This Restaurant is included in the category of Sandwich shop.
So so so GOOD! I had the porchetta sandwich with black truffle aioli and arugula. Will definitely be back
Plenty of tasty options on the menu for reasonable prices. Really flavorful sauces avalible to add and appreciated the non plastic knife and straw. Pigwhich Patty was slightly saltier than I prefer but balanced out with some chips.
This place has really good food. I've tried several different things and have liked everything I've had this far! Their specials are usually really good too!
Needs more seating but this is a great spot for lunch
Best brisket sandwich Ive ever had!
This was the first time I had been to pigwich/local pig. The location is brand new for this established business formerly a tenant of the east bottoms of Kansas City. I had the pork tenderloin and French fries. It did not disappoint. My friend had the east bottom burger and fries which he said was also good. I will go back again and eat again!
Finally made it to the new location and I love it! Finally a nice warm place to sit when it cold and the food is amazing as it was before. Highly highly recommend this place!!!
I love Pigwich! It used to be close enough for me to almost walk to down in the east bottoms. Now they are in the City Market, a better location, the food is soo good here. Delicious! The brisket sandwich is my favorite! The price is reasonable
A little skeptical at first, but completely blown away by how good the food is
Great place to go to hang out with freinds. The food is great. And is close to other activities
Okay food, over priced.
Fantastic food at an affordable price. I expect these guys to get big if they choose
Ok. Fries are separate. Not cool
Definitely one of the best restaurants in KC. Still trying to work my way through the menu
Loved loved loved the welcoming dining decor!!!!! Dining room was extremely spacious with slide out benches and colorful straws in a container on every table. The sweet potato fries are to die for!!!!! They are crisped to ultimate perfection! This restaurant has modern flavor with 50s diner class and upbeat decor. The food was served quickly and with all the fixings. My boyfriend and I also visited the convenient butcher shop next door and they had an assortment of meat and flavor. We purchased a $3 XL doggie bone for our fur baby on the way out. I will definitely be returning to this future KC hotspot!
Friendly prices for amazing pork sandwiches!!! (Also chicken and falafel options)
Absolutely great creative sandwiches, made on the premises chips at a reasonable price. Also a small butcher shop with great looking meats and a variety of sausages etc.
Very good sandwiches, some of the best I've had in KC. There is no AC so can get very hot. The corned beef special was very good.
Love the new location in River Market. Expanded Menu. Good seating-indoors and out.
Fantastic. Visited twice in one day.
On our quest to try all of the places at City Market, we wandered into Pigwich, which looked popular and had tray after tray of delicious-looking food being delivered to customers. However, the person at the counter wasn't really paying attention to what we were ordering and wrote down fries as both of our sides when we'd wanted chips and sweet potato fries. When we got our food, (after convincing a different worker to give is chips instead of one of the orders of fries) the buns to our sandwiches were cold, which was disappointing after having an order wrong anyway. I must say though, the spicy meatballs on my banh mi sandwich were absolutely delicious.
This is my favorite local place. There's nothing here that isn't delicious. The Pigwich, the burgers, the chips. It's all incredible. (Same goes for the butcher side, The Local Pig. Buy the bacon jalapeno rubbed or cracked black pepper. The steaks are out of this world.) The new space is great and they've added more choices now that there's a restaurant. Pork brisket and buffalo chicken (pictured, respectively) are both worth trying.
Got the pigwich with a craft beer. Pigwich had all different flavors (hot, sweet, and coleslaw that calms it down). Delicious sandwich.
The food is phenomenal and the customer service is incredible!
Had an awesome time at an opening night for the new Pigwich on 5th! Awesome cheesesteaks and sandwiches, and wonderful vibe and environment. The kids can stay busy in the play area and adults will love perusing the shelves and the great food. Highly recommend and we will be back! Thanks, Matt, for a great experience! :-)
Amazing food and great service. Always pleasant to grab food here.
Pretty great place for a BBQ sammich.
Great good and fun location
Amazing food great atmosphere, the gentlemen at the meat counter was awesome, friendly and extremely knowledgeable.
