Absolutely a hole in the wall with some of the world's best chicken. The wings are SPICY. the roasted chicken is fabulous. It's located in an old building. Go you'll love it.

Ignore the haters, this place is awesome. The leg and wing on the chicken are small so are a tad bit overcooked but that's to be expected when you're grilling chicken this way. The thigh and breast meat were both juicy and full of flavor. I saw where people were a bit freaked out about the hot dog in the beans but I've seen this plenty at pot luck meals with Hispanics present. (it's quirky to us but doesn't affect the flavor of the beans) I'd like a bit more seasoning on the chicken myself. The beans were great and the rice was of course just rice.

I had the 1/2 chicken with a topochoco and really enjoyed my meal. Knocking off one star due to lack of variety-sides. Wish they had a couple of others to chose from but if you're cool with a VERY basic menu (whole chicken, half chicken or wings and rice and beans with tortillas and salsa) than this may be the place for you.

One of the simplest menus I've ever seen. It's literally either half a chicken or a whole chicken. And I can tell you what, they have perfected it!! It's a simple cozy place, and the kind of place you KNOW has delicious food!

Mmmmm!! This is a small eat-in restaurant that serves chicken only. But, boy, is it yummy! $14.50 for a whole cut-up fresh chicken cooked over an open wood-fired grill, right out front where you can see them grilling! Includes beans, rice, pickled purple onion slices, & several warm flour tortillas. Defineatly worth the $ ! A half chicken w the same sides as a whole goes for $7.75.(i believe) There are a couple of outdoor tables & chairs to enjoy your meal outside. Several bottled & canned sodas to choose from. Including Mexican bottled pop. Check it out! On the southside of the street @ 901 Kansas Avenue, Ks City, Ks.

Walked over the bridge from KCM to KCK and thought this building was on fire. Turns out they're just cranking out tons of delicious chicken. We split a half chicken for $7.50 and I think it was the best thing I ate on our KC trip. Highly recommended!

The chicken was overcooked to the point there was no moisture in the breast at all and even the dark meat was chewy. The hot dog in the beans sort of threw us. There's one choice of sauce and we won't go back.

Absolutely love the wood-fired chicken. The menu is not fancy, it doesn't need to be! The chicken, which comes in half and full, are more than enough to choose from. There is also an option for buffalo wild wings. The chicken comes with some sides as well. The price is reasonable. You will get a bang for buck!

DELICIOUS lunch! Great seasoning on chicken, warm and fully cooked but moist and tasty! Only 2 items on the menu, chicken or wings. But they come with a side of rice beans and tortillas. Strongly suggest for quick bite to eat!

Great place to get a quick bite of chicken! I really like their simple menu. You can have a whole chicken, half chicken, or chicken wings. You want a cheeseburger go someplace else, you want a burrito go someplace else, you want fish go someplace else, you want any kind of seafood go someplace else, you want Italian go someplace else, you want anything else but a whole chicken or a half chicken or chicken wings go someplace else. That being said if you only do one thing do you think you just might do it right and good? Makes sense to me.

Basically just plain chicken grilled over live wood coals. And it is delicious. Comes tortillas with small cups of sides: rice, beans and a salsa that tastes more like gazpacho.

The best place to get grilled/smoked chicken. The wings are absolutely to die for. The house sauce they're coated in is a perfect. Its definitely a low heat - mild buffalo sauce. I would consider this place a Kansas City Staple.

Really delicious chicken. The only thing problem is that you will smell like a camp fire when you leave the place. They cook over open wood fire. They chicken is delicious and smoky. Just remember to bring an extra shirt if you have to go back to work.

Legitimately some of the best chicken I’ve ever had! The wood grill puts a super delicious crust on the outside but the inner meat stays nice and juicy. Now the wings are kind of forgettable, not bad not great. The sides are also nothing to write home about but that grilled chicken...seriously, just go try it.

Great food. Very simple menu and very simple presentation. Don't be shy about using your hands. 8 bucks will get a meal with half a chicken, cup of beans, cup of rice, fresh tortillas and sauce. The sauce looks like pink apple sauce buts really a mildish salsa. Some of the best fire roasted chicken around town.

If you like heat try the sauces, be judicious or get the burn.No photos as they are all the same. Went in and this place was CROWDED! Always a good sign. And their grill had zippy open space on it. Chicken everywhere!!!! The chicken was grilled just right and was season pretty good. I had the half chicken and I took a booth and went fat dumb and happy!

Truly outstanding grilled chicken with fresh corn tortillas, yummy salsa, salted red onions, avocado, limes, and beans. This small place with outdoor seating amazes everyone we bring here. It is byob and they have Mexican coke! 3 of us ate here tonight for $24. We have eaten here many times and the chicken is always perfectly cooked and seasoned, tender and juicy meat with smoky, crispy skin. Delicious in every way. You will want to gnaw on the bones.

Nothing like keeping it simple. 3 menu choices; whole chicken, half chicken, chicken wings, all cooked on an open wood burning grill. Best chicken it town. You get a big stack of corn tortillas, some tomatillo sauce, pickled onions, beans and rice. Eat the chicken off the bone caveman style or pull it off and roll it up with some sauce and onions. Strouds can keep their pan fried chicken, this is so much better.

I got the half chicken it was really dry. People was waiting in front of me and yet once In order I got my food. Im pretty sure they just gave me food that someone didnt want or like.. The only two things I said was good was the beans and an sauce they had everything else dry. Their homemade tortillas under cooked. A bag of onions. Yeah you nead to bring pico gac and sour to actually truelly enjoy it but if its dry you are wasting your time because I like two things and the price was 8 dollars. I gave them two stars but its not a place to waste gas to fo to for a cheap meal
