Forget the burden of not knowing what to order. This place has a buffet! Everything is good!
I'm sad to say this but I was not happy with my carry-out meal. I got lamb curry and the price was about $20. For that amount I expect a good portion that will give me some leftovers. There was not enough meat to even feel full. I cooked some peas at home to bulk it up. The flavor was good, but not nearly enough food for the price.
Very good!
Food is not good at all.
Great food! Comfortable. Nice folks.
Delicious! So many vegan options.
Great authentic dishes. The buffet service is best. Don't forget to try their fresh naan
Super tasty Indian food! We had the Palak Pakora as an appetizer and the Chicken Vindaloo for dinner. They were both super tasty! The chicken dish with mild spice was still kind of spicy, but I have a low ish tolerance for spice. My only complaint is with their mango lasse. It had the mango color but hardly any mango taste.
Best food (Indian ) we have found. We have traveled some. Our favorite is here.
Good food. Good value, but waiting 30 minutes after arrival in addition to arriving 30 minutes after calling is too much. If you say it will be ready in 30, there's no reason to take an hour.
Loved the buffet here.
Food is OK, tasty and spicy enough for a non Indian. Price around $11- $12 for lunch buffet. Big selection. I would go there again because I like Indian food. I can't get Indian food where I live & this place is only a 2.5 hour drive. The chef is Hispanic, and for a non Indian, the food is quite good but I've had better (& more $$) in Abilene TX. Place is clean and Marco (server) is very attentive.
If you like spicy Indian food, I wouldn't recommend you this place
Passage was the first Indian restaurant I tried after moving to Wichita 8 years ago. I won't try any others. The food was amazing the first time I went there and the food was amazing every other time Ive gone. Infact I've never gone there and had a bad meal or bad service. I've never been to a restaurant that's been so consistent with both food and service. I will keep coming back again and again. Keep up the good work Passage. May you have many many years of success.
Food was delicious and staff was delightful. Highly recommend this authentic Indian restaurant.
The chicken biryani was yum. Wish the chicken pieces were cut smaller tho
Absolutely love the Chicken Masala
Worst food money can buy.. They have got it so wrong! Pretty sure they don’t have chefs/cooks who have knowledge on Indian food.. Being a foodie, I like experimentation with food.. but their menu is a list of failures.. #neveragain
I'm so sad that it took 34 years to have my first experience with Indian cuisine! If I'd only known what I was missing out on, I would have tried it much sooner! The menu could be intimidating for a first timer, so here's a helpful hint: coconut curry with chicken, basmati rice (which comes on the side) and an order of butter or garlic naan is the perfect dish to dip your toes in the water with. The wait staff was very attentive and the owner greeted us like old friends. Will definitely be back!
Good food. Waitstaff could be more knowledgeable
Been here too many times, and the food is always superb.
Best food
I litterally can not describe how amazing this place was!! It was authentic Indian food, FULL OF FLAVOR!! I had the buffet before and it was ok, but when I went the seco d time and ordered from the menu I was litterally in awe at how juicy my chicken was and how amazi g the sauce was!! Definitely recommending this to all my friends!
Best Indian food in this town. The lamb korma is amazing and service is wonderful! On my top five places to eat in Wichita for authentic cuisine. And truly some of the nicest people I've ever met.
It is the best place in Wichita.... Me and my wife's favorite place.... Great food and absolutely the best service you'll ever experience... Super super amazing
Never Ever ever ever I don’t want to go to this place again. Worst food. I went there with my friend and we together eat few spoons of rice and one piece of chicken and two pieces of tandoori. That’s all and I’m sure the food is not freshly made. They should be ashamed of their food quality. I am not only upset because it costs us $28 including also because we left the place with empty stomach. I’m sure they wanted good rating and got paid reviews, otherwise there is no way this place to have such rating. To the management - if you reading this, your food sucks man. I was there on May 25, 2019, Two buffets for lunch at approximately 12:30 pm.
We did the buffet. Very nice selection of Indian foods. Fresh and tasty.
Their lunch buffet with chicken marsala and nan . Omg authentic Indian food so good it'll make you snack you're mama.
Delicious Indian food and friendly staff
There's only a few East Indian restaurants in Wichita, Ks--and this one is BY FAR the one that offers the best service AND BEST TASTING FOOD! I LOVE this restaurant! I'm a regular and the owner and his son call me by name every time I walk through the doors! BEST IN WICHITA HANDS DOWN!
Great food, good service
Plenty of awesome vegan options with an entirely separate vegan menu. I will most definitely be back soon!
