My personal favorite mexican in the region and possibly my favorite seafood establishment as well. Amazing atmosphere, diverse menu, inviting staff. We had the dungeonous crab and it was the best ive had in a long time and the house margs were the better than any i have had for the price.

Customer service is great and the food is always great. I have never had any issues with the food I have ate during their Sunday buffet brunch. It is a little pricey but they have oysters.

Just really did not care for this place at all. While the service was friendly once our food arrived we were left alone until the check was dropped. The cevich left me with my doubts that it had been marinated long enough to be served safely. We shared the paella and found it to over cooked. The rice was tough and parts of it burned. The shrimp was rubbery as were the other protein sources except for the fish pieces. We will certainly not be giving this restaurant a second chance.

I LOVED this place. It's a hole in the wall, and is probably lacking in atmosphere, but the food...THE FOOD. Go for the Sunday brunch. All you can eat seafood (oysters included) and bottomless drinks. Thoroughly impressed.

This place is beyond words! Not only do they have amazing food, they were able to accommodate a party of 20 without any advance notice. Sarai and the other servers did an unbelievable job getting us our food just as quickly as if we were a smaller group. Although pretty much everything on the menu is delectable, I highly recommend the dollar oysters and the scallop ceviche.

I went on a Sunday, when they serve "brunch". It is more like a rodizio where you have an all you can eat buffet and a few courses meal per table. It was just me and my wife, we could not make through the first course. Food was good but I felt like I didn't have much options to choose.

Great seafood dishes. Awesome special on oysters on Tuesday. The baby octopus with grilled onions was spicy and the octopus were perfectly chewy. Nice and flavorful. Seafood paella is a dish for 2. There is just so much food served hot in a skillet. It was really great. I'll be back.

This is hands down our new favorite place! We opted for trying out the OG location in KCK and the hole in the wall vibe is perfect. The outside of the building has amazing sea creature murals that might be off putting to some, but we thought it was great. The inside is very simple decor that goes with the casual Mexican seafood vibe. I was glad I had made a reservation because shortly after we sat down the place was packed!

Good GOOD quality seafood. They keep the crabs alive in a tank to retain freshness. The service is great and the food is fantastic. They have $1 per oyster deals on Thursdays. However, they don't offer easy access to the parking.. That's the only downside. Delicious seafood and well worth the price!

This was a great foodie find! Everything that we ordered was delicious! We ordered the ceviche tostadas and the crack fries for an appetizer. The ceviche was fresh and the portion sizes for both appetizers were good to share between five people. I ordered the fish fillet for dinner and a side of elote. My daughters have never tried elote so they enjoyed trying that for the first time. The fish fillet with the cream sauce was heavenly. No wonder why that is a fan favorite. My husband ordered the scallop special. The scallops were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. It was melt in your mouth good. We also ordered the shrimp chipotle and the cucaracha dinner. Both were delicious and the sauces complimented both dishes. We enjoyed our first experience at Jarocho so we will be back!

Nothing should deter you from trying this restaurant. Our server said that the Shrimp Chipotle was her favorite and went on to explain why. The spicy, gooey, cheesy Chipotle sauce. The large, tasty shrimp. And, the awesome Cilantro Lime Cole slaw. You can't go wrong with this dish. From where we were seated, we were able to watch the chef preparing each meal. You could see the love and care going into the preparation of every part of your meal. Before our food arrived, we knew it would be something special. We were not disappointed.

I am a Seafood lover, and this place is on point in all areas, for all of your 100% fresh out the water, or just flown in Seafood desires...I had the seafood combination cerviche, Cherry stone clams stuffed with red snapper and a cream sauce, and a premium Golden sea bass, cooked to PERFECTION...Absolutley DELICIOUS. Service was 5 star, super friendly and knowledgeable. A little pricey, but definitely worth every penny.

Went to Jarocho last night for dinner. I am thoroughly impressed. I under the fried soft shell crab and the grilled lobster with mexican corn and slaw. Both dishes surpassed my expectations. The food is expensive, definitely worth it though.

