Extremely fast service. I had long ribs and turkey. Not my style of ribs but some how when I looked down they were pretty well gone. Really enjoyed the meal. The cheesy bake was excellent. Tons of beer and soda choices. Definitely make it a stop.

If you want to talk about BBQ in KC this is one of the places on its map!! Great friendly service, also hats off to the cooks who remember every order shouted at them! Came in on break during construction had the Tuesday special sandwich (your choice of meat) side of French Fry's and a can of soda/tea 8 bucks.. Honestly it was very good and cant beat that price. Not to mention a nice little bar counter right when you walk in its great for fast pace people like me! Try it out!

We had a wonderful time! I forgot the girls name that took our order but she was awesome! All 25 of us were happy and the meat was delicious. Not my favorite sauce wish there more options but the flavor of the meat definitely made up for it in taste. This place has their stuff together and if we come back to KC we will definitely revisit. Ribs and fried green tomatoes recommend!

I came here for the burnt ends. Super dry, no fat on them at all. The brisket was cut way too thin and also dry. Pulled pork was pretty good. Ribs were fall off the bone, but tasteless and the BBQ sauce tasted uncooked.

Everyone in Kansas City has an opinion about the best BBQ, but this is a joint that has been around since the early 30's and should not be ignored or dismissed. Best sauce, best brisket, and they serve RC cola. No one else in the city serves RC cola, and I wish we had more places that did. It's near impossible to find this far north. Very old school vibe and definitely my favorite place in the city for 'que.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? The food here is a simply amazing. Order at the counter and have your food within minutes. My favorite is the pulled chicken sandwich & fries/coleslaw. The sauce (regular or spicy) has a very unique flavor, it is very sweet but at the same time very smokey. Enjoy a brew with your food, too! :)

Good combo sandwich, good fries that were fresh. The spicy BBQ sauce was good. I also had some fried mushrooms that were very good, nice and crunchy with good batter flavor.

I love the fries here, the best in town. Remodeled a while back, awesome look now inside. Good working mans' BBQ. Still have counter service and stools like in the 50s, definitely a piece of Americana. Daily specials and everything is good.

We like to try new to us places & support local business. Based on the ratings, were had high hopes of enjoying great BBQ. Sometimes it's a hit & other times, it's a miss. This one was a disappointment for both my husband & I because our meals were missing the smokey BBQ flavor & the sauce appeared to be mixed with different kinds of peppers (unsure what that was about). They have a clear following; just not our kind of BBQ.

Food is great as has been for years. The customer service has been lacking the last few times. The lady tonight is rude and can't smile for some reason. I hope they can find better help. She stood there and chatted with people at the counter as people waited at both counters. A lady came up but didn't help and went back to the back. The other lady said it was the manager. You would think a manager would see the waiting customers and offer to help.

I wanted to like it. It's so close to me, there's so much history in the restaurant, and I just love barbeque. But this was honestly the worst barbeque I have ever had. The sauce tasted like ketchup and chili powder, and I could hardly choke it down. How anyone could call this barbeque is beyond me. Danny Edward's is literally just a few blocks away. Save your taste buds and go to Danny's if you're in that area.

I've had it all in KC. Not sure why it took me so long to find this original. Best ribs and pulled pork I've had. I met the owner during my visit and had no idea. I thought he was a cook! Awesome guy. Genuinely cared about what I thought and engaged in conversation.

We ate a late lunch at 2:30 and the burnt ends were soggy but still tasty. Maybe they'd be a little crispy/charred if we were there closer to the lunch hour. The ribs were very good. The staff was extremely friendly and laid back. It was a good experience.

Anyone saying there is no flavor must have had all the taste buds removed. KC born and raised and have eaten at Rosedale my entire life. Hands down it is the best BBQ in KC, everything they serve is delicious and very reasonably priced. If you want to try something really special get the Pig Pen sandwich (beef is best). It's a huge sandwich with peppers, onions and pepper jack cheese on it and a mountain of onion straws and fried jalapeño slices to the side (be sure to put some in your sandwich) for $8. You won't be disappointed eating here.

