we had was so friendly, knowledgeable and made are the visit worth four stars. Without her, I would've only given three.

Went to this place a couple of days ago and needed a container of rice for 10 people..... Paid 8.88 for the container. Got home to find it half full. When I called, the lady who helped me answered. I told her everything and mentioned I asked for it to serve 10. She told me she didn't think I was serious and gave me for 8 people. Then said she can charge me for another one. Like really?? Let's say the only time I'm going here is for someone else or a family's birthday. Sooooo disappointed!! What's even sadder, this isn't the first time something like this has happened.

Taqueria is my family's go-to for large group celebrations. The molcajete is my favorite meal, my dad goes for pollo parilla, the rest mixes it up each time we visit. Service is always gracious. (I was a server, large groups are difficult.) They have a room we can use for semi-private parties which is always a treat. I love the charros.

Horrible service, waitress told me she was too busy with the other tables to remember my drink order, no apology just more like "oh well". The service continued with her nonchalant dismissive attitude. It was my daughter's 11th birthday, her food came out so late that we were finished eating by the time it arrived. I asked her how it was and she said the meat tasted like it had been soaked in water. The guacamole was bland, and the cheese dip had the spinach in a big clump in the middle of it. It was very busy and there were good reviews so I was excited to have authentic mexican food. Very disappointing.

The best micheladas I've had in Kansas City and just solid southern Mexican food to go with it. Their hot salsa is tangy and tastes fermented and their regular salsa is salty and bright. I got the chile rellenos with extra sauce and my fiance got enchiladas tres amigos. She said the mole was just like her mother makes, and the chicken was really good even though neither of us are usually chicken people. The sauce on my rellenos was perfect, and their beans are super smooth. We'll be back here.
