This Restaurant belongs to the category of Barbecue restaurant.
They have beef ribs here that are as good or better than the ones at Jack Stack. I'm not really sure how this place gets anything less than 4.8 stars or more as they're just as good as the other famous places in KC, I think better in some ways. Their burnt ends are not all fatty chunks of just soft fat, they're full of meat. It's a little more expensive than some folks but they give you better BBQ. They've taken a little sweetness out of the sauce too and it's even better this time.
Would recommend you ask for the BBQ to be naked!! Way to much sauce was ladled over the meat. They put it on like spaghetti sauce and it takes away from the meat flavor. After getting that fixed, I got them to bring out the hot and sweat sauces, much better than the original. The pulled pork was very good and only needs a dab of sauce, the smokiness is right on. Burnt ends were good, not the best i have ever had, but good. The Baby Back Ribs were very good and the best on my plate. BBQ beans were recommend by the waiter were awesome but we really loved the slaw.
The employees were nice. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. Too much sauce on my burnt beef ends. The sweet tea was syrupy and definitely not homemade. The mac and cheese and cole slaw were decent though. I would eat those again, but overall I wouldn't go back to this restaurant.
It looks like reviews are mostly positive, which I concur with. The drink specials were reasonable, and potent (at least my particular selections). The ever so famous Kansas City barbecue that we traveled for was priced reasonably. My guest and I split a massive platter that included pork spare rib, smoked ham, BBQ glazed beef I believe. That all in addition with their incredible smoky pit beans, which I could've ate alone. If I'm ever back in the area, this will be a place to go.
Flavor was great but texture wasn't what I was expecting. Brisket was essentially pastrami, pulled pork was mush. Sides were good, especially the baked beans.
Great service food was delicious good portions.
The prime beef rib and burnt end combo are my favorite! I really miss the amazing corn nuggets, fried zucchini, sweet/zesty/meaty BBQ beans and the best ever huge baked potatoes now that I’m on a keto diet. Staff are friendly and helpful. And they maintain their parking lot!
This place has good BBQ and a nice variety of appetizers. My ribs were cooked to perfection. Some of my fellow diners thought it was sightly too much BBQ sauce for their taste. I would definitely go back. The service was top notch. Not a single drink glass was ever completely empty during the entire meal.
Very good food we had the variety platter and all was delicious burnt tips, chicken, spare ribs and baby back. Big plate but it was a good way to sample all.
Good food, good service
Always great food. Very consistent quality.
Great BBQ
Nice selection of Smoked Meats. Comfortable setting. Decent service.
I'd pass. Many other choices in KC. My visit might have been a fluke, but they sat me without a menu, I had to ask for one. My bar order sat at the bar for at least 10 min, then the bartender brought it to my table. When my sliced beef brisket arrived it was barely warm, more like room temperature. Fries were hot thank goodness and the coleslaw was cold. I was pressed for time traveling so I didn't raise an issue. Not impressed. Less than expectation.
Good food. Courteous service. Will definitely go back!
Absolutely wonderful food and experience. Recommended.
Not my favorite of the local bbq spots. Baby back ribs were great, but I didn't really like the other styles as served here.
Visiting here from Pittsburgh and I have say it was great BBQ! I also respect the fact that they don’t require you to put a second mortgage out on your home to pay for it! Great food at a great price.
Hit or miss on the burnt ends but the beef ribs are great!
Smokehouse BBQ at Zona Rosa in Kansas City MO catered our wedding in late Oct 2018. They were very personable and professional to work with from the time we booked the event through the set up, serving, and clean up on our special day. Due to the weather, our ceremony was relocated to the reception site, causing a slight delay in the food area being available for set up. The Smokehouse staff was sensitive to our situation and still had things ready to go by the established serving time. The food was delicious and our guests raved on the quality, quantity, and selection as well as the friendly servers. Clean up was quick and complete. I definitely recommend this business for catering your special events!
We waited for our food for over 45 minutes. The waitress did offer a free dessert.