Very disappointed.. i got the banh mi. Told the guy to take extra bread out and they said.. okay. Super dry bread and meatballs. No thanks!
Food was pretty good.. not awsome but will definitely hit the spot if ur craving a good pork sandwich
I don't know how I did it, but I dined and dashed here. The strippers here were mostly obese so I wasn't scared of escaping. Best name for a strip club ever!
I only ordered one item off the menu, so my review is based solely off of the Big Pig. The Big Pig is pork tenderloin, a smoked pulled pork burger, jalapeño pickles, ranch dressing (I got it on the side), and pepperjack cheese on a bun. This is a sizable sandwich and plenty to share. It's so big that they have to put a knife in each side to keep it together!
Can't go wrong at Pigwich. Not a wrong choice on the menu. All locally sourced and all fantastic.
So shocked I’ve never been here before lol. Buts it great. All their burger
Love pigwich food
Great food fast friendly.
Stopped in while walking through the city market today for some lunch with the family, and unfortunately this was not a good experience. We ordered brisket, entirely too salty. also the short rib burger, says that its braised beef but tasted more like sausage. Also they had a special carnitas torta, also way too salty. If they would had lightened up on the salt i dont think it would have been too bad.
Delicious. Nice laid back spot for good eats just before a show down the street. Location is odd and may want to consider plans on avoiding crossing the tracks if (heavy train traffic) and trying to listen to GPS giving you the "fastest route" to the hwy.
Easley one of my favorite establishments in Kansas City. Reasonably priced, made to order, high-quality, fast food. Outdoor dining, indoor butcher shop. The best place to find the largest selection of fresh and exotic meats.
Ran by this point place for lunch while on a work trip in KC and got an incredible sandwich and fresh made potato chips. I wish it were around the corner from my house, I would drop in all the time. The flavors of the sandwich were perfectly balanced to accentuate the quality of the meat, well done!
Outstanding quality food and innovative sandwiches. Minus one star for long lunch wait times and little seating in inclement weather.
Great sandwich. Reasonably priced for the city market area.
I had the east bottoms burger. It was amazing different flavors all working together in harmony. Quality of beef tasted above average for a burger joint. Highly recommend will definitely return and bring friends.
Best sandwich/burger place everrr. Do not come here if you're watching your calories. The fries were good even when cold, which says a lot. I had the butterscotch bacon marshmallow treat, it was also good. It parallels what a rice Krispy treat is. I had a spicy jalapeno burger and I can say that the only other place that makes burgers that I give 5 stars is burger stand in Lawrence.
Love this place!!!! Amazing sandwiches, hilarious and friendly staff, great drink pairings. Bonus you can get fresh cut meats for the next day at the butcher shop next door. I think this place is a MUST try when visiting kc, and all locals should add it to your bucketlist/weekly rotation.
Fast service. Tasty. I like their chips. Nice seating area
Had been a while and it was still as good as I remember.
This place is amazing. Whoever the chef is deserves an award. The off menu specials are brilliant.
The meat is butchered right in front of you and literally carved off the carcass. I don't think the food can get any fresher than that.
Try the Pigwich! Yummy
My wife went here for dinner tonight and I have to say I was reluctant to try because I am a chef. Let me say a couple things amazing quality, clean, friendly, we had the porchetta with olive tapenade and sauteed arugula. You could taste every element of this sandwich. Layered perfect. The home made frys and chips perfectly cooked not greasy. Hands down my new favorite. Try this place it is very good priced and worth all the money Thank You. ChefJerry
The new location is an upgrade from the old and still no sacrifice on quality, customer service, prices it seems. Excited to see this place in the summer taking off on market days. Do yourself the favor and check this place out, it's a definite for meats and such.
I went in last friday to the new location. Ordered a cheesesteak fries and iced tea. Iced tea tasted rotten. Good job manager checking the tea to make sure its ok. Fries were WAY to salty. Not sure what kind of meat was on the cheesesteak. More like hamburger. Can't anyone just do a regular sandwich anymore? And did it have mayo on it? Come on man. And all five star reviews??? Really? Google has gotten useless as everybody gives five stars.
