I’ve always been a fan of Res Snapper, though I’ve only been a few days. Every time I’ve gone so far, the staff always seems to be slow. Sure, they’re friendly and helpful, but it takes fifteen minutes for me to be greeted after being seated. Outside of that the food is good. The price is a little on the high end, but you’re paying for the neighborhood in which you’re eating. Overall, good place to visit.

I used to eat lunch here often when I worked closer. Took family here today(3 kids). Although we were there at an off-peak time on a Sunday the server was attentive and excellent he helped us pick out some items that the kids would like and I was able to get my favorite the house beef. Don't let the name confuse you although they do sell red snapper you can get other more traditional Chinese type dishes.

Update: Not sure what they are doing. Beef lomain was unseasoned? The place is clean and food quality is high. The staff are friendly, however it took nearly 10 minutes to place my to go order. Beef on a stick was a bit overcooked with little seasoning. Mongolian beef was good, however the jalapenos were a bit unusual. Prices match the portions.

It was really busy today but we did't have a very good meal. The Kung Pao was sickningly sweet which wasn't stated on menu, drink was way too strong and chili oil had no taste. Better luck next time.

I absolutely love this place!! I had a bad experience with their shrimp one day so now I just avoid dishes with shrimp. But this is definitely my go to place for Chinese (Mandarin) food. My favorite is Classic Mandarin with chicken and an order of salmon rangoon. Go during lunch for the best value.

Today I have one of my favorite TomYum seafood noodle soup again... Yum, yum, yum ... lots lots of big shrimps, big mussels. The best pan Asian restaurant in Kansas City!

Whenever I visit KC this is one of my favorite stops. The pad thai is perfect and feeds me for a couple meals. The salmon ran goon is unlike anything else also a favorite dish.

Food awesome!!! Would have enjoyed more veggies in the gemeral tsos. Service was phenomenal!!! We we en route to a 2.5 hour movie so my waitress whose name i cannot remember (so sorry sweetie) packed our leftovers up and kept them in a cooler until we returned. Had kind of a mixed experience. General Tso’s shrimp was pretty good. Teriyaki salmon was terrible. Didn’t know it was possible to find salmon that tasteless. Our apps were ok but the sauces for them were meh. Service was pretty good and food came quickly. Might try again but not any time soon. Had high hopes but we left disappointed.

This is a Pan Asian restaurant that had a bit of cuisine from multiple countries. An offering of Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and others caters to a wide variety of tastes. There is a good selection of spicy dishes. The place was full on a week day for lunch and the food did not disappoint. If you are out for a casual dinner near the Ward Parkway mall, Red Snapper is a good choice for dining.

I have been dining at Red Snapper for years, their salmon rangoon is the best in town! I had a company party at Red Snapper and the food was excellent, service was prompt, we had a great time overall. They have a room you can reserve that accommodated the 40-50 people we had in our group. Will be coming back!

The food was fantastic! The server sucked. We only received part of our orders; two people never got their food. Rather than apologize and put in an On the Fly/911 ticket, she blamed the kitchen and never brought it out. The food that came out was amazing though.

Used to be great, now they're not. Don't know if there was a shift in management or culinary staff, or both, but the food just ain't what it used to be. These guys used to have the best eggrolls in town, but those days are gone. The servers are friendly, but dangerously under-trained. Avoid unless you like overpaying for stingy portions of extremely bland Asian dishes.

We ordered the Kun Pun beef, and it was great, but definitely a new recipe. Previously it had very thin batter, crispy but well-covered in the signature hot, sweet vinegar sauce. This was more like orange chicken, very syrupy and sweet. The spring rolls were perfect, and each was very large. The Pad Thai was a bit watery, but great texture and flavor.

The hot and sour soup lacked flavor except for an over done sourness and a bitter after taste. The stir fry broccoli was full of canned vegetables, some sort of shoot. Those canned vegetables ruined the whole dish. New guy on appetizers made some wonky shrimp rolls and at that point I was fed up with the whole lousy affair. Try a different Chinese food restaurant.

