Fast and friendly service with someone always greeting you when you enter and then when you leave. Prices vary, but as always, served hot and ready to eat.

Fairly priced and usually a great experience there but one once I have been unhappy there. Ordered on of the few dishes that had scallops and order for pick up. The dish was call "The Happy Family". Gotme to enjoy a would be great meal but to my knowledge, there were only to scallops on the whole dish. Although very dissatisfied with that one dish, the food has always been great.

If I could give this place a zero I would. My Fiancé and I went to have dinner Tuesday evening after picking up our clothes from the cleaners that is right next door. We both had different Items that day. I had the Orange Shrimp and he had the General chicken. Literally the very next day we both woke up throwing up, Chills, and Diarrhea. I had to miss work yesterday. I called the company as a courtesy not looking for a free meal (because after all I am literally scared to eat anything else from here) we didn't even ask for our money back. The person who picked up the phone hung up on me. I called back the second time with my Fiancé on the line and he told us to come in and talk. He stated he did not have time for us and had nothing to say. Here we are customers who have been eating here for years just looking for a simple apology and to warn of food poison and this is how we were treated. I am very upset that I have gave you all the business we have in the past but I will warn others PLEASE BE CAREFUL. I AM ALSO FILING A REPORT WITH WHOEVER I CAN BECAUSE THIS IS VERY UNCALLED FOR.

Good food, good prices, but an ongoing argument in the kitchen meant we received our dinners over a 10 minute stretch and then had to keep an eye over our shoulder as shouting and angry staff members passed in and out of the swinging kitchen door. Bad look for our first visit.

Rice house consistently has large portions of hot tasty food. At worst, their wait times can be a bit long since they actually make food to order. If you're looking for a nicer Chinese place to eat at, this is a good mix between price and quality. I ate here on Christmas day and sat at the booth behind Lilian Katz, who left a review below. Even though I'm a repeat customer, I'm only writing this because I thought she would be leaving a review. Lilian was a nasty customer to frantic staff. She was throwing a fit loud enough that I stopped talking over dinner so that I could observe the tantrum. Staff acknowledged her reservation and, despite the building being incredibly crowded and busy, moved a table and a chair around for her small group (15 minutes, tops). When she had arrived, Rice House had a party of 10+, were cleaning up from a party of 12 with messy children that had just left, and had a line out the door. Staff were very patient with Lilian and did a great job by finding her a seat so quickly. After staff found her a booth with a chair, she walked out 5 minutes later after complaining to her family about how "ridiculous" this was. I think Rice House did an excellent job at handling a nasty woman--- and good riddance.

Wow best chinese food I've had in a very long time! I ordered takeout and tried to eat a crab rangoo and burnt my mouth! So the food is definitely fresh and quick pick up service. Only thing that threw me off a little was how rude the guy at the front desk was. But oh well awesome food

I love this place. They have good size portions at really decent prices. Everything comes out fresh and hot which is a big plus. Try their Schezuan shrimp, kung pao chicken, mei fun noodles and fried rice. Getting a crab rangoon and egg roll at dinner time is a great perk that is generally available only at lunch time at most other Chinese restaurants. Sure there are other more authentic places but for sheer fresh food at down to earth prices, this place simply cannot be beaten.

Some really great dishes here. I particularly like Mei Fun made Singapore style with only vegetables. It is the rice noodles. It is fresh and has curry. The hot and sour soup is among the best I have ever had.

Food is always good, but beware of pick-up orders. Third time in six weeks that something has been missing from my order. Shame on me, I guess. After first time, guess I should double-check. Asked them this timetim bring me missing items. "We don't do that. Credit!!". Sadly, Won't get back.

It’s your typical Americanized Chinese food, which in general I’m not fond of. Yet, I give it 5 stars for the excellent Long Life Noodle Soup, which only one other place has in KC. Chicken, shrimp, spinach, fried egg, and rice noodles in chicken broth....mmmmmm. The gals working the dining room are also fast and attentive. Great place for a quick lunch.

As far as Chinese restaurants go, I would say slightly above average. The prices are a shade higher than I am used to, but the portions are solid so I can''t complain too much. I have had an issue with takeout though, I have requested no mushrooms twice and still had my plates with mushrooms. I wouldn't mind so much, but they really use an egregious amount of mushrooms. Oh well!