Pretty good lunch buffet
Food is delicious. I need to remember to not go there for lunch because I can't seem to stop myself from eating soooo much.
Very good Indian. This restaurant is also very accommodating. Not only do they have a vegan menu, but they'll make your order without garlic or onions if you're sensitive. It's also not as spicy as I would have expected. Give it a try.
Food is very good! Staff is wonderful. We will definitely be back again!
*Excellent* food and friendly service... best Indian restaurant in Wichita!
Great food, reasonable price, great staff.
Literally my favorite Indian place in Wichita!!! I could eat the Chicken Shahi Korma for days and not get tired of it. With that said, there are quite a number of dish options and you can usually put any kind of meat in any kind of curry. Prices are higher than just your generic family restaurant but, for the quality, not bad! Well worth every penny.
Such great food! So nice to have so many vegan options! The nicest people! Can't think of a better restaurant in Wichita!❤️
Very good food and huge selection of dishes.
It was really good, wait staff were real nice too. Definitely recommend the Mango Lassi.
This restaurant was an 11 on a 10 scale for me. I love Indian but not every Indian restaurant of course. We ordered the lentil soup, lamb coconut curry, shrimp mango, and Rarra lamb and 3 different naans (there were 17 naans!) Mango chutney, mint chutney.... I almost lost my mind it was so fabulous. The food is bursting with flavor. We ordered medium heat and it was spicy without tearing your face off. I like American spicy, but Indian spicy is very intense. Note that the food gets hotter as you eat it. The heat collects and lingers. The mint chutney will cool you down. They offer a mild version so if you don't eat spicy you can still eat here. Absolutely outstanding. Cannot wait to return.
Food is excellence. Service is good too.
Great Indian food very nice people who work there it's a really awesome atmosphere
The food is fantastic- and the atmosphere is like being in India
Food is decent but the quantity is less and price is high compared to other Indian restaurants in town.
Passage to India has a great variety of dishes available on it's buffet or from the menu. A meal there is always enjoyable.
Great selection of vegetarian dishes. There is a separate vegan menu if you ask for it! Locally owned. Large menu. Good prices. Nice staff. Very good Buffet on weekends with many vegetarian choices.
Passage to India was full of surprises. A delightful buffet with spices and flavors that were fun, and unfamiliar. The owner takes great pride in his cozy, out of the way place, and was thrilled to share his menu with us by "touring" us through the buffet and explaining the dishes and sauces. Having an enjoyable meal is one thing, but being treated like you're having a new adventure makes it fun! The food is nothing short of amazing, and the service incredible. Food quality is far above average and much of it is gluten free!!! If you've been going out for Chinese buffet, you're in a rut! Take a chance...go for it and try something new! I could wake up craving this!
What a joke! Indian? A tomato soup from a can in my curry? Undercooked naan? Overcooked rice? No spice? Aweful pakora? No thanks! Have to go Lawrence
Good food....and alot of it
"The Most Pathetic customer service in Restaurant Business in USA." It was my 1st visit here, upon celebration of my Wife's Birthday, we got Insulted by server named 'Akruthi' in front of all Guests. We reached to restaurant by 7:30 PM, got seated by 8:00 PM, and order served by 8:30 to 8:45 PM. Up on re-ordering some food by 9:00 PM, we got informed that Kitchen is closed by 9:00. So 1st issue is, even-though we just started our Dinner in past 20 minutes or so, we were not informed that Kitchen was closing soon in case or reordering any food. Upon asking server (Akruthi) why we were not told that they were closing Kitchen in case if we need to order more, this is how sever-Akruthi responded with insulted arguing back very arrogently 'Didn't you see our Time sign out side!' in front of all Guest. She was talking to us as like we were there for FREE food and that would not be acceptable by any Customer. I already had ordered food for over $100 and paid in full without any argument(have attached receipt here as well). I kept on trying to reach out to responsible Manager(Rubi)/owner after that evening over the phone for a week, every day, to discuss the same, but they kept on ignoring coming to phone and didn't want to talk to me, telling they already know what happened and it was Customer's fault who missed behaved with their Server-Akruthi. (Pure example of Nepotism run by Management). Seems like Whole Management has neither respect nor value for Customer if customer comes across any issue under their services. You Go to restaurant to spend some good time with your Friends & Family, but not to ruin your time and to insult yourself in front of Group of known-unknown people. I DO NOT RECOMMEND going to this Restaurant.
Mmmm.
Disaster of Indian food. The food was burnt, you could literally smell it!!! The quantity is pretentious and the prices are rather high. It takes trice as more than any other restaurant to make their food, waited for more than an hour. Avoid it at all costs!
