Here's Johnny!! The meat was good, and the service was fast for a friday night! The fries had no salt, but I think that is because the expect everyone to dip them in their ketchupish BBQ sauce. The BBQ sauce was good tho, just tasted more like ketchup than BBQ sauce. 4 stars!

We had Johnnys BBQ cater our wedding this last Saturday and it was perfect. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. We paid a staff member to stay and maintain the buffet line and he did a great job and was very friendly. Would highly recommend Johnnys!

Excellent BBQ. We just tried Johnny's for the first time tonight. We tried pulled pork, chicken, sausage, ribs and turkey between everyone in our party. Each was delicious! The coleslaw and beans were good, too. Our waitress was such a sweet girl, taking time to acknowledge and talk to each of our young daughters really made their nights. Thanks for the great meal! We will be back, for sure.

My first childhood house was near Johnny's BBQ and has been a family favorite since. By far, they have the best priced BBQ that also tastes delicious. My family got takeout the other day because we were craving it. We all got a beef regular bbq sandwich (about 1/3 lb of meat on each) with a large side of fried mushrooms and fries to share among three of us.

Never going there again. I called in an order, was told 15 minutes for pick up. I get there,food's not ready and the person who took my order over the phone was very nice until she saw I was black. Attitude took a 180. My pulled pork sandwich had a lot of fatty meat and my dad's rib dinner looked like bone scraps meant for somebody's dog.

My wife and I tried this restaurant last night due to seeing it listed as one of the Yelp 7% Cash Back restaurants in our area. I've lived in Olathe for over 20 years and never knew about this place. It's located on Old Hwy 56, and I never use that route. We were glad to find another great BBQ joint not too far from us. I gave it a 4 due to the house sauce being just "OK". BUT - Burnt Ends - Excellent Brisket - Excellent Service - Excellent Prices - Very Competitive Decor and cleanliness - Very Good Plenty of parking and has an outdoor eating area. With all that good said, why did Sauce knock off a star? Well, the house sauce is one of the unique elements of any BBQ place. We found the sauce here was heavy on the ketchup, light on the heat. However, the more we ate it, the better we liked it. But still, it lacked that WOW factor for us. We will go back and we will add it to our short list of favorite BBQ places we like best in Johnson County.

Glad I looked this place up on Trip Advisor. Great atmosphere, better food. I had the ribs and burnt ends dinner with fries. Pleased with the meat... fries were too salty for my tastes but many love them. Love the casual seat yourself aura. I’m also thankful I’m an eastern time zone eater....it filled up fast as the after work crew arrived. If I’m back this way, I’ll stop in again.Took my staff there for lunch. We had ribs, pulled pork, brisket, sausage, coleslaw & baked beans. Extremely reasonably priced! It’s off the beaten path, almost outside of town. Well worth the trip!

We got ribs here and they had shards of bone and cartilage in them that we had to keep picking out, plus areas of the meat were dry and tough. The fries weren't really crispy at all and could have been salted more evenly. The bbq and ham sandwich was okay. It wasn't terrible per say but I don't think it's worth all the hype.

Glad we went as it was getting late on a Monday night, but we went anyway. So glad we did as we enjoyed some of the BEST Pulled Pork, Beef, and Ribs!!! The side dishes were baked beans and cole slaw were really, really good, too! Katherin our server was nice too even though we were late arrivals as they close at 8 on Mondays. Looking for great BBQ in WESTERN Olathe I highly recommend Johnny's. My friend and I throughly enjoyed our dinner and will come soon. Lots of your favorite beers and sodas on tap.

This location in Olathe has declined substantially over the years. The quality of meat, inconsistency in preparation, attentiveness of staff and dedication to ensuring order accuracy have all made this location a last resort in our dining line up. We originally ate here at least once per week and couldn't wait for the next time. There was a Manager here originally (Paul I believe) that really cared about quality and service. He kept the younger crew on track and he remembered our names every time we came in. Since he is no longer at this location, I have complained because the workers behind the line don't wear hair protection half the time, have prepared food without gloves, and just don't understand the idea of food safety. Front of house ladies just seem disinterested most of the time. After tonight's dining experience with fat on our sandwiches instead of meat, our orders messed up, and the girls only interested in the men bellying up to the counter for a beer, it is truly time to move on from this once amazing restaurant.