I think the meat is above average for dine-in Chinese food. I didn't care for how things were seasoned, but that's a matter of taste. The General Tso was not very spicy and the cashew chicken was heavy on cucumber and a bit bland. I've been twice, and both times, the server seemed fairly indifferent. If you find a dish prepared the way you like it, you'll probably really like it, because the quality of ingredients seems good. Without the quality, would have been lower-rated.

Food wasn't like back home in St. Louis, but big menu. Inexpensive prices, quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Football game playing on the TV. Service was friendly, but the team seems a little shy/quiet. They do come out and fill your drinks, and bring you to go boxes.

My fiancé and I have ordered from Rice House for years. They are the only take out that has consistently impressed us. We have tried other take outs due to a deal and were sorry we didn’t get our usual Rice House! They always have white meat chicken, fresh vegetables and the best fried rice! It’s light and fluffy as opposed to others that are oily and sticky... The dinner specials are always fantastic and a good deal! My fiancé has gotten general taos every time we have ordered and it always impresses. I change between kung bao chicken, mixed vegetables and vegetable fried rice over the years and I have always been happy with their quality! Their rangoons are excellent-granted we like the kind that has mostly cream cheese. The spring rolls are bomb, too!! All in all, I would recommend anyone to order from Rice House! By far our favorite!

It's a Thursday. I arrived at 9pm, they close at 9:30pm. My friend had arrived 20 minutes earlier. We ordered our meals after I arrived. Two appetizers came out quickly and tasted good. The snow pea beef was also good and the service was attentive. We were only customers there. Bill came to $30, plus $5 tip, so 35. We didn't feel rushed to leave. I had to take half my dinner as a doggie bag, so tomorrow's lunch is taken care of.

The rice is good but not great, in addition the lady behind the counter gave me false information. I asked for fried rice and I was told there was only one size and was charged 9 something. I came back to the location about 7 weeks later and I was given a choice of small or large sized container. The larger container was 9 dollars but the smaller container was only 7 dollars and some change. I have had better rice for a cheaper price but to each its own!!.

I thought they were a decent restaurant until i ordered carry out and got bad food. The chicken was hard and chewy. We couldnt eat it. We tried to take it back and they were absolutely horrible. Yelling at each other in chinese in front of me and looking at me angrily. They had looked like normal people before that. My family had been there several times, are very polite and tip well. He refused to take it back except for 1 meal. And he would only replace it no return. Just crazy. I just told him just to keep the meals and ill probably never come back again. Being a business owner, with a family and living in the area that probably amounts to loosing 50-100 meals per year. Plus all the friends ill warn off of it. They need basic PR lessons for running a restaurant. Its back to Bolings from now on. The only chinese place where the food is consistent and they treat their customers right.

So I am a strict vegetarian regularly I order just the plain egg fried rice. Its perfect for me. I recently went to place a regular order and was DENIED SERVICE. Without the purchase of a [full] entree I couldn't get the egg fried rice with added scallion. [Thats like ordering a small fry without a bigmac--(who cares??)]The staff said the Chef didn't want to prepare a small dish without the purchase of a an entire entree. What?? So disappointed. My family orders, a host of friends. I just didn't understand why I couldn't buy just a side of rice. There are no restrictions on the menu!! Goodbye Rice House. -- LUDACRIS. Make up rules as you go.

Exactly the Chinese eats we've been looking for since moving to the KC area 3 years ago. A great neighborhood Chinese Cafe.. Rice House is a clean place with courteous, fast service before and after the meal. Lunch prices and selections are very reasonable. Food is tasty and plentiful. We will definitely return.

Terrible, terrible service. I don't think I've ever left a restaurant feeling so upset. The man who took my walk in order barely acknowledged me. No hello, thank you or goodbye. It was as though it was painful for him to have to take my order, like I had inconvenienced him in some way. I haven't even tried the food yet but that interaction made me lose my appetite. To be honest, the food could be the best Chinese food in the world but I'll never visit this establishment again.

Should be 0 star, but a review can’t be made without at least 1 star. Made reservations over a week before Christmas for Christmas dinner for my family. Arrived at our time of reservation and no table was available. When a table was set-up another employee sat a group of people who arrived after we did. The manager told the employee that the table was for us but neither one of them did anything. We finally left after 30 minutes. Thank you Rice House for spoiling our family Christmas dinner. We will no longer be giving you any of our business.

I ordered the chicken and broccoli and wanted a different sauce but wasn't sure what I was looking for and the guy on the phone knew exactly what I was talking about!! Crab Rangoons are amazing!! Doesn't get any better in KC
