Awesome food and staff. Prices are reasonable. My husband and I will be back a lot.
Amazingly delicious food. Fast and friendly service.
The food was great. I had a pork dish, and my wife a chicken dish. The chicken was rustic (a whole leg and thigh). It was good, but not the boneless meat she was used to.
This was a great place to eat. No fancy but the food is great. You need to try it.
Such a delicious dinner. The sauces were flavor filled and the meat juicy. We can't wait to go back. The fried plantains we had were tasty - the dipping sauce flavorful and not at all spicy. Please ditch the straws.
Great food
Really good food
We happened to eat there on the day when the inspector was there. They were crowded and had to fix a lot of take-out orders so we waited quite a while. The empanadas were worth the wait. It has been expanded and painted so it is a cheerful place to go now.
Best place ever!
Don't remember the place
This place is Great. The staff is friendly and the food is amazing. If you haven't been here, you're missing out.
Delicious food, quick service, inexpensive. If you haven't had pupusas here you are missing out.
Great food, friendly staff and super ice was quick.
Great place to see young attractive men eat.
Some of the best food I have ever had. Don't be afraid to try it. I have been there with well over a dozen people and only one person thought it was just ok. So good!!!
First time having El Salvadorian food. Went with a friend and we had a great meal. We will come back again with empty stomachs to have some more. Also will probably bring my mom and son to try it.
Sweet corn tamales were delicious!
Loved the food. Great atmosphere & service.
Excellent food if you're from El Salvador this place brings you back home
The food was excellent. And the service was quick and friendly. Would definitely go back again.
Was amazing
What can I say, we go almost every weekend to enjoy the food there
Delicious "home-cooked" meals Okay, I'm not from El Salvador, and as far as I know, I don't have any relatives from there but this is comfort food through and through of the best kind--richly flavorful with generous, filling portions. The restaurant itself is well lit, clean, but casual. It reminds me of those truck stop diners they have in the movies, except a lot cleaner and presumably missing the serial killer. I only took off a point because you wouldn't go here if you are looking for an upscale or a place with a lot of romantic atmosphere. It does have nice colorful paintings of tropical birds and native flowers on the wall to add some cheer. I presume the food is authentic as possible in Kansas as there are many El Salvadoran customers (workers, families) that come there to eat. Regardless, the food is absolutely scrumptious.
Love the food.
Good food!
The Best AUTHENTIC pupusas in Kansas! Remind me of home in California. Definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting to try something new, or anyone looking for a little piece of home. Nothing in their menu will disappoint!
It has awesome food and amazing
Amazing food. If you haven't eaten here yet, you absolutely need to!
Amazing. Everything was good. Great atmosphere.
Always the best tacos and papusas in town!
Reopened and better than ever. Same great food, best tamales in town, and with online ordering. Prices are amazing. This place is a treasure.
Authentic food from El Salvador is very good. Service is excellent with ambiance. Parking lot is the only thing that brought down the score.
Fantastic! Seriously you have to come here. You know it's good when most of the people eating inside are speaking Spanish. Pupusas are amazing, coleslaw salad on top even better. Green "salsa" is hot and delish. This is a very casual place, seat yourself, pay at the cash register when done type of place. We came at night and the area doesn't seem super great but it was busy and didn't feel sketchy.
Very authentic! The traditional breakfast is my favorite and reminds me of my mornings in El Salvador. Thankful this place exists!!
Authentic Salvadoran food. The pupusas are delicious and don't forget to grab some fruit juice to help take the spice from their sauces.
The pupusas are so good!
They are alright what I dont like is one time I went and it literally took them 45 minutes to give me 2 soups to go!!
This place is amazing! Get a Papusa they're incredible!
Very good food!! You will love it
Had the chicken with cream sauce and it was excellent. Fall-off-bone tender leg & thigh with rich cream sauce... Say yes when server asks if you'd like the little flowers on top... So tasty. My friend shared his cheese-stuffed tortilla appetizer and I wished we had more than one. Highly recommend!
Great place! It has AMAZING food and the people who work there are really nice. Definitely worth going to.
1st time here... Food was amazing! I'll definitely be back
I like the fried mojarra
The best lunch spot in the city.
Great little restaurant that we enjoyed very much. The waitress was extremely helpful in helping us choose what to order with her recommendations. We will return the next time we are in the neighborhood.
Love love love this place. Papusas!
I loved the food it was so good and people there are nice and kind
Great. The best restaurant
Love their papusas!
Great food at a great price! This is not a TexMex restaurant. Very friendly staff and family friendly as well.
Papusas and tacos are fantastic! Great staff!
Papusas are my favourite. Service was great and we got our food very fast ... and they were packed full.