The best BBQ beans around
Rose was great server. Wonderful food. Did U say how good?
The service is exceptional, and the food is delicious.
BBQ sauce was drenched on the burnt ends and brisket, which is never a good sign. The burnt ends were not good. The brisket that wasnt drenched was alright. The sauce itself was horrible, like ketchup. The coleslaw was basically KFC slaw, and the potato salad was pretty average.
The food, and service is always great each and every time I come.
Smokehouse was huge and had a really nice atmosphere but very busy. We had a reservation so we were seated in good time but you could tell it wasn't the kind of place you could sit for a while and enjoy yourself. The food was above average but you could tell the time and love the smaller bbq places put in isn't there. The menu has something for everyone as well as the beer and wine list. I would go back but I wouldn't make a place that you have to go to if you're in town.
Not very good food. Waitress was aloof. We didn't even take our leftovers home.
I love BBQ but this is not my fav in KC. Always nice staff and good service.
Love there food and you can order it to go
Service was very Good! Bbq was ok. Burnt ends and ribs...tasted like I could have been at any bbq joint. I would go back, but if I had time, would seek out something better.
First time eating KC barbecue---worth the wait! Had Sampler of ribs, pulled pork and chicken, all AMAZING.
Good bbq in an upscale restaurant. Burnt Ends Platter was very good with burnt ends that almost melted in my mouth. Cole slaw was perfect combination of sweet & sour. Service was fast & we didn't have to wait long for anything: seating, drinks, appetizers, or main meal. They put sauce on your meat so ask for 'dry' if you want to choose how much sauce to put on your meat.
Food was great and service was just as good. Burnt ends platter all the way! Bloody Marys are good, too.
Service was great. The food wasnt. For being a bbq place I would think that you would taste more bbq than just the smoke flavor. I just dont think it was worth what we paid. I wont be going back.
Went here on June 30th 2017 bad experience but went here today May 26th for lunch sat same place had the same menu item 2 meats chicken and sausage on french bread with fries and much better. Chris was our server and was more efficient than our last server.
We were traveling and stopped for a carry out order. The host taking our order was very friendly, answered questions, and got us everything we needed to eat in the hotel (Plates, extra napkins, etc). It took less that 10 min from walking in to leaving with our family meal. Everything was still hot and packaged great when we opened it at the hotel, and tasted great. Thanks guys!
I was visiting from Dallas Texas and this place can definitely use some tips from us Texas folks. I did not like the food at all. Their baked beans are really good but besides that this was my first and last time here.
Great food, good service, little noisy
The food is outstanding, the portions are ample, and the staff is gracious. This is a wonderful place for a quiet dinner or a merry reunion of a larger group.
Me love food.
Great service and the food was great
It wasn't bad but definitely didn't MEAT my expectations. Red robin's sweet potatoes fries are so much better, also the quality of ribs could easily be matched by most BBQ places. The service and atmosphere was very nice.
Awesome experience, Texas worthy food and atmosphere
Had a nice quiet corner to visit with relatives from out of town. Great service. Ribs and chicken meals were also great, but we were disappointed that they're no longer offering their prime rib sandwich, tho it's still on the menu
I was very pleased with the food as well as the service. I had the combo. Beef brisket burnt ends & ribs. I opted to forgo the fries. I ordered the grilled vegetables. Oh my gosh!!! They were amazing. I would definitely order those again!! What a delicious meal! I chose the right place to eat and look forward to eating here again when I'm back in town.
Delicious food and large plates to match the price. I felt bad for not finishing, but even reheated, the food was delicious! I will pick up food here every time I stop through KC.
Place empty, ordered ribs, full slab, split with another, ordered covered in sauce, will never do that again. Ribs were good. Place clean, beer was cold. Will return.
Absolutely loved the food. Reasonably priced. The service was top notch too! I will definitely return.
Omg! The grilled salmon was soooo good!