Great sandwiches, always a line but it moves quickly. Nice outdoor patio and a loud, clean inside group of tables.
This place is amazing! They have a huge selection of fresh meats you can buy, including rabbit, duck, lamb, beef and, of course pork. The food that they cook is incredible. My wife and I had the Pigwich and it was perfect. We highly recommend this spot!
I had the brisket sandwich which was the daily special. It was totally delicious. I mean really special. Funky industrial atmosphere. Great butcher shop connected. I bought lamb neck to cook later, which is not an easy cut to find in KC. The butcher shop smells right when you walk in.
I was a little sad to see the food truck look let go, but tremendously happy to see the new expanded menu! I'd love to see something with chicken on the menu though.
OMG! Unbelievable! From out of town, saw the great reviews and really looked forward to it. What a disappointment! The decor ambience were all fine, service was fine. BUT, the food was NOT atable! Ordered 3 different: the pigwich was barely ok, salty; the short rib burger tasted weird, saltier than the pigwich; the pork brisket was the worse, incredibly salty and dry meat. Have we stepped into the wrong place? Or, since we were there as it opened, were we given leftovers from yesterday? Or, do Kansas City residents really enjoy such salty food?
First time there. I had the brisket sandwich and sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious.
Always worth the wait.(the wait is never very long)
Love this place. Sandwiches are always great and the meat counter is amazing!
I really liked this quirky butchershop restaurant combo. Their back board bacon is amazing. As for the restaurant, I had the sweet potato fries, cheesesteak and a tea my husband had the tenderloin sandwich. My 3 year old picky eater had the "pig fries". Cheese steak was good but felt dry with the very thick bread. My husband loved the size of his sandwich but felt there was "too much bread(ing)" my 3year old ate chips, and the pig fries and even dipped in the garlic aioli. The pig fries are to die for. Order these and take them home and dip in mashed potatoes!
Cool atmosphere. Good sandwichs. I got the cheese steak. I was disappointed that it was ground beef as apposed to steak but still very tasty.
Excellent food! I got meat on greens to avoid carbs. Fast service and all packaging looks biodegradable!!
Amazing food to get messy with!
the only better sandwich you get is in New York City, and yes that's where im from 12 years in KC MO and finally found a sandwich place that makes me excited..try the lamb meatloaf when its on the off menu special..heavenly
The food is great. The line moves fast.
Great food sourced from local farmers. Great staff that are super friendly and helpful. A definite spot to the check out.
First time and I will go back!
One of the best places in town to eat when you're short on time. Quick friendly service and great sandwiches.
Amazing sandwiches at a fair price
I just had the "West Bottoms Burger". It was perfect! Just enough sauce, and packed with the right flavors!
Love this spot! I’m pretty sure I already wrote a review for them in Yelp, but oh well what’s another great one! The food is amazing as well as the atmosphere! They kept the same energy as they had when they were in their previous location! I love getting the brisket sandwich! Their pickles are kosher and yummy as well!
Excellent sandwiches and a great place to visit at the Kansas City river market
Great food, great service and newly expanded menu is awesome!
Everytime I go here the food is incredible and unusual and the price is fair.
Went on Sunday after being ignored at a different restaurant in City market. I am so glad we went here instead. The people were super nice and the food...omg was it good. I would suggest the Pigwich meal. Will go back again and soon. Thank you for making us feel welcomed.
You have to plan your visit carefully because this place gets very busy because it's so good. There is a great variety of sandwiches that will satisfy any pallet. With a vegetarian and creative takes on a cheese steak you will find something to enjoy for sure. Great quality ingredients and friendly service always result in a satisfying visit.
This place is a hidden gem. I am so glad that we found it! They make one the best Phillies in town! (minus the Dijon mustard.) The meat and bread is just pure quality. You can see and taste the difference! They make their food with great care! The butcher shop inside is also quite amazing! There are so many options at reasonable prices! The staff is friendly and knows their stuff. You can watch them in action as they process the meats! Just talking about it makes me want to go! Highly recommended!