Smells good but gross food
This is an amazing place. Salvadoran food was unbelievably delicious. Very good price and everyone there were very nice and explained everything on menu it was our first time there. I will bring my brother and his family next time
This is by far the best of Salvadorian restaurant in Kansas City or Kansas CityKansas but it's delicious and it's in Kansas mission Kansas LOL and good stuff
It was muy deliciosa. The service was fast, the food was delicious, and the waiters were very nice. If I had any questions they were willing to answer. It was quite, but it was comfortable.
Welcoming atmosphere with great family recipe-tasting food. Definitely try the pollo pastelitos!
Amazing food quick service and jarritos, what more could you need?
fantastic! Great diner-style spot for dine-in or carry-out. friendly service. the pupusas are mandatory. & the beef tongue tacos! their green sauce is the best! Lunch time is busy but the line moves quickly. Everything is amazing here!
Great authentic food at low prices. Gotta try the mixta pupusa!
So delicious! Best fried plantains anywhere! Puposas are delicious and very big.
Good food, reasonable price.
Best papusas I've found in the city. Terrific entrees as well. Low key mom and pop feel
U must go to know
As always it was fantastic... by now I've been here so much it's like coming home. I've told over a dozen people by now how great this place is. I was even telling people how good it was at another Mexican restaurant (new one on the corner of 87th & Lackman)... anyway point is this place is great. Best place in town for street tacos.... grab your keys, your family, friends.... whoever, just grab them & go have some great food.
Very tasty authentic South American served with a smile and they have horchata! The greatest drink known to man!
Very good food. Pupusas are fantastic. You must try one. Tried fried yucca, which I didn't even know existed. Plus, friendly staff.
Excellent! Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Great food.
Good pupusas and food and carmen always friendly. Muy amable
Nice place good staff very friendly
good food. enjoyed our dinning experience. good service. took some food home.
Great place to eat
Love their pupusas!!!
Food is good. Just don't trust the prices listed here. They're more expensive than what they show.
Absolutely bloody expensive for no reason. Food is mediocre at best. We ordered two plates of chicken nuggets, one puppusa, and one chicken quesadilla with 3 drinks and it was over 40 god damn dollars. Sides say theyre included in the meal but end up charging 2-3 dollars for them. We got a side salad which we thought was complimentary because none of us ordered it but it eneded up being an extra charge. Never coming here again.
Great hidden place for some authentic to Salvador food.
Small cozy place amazing food great staff and service 5 stars!!!!!
Great food! Recommendations: Chicken papusas Pork tamale Tacos, all of them Pollo en Crema
The food was great. This is a small place with older decor but definitely worth the visit
Awesome pupusas and tamales! Loved our waitress. Wish they served margaritas.
Fun! Good food. Atmosphere zero, but who cares?
They make the best pupusas around. If you have never tried them, I highly recommend you do.
Amazing food and horchata.
Good food, family place. Privately owned. Everything I tried was delicious. This place is definitely worth a try.
Delicious papusas and soup! Breakfast looked great.
Always fresh and delicious!
My first time eating Venezuelan food wow it is so delicious and the server aww she is so lovely and nice
First time in, the waitress helped alot with suggestions suggestion. The pork and cheese pupsas were great, good tacos. The slaw they put out has some kick, but very tasty. I Recommend this place to try something different.
A little place that pumps out some of the best tasting stuff in the city. Consistently great food. Sit-down or to-go, you cannot go wrong.
Me and my wife both are incredibly pleased with the food and the attention we totally and completely Recommend this restaurant to anyone family For all.
Had a unique dining experience at El Pulgarcito Salvadorean Restaurant last time. They have the South American cuisine that is unbelievably tasty! Everything has been super flavorful and awesome!
I thought I was well versed in cultural foods south of the Rio Grande. I am sorely mistaken! Have you tried Pupusas? What?!?! No worries, I didn't either until yesterday. They are a gift from the exalted El Salvadorian angels on high! You *need* to try Pupusas! And after you try them, you'll understand you should have Pupusas on the regular. El Pulgarcito provides a large assortment of flavors; pork, beef, cheese, loroco.. top them off with curtido and salsa! That's what I'm talking about! Enough talk! I'll meet you at El Pulgarcitos!
Normally a really good experience. More recently, server forgot our papusa order, then forgot again when we reminded him. Ended up having to leave with no papusas.
Friendly staff. Salvadoran street tacos and papusas are some of my favorites. These were a little over the top. VERY greasy and cilantro overload. Orchata was excellent, and so was the carnitas.
Wow, so good. Hidden little gem. Papusas are so so good. They're small so you're going to want a few. Tacos look great. The empanada is not what I was expecting at all. It is like a Chinese donut filled with refried beans. Complete with sugar on top. Not what I was expecting. Hot salsa was delicious.
Best El Salvadorian food in KC.
Delicious popusas at a good price. Not so good service. My drink (agua fresca) tasted off/bad so after taking one sip, I asked if I could exchange my FULL drink for a different one and they said no, I would have to purchase another. Also before paying they said my wait would be 15-20 min and I ended up waiting more than 30.
