Love Love the food. Nice people. Doesn't look like the most fabulous place but the food really is good. Best place we've found since our favorite place closed so they could spend more time with family..we have been going to Springfield, MO. Only 3-4times a year. Only complaint would be they need to use a better plastic fork because theirs are too flimsy

They have their own parking, but the area isn't very busy so it wasn't an issue. It's a simple setup, you enter and are immediately at the counter. The entire kitchen is visible and you can watch you food being made. They have all the classics, including lunch specials and a super friendly, family-oriented staff.

Agreed. Food here is pretty good and very cheap prices. You also get plenty of food from this tiny lady--I meant lots of food that is worth your money. Fresh made chinese and you actually see them cook it. However, it is not the best place to dine in because space is small and tight. Order and go is great though. Highly recommend this place.

I'm from denver and we wanted some Chinese food I saw tao tao and the reviews were good. I was not happy with the over 30.00 of food I received. All the food was fried and very few vegetables to be seen . It all looked the same fried.. General tao combination looked the same as the other food. The carry out was crowded there were so mix up with other orders. The people there were very friendly but, I will not return to this restaurant. The pictures on their web site is nothing like you are served ( see pics) can you figure out which is the General Tao combination? I can't. It just deep fried meat, not good.

The lady behind the counter was very sweet. Now as for the food, I ordered General Tso's Chicken, extra spicy. What was made was, frozen chicken, very dry, with sweet sour sauce and crushed red pepper flakes sprinkled over the top. Sorry but NO! The reviews on here, must have been family and friends. The only reason I gave them the two stars, was for the little polite lady. Will not be returning.

We decided to go on a little culinary adventure into the heart of K.C., KS. We ended up at Tao Tao. As the other reviews indicate, Annie was at the front counter taking care of customers. She is quite proud of what comes out of the kitchen and showed us each dish to make sure we were happy. We had egg drop soup, egg rolls, combination lo mein, combo fried rice and kiung pow chicken. Everything was excellent. I would caution you that their spicy foods are just that. The hot and sour soup was quite spicy. Dining in consists of three tables in a back room and counter service. While we were there we saw a gentleman's general's chicken and it looked delicious. I can't wait to go back and try it. If you go, don't expect table service linen napkins and fine dining. But do expect excellent food and very large portions. We will be back.

I wanted egg fu yung and didn't see it in their online menu. I go to pick up my food and am told if they put it on the menu their would be too many orders for it. That makes no sense. Aren't you in business to make money? If you're getting so many orders, put it on the menu to increase revenue and increase your supply to meet demand. I ordered pork stir fried noodles. This dish is supposed to have vegetables in it but all I can see and taste are scallions. Also the noodles were slightly chewy. The General Tso chicken was ok.

This place is amazing!! Best Chinese food espically the Springfield Cashew Chicken. It is just like the original you get in Springfield Mo.. Servings are huge made as you wait no setting around under hear lamps. The Ragoon, is to die for sweet or savory. The Crab Ragoon has chunks of crab not little slivers. Spinach and garlic, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Snickers are pure Heaven. When you walk in you are greated as if you are a regular even if it is your first time. Don't let the small building fool you the flavor of the dishes are huge.

This is the WORST customer service I've received in my whole life. The order DIDN'T look ANYTHING like the picture, ordered Sesame chicken, got fried chicken without sauce. Also ordered crab Rangoons, and didn't even get that. I ordered for pick up, when I got there, I was expected to take 8 items WITHOUT a bag, when I asked for a bag, I got an attitude and a statement of "I only have two hands" So, she tried to put it in a large, FLAT box, I said that's not necessary, can I just have a bag. She lectured me and said that wasn't a good idea cuz the soups would spill, I said no, I'm positive it will be fine. And to top everything off, the "eggdrop soup" tasted like complete trash. I mean, it tastes more like corn chowder mixed with condensed chicken noodle soup. I'd have gone back to return the order and get my crab rangoons if I didn't have other people I was feeding as well. ALSO, I didn't want to interact with these people again because I'd likely have cussed them all out. DON'T GO HERE. NOT ONLY IS IT HE QORST SERVICE IVE RECEIVED IN MY ALMOST 30 YEARS OF LIVE, BUT ITS THE WORST CHINESE FOOD IVE EVER TASTED. AND THATS SAYING A LOT.

I’m just going to be honest and say, I don’t know why everyone loves this place. It isn’t even authentic Chinese food the chicken is so heavily coated it’s like fried chicken from a fast food chain with brown gravy and the Generals chicken tasted like it was coated in sweet and sour sauce. The building is old and I definitely wouldn’t eat inside if anyone decides to go here.. The guy who took the order seemed nice but was very pushy to get you to order quickly. I wasted my money and threw all my food out, I could not eat this and felt sick for even trying it. Definitely will not be coming back I’d rather have Panda Express.

The food isn't the only thing about this restaurant that deserves 5 stars. We decided to visit Tao Tao because of a video we saw on Facebook. We were going in only with their eclectic rangoons in mind. Everything was incredible. When walking in the door we were greeted warmly. Their lunch portion was more than most dinner portions. And I cant get over how good the chicken is. It's better than you would find at any chicken chain. Then we are brought back to their eclectic rangoons. We literally tried every one they still had available. The savory ones were exceptional. But the dessert rangoons really took the cake. Even if you dont have a sweet tooth, you will find a way to enjoy at least one of these. The last incredible thing was the two people running the establishment. They took the time to talk to us while we waited. Talked about other great restaurants to try. Asked about our travels we were on. They were humble with our compliments. And truly cared about the community, and the hungry man that walked thru the door with no money. He said he was very hungry and asked if they had something to eat. Without missing a beat the sweet lady behind the counter told the man young man to have a seat and she would take care of him. Everyone deserves to have the experience we did at this restaurant. Give it a try. Spread the word.

I really wanted to like this place. EVERYBODY says how good it is so I was excited to try it - you walk in and place your order - in and out pretty quickly. I ate here twice. The first time the chicken looked suspect to me - I mean, isn't chicken supposed to be white? This was gray ok?! Nope turned me off. Went a second time - suggested it to my cousin who is from out of town - again, I really wanted to like this place. The chicken looked the same. I don't know ya'll. It's suspect to me. The food wasn't as good as expected as much as everyone raves about it, I was expecting it to be better than it was. I would suggest going elsewhere....

The fried breading on this chinese was like nothing I've ever tried before. I wasn't quite sure what to make of it. Update: I tried it again, 6 months later. It's not good. The sesame chicken was inedible. Honestly wanted to like it because I like the way in which it's cooked, but the quality is severely lacking.