My first time eating at an Indian restaurant, I didn't know what I was missing! They have a great buffet, and the service was awesome
not authentic in any way, serves food which is suited to american taste. if you want to serve authentic Indian food why make it suited. people come for the taste of Indian food. how about i serve the classic american burger served with Indian spices !! some foods aren't meant to be altered with
I have been coming here for about two years, sometimes once a week. The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. The lunch buffet is very good value for the price and has a lot of delicious options. The dinner menu is a little bit expensive but still worth it.
This is our favorite Indian restaurant. I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered here. Simply delicious cuisine.
Extremely good food. Great and friendly service. Will definitely come back.
It was great
Modest ambiance, food very good. Cost reasonable. We will be back. 1/19/18
The food is amazing
Delicious and warm food, the staff is always super polite. They have a vegan menu too, which is really nice so I don't have to question what I'm eating.
I ate here today during the lunch ch buffet. The food tasted great, and the staff was informative. I tried about 7 different entrees, the chicken and beef were very tender and the vegetarian dishes I tried were delicious and savory. I will eat here again and I'm excited to experience new flavors.
I love Passage! The food is amazing and so is the service. Best Indian buffet in town!
Great lunch buffet. With nan. Soo good.. even the white girls like it.
Great food. I think it's the best one in wichita.
There food is good Tandoori chicken is one of my favorite dishes they serve and there staff is good at taking care of you.
This place is gross, food quality is horrible, the service is bad, when we complained they still made us paid the whole bill. Don't eat at this place!!!
Amazing food. Had the buffet and there wasn’t one dish I didn’t like. Everything was warm and flavorful. Will definitely be back.
I have eaten at the best Indian restaurants in Chicago with people who were born and raised in India. Passage to India ranks right up there with the best!! The service is very "mom and pop" like and very pleasant. When I am back in the area...this is the only place I will go for Indian food.
Exquisite dining & excellent service!
Passage to India has been a favorite for years. We have our go to favorites of chicken Tikka masala and vegetarian korma for dinner. At lunch the buffet is always stocked with a wide variety of dishes.
Went for the lunch buffet on Sunday. Decent price for good food
Love this restaurant. Food is constantly good. Wide variety on the buffet! Have been coming here for decades and keep coming back. The people are very friendly.
Amazing food. I love the veggie coconut curry. The area around it is a little run down but don't let that fool you. This place is a great find.
Disappointed. This is not actually a way to travel to India. Misleading name.
A Vegan menu. Not one or two vegan items, an entire menu. Delicious, wonderful. Ask for vegan menu and enjoy some of the best Indian food in Wichita. . . Probably in Kansas.
Great food, great service, and well priced! They offer a buffet but we ordered off the menu because it had more vegan options. Definitely lots of options. I’d recommend this place to anyone.
Food here is always good, friendly staff, very reasonable prices. Lunch buffet always a good choice... 10/9/2019 edit... Went here for lunch, and the food was mediocre at best... Service definitely not at their usual standard, the bathrooms were out of paper (staff responded with a shoulder shrug when informed about the bathroom), and the buffet offerings were bland. No longer recommended, find another spot.
There were seven of us in our party, we all agreed the food was good, but a restaurant without air conditioning with a temperature outside in the high nineties I cannot recommend. Service was extremely slow the first people to be served were half way through their meals before the last people were served, so we were literally sat there sweating waiting for our food. Sorry but we will not be back. The price was about what was expected. All in all not a good experience. On a score out of 100 I would be being generous if I gave them 45.
Love this restaurant!!! Great Indian food and nice owner!!:)
Avoid eating here for lunch. I arrived at around 1:45. They close at 2:30. I asked whether I could order from menu rather than buffet, but I could read on the server’s expression that they aren’t set up to serve fresh food at lunch. She offered to ask the cook, but I told her I would play along and eat from the buffet. I tried a small sample of white seasoned rice, chicken tika masala, and a zucchini dish. The buffet items were bland, but I expected that on a buffet. The worst thing was the food was all room temperature (or slightly above) and appeared very stale. The rice had dried out enough to begin to harden. I would not be surprised if this was food they set out 3 hours before. Not only was the food bland, it was probably not really safe to eat by health department standards. Also, the buffet was not labeled, just a bunch of pans of crusty room temp mystery food and sauces. Maybe they do more business on weekdays and have fresh food? A friend of mine once shared some takeout from this restaurant and I enjoyed it, but this lunch buffet nonsense was among my worst restaurant experiences ever.
