The food is very good. But the waitresses customer service left A LOT to be desired. She talked down to me with my entree choice because I didn't know it was a family style dish (what must have been the only one on the menu) and she rolled her eyes when we asked for a new napkin. She looked and acted like she hated us and her job. We'll be back for the food but that waitress needs to go!

Went to this restaurant for my birthday and was completely disappointed. Got the fettuccine alfredo and it was basically noodles with heavy cream. No garlic and no parmesan cheese. The service was also pretty awful. Won’t be going there again.

Had a great dinner here at this neighborhood spot. Judging by the photo gallery this is a well known spot for celebs (sports and otherwise) but I had never heard of it until finding it on TripAdvisor. You'll likely need GPS directions since it's not on a main street that tourists will just happen across. Regardless, it's well worth trip. Classic old school Italian food done in a quality manner. Had the garlic dip, salad, gnocchi, and dessert and enjoyed all of it. Large portions (seriously, expect to take food home) and great service. Would certainly return.

I had the manicotti. It was wonderful. The wait staff was phenomenal. They were considerably well trained and gracious. The setting is intimate and romantic. My only concern was the dress code. I suppose it's not a conern, however many patrons were not dressed for the venue they were enjoying.

Love this place. One of the few where we can enjoy great food and conversation. Not so loud with music and small enough to limit the number of people competing for air time! We often go after the lunch crowd and have the place nearly to ourselves. This is our go to place for celebrating!

We went for my mother’s birthday this evening. We had a party of 9 people. They stuck us in a back room in the corner and there was a party of 25 people or more next to us. It was so loud we couldn’t even talk to each other. The waitress couldn’t even get between the chairs of the two tables. The waitress was great and food was good, but I will not return. It was a bad experience.

Disappointed for the first time ever at Garozzo's. Ordered a meal with beef tenderloin. Ordered it medium. It was very medium rare bordering on rare. I don't believe in sending food back so I didnt. I wish I would've just ordered the lasagna which was my other possibility. Service was ok and the restaurant is great. Just disappointed in my meal tonight

I hate myself for not taking pictures! But oh my gosh this place is DELICIOUS! We went for lunch on 09/27/19 and the waitress we had was absolutely lovely. Right now I can't remember her name (Rachel? Raquel? It started with an R I'm pretty sure...) but she was super helpful. She dismantled our cheese and bread stuffed artichoke (which is drool worthy) for us, and measured out her time with us perfectly. She didn't check in on us too much but was still very attentive. The calamari is yummy with a shrimp scampi (?) sauce that was heavenly, the chicken spiedini was awesome, and my seafood linguini was messy but still oh so good! The restaurant, I feel, is tucked away in a very east coast looking part of town, which adds to the charm. The inside was lovely, mellow, well lit for the lunch hour, and even the owner (I think!) came out and visited each table to check in with everyone! He even gave a baby at the table next to us a Garozzo's shirt! How sweet! I will DEFINITELY come back to this place. My boyfriend is Italian and his family has strong roots and a long history in the Northeast and Northland parts of KC, and he swears by this restaurant!

The food is amazing. We started with Combo Toasted Ravioli--both meat and cheese served with some amazing sauce (Maggie's Sugo). Our entrée choice was Linguine Frutti Di Mare--Linguine with clams, shrimp, scallops, tomatoes and mushrooms in a light béchamel sauce (from the menu). Pairing that with a Caesar Salad made it more than enough to share.

First visit to KC, and Gorozzo's was recommended to me. Absolutely loved this authentic, old school delicious restaurant in a quiet neighborhood worth the trip. Parking on street. Very busy place. Reservation s advised. Seating at the bar full service. Really good veggie options. Loved the Sicilian dip to start. Unusual and yummy gnocchi. Excellent eggplant. We walked from downtown 2.1 miles. Easy walk and helpful after stuffing ourselves. Don't miss the Limoncello cake.

My husband and I are visiting from Wichita KS area and happened to find Garozzo's on Google then remembered this was the italian restaurant that unfortunately closed in Wichita. I was SO excited to eat Chicken Spiedini again after all these years! It was as fabulous as I remember! Our waitress was hands down the best we've had anywhere! We cannot wait to come back to KC and visit here again! And the dessert was amazing!