Baby back ribs were good. Fries were excellent. Beautiful decor inside, fancy. As for the rest of the food we tried, just average, especially by Kansas City BBQ standards.
This was my first time here. I was surprised how nice the place was inside. It looks like it used to be a very upscale restaurant inside but that smell if smoking meats takes that thought away. The staff was very courteous and attentive. I was however not overly impressed with the food. It was good but just didnt blow me away. I was also expecting a choice of BBQ sauces that they just dont have. The BBQ sauce was not very good. Overall a 3 star rating. They just need to work on a few things to bring this place up to a BBQ joint standard.
As listed in my Google Maps list of recommended BBQ places, this is my favorite. The excellent food and service continued tonight, especially since we showed up 15 minutes before closing. A friend is visiting KC for the first time and had just arrived at the airport. I wanted to share the best and they were gracious enough to take excellent, unrushed care of us and the other parties who were still there at that time.
Great atmosphere , love the 2 meat sandwiches, smoke flavor is just right.the meat is juicy, not tough, but very tender. The service is friendly but not intrusive. Which is why my family keeps going back week after week for the last two years. We would like to to see more variety in thier weekly specials.
Generally very good food. The barbeque sauce is not too sweet and the spicy sauce is not too spicy!
Our food was delicious. Best fried pickles i have ever had. Great service , great quality and great quanity!! Defintely recommend if in the area!!!
Smokehouse is always one of my favorites. The sauce is a little sweeter than some others but it still has smoky goodness. The beans are great and my son loves the cheesy corn. Pretty much a sure bet for great BBQ!!
Now for the food. The cheese burger and hot dog got great reviews from my daughters. My son really enjoyed the salmon sandwich, but said he really wanted fries, just forgot to ask for them. The salad looks great though. Bacon, hard boiled eggs mushrooms, and croutons. Lettuce, spinach and peas. That is a lot for just a side salad. The burnt ends were pretty good. The sauce was disappointing, but the smoke on the pork and brisket were very good. The meat was tender as well. If the sauce was better and maybe carmalized a little it would have been a must have. Fries were good, what should be expected at a good BBQ place. The pit beans are ON POINT. I love a sweet smokey bean with small bits of meat in it. We decided to enjoy a piece of turtle cheesecake for desert. It did not last long. This was a very good place and I do recommend going if you are in the area and looking for something not found everywhere. I love places that are unique to the area and serve good food. For that, I give Smokehouse BBQ 4 stars. The sauce was pretty weak, but being a different place made up for it some. As always, I rate stars as follows: 1- not good all around, 2- some good value, but pretty common and nothing stood out, 3- a solid choice all around, 4- one of my favorites, 5- a great experience all around and very unique for the area. Also, sorry for any typos. I am a computer guy, not an English major.
Among the best bar-b-que I've ever had. The burnt ends and short rib were perfect, and the fried sweet corn appetizer was great although not the most affordable on the menu. The mac and cheese side was great with white creamy sauce and spiral noodles. The steak fries were solid. The wait staff at the bar was some of the best I've had. I would highly recommend.
Amazing place for Bbq. Best cheesy corn nuggets in town!
Good food. Burnt ends are good. Gladstoner sandwich is favorite. Have to have the corn nuggets everytime we go. Highly recommend the cheesy corn and coleslaw for sides as well
Very good, short ribs were delish! Nice atmosphere, good service.
The food I was served was literally inedible: the burnt ends were so tough I couldn't even chew them. Not just a little tough: completely inedible. I had to spit it out. When I asked for a replacement for my pile of uneaten shoe leather, the waiter said burnt ends were "hard to come by" so he couldn't give me any more, but he could give me "chopped up burnt ends" -- in other words, they'd be happy to use a knife to chop the unacceptable dried out meat into smaller pieces. The $4 side dish of vegetables was soggy: either steamed into submission or microwaved from a bag of frozen veggies. Worst of all, this wasn't a cheap roadside dive -- we ended up shelling out over $70 for a meal for two, which is infuriating that I paid that much for food I that was inedible.
