Red Dragon had some of the best tasting Chinese food for an affordable price. It is located conveniently in the heart of downtown. The staff is super kind and very on top of it. Never have I felt treated better by staff. It is defientely a hidden gem in downtown Kansas City.

This is my favorite Chinese place in KC. I live about 30 minutes away but it's worth the drive. I always get the Kung Pao triple delight. My husband has tried several things and has never been disappointed. I'm usually not an egg drop soup fan, but theirs is fresh, with just the right amount of spice. We always receive great service, and I love the space it's in-- the tall windows and brick walls. I feel like it's one of the city's little hidden gems.

Food did not taste safe to me, tasted like the chicken had been cooked days before then just sat in a bucket of water along with other dead chicken parts until the time it took to throw it in the wok for 20 seconds with my vegetables and sauce. Edit: the vegetables aren't frozen.

Ordered the general tso chicken. The chunks of chicken were huge, almost as if they put the sauce over a whole chicken breast and served it. I asked if they could take the veggies out of my fried rice, that was not done. I dont know if they were in a rush when fulfilling my order but they failed. It was my 1st & last time going there.

We were looking for good Chinese food downtown and we have found it. The service, food, and prices were all great. For the lunch menu, you pick an entree and you get a choice of soup, fried rice and either an egg roll or crab rangoon. Lunch prices are in the range of $5 to $7. We were quite impressed and we will be back soon!

I live upstairs and get takeout from here at least once every two weeks or so. Great food, I really like the Kung Pao Shrimp which has some really delicious mushrooms and toasted peanuts. Everything I’ve had here is great. There’s a lot of variety on the menu.

We thought we would try this restaurant that has been around for a long time. Unfortunately I can only describe it as OK. We started with hot a d sour soup. It was in a beef broth that was not thickened and not seasoned much. Egg rolls and crab rangoons will also ok but not exceptional. The Moo Shoo pork was good. Service was good but wait staff was a bit strained having to work as hostess, bus person and waitress all at once.

The Red Dragon House is the best Chinese food around. The decor is a bit dated, but works well and fits in with the historic building. The food is good quality, well prepared, plentiful, served fresh and hot, and tasty. The menu has a lot of variety. The service is friendly and helpful. About as perfect as it gets for a quick lunch fix. Their 7 day a week lunch specials from 11AM to 3PM Daily run between $6.05 for Pork and Chicken Dishes to $6.59 for the Beef and Shrimp options. The specials come with a choice of soup and egg roll or crab ragoon. Been eating here for nearly 11 years now and have never once had a complaint. It's not the best in town but for the value and quality of service I'd be hard pressed to find an alternative.

They are open 7 days a week, and lunch specials (which are an incredibly great value) run from 11-2 I believe. Red Dragon is a hidden treasure in the KC downtown loop.

What a great place for oriental food. Staff is friendly and helpful. It maybe a good idea to split your meal because portions are very large. The only downfall to this restaurant is the restroom is downstairs and inconvenient. No kid menu here.

Stopped right after work to pick up dinner. I ordered general tao, eggs rolls and crab Rangoon. The general tao was in a soy sauce stew it tasted awful and literally they put 8 large pieces of chicken in there and that's all. Fortunately the egg rolls and crab Rangoon were okay because that was our dinner. The to go box with the chicken was spilling over stew when I got home to open it. I will never go back to this place again.

I give it 2 stars because the customer service was great and the restaurant itself is located is a beautiful historic building but the food was not good at all. I ordered the kung Pao lunch special. Everything from the funky fried wontons to the eggroll, fried rice and main dish tasted day old. The kung pao was also extremely salty. I'm was really hungry and can always eat an ok meal took a bite of each thing and I was done.

This is one of the best hidden gems in the downtown area. It's a bit of a walk from the convention center and hotels, but this place offers the some of the best Chinese food in the area at a very affordable price. The staff is also incredibly friendly and gives a very welcoming vibe to anyone who stops in. This is a must stop if you stay in the downtown area.

The atmosphere has never changed and I hope it never will. I have only done carry out - but I will give this place 5 stars because they have some pretty damn delicious fried rice. Its basically all I get at any Chinese place - some kind of fried rice order with egg rolls. The chicken fried rice and beef fried rice and combo fried rice.....the taste is so good it literally stays stuck to your tongue for a while after. I have to brush my teeth after I eat to get that flavor out - but I can't complain because its delicious. I live 2 blocks away so its really nice to have some great Chinese fried rice every few weeks.