Wine selection is expansive, and we got a great bottle of Chianti that was delicious and reasonably priced ($50). Our server was very attentive, friendly, and engaging. So, good, Italian! Pick the Spedini your way, and have a glass of their house Chianti. The lasagna is layered to perfection. We also had the pasta primavera with tortellini mushrooms and prosciutto ham which is just outstanding. Finally the chicken Parmesan is very tasty- melted cheese over the breaded chicken with crispy edges. The sugo/sauce is not too sweet either. The bread comes out hot with chilled butter and the dining areas are just like home. Cheri took good care of us at our table, and we’re working with Tonia on a catering possibility. I didn’t have room for dessert, but am definitely coming back!

Came for lunch and got the Spiedini. It was pretty good, but the sauce was really soupy/runny. Portions were great and service was great. Has that intimate vibe you look for in an Italian restaurant also. I'll give them a pass on the thin sauce, as everything tasted phenomenal, and runny sauce just makes for more sauce to sop up with bread at the end of the meal!

I have yet to actually visit the restaurant when not with a large group or for an event. The staff does an awesome job with service during private events and their group dining areas makes it a perfect location for a dining location with customers and colleagues. The wine is great. The food is tasty, but the portions are huge. We always get some appetizers: Calamari, stuffed artichoke and ravioli. I continue to hear great things about the cheesecake but I have yet to have room in my tummy for it at the end of the meal.

My husband and I loved our waiter, the staff were all fantastic. We had veal and both really enjoyed our meals. The only con here is that the dining space acts like an echo chamber so it's difficult to have conversation at times. Also I had wished that more wines were available by the glass. Came with friends while visiting KC. If the line out the door is any indication then you know its good eats. It can get busy here so plan ahead or get a reservation. We sat at the bar where Katy, assisted by Katy, gave us AMAZING service! Excellent cocktails, wine, and appetizers. Our entrees were very good and piping hot out of the kitchen. Servings are on the large side so don't hesitate to share or take some home for later! We will absolutely put this on our short list when we come back to KC.

From the moment you approach the front door you can smell the absolute delight that's in store for you. I have been going to the downtown location for over 25years and this is not only my favorite Italian restaurant, it is my favorite restaurant all in. The choices are diverse, the gravies are legendary and in the case of one menu item, the pasta 3 way, you will leave with a good 3 or 4 pounds of leftovers. When you are in Kansas city, Barbecue might be famous but Garozzos is the king.

We have been going here for years and I forgot how good it was until we visited again the other night! Huge servings of authentic Italian. Great spot for a traditional Italian dinner - I came with friends and we were celebrating a birthday. Great wine list, good service and HUGE portions. The food was a little slow to come out, but we had a large party. The stuffed artichoke appetizer was a favorite - I ordered the eggplant parmesan which was very good but way too much to eat in one serving.

A very solid place to go for a genuinely authentic Italian meal in a historic neighborhood. The food is excellent and plentiful. There is a bar area with a knowledgeable bartender for drink or cocktail. And the wait staff is attentive without being pushy. If you go on your birthday and order spiedini, there's no charge. Georgio spiedini is my favorite.

Mama Mia! This place is great! We had a reunion of sorts here and had drinks with the owners Mike and Maggie at the bar. Great drink menu and wonderful bartender! We then enjoyed a fabulous dinner with family - a large table and the service with Sherry was phenomenal. The stuffed artichokes were so delicious and everyone enjoyed their various entrees from lasagna, tortellini to diet chicken and even just plain buttered noodles for my daughter. Everything was fantastic! Great authentic Italian food - a gem in Kansas City! Great atmosphere and reasonable prices.

I have travelled much of the U.S., stopping in many world class eateries and I can confidently say this is one of the finest Italian restaurants in the country. The menu is well-thought and presents many appealing options for eaters of all types. I had the seafood ravioli and calamari when passing through. The calamari was generously proportioned (far more so than any restaurant I had been too) and the ravioli was authentic, hand-made, and the sauce - the sauce was simply delicious. The wait staff was phenomenal and professionally dressed but did not give the impression that Garozzo's is a select place only for an elite class of people. Rather, they gave me the impression that they make everyone feel like family. The restaurant is adorned with many pictures but among the most important were those of an Italian-American family, organized across the walls in a careful row. It is clear that the owner and staff take great pride in operating this business, serving their community, and honoring the great history of Italian-American ancestry in this country. 5-stars is the only review I could provide in good conscience.

The best Italian restaurant in Kansas City. We love The Hill with angel hair pasta, mine with meatballs, his with sausage. Love to sit at the tables in the bar where we get special attention and no frills. The bartender always remembers what we like. Great place.