Best grilled shrimp ever. I can't find a place that had better
Food was just ok- Little to no smoke flavor and burnt ends were very dry. Nice clean building and waitress was nice though- will stick with Joes or Plowboys Bar-B-Que
Great BBQ, great service, but so-so sauce. Recommend asking for meats with just the dry rub and the sauce on the side unless you really like Kraft Original BBQ sauce. Brisket and sliced pork were tender and flavorful. Just wish they weren't so lost in the slathered sauce. Turtle cheesecake excellent end to the meal.
Came here a few weeks ago and had a good time. Honestly I think this place does deserve a better score than what it had when we came (3.5 - I think it's a little higher now). It's not the best BBQ joint in KC, but it's pretty good. We came at an off hour so it was relatively dead and our server was very good about being around and checking in on us. Service was quick and the portions were a good size. Some of the meats were a little more fatty than I had expected, which was a little disappointing but overall it was good. Out of the 4, everyone enjoyed their meals, so I am likely to return.
I love coming here to eat. Amazing bbq!
Great food & service. Reasonable prices
First time trying out. It was nice
GREAT food, excellent service, highly recommrnd!!!
My favorite smokehouse location The cajun style wings are near my favorite wings anywhere. The Chef's Special is a favorite of ours, large enough to split. I also really like the non-standard flavors of the Monterey chicken breast - - chicken, bacon, and sliced ham under melted Monterey cheese. Mmmm!
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend up scale but casual great food
Wow.......first time eating cheesy corn. Delicious. Chef delight was enough to feed a family of three at a good price. Food was delicious.
I stop here every time I fly into KC. I think they have great burnt ends and the pulled pork is awesome as well
We had the burnt ends. Good, but not great. More of a preference I would guess. We prefer Jackstack. For our two meals we spent almost $30 for lunch, not including tip. We consider that a little pricey for lunch. I liked the coleslaw and BBQ beans; my husband did not. Beans were sweet and a little runny. My french fries were not very good. I didn't even eat half of them. In my opinion, the meat had a little too much sauce on them. I would request sauce on the side next time. Overall our dining experience was just ok. The waitress did an adequate job. We didn't ask for more water, but she didn't refill our water glasses after the original time either.
Everything was great the food and the customer service kinda pricy but you get what you pay for!
The pulled pork and beef burnt ends were really good, and the Mac and cheese was amazing. Only down side, the server would be like, "let me get you another drink" then not come back for five minutes and when he did, he didn't bring the drink and had to go back and get it.
Great staff, Great BBQ and the restaurant is beautiful inside.
I only rate a 3 because of bad service. Food was Amazing..We had to wait for refill on everything ..
Consistently delicious food every time my family eats here. This time we tried the burnt ends macaroni & cheese appetizer. It was very good, we will be getting it again. The server was great! She made sure we always had what we needed, and was able to make helpful suggestions.
The Food was the definition of mediocre. Good service and nice waiters got this review 2 extra stars.
Food was exceptional, but a little pricey for the portion sizes....
Food was great. Delicious. A tad pricey but really pretty worth it. I ordered the salmon. Friend ordered the burnt end platter. All way delicious
I am not a competition smoker but I have smoked my fair share of meats and veggies for several years. I am glad I came here and not opposed to coming back at all. Nice to get BBQ in a sit down setting. Had the battered mushrooms which were surprisingly good, close to the best I have had and the Chef's Special since it had a wide sampling, far more than enough to eat and had to get a to go box. BBQ sauce was on everything which was good, if you do not want that you have to ask beforehand. Burnt ends were just a bit overdone but still very good, chicken and ribs also surprisingly good. I liked the old school touch with the white bread and pickles. I had the cheesy corn and grilled veggies, I thought the veggies were awesome, had nice seasoning and very lightly singed. The sides will often help define a place like this, what I had was very good although a bit limited. Bar drinks probably the lowest score but that does not mean they are bad either, nothing special about them and I thought they were mixed a bit thin. Margarita also came in something barely bigger than a large highball glass. Waitress accommodated all our needs well and did a good job.