One of the Best Pan-Asian Restaurants in Kansas City. This hidden gem is right off 85th Street, tucked in the northeast corner of a small stripmall, between Stateline Road and Ward Parkway, so it can be easy to miss. I’ve found in life, you can only get two of the following three things: something good, something fast, or something cheap. If you’ve found all three in something, please let me know what it is. With Red Snapper, you get food that is good and fast. For starters, we ordered the Smoked Salmon Rangoon (six for $6.25), which were crispy shells filled with cream cheese and smoked salmon. While they were good and we gobbled them up pretty quick, they were marginally better than the ones you would find at a typical Chinese buffet. With two kids in tow, we ordered three entrees to split up. The first was the Kun Pun Shrimp ($19; you can get the beef for $1 less), which was deep fried shrimp sautéed with dried chili pepper; we also added a medley of vegetables for $2 extra. The dish was delicious—lots of flavor, at the lowest spice level (of course, you can bump up the spice). The shrimp was crispy and came in an array of sizes (medium to jumbo); it’ll be hard not to get this entrée every time. We also ordered the Thai Coconut Red Curry Stir Fry with coconut milk, red bell peppers, fresh basil, edamame, bamboo shoots, and asparagus. You can order it with tofu ($12), chicken ($13), beef ($15), shrimp ($16), or a two-option combo ($17)—we got it with tofu. This dish was a homerun with a creamy, delicious curry you want to drown every ingredient in, and thank goodness the rice sops every drop up. We got this at the lowest spice level and you can bump it up. The tofu was cooked perfectly before it was added, so it did not fall apart in the dish. The third and final entrée was their House Chicken ($15; you can get the beef version for $16), which is their signature, most popular, dish; and comes with delicious chicken (or flank steak) slices, marinated in a special garlic sauce and served on a bed of cabbage—we added a medley of vegetables ($2 extra) to this one too. We would recommend this dish for kids, as it comes with no spice and the garlic sauce is on the sweet side. As I mentioned above, Red Snapper is good, fast, but not cheap. However, we left with A LOT of leftovers (enough for a lunch for the whole family) and they were delicious the next day. Having the flavors merry overnight intensified them and made the dishes even better. The service was great—we were quickly seated and our server was very attentive with drink refills and other requests. I wish I could give Red Snapper a 4.5 rating, but will round down on this one (I rarely dole out 5s).

This place is MOSTLY phenomenal. The house drinks are all delicious but take a long time. The appetizers all sound amazing but after having had 6 different ones, I've concluded they're just o.k.. This includes their soups. But holy my COW, ALL of their entrees are amazing! It's a weird paradox to most restaurants but serious recommendation, skip the fillers and just get a HUGE portion of something delicious. The Kun Pun Chicken is by far my favorite. Super crispy and bite sized pieces of chicken. And I that garlic pepper sauce is one of a kind. It's a bit on the pricey side but super worth it if you stick to entrees and drinks. We went with 4 of us with 3 appetizers, 3 drinks, and 4 entrees for $119 without tip. Not bad. We were all very happy and will be back again and again! Must try!

We get the YongJongPi here. It's great. Between my wife, myself and our two young sons, we can all share a plate. So the meal is actually pretty affordable for us. The place is clean, including the bathrooms (bit no diaper changing station in the men's room). The staff is nice. We haven't had to wait long and the parking has always worked out well. The food is good, including by my Korean wife's reconning.

I hate sounding mean on a review, I usually won't comment at all if I am not pleased just so I won't sound like a privileged customer, but I just plain didn't like the food. I am not from Kansas City I visit there from California once maybe twice a year and I always stop at red snapper to get the salmon cream cheese rangoon's. This is the best thing I've ever had especially because I am allergic to shellfish. The food is really good the service is good. I have never had a complaint. This is a must go to if you love good Chinese food.

Our meal was very good, as usual. Many of us had their House Beef. Their menu has a lot of variety. Red Snapper's good is almost always terrific. Their dining room hadn't changed but they keep it up well. Their service was slow today and our meal came at almost the same time as our soup. I look forward to going back.