Stopped in yesterday visiting from NWA.. I generally don’t love pork , but my fiancé wanted to try it. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.. wanted to go back today, but had to leave town in the morning :( will be back the next time we are here for sure!!!
I read reviews, I came, I saw, I ate, it was great. The staff was friendly and efficient. Their menu was simple and delicious.
Cheesesteak had a unexpected unappetizing sauce of some sort. Ordered sweet potato fries and got steak fries. Definitely lots of other options for food in the river market.
I have never had a bad sandwich here. The cheesesteak is incredible, the tenderloin is massive, the banh mi is superb. Pick up some local meat from the butcher shop ok your way out
Very good food and friendly staff. We got the namesake Pigwich and the Buffalo sandwich and were very happy. The dining room gets very loud when busy, though, which makes it hard to hear when they call your name from behind the counter when your food is ready. The seats are also very close to maximize space, but can be overwhelming if you have personal space issues. If that bothers you, I recommend going during an off hour, but definitely visit while in the market.
Delicious sandwiches. Wonderful employees. Good times.
These guys always deliver! I'm so impressed with the people and food. Seriously delicious.
Can't go to the city market without stopping in for the namesake sandwich from pigwich! Still like to get it with the chips. It's a classic!
Super fresh and delicious! You won’t be disappointed by grabbing a bite to eat here! The meat is local which adds to the freshness and the atmosphere is great. They are true professional artist in sandwich making.
Great food! Good service and cheap tall boys during happy hour
The Pigwich and Local Pig has moved locations from the East bottoms. Pigwich is a restaurant and the local pig is a butcher shop. I have been to the butcher area many times and the have excellent choices cut meats. This time I visited the pigwich for the first time to eat. I tried a manager special and Philly cheese steak with fries. Did not take them long to prepare the food considering the amount of people that were in there at the time when I stopped in. The food came out with an excellent presentation and taste just as delicious. I would have to say they do put their little special twist on their sandwiches! I would go back to try some other menu items and would recommend this place.
Sandwiches are huge. We only ate half brought rest home. They are very busy but good service. Lots of tables inside and outside. Good tasted great
Great location, fabulous food, fun atmosphere, budget friendly.
This place is fantastic! Admittedly it was a little hard to find, but worth it. I've had the Pigwich and Cheese burger. They were amazing! The home made chips are delicious. Normal meal is $9.00, witch is a bargain for the quality of the food you get. They also offer a variety of sausage, cuts of meat, and specialty deli items too. 10/10 I will definitely come back again.
Great sandwiches and fries, reasonably priced and fast service.
This place is great. Love the new location. Sandwiches are still amazing. Had a Bahn Mi and BBQ Bomb. Both excellent quality. I regret not taking a picture.
Decent prices, good meat
Everything on the menu is delicious. Eat here.
The dinning room was nice. The cashier was quite pleasant and helpful. I will recommend your restaurant highly.
Great butcher shop, and the restuarant the food is the bomb..
This place is amazing! I was working in KC for about 2 months and probably ate here at least once or twice a week. the Philly cheesesteak sandwich was the best I have ever had. perfect mix of spice and flavor. I'm now on New Orleans and have been craving one since I got here. The crew up there were gracious enough to give me instructions on how to make one as close as possible to theirs till I can make it back up there. THANK YOU!
Incredible butchery & sandwich shop! I had the East bottom burger, a burst of flavors that all compliment and enhance the flavor of the beef. We left with rabbit to make a stew, a dozen eggs, 2lbs of "bone in" bacon and a few slices of the best head cheese I've ever had! Definitely check this place out!
This looks like the place to find all those specialty meats flaunted in magazines like "bon appetite"! Thank you, Pigwich, for your meaty magic. Moving to the City Market soon so it won't be as out of the way, but their popularity will likely keep them super busy!
Fantastic for something different and it's pretty fast too. Love the patio as well. All around solid place to eat a casual meal.