Was Okay. Not going to be my new favorite but have had worse. Meat was a little over cooked and was falling off the bone. Some like it that way but ribs are supposed to have a little bite to them if you listen to the experts. Was better than average but serving size on the meat was small. 2 bones and about a half cup of burnt ends with baked beans, coleslaw, and fries with a large drink was just under $18. Worth visiting every now and then. Will try other things next time. Only suggestion is ask what type of sauce your customers want or don't put any on at all. Personally like spicy sauce and whatever you put on their definitely had a taste conflict.

Yuck! There is no taste to the BBQ sauce! I take that back, it tastes like dirty water. KC Masterpiece is a lot better...and cheaper! I will say, their macaroni & cheese triangles are the bomb. They weren't worth my $70 meal though.

There is no shortage of great BBQ in the KC area. I've been to Johnny's a few times now, and it is right up there as being a great BBQ joint. I like to judge a place by their ribs, burnt ends, and fries. I had a two meat dinner with burnt ends and ribs along with all the sides. I found the ribs to be flavorful and juicy, the burnt ends were satisfyingly good as well. Their dinner plates are loaded especially with the sides. Service here is great as well, you feel real comfortable here. I like Johnny's BBQ, it's a solid restaurant in the KC area.

Johnny's is a nice little BBQ spot on old 56. Cozy atmosphere, complete with fireplaces. They have a pretty big menu, including wrap sandwiches all the way to ribs and burnt ends. We were here for lunch. I love their pulled pork and ham, and the baked beans--they're fantastic. They have 2 types of BBQ sauce: regular and hot. Serving is done by counter ordering so it's somewhat self service. They also cater. We frequently order their box lunches at work and they always go over well.

In my book this is a very average BBQ joint. I had the burnt ends dinner with the seasoned fries, Cole slaw, and BBQ beans. The burnt ends had a decent smoke flavor, but was missing out on any rub. BBQ beans are a bit on the sweet side. Overall, not bad, but not great.

Saw it on Guy Fiery show and gave it a shot. Ordered rib+ brisket plate. Very typical KC BBQ. The meat was ok but the slaw and the bean were too sweet. I had to point out the bread is terrible as many other bbq joints in this area - bland white bread only good for mopping up the grease! Why noy imitate Joe's by toasting the bread? Besides, the service isn't friendly either.

A very good choice when it comes to barbecue. I purchased the burnt ends sandwich, which was only about $7 in total. The sandwich itself is very big, and they aren't shy about putting a lot of meat on it. The sauce is really good, one of the better sauces I've had. A good amount of kick, so if you're into that you will like it. Their sides were lackluster, the beans were certainly nothing special. Great place for lunch.

It's pretty good BBQ. Wouldn't say it is the best BBQ you can find in the Kansas City area but not the worst either. The BBQ flavores are unique so if you want BBQ and want to try something different then this is a good place to try. The decor looks a little dated so don't expect anything fancy there.

Went for the burnt ends, was not disappointed! The fries are also seasoned very well, and the jalapeño cream cheese poppers were delicious! They also have spear shaped fried pickles, which were pretty heavy on the breading. They also have three kinds of barbecue sauces, but they only have one on the table. You have to ask for the other two (shown in the picture). But they did bring out ranch with the sides without asking, which is very considerate!

This establishment embodies everything I've come to expect from something that was featured on Diners, Drive-ins And Dives.... one or two things that are great and the rest is just "blah". Side dishes were cold and not of the best quality, and even the "seasoning" on the fries had no flavor as it was basically just fries sprinkled with paprika.

Never had a chance to try to get here. Never got served. Even went up to thr counter twice, since we never been here before. First asked them do we sit anywhere, then 5 plus minutes later when to the counter asked them if we order up here, they said no at the table, then they gave us menus, 10 mins later we left. Never even got a drink order.