Not a fan of Rosedale bbq, everything on the menu is fried except a couple items. I ordered the 1/2 bbq chicken fully expecting it was going to be a smoked bbq chicken but it was completely fried with no bbq flavor at all. I don’t recommend this place at all if you’re looking for actual bbq.

I had a combo sandwich, turkey and pulled pork. The pork was sauced but still dry. The bun was also sauced, which would have been great, but the sauce was all chili powder and cumin. Overpoweringly so. Girl who took our order gave the impression she did not want to be there or just did not want to wait on us. The crinkle cut fries were very good.

Tasty as always. Not as excellent as some of the more famous, but also no hour long wait just to get food. I've never had a bad meal from Rosedale bbq and it's always been very quick with friendly staff. Portions are nice size and the prices are affordable as well.

For being a long time standard in KC, I expected more. Tried a Beef/Ham combo sandwich. A good portion of both meats on the sandwich. Unfortunately neither was anything special. It was a deli slice ham that was pale and bland. The Brisket tasted like it was cooked yesterday and sliced then heated in a vat of hot liquid. It had visible smoke ring but it was like any smokey flavor was soaked out into the vat of liquid. I'm thinking that after 80 years they've lost the passion that made them such a pillar of KC BBQ!

Food was not exceptional. I got a combo turkey and ham and some baked beans Wich are usually my favorite to get at a BBQ place! beans were like you opened a can of vandecamp baked beans and cut up some onion in it! They sucked, but not as much as the waitress who had an attitude. I know quicks got there start by working at Rosedale BBQ but sorry to say quicks was way better of a BBQ resteraunt

I don't know if my experience was a deviation from most people's experiences here, but I did not like Rosedale. The sauce tasted like a blend of vinegar and ketchup, which I didn't have an affinity for. However, sauce is subjective, I could look past that if I could. But the meat was inexcusable. I ordered the burnt ends, and what I got was a plate of crock pot roast cuts. I didn't detect any smoke or grill cooking at all. I hope I'm wrong about this place, I don't like to be negative about barbecue, but I won't be returning in the near future.

Not worth the trip ! We had a group of 6 for dinner. The line to order was slow and it just went downhill from there. I ordered the beef dinner but it was soooo bad. Mine was like they dumped the crumbs on my plate. Not one slice of meat. Ok. Maybe that is how they do it here. But my friend got the same thing and it was actually sliced meat. Another friend got burnt ends and I have never seen a greasy pool left from burnt ends With all the great bbq in KC. Won’t be back

Unfortunately it's the only place I can grab something to eat at work. It's hot. That's the only good thing I can say. From the outside it smells amazing. The burnt ends aren't burnt at all. If it weren't for the bbq sauce the chopped beef sandwich wouldn't have any flavor. It tastes like the meat is cooked in a regular oven with zero seasoning. Worst bbq I've eaten.

Just stopped in here for a quick dinner a couple days ago. We are from st. Louis but love kc style bbq. The flying pig was awesome. Portions are huge. The sandwich was big enough for two; piled high with fried jalapeños and onions. Mmmm! As a bonus, the mystery beer turned out to be a very tasty craft beer. 5 stars for taste and price!

This is a great hole in the wall restaurant. I got a slider deal. It was three sliders with different meat on each one. All of them were excellent. It is ALOT of food. I was very impressed. Also, the sweet tea here is actually sweet, unlike alot of other places.

This is the best place to get great affordable bbq fast. Not like fast food, but a good place to stop for lunch without taking up your whole lunch break. Assuming you get an hour for lunch. Only takes us about 30 min to get there, eat, and get back to work. The servers really give you solid southern hospitality. I go here for bbq more than any other place in town.

Pull pork was chewy...smh. I order dinner and they put the cole slaw right next to the baked beans and french fries and the pulled pork which made the coleslaw warm should have been in a separate container away from the hot food.