Great food. Outdoors is great when the weather is great. Indoors good too. Cleaned place
Excellent food great atmosphere
Great sandwich and beer selection.
Quality, flavor, serving size and price make this a no brainer. We will be back. Wife got the pigwich and I got the big pig. Delicious
Five stars for their offering to the local community. Hit: Meats: wow, look good Smoked Pig Heart: wow, savory candy House Pickles: wow, hints of white wine vinegar? Duck Eggs: wow, should be more popular Miss: Head Cheese (1/19/2019): salty af, but potential is there
I wish you would extend you hours. Some of the best BBQ in KC & that's say'in something.
This place is amazing. We watched them cart in the meat. It was delicious and they had a great kids corner. If you eat pork, this is perfect. Good bbn priced kids meals and my picky kid ate the whole meal.
The good first. It was clean, efficient, and the staff are nice. My sweet potato fries are great. Now for the bad... sandwich, fries, and drink, cost $15. Plus $1 for parking. The pork brisket was not slow cooked the way it should have been and there was an excess of fat. Pork brisket should be tender and fall apart in your mouth not feel like your chewing gum. At least the bun was quality. And good job on the paper straws, I support helping the environment. Probably will not eat here again though, KC general bbq practices have ruined me and I expect better quality.
Good food that noone else has.
Food was wonderful!! You could really taste the freshness in the meats. Hard to find non-processed meats used in a restaurant!
Good food, awesome service. It's in the middle of a bustling city market as well. Also, meat comes from local sources. Support local businesses, y'all!
Got the pigwich - it and the ranch had these fresh herbal flavors I wasn't at all expecting and it was on point.
I had traditional pigwich, very tasty. They also make their own chips, or you can get a mini basket of fries. Location found at the rivermarket
This place is great if you like lots of meat.
Good food careful with the pickles they might be very spicy fit some people. Counter ordering then seat yourself. No a.c. inside so if you get warm easily then plan to go with cooler weather our when they first open. An array of meats for sale at their butcher center. A definite place to try in KC River market district.
A good combo of a butcher shop on one side and a BBQ joint on the other side. The sandwich we ordered was tasty but greasy (but kind of expected with this style of BBQ).
The food is great. Prices are not too bad.
I’ve only been here twice but this is so far the greatest burger I’ve ever had. The east bottoms burger is a 10/10 with its creativity and taste. Would recommend
Amazing experience ever! Only place I’ve been where the owner took his time to introduce him self and gave us a warm welcome! Food is amazing! Banh MI is my new favorite.
Great food! I had the pig which sandwich and it was delicious! The other item I saw that looked amazing was the cheese steak!
Was here for lunch and had a great pork brisket sandwich! Deliciousness at is best! And apparently I lost my wallet here because the next morning I was looking for it and got a text from pigwich saying we have your wallet at the front desk of the butcher shop. Stopped in there and had a real nice chat with one of the butchers about what they were all doing there with their shop. Thanks again Pigwich!
Great food. Unique experience
Awesome food. Hopefully it will remain good once they move to City Market.
Lobe this place... Authentic Flavors that can only be Pigwich.. this place is the new home of KC's best burgers, but they are so much more. Dont just eat a burger, treat yourself to the creative flair of Pigwich.
I visited Pigwich for the first time a few weeks ago. I have several food allergies and unknowingly ordered a menu item that was breaded. The staff went above and beyond to get me another meal. I greatly appreciated their hospitality as well as the fantastic food!
Pigwich serves up some really good choices for lunch. I had the pork tenderloin and it was cooked to perfection with seasonings and flavor. I highly recommend eating there if you get the chance. I believe that you will not be disappointed. I'm looking forward to taking the wife and kids as soon as possible.
This was the first time for visiting this place. The food was just amazing and even the get up was super unique. I advise everyone to come to this gem among the railroad tracks!
