As one of the more authentic Mexican restaurants in town the have daily special, fast service, and good food. They are a local chain with a few locations, but the quality of their food does vary slight. If you're in the mood for Mexcian, or just tired of Carlos, you should give them a try.

If you are looking for really good Mexican food this is the place. The price is good taking in consideration the serving size. We were a party of five, each ordered a drink, a main course and desserts and we payed a reasonable amount in comparison with other restaurants. I had the Margarita Presidente...sooooo good! Complimentary chips and salsa?? Nice!! Food was very good as well, the desserts...churros can never go wrong, flan and "helado frito" (fried ice-cream) delicious!!! 100% recommended. Great service!!

My order wasn't quite right. The rest of our food was good. The guacamole and the pico de Gallo sides were really good. The service was fast. Our waiter seemed a little rude when females asked for stuff like extra napkins, but was fine when my son asked for anything. I even smiled and thanked him and he still had some problem when I asked for a drink refill and I ordered the sides. I also told him I'd take the check but he handed it to my son anyway. I'd go back but if I had the same waiter I'd ask for another one. I didn't even tell him my order was wrong. I just ate what I was given so I don't know what his issue was.

My husband and I went there Sunday night for dinner. The wait staff was very friendly and always smiling. We got seated right away but we got there before the dinner rush came in. They brought chips and sauce which was very good and the chips were nice and warm and got our drinks right away. Did not take long to get our food once we ordered it. The food was nice and hot as it should be and looked very appetizing. The place was nice and clean also. If your really hungry for mexican food give them a try. I really believe you will return to eat there again. I know we will for sure. Enjoy!!

Aweful. Worst mexican food I ever had. Never had coleslaw at a Mexican restaurant especially heated in the oven, nasty. A steak burrito fajita with only 5 small pieces of the chewiest meat I ever had. Thought I broke a thooth. Service wasn't the best either. If could give this place 0 star as a rating it would still be to good. No soup for you!!

We love this place. Great food and awesome margaritas! They bring you warm chips and 2 kinds of salsa. My kids love the tomato based one and the adults love the spicy one. Port Carnitas is our favorite dish to share. Yum!

I have eaten here probably 6 times. I usually get a burrito. Food is always good, and the service is good also. Not the "absolute best" Mexican restaurant I have ever been to, but it is good. I like the tortilla chips they serve before the meal, the seats are comfortable, the restaurant is not too loud. I don't get the people who are so negative about this spot. It has always been good to me, and I will continue to eat there.

I posted photos of my experience and my encounter with not a hair, but a clump of hair, a hair ball that was stuck to the inside bottom of my red cup. I love this place! My only complaint is the salsa could be better. It has a spaghetti sauce flavor. The habanero salsa is spicy, but usually too much cilantro, which makes it taste like soap. Everything else is amazing! Decent prices, great food, large portions.

I will forever remember El Cazador as the best Mexican restaurant in Manhattan, but sadly between selling illegal things out the back and multiple deportations of the staff, it is no more. However, El Tapatio is a reasonable alternative. It's our go-to place now whenever we get a hankering for some chips and salsa.

Friendly staff. Food was not as good, salsas tasted like jar salsas, beans were canned beans. Our enchiladas and quesadillas were stuffed with American cheese :( in Mexico we never ever use the American cheese to prepare those dishes. There are other white cheeses that you could use instead.

Nothin. Wrong with cheap Mexican food for lunch here! If you want to leave with a full stomach and a heavy wallet this may be the place for you. That being said I wouldn't classify this as high end dining. The service is always superb and the food is always hot but the flavors are standard for Mexican food and don't stand out against some of my more memorable meals. Now don't get me wrong, I love to come to this place and I don't think I've ever left even thinking about wanting food for several hours! If you want something cheap with generous portions, friendly service and a clean environment I can recommend El Tapatio, but if you are looking for something to appease a food snob you may want to search a bit further!

Food's good but not great. Better than La Fiesta. I don't like their salsa, it tastes like tomatoes and cumin, no jalapeno taste to it. If you like to drink micheladas, DON'T get one there. They don't make them right.

First time ever here staff was extremely friendly. Food was very affordable and very delicious. Delivered to our table in a timely manner. Overall will visit again. Only bad thing was the salsa served with the chips. The chips were fresh but the salsa was very watery and lacking flavor. 4.5 out of 5.

Great food, large portions, tacky decor, variable service. I've been here a couple times and you definitely go here for the food and drinks. Staffing is variable, but mostly understaffed. Both times we went there the server hardly spoke English but nailed the orders. I would recommend doing take out when possible or catching a couple drinks.

Absolutely worst "dining" experience of my life. Seated at an awkward little table near an out of control adult birthday party group next a bunch of unsupervised kids dancing in the isles. So loud couldn't hear each other talk. We paid for the drink my wife ordered and left. Maybe it was just a one-time perfect storm of loud rude people but it really was stunningly awful.

Some of the best and fastest service I've ever recieved! The kept my water filled and refilled the chips and salsa multiple times without having to be flagged down. The pork Chile Verde and enchilada plate were very good for the price and the portions are huge. Will definitely be going back!

Generic salsa from Walmart, nothing like the Tapatío in JC, highly recommend go to the Junction City One... service was horrible and the guy didn’t explain well the plates... something my wife gets almost every week at JC, here they said they cant make it that way but they can add it as an extra and charge me extra... rice was like they put it on a microwave cause it was from last night. If you want to eat good salsa and good plates go to JC’s El Tapatío.

Really good. Wandered in mid-afternoon, they still honored the lunch hour specials. Bought my girlfriend a margarita and had to practically carry her home it was so big. Special was taco salad, which was unbelievable. Fresh hot juicy chicken, lettuce so fresh it smelled like the produce department, and chunky homemade guacamole with thick sour cream. Just a great experience for such a low price.

Very disappointing and overpriced. Waitress had zero personality and therefore only got a 15% tip. She gave all of her attention to the table that was ordering rounds of very expensive drinks, of course! Fish tacos seriously should be renamed MUSH tacos...had to eat them with a fork. Tiny pieces of fish in the mush. Tasted just okay. Best thing we ate was the warm chips and salsa. We walked out the door with not as much as a thank you. Would never go back and I do not recommended. There was snow and ice to walk over outside their front entrance - definitely a liability and not wise on their part! Takes a lot for me to give a negative recommendation. Don't waste your hard-earned money. Too many other great restaurants in this area with grateful staff. Not this one!

Absolutely delicious! I love going here with my mother and trying new options (pick anything, you can never go wrong). The portions are huge and two people can easily share one plate. Usually we choose a soup (which is also a large bowl) and a meal to to share and we're so full and satisfied we have to take a to go box home.The staff is friendly and attentive too. Authentic food, authentic music, and a great time!