A great find with lots of vegan options for my family. The seasoning and their sauces are amazing. Service was fast staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend one of the best Indian restaurant I have eaten at
Love the food. Unique in the Wichita area.
Food is not fresh most of the time especially the chicken in tikka masalas and butter chicken. It is way over priced for the quality it provides. But the customer service is good and restaurant is usually clean.
First time here. Not well versed in Indian food but it was delicious!!
Good place
Over the past 20 years my family has enjoyed the various locations that this restaurant has occupied. The quality has varied over the years but it has consistently been the best Indian food available in Wichita Kansas. The family who owns it are wonderful people who do care about their customers.
Don’t work here unless you always want your checks to bounce!
Really enjoyed the entire experience. Choose the buffet option for lunch and was not disappointed. There buffet had a generous supply of meat a vegetarian dishes to choose from which meant there were lots of new and flavorful choices to experience. I was disappointed the lamb dish was not restocked however I did show up close to closing time so it's really my own fault. I highly recommend Passage to India.
Very delicious food and great service. We love their buffet!!!
Our new favorite Indian restaurant! It was so good, the food, the drinks, the dessert! We love Indian food, but don't live where good food is readily available so we had to travel an hour for this, but it was worth it for a special dinner!
Pretty good. Spice level was very mild. Flavor was good but missing the heat.
Wonderful small family owned place. Excellent Indian food. Very nice people - great experience
Love their vegan menu. Delicious food and friendly service.
Food and service is excellent.
Food was good. Really like it. Malie kofta was superb.
Tasty food
Great paneer masala especially if you like it spicy!
Great, authentic Indian food. Chicken vindaloo was good. Best Naan in town.
First time here. Very good food. Lots of choices. Just got a little tour to see the tandoor oven. They made us fresh bread as we watched. A first for my 87 year old grandmother! Can't wait to come back to try more dishes.
Not a bad place. But there are better Indian cuisine restaurants in town. I would rate this the lowest of all of them
Nice Indian restaurant in Wichita.. I was there twice during my Wichita visit
Delicious, not crazy spicy hot, and they cooked things a little different compared to what I am used to in a phenomenal way.
Great place
Food was good. Not the best I have had.
The water here is really stellar. I loved the water! If you are a water connoisseur, passage to India is a good way to go... also the food is good
Food is not delicious at all. An Indian lady gave an awry look to me when refilled one of the desert three times. It was buffet and the main menu was just a waste of money. So tried to make up with some desert. Price is ridiculously high. Decor is dark or overly sun lit. Don't waste your money.
Seems to have really gone down hill over the years. The food isn't as seasoned or spicy as it used to be. Almost bland.
The food and service was good. The buffet is a great choice if you don't prefer spicy foods.
Great food
This is an amazing place. Since moving to US I have missed going out for a good curry. I heard about this place from other Brit friends and I am very grateful. We ordered some appetizers, naan, and two meals to share between 2 adults and a 10 year old (who loves curry). We had loads of leftovers to take home. I noticed the back of the menu said they have a buffet but it wasn't on when we were there. Not sure times of the buffet. Great place, meets my British desire for a good curry.
This is, by far, the most delicious food I have ever eaten in my entire life. If you haven't eaten Indian food before I would recommend going during the buffet hours so that you can try a selection of the food. Don't skimp on the naan, try ordering some from the menu. It is all simply amazing. The staff have been there for years. They recognize me when I come in and are always super pleasant.
Shittiest indian restraurant in wichita. Take it from an indian guy, you are being fooled, the food they serve is no where close to indian food or how it tastes. Stay Away..
Excellent buffet with a wide assortment of flavors of Curry and the naan was rich and moist.
Amazing food, great service!
Always good food and good service!
We love Indian food! In the greater Wichita area, we have found this to have the best around. Traditional dishes, great service, and clean. All prepared fresh to order. Full bar and daily buffet. Room for larger parties. Ample parking.
I'm a newbie to Indian food, but this place was amazing. I tried three different dishes and every one of them was delicious. Plus a cozy atmosphere and the waitstaff did an excellent job keeping the drinks filled. Definitively going again soon
Good food
There is no authentic Desi (Indian, Pakistani, Bengali) restaurant in Wichita. For that you would need to go to big cities.
Great service and wonderful food. It was a great experience.
Great staff and clean tables/glassware/silverware. The buffet had a wide variety of exceptionally well executed Indian dishes. The goat vindaloo was amazing, and I had more pita than I care to admit! Don't forget the dessert. 10/10 will be back again and again.