Great location next to the tram but not designed for wheelchair or stroller access, at least I didn't see it. They have a great selection of lemonades and other flavored drinks, in addition to your regular fountain drinks. The sweet potato fries were really good and the burgers are legit. My brother really enjoyed his sandwich and I would like to come back to try the other sandwiches if I'm in town again...especially since Guy Fieri's been there :-)
This place has an excellent menu BUT many of the cooks are incredibly heavy handed with the salt. The food ranges from 'a bit of saltiness' to 'holy cannoli, I can't eat this it's so salty!' The pig would do 5x the business with less salt. Its otherwise high quality and inexpensive for the location
I've traveled the country and have eaten BBQ from Tennesse, Texas, California, StLouis, and various places around the country. This is one of my favorite places. Especially the brisket sandwich. You honestly dont need sauce on it at all. The quality to meat is next to none and locally sourced. Top notch KC BBQ.
Excellent walk up food. Unique enough to warrant a visit.
Love this spot. Decor is great and loved the outdoor eating area. There was a line out of the door for lunch but it was quick to order. I had the 1/3lb burger. Really tasty burger with tangy relish. We shared the French fries and sweet potato fries. So good! Highly recommend
I really enjoy eating at this restaurant. The menu options are great. Sometimes the food can be a little too salty.
Great local place. With local flavors. We had the smoked pork brisket sandwich. Really good and lots of flavor.
They make the best sandwiches.
Cute place good French fries, not the best bbq in town, but stiff competition! Recommended if you're hungry in the area.
Great new space! One of the best cheesesteaks I've ever had. Don't miss out on eating here. Great beer selection too.
Banh Mi was good, fries are great get the quart
Everyone needs to visit this place and adjoining butcher shop. Great food.
Delicious and reasonably priced. Great selection and the line didn't take too long. Solid craft beer selection and places to sit outside. A sandwich alone will fill you up.
Food was just ok. Ordered the cheese steak sandwich. I asked for no peppers and was informed that the peppers were in a mix with the onions so I could have both or neither. I opted for both, not realizing that the peppers were not green peppers, but jalapenos. I have a sensitive stomach and could not eat it because of this. the fries were great, but also got the handmade potato chips that where both over cooked and cold. Needless to say probably wont go back.
My tenderloin was delish. My husband's Reuben was the worst Reuben: tough chewy meat, weird slaw. He returned the Reuben and it was replaced with a tenderloin sandwich. Rice krispie treats with butterscotch corn flakes and bacon is amazing.
Great food fun location
Most delicious banh mi. Service was quick. Will be back.
Yummy sweet potato fries and the cooks were super nice about giving me more slaw on my pigwhich! We also had the shortrib burger (the winner for taste and texture) and the porchetta (that aoli *drool) definitely good food in a great location!
The eponymous sandwich is awesome!
I went here for the first time and I have one word: amazing! Had the pork brisket. Tangy and sweet, this sandwich blew me away! Will definitely go back and try something different.
Delicious! Very busy for 2:45 in the afternoon, even for a Saturday. Not much seating inside but there's more outside of the weather is nice. Butcher shop attached so you can pick up dinner while you're there.
Awesome deliciousness fullfilling in one sentence!
Very busy and popular spot! You should try to come prior to 1130am for lunch to avoid a long line. Very interesting choices, cute hipster vibe, and quality local ingredients!
Food was excellent. I had a pork tenderloin and it was nothing like any other pork tenderloin IveI ever had. Very thick and very juicy. Also very reasonable priced. $9.
The food of course was great as usual .... But I was disappointed with how much they raised the cost . Used to be one of my favorite lunch spots while visiting k.c now with the meal + drink+ chips with 2 meals and 3 drinks it came up to $30.00 when used to it was half the price. Only downfall .... Location is okay , I miss the Caboose!!
Great food and a sustainable focus
You'd almost expect this place to be featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The dilapidated trailer where you order looks like it was salvaged from a war zone and the outdoor picnic table dining area is also eye-raising but the food is incredible. I had the Pigwich, a pork hamburger and some of my companions had fish sandwiches. We all enjoyed our lunch very much. My meal came with freshly fried french fries - unusual to get those around here.