Burnt end Mac & cheese...nuff said!
One of the best places to eat bbq! The service was excellent!
The food is tasty and plentiful. My server is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. My only gripe is that there was too much BBQ sauce-- it was on every bite of meat. Probably I should have asked to have it on the side. Will come back.
Damn good burnt ends, great service too
We love Smokehouse and usually visit the N. Oak location. Today, we were closer to the Zona Rosa location so we tried it. The food was good (which is why I'm giving it a second star), but we didn't realize until we got seated that we were going to be our server's last table for the day. From the minute she approached us, she was trying to rush us along and brought us the check not long after our meal came out. Halfway through the meal, she asked if we would like to go drinks and she kept looking back at us to see if we put our card out to pay yet. As we were finishing the last of our drinks, she comes over and asks if she can take the payment folder because she was excited about going home. This is before my husband had the chance to sign the receipt. We're just upset that we were rushed out and we were not even there an hour.
The chef salad is the best. Smoked meat & the best ranch dressing. My favorite sandwich is the crispy. Burnt ends are amazing. I've never been big on baked beans, but I really like theirs.
Would leave zero stars if I could, was going to try another establishment, but it was closed, so we came here since it was close. I had a pitmaster sampler, the ribs were dry, the burnt ends tasted like pot roast. The chicken was the best part. They asked if i would like sauce, I should have asked how much, I could barely see my meat under it, the sauce tasted like tomato soup out of a tin can. The beans were only ok, the mac n cheese was not flavorful, noodles were mushy and the cheese was grainy. The best thing I ate was one of my sons french fries. Will never go back again, sad part is was only in KC for one meal, was looking forward to their bbq, unimpressed
Yummy BBQ, burnt ends were delicious!
Incredible meats. Especially liked the burnt ends and baby backs
Over priced for the food they have. Staff was nice though. Just wasn't on point with the food.
One of our favorite places to eat in KC
Went here on a whim while killing time waiting on a flight out of Kansas City. Got there right at opening time. Service was good, staff was friendly. Food was excellent. Entire family was pleased. I had the ribs. No complaints at all.
Love this place. Great food, service. It's a little fancier then your typical barbecue joint. Prices are right on for what you get. The best beans in town hands down. Haven't found anything I didn't like. My one thing is I prefer my food to come to me unsauced. I for got to mention that to the waitress. Their sauce is quite good I just would of preferred less. Really it's my fault so they still get 5 stars.
Great smoked bbq and great service . Highly recommend and would definitely visit again!
Got a variety of choices, all good. Brisket salad kinda overpriced ...needed less salad more brisket.. pork ribs a little tough.
Smokehouse has been a staple of my adult life eating barbecue. We moved out of the area for awhile and recently moved back. We were super excited to visit again. The service was excellent. The burnt ends were great. But what happened to the cheesy corn? It tastes like they are using the canned nacho cheese that is used at the ball park for nachos and no actual spices or seasonings. It was disappointing.
I sat at the bar and the bartenders were very attentive, and my food came out fast. The food was very good. I will be back.
5 star service, but the food was Applebees-level.
This place is more of a fine dining BBQ joint which is a rarity. The menu selection was great, especially the dinner for 2 combos. The meals were awesome, service was quick and courteous.
I think is incredibly, the place always had people. Good flavor and variety. If you visiting KC MO, you need visit this place.
Food was good, sides were the best part of the meal. Service was slow and they weren't that busy. Burnt ends are not true burnt ends and were not that great. Pulled pork was a little dry. Ribs were ok.
Very good.. little heavy on the smoke and a little high on their prices
Crispy burnt end sandwich
This visit was better than some of my previous ones We had a group of 5 people and overall the food was good and service was also good.
The bbq sauce can be overwhelming but I love the corn nuggets and my family can actually get BBQ beef ribs which are hard to come by. Prices are reasonable too.