This is no joke my favorite restaurant of my childhood and my life, the buffet is amazing!!! I can’t recommend this place enough even under new ownership they thrive. I live in Texas now and every time in town I go here multiple times.
Nice food, its original taste from India. I had a Lunch buffet which was very pocket friendly for the price. Wide range of selection. Good taste. Friendly staff. Will visit there soon.
Good food. Have been eating here since I was a kid. Good for lunch or dinner.
Nice place, clean, tasteful food. Recommend
Unbelievably excellent! A taste of the Exotic without the passport
Oh my god it's so good.
I gave this eatery 5 stars for a reason. The top ingredient quality married to some really excellent Chef skills make this one of the best Indian places I have eaten. Highly recommended for anyone not familiar with but curious about Indian food, you will be completely satisfied with your experience. i have eaten these kinds of foods all my life have visited India and am British for reference.
Amazing food and even better service
I love Indian food. I have been here for both the buffet and the dinner menu. They have very fast service and I thought the food was excellent. The employees are very friendly and gave me a discount once because I was in uniform. If you are a vegetarian, definitely go here because there are plenty of meat-free options, and no pork in the entire restaurant.
The food here has always been good. However since ownership has changed. It seems like the quality has dipped just a little bit. It still does not keep this from one of my go to places for curry.
It's a really good place to eat and the staff is really friendly
Yum! Food is Delicious. Service is hit or miss, can't always get refills in a timely manner. Try the lunch buffet. If you go for dinner, I recommend the plain or garlic naan with your meal.
Best Indian food in Wichita. Chicken Tikka masala and butter chicken is great!
Wonderful food everyday. Spicy and NOT spicy items with something delicious and healthy for both of you. :)
Can't go wrong, it's all good! Be sure to get the naan with whatever you eat.
I've been to India and I grew up with a very large Indian family in my home town and this place is just as good as being in Dehli!!
We love the variety. Dishes we've sampled are very tasty. "Mild" spice level is tolerable but still rather "hot".
Good Indian food. Sunday buffet is good especially if you aren't sure what you like yet. Ordering off the menu is better though.
Air conditioning was inadequate food was cold
The lunch buffet is always very good! It has a nice selection of dishes including freash made nan, and tandoori chicken!
Local restaurant started in 1994 family owned and operated. The buffet changes daily for lunch special. Try the kabule nann and the Chicken Shi korma
Had dinner here a few nights ago. It took about an hour and twenty minutes for our dinner entrees to come out. About fifty minutes in, they provided complementary appetizers. Despite the wait, the food was very good and worth the wait. Will give this place another try.
We love this restaurant! The food is great and the service is wonderful. They treat us like family here!
Food is amazing. Buffet is awesome. The decor is a bit dark and the booths are a bit torn but the food more than makes up for it. Also the employees are always very friendly.
Pricey, but the service is top notch. The food was as visually appealing as it was delicious. I ordered chicken vindaloo medium hot. Id consider it "Indian" medium, which would be American hot. If you're adventurous, order it Indian hot and melt your face. Make sure to try an order of the naan bread. I tasted a bite of lamb vindaloo and a bite of lemon chicken. All excellent.
I liked this restaurant: though I tried out around lunch time where there was a buffet style lunch but the experience was good: nice service, nice staff, good foods with great variety . I enjoyed and I went back several times.
The food is always amazing! I have never had a bad meal here, and they offer plenty of vegetarian options. The best Indian food I have ever had!
I live in Los Angeles, where there are dozens of Indian restaurants in every neighborhood. Passage to India is by far superior to anyplace I’ve eaten at anywhere around the country. They have an excellent selection of vegetation dishes that can be made vegan by requesting coconut milk. They even have vegan garlic roti and kabuki roti. Love eating here when I’m back home!
Great food! Absolutely love the dishes served and the garlic Naan is amazing. Ordered lamb curry and chicken curry mild and it was perfect. I wish I could have gotten more rice initially but that was fixed by just asking for more rice from my server. Friendly staff and not bad hours. They also bagged the food for me without even asking, you never really see that in restaurants today. Absolutely worth it.
Friendly staff and quick, as well. I'll definitely be coming back.
I had dinner here and the waitress was knowledgeable and very nice. I had the tiki masala and it was amazing. I’m in town for a week and fully intend to eat here again!
ok,,, loved this place until last visit... giant cockroach on the wall... same night, my friends credit card info that was used to pay for dinner was stolen. May have been a coincidence but the delivery address for the items ordered was local. I won't be going there again.
Continued good food and prices since bought out from original family owners.