This place is excellent. I came for lunch and they had $1.00 oysters, which were fantastic. I also had their fish tacos. They also serve Coca Cola from Mexico in a bottle and their food portions are just right. The food is great and the service is too. I would recommend this place for lunch and dinner. This place is so good! If you are a seafood person, you have to check it out.

It's a rough looking neighborhood, but the food here is striking in terms of flavor, quality, and affordability. It is exceptionally fresh, and boasts lots of variety. Price is high for other restaurants in this area, but the quality was well worth the asking price in my opinion. We has coconut lobster soup, raw oysters, octopus ceviche, and fried softshell crab and were impressed by the artful presentation... also not something you would expect from this part of town. Quiet place, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Worth trying if you are a seafood fan. We were very pleasantly surprised.

Seven courses that started with the best scallops we've ever had, included items we've never had before (sea cucumber, abalone, and soft shelled crawfish - all delicious) and finished with spiny lobster. Seafood like it's fresh out of the water, which is tough to come by in KC. Their oysters were better than some that I've had in both FL and LA. This means it's not the cheapest spot around town but well worth the price. A much different take on Mexican food than what I'm used to and very happy to have stumbled across this place...I look forward to making it back down there to try more of the menu!

Wow! How you can serve food like this at a great price point is beyond me. Every dish out of hr little kitchen looked delicious. We opted for stuffed fish filet with the seafood cream sauce and paella. The stuffed oysters for an app were great. Pitchers of margaritas topped it all off. Not a large space, so make reservations. Super friendly staff all around.

I will definitely return. The dishes were amazing like "Slap your Momma really hard" DELICIOUS! I didn't catch the name of our server but she was very informative and was able to answer all of our questions with it being our first time. If you leave hungry then you've got issues that you might want to talk to your doctor about because they are very generous with the portions. The Margaritas we're in my opinion one of the best in Kansas City. It's a little pricey but worth every penny spent. If you like to try seafood in various ways, you will love it. If you don't like seafood, you shouldn't go as it is a full menu of stellar seafood dishes.

He should be a celebrity! Take the 7th St exit. It is super easy to get to. Then circle around and come thru the backside. I am sooo happy i found Jarocho. More than one location

Visited ''Jarocho''s 2 Weeks Ago With A Best Friend Of Mine. The whole initiation of wanting to go there was because I was craving ''Veracruz Tamales'' which we figured they would have. Unfortunately, they didn't so we ordered different food for the night. The food overall was okay, it wasn't the greatest nor the worse. I Definitely thought that the food was way overpriced for a ''Caldo de Camaron'' & ''Cocktel de Camaron''. Nether less to say Our waitress was Great! she was very friendly and understanding of all the questions we were throwing at her! she was patient and very sweet! The Environment was also Decent. For these two last reasons it gained the 3 stars for us! Not a place I would ever go back too though.

I only dropped in for an appetizer, but it was good. I had the "Shrimp in Butter" i believe. Whole shrimp, head, tail, and all. Fighting the shell can be cumbersome but its all in the experience and don't mind working for my food a little if it taste that good. Margaritas where on point. Normally don't like em, but if there not to sweet then that's a good one for me!

Very nice family owned seafood restaurant. It was fun watching the crabs trying to climb out of the tank (they did not get out). The sauce for the oysters is good and great for dipping fries too. Good tacos and the staff is very sweet.

A meal is averaging at $15-25 but it tastes like $7. I won’t ever go back. Caldo de camarón was not tasty at all, ceviche is completely different then usual. I would just drive extra miles to Islas Maria’s. Not to mention when you walk in it stinks like sewer. Server was very uptight.

To be honest I don't like seafood, but since I went there with my family I decide to try the steak and shrimp with chipotle sauce, since they didn't have a choice for none seafood lovers on the weekends, I thought of just putting the shrimp on the side. Bottom up...I end up eating the shrimp, the chipotle sauce was so good that I didn't even taste the shrimp, every thing was tasty and the portions for the price is really good.