Really enjoyed lunch at Smokehouse. The service was wonderful and the food delicious.
Amazing experience once again. We drive down from Omaha almost every month to come to Smokehouse and every time it is worth it. Would recommend the beef burnt ends and the beans are what they are known for!!! Corn nuggets dipped in ranch are our favorite appetizer. Love this place!!
It was really good meat. I had the burnt ends beef and pork, so tender and the pork was juicy! I'd definitely go back.
Good not great waiter was awesome
Everyone in Kansas seems to love his place. I thought it was good. It’s in a nice little strip mall area with some simple shops to browse if you are looking to get out of your hotel for a bit. The u we ride is quick and painless as well.
Awesome staff to match the amazing food!
Get the baby back ribs and burnt ends. They'll change your life.
I loved the sandwich I had a couple of nights ago. In a hurry; got it to go within 3 mins of walking in. Woman at to-go cash register was so friendly. It had thick sliced ham and turkey. And, it was REAL, FRESH, roasted turkey and ham. Sauce yummy! It was delicious! Going back soon. 5
The mac and cheese appefizer with burnt ends was good. Nice smoke on the burnt ends. The sliced meat (brisket and turkey) tasted like old lunch meat. The potato salad and beans were good.
Food was good. Brisket was a little dry but really good flavor. Our server was top notch. Very attentive. We came towards closing and never felt rushed. Would go back again.
The food was out fast, and it was still very hot and delicious. Our waitress made sure we always had refills and checked on us regularly
Ordered the burnt ends. Yes they were burnt dry hard as a rock. Days later my jaw hurt from trying to eat. I've gotten bad ones before but these were just not acceptable. Called next day manager was not concerned at all. Should of said something while eating. Told her it was a party and didn't want to raise a stink and disrupt the party. She didn't care unwilling to do anything. Never eat there again.
I really enjoy the Cajun wings here. The Gladstone location is the best but I've been pleased each timw I've dined here whether dine in or carry out.
I came into Smokehouse on May 20, 2019 and ordered a family gathering. I ordered the meal gluten free because my wife has celiac disease. I asked them to put the bread in a separate box away from the food so my kids could eat it. I asked them when I picked it up if they could check it to make sure it was GF and they said it was so I took it home. I got home and opened up the food to see that they put bread on the meat which means my wife could or eat it. I called to complain and the manager told me they could not open up the boxes anymore to check. He credited my card back so that was a plus but the attention to detail was frustrating.
Really liked their BBQ sauce, didn't care for their burnt ends. It seemed they took an entire flat of meat cut it up and still called it burnt ends. Otherwise great staff and good beer
Service very prompt and efficient. Food was very good and we will be back soon.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service... need I say more?
Very good food and service!
Great BBQ, prices are a little less than I would have expected
With so many BBQ places to pick from in Kansas City, it can be a little overwhelming, but while most are good, some do better at certain things than others. I feel that Smokehouse does some of the best BBQ trays/platters in the area at a great price. We also enjoy their BBQ sandwiches and they have good sauce. We picked Smokehouse for our rehearsal dinner since it was affordable and with family coming in from out of town, they loved getting to have some Kansas City BBQ.
It's a beautiful restaurant. Big menu to choose from. As far as the BBQ, it's is good but not the best I have eaten. My biggest issue was that they sauced all the meats I ordered. It was way too much sauce and I am picky about sauces. I like mine sweeter and I like to decide how much.. The sides- good fries, excellent coleslaw, and BBQ beans and corn nuggets are to die for! The cheesy corn is not seasoned so it's blah. Appetizers.. Good fried pickles and corn nuggets!! Best ranch dip I have eaten
I have never had any bad food here. Fantastic food, always great service, and wonderful environment.
I wish I could give this place 10 stars. I'm from Philadelphia and was visiting the Kansas city area for a sporting event, we had heard so much about the barbecue, couldn't wait to try it... This is by far the best barbecue I have ever had, ever. Those hickory pit beans are to die for, so no matter what you order just be sure to get a side of them... I seriously am gonna be visiting Kansas city again...