The food is amazing! I always do a happy dance when I go here.
Very good El Salvadoran food! Not elegant but you probably won't care after finishing your meal.
Absolutely delicious papusa and street tacos, fried plantains, soups, and combo platters. Great spicy home made hot sauces. Breakfast served all day. Daily specials. Very reasonable prices. Carry out or dine in. Good luck finding a seat at lunch time! We had great service at our first visit.
Food is great, I had tacos and pupusas. Servicers could be a little more attentive. Had to flag then down for refills
Great Salvadorian food and they also have some Mexican food. The pupusas are some of the best I've had in a long time.
Excellent food! Even our baby loved it Service is great as well Definitely looking forward to eating here again soon!
Very good Salvadoreñan food. Try the pupusas, to die for!!
Delicious, big servings, fun place.
Been coming here for years, always a good experience. Food is authentic and delicious. Place is clean and service was great! Great deal for the money. Highly recommended!
The pupusas are so, so good. If you're brave, try a lengua taco, too...it's tongue (and not nearly as scary or different as you might think). I usually order one lengua and one steak taco along with my pupusa. I pretend to like the lengua better (I am so cultured), but honestly I don't usually even know which is which. They are both delicious and devoured quickly. Along with being delicious and devoured, the tacos are small and cheap...but even being small, I can get full here at nearly fast food prices. Highly recommend.
Wonderful food. Horrible service. Go for the food & be prepared to basically wait on your own table.
Yummy as always!
Food was delicious and quickly/nicely served.
Delicious pupusas!
The pupusas are top-notch. Loved the variety of sauces. Definitely check it out!
Depending on when you come will decide the speed of the service, lunch time is super quick but not so much at dinner because they have such large to go orders to fill. Ive been coming here since i was a child and its nice to see how the …
Excellent Pupusas. We waited a little more than expected but it was worth. Lots of cheese. Service could improve. Parking lot will improvement will give them a higher review. Bathroom was clean.
Hidden little gem. Delicious tacos.
I'd never been to a Salvadoran restaurant before and this please made a great first impression. They had the pop I like and the chicken and cream was tender and delicious. I'll definitely be coming back for papusas
Fantastic food.
Fantastic menu, pleasant staff
I've wanted to stop here for months; I've always been curious to know what kind of food would be in such an out-of-the-way place. I was surprised that it was full of people at 8:00 at night, but was seated right away. The service was …
Amazing food. Amazing people
The food here is amazing and the service is also great. I will definitely be back here again. The papusasas are a must try!!
very bad service. I waited more than 15 minutes and none of the 4 waitresses asked me if I needed something to drink or order something.
Good food, large portions at a great price.
This place is great. The pupusas are fantastic and my 3 kids go nuts for the main entrees. I love the unique flavors and haven't had anything that has let me down yet.
My family loves the pupusas. The kids like the cheese one, they taste great. The service is quick and on-spot. We always call ahead for carry out. The food tastes great and the service is very good.
Excellent food, the service can be hit or miss but even that doesn't keep us from coming back!
You got to try this restaurant if you want authentic El Salvadorean food. So delicious!
Great experience amazing food
A great little hole in the wall. Seems family owned. Delicious, cheap food. One of our favorites. Try the street tacos and the paupusas, but I don't think you can go wrong with anything here.
The service here is great. The food is fantastic.
The main thing they are known for and honestly the only thing I go there for and had are their famous pupusas. Revueltas are my favorite along with queso. Quick and very reasonably priced. If busy you may have trouble finding parking thus I usually ask to go and usually takes about ten mins, so fairly quickly.
Like everyone on here says, the pupusas are fantastic as were the tacos! The staff was very friendly. Our waitress was very nice and graciously let me practice my Spanish with her. I look forward to returning.
This is one of the best restaurants in kc, bottom line, end of story...unless you haven't eaten here, then it's the beginning. Salvadoran food ROCKS! (If you haven't had a pupusa, you haven't lived yet)
Amazing food! Very delicious!
Fantastic food and service
There are so many varieties of "Latin" food. This is one of my favorites. I would eat here every week if I lived closer. Friendly service Good prices Delicious food. The Salvadoran tamales and Pollo En Crema are very unique and so good. Everyone I take here loves it.
Amazing food! Would eat here everyday if I could!
Great food
Hands down best pupusas in Kansas City. Pupusas are stuffed and the meat is prepared really well. They give you ample sauces and staff is always helpful and kind.
Best place I've been to outside of El Salvador and I've been to like 42 states.
Great pupusas
Great authentic food
Delicious pupusas. Friendly staff. A hidden gem!
Litfam best place
I could eat here every day. So good and great staff.
First time trying Salvadoran food. Food is fresh and delicious. Service is great.
Exceeded all expectations. Incredible tasty food and very reasonably priced. I definetely recommend the streak and cheese pupusas.