Not a good experience Table of 8, waitress messed up order. Gave multiple orders to the wrong people. Didn’t act like she cared she messed up. One Order the ribs. Sauce was horrible. Multiply people at our table reported the same yuck. Didn’t ask us for a sauce. Came out drenched with this red tomato sauce. Tried the Cajun catfish Was like a Tabasco sauce on. Bottom was pretty much raw. I can barley rate this a three star. Terrible experience, hope you have a better one.
Burnt ends too tough (burnt pieces couldn't even be cut with a knife) but baked beans fabulous and really good coleslaw (and I'm picky about coleslaw). Also the lemon drop martini very good. Lost one star due to their burnt ends supposedly being one of their signature items.
Great food, for the best service sit at the bar.
I fly back to Missouri every April (will be there in 2019, in less than 3 months!), to visit w/friends. Several years ago, I was introduced to Smokehouse BBQ and have been an annual fan, ever since. After leaving KCI Airport, I drive to the Zona Rosa restaurant location to meet-up w/several of my friends, for a nice reunion, and to enjoy the mouth-watering and delicious, Burnt End Platter........AWESOME! Both the food and service, are second-to-none; you folks "bring-it", each and every time I'm there - thank you! Larry Hyatt, West Point, UT
Amazing bbq! Unique experience
Good food- too much smoke
I love the fried mushrooms and have a new favorite item. Smoked Chicken
Go for dinner not lunch, get pork spare ribs dinner with sauce for two and try the beans. Don't get sandwiches. Do get boulevard on tap often and normally very well priced.
Best bbq! Friendly and courteous staff! I shared a plate of beef and pork ribs with my hubby. There was so much food we couldn't finish it all! The onion rings were oh so good and my hubby said the beans were the best he ever had! We will be coming back for sure.
Very good service & food
Not impressed. Ribs were like leather. Pork was very dry. Brisket was fatty. The service was great, and the atmosphere was nice, but the food - not so good.
Wonderful BBQ! Always such good food and great service with hearty portions. If you're looking for some great food then it's definitely worth stopping to fuel up for some after lunch shopping!
Decent bbq small selection of craft beer but generally unique.
The manager Josh is one in a million and the cashier Gavin 10 Stars. I will continue come in here for life the best place buy bar in Missouri or Kansas my name is Greg and associative Garmin I will let all my associates know smokehouse is number one and I'm from San Diego California God bless your establishment
Best BBQ I've eaten. Service is very good.
Smoked catfish was excellent! Be aware, it's a whole fish, minus head
I'm not from the area but was in the mood for BBQ. The Hotel I was staying in recommended this place. If your wanting great BBQ this is the place to go. My waiter John was great. Very personable and informative. I travel for business and if I am staying in the area I will definitely come here again.
Sauce wasnt good but the ribs naked were nice and smoky tasted well. Service was unsatisfactory the server was overwhelmed 25 people one server is a recipe for failure.
I sat at the bar and the service was fantastic. The BBQ was also good.
Unbeatable service. Had to get the large plate and try all the different meats. Chicken was my favorite.
I have been to this restaurant at two of its locations, Zona Rosa and Independence, MO and both places were great! I go there for the beef rib because it's so delicious! Juicy and flavorful seasoning on the ribs keep me coming back! The service is also great. Every server I've had has been attentive and respectfully friendly.
Great BBQ, even stayed on our diets....
Good service food was dry this time.
Visited Smokehouse BBQ a couple of weeks ago with a large party. The service was great! However, the bbq was amongst the worst that I have ever had. The sauce tastes like ketchup and the meat is drowned in it. The meat is very dry and has very little smoke flavor. What little smoke flavor I could taste tasted like "liquid smoke". I wouldn't reccomend this restaurant for traditional bbq lovers.
It is one of the best barbecue restaurants I've been 2 in the greater Kansas City area
